The Library Square is a great pub! I come down almost every weekend to watch the Arsenal. Great staff and food along with the drinks. Recommend the place to anyone.
We often head to lib square after work since it's close by. The music sometimes can be a little loud, but they do have a great patio area for the summer and the atmosphere is great. We've also gone for business lunch and the food has always been consistent and enjoyable. Pleasantly we often find ourselves being served by Kelly who is awesome and always consistent and friendly. At night, the bar turns into a club and seem to draw more of the 20 to mid 30's crowd. We continue to come back to lib square because of the service, food and atmosphere.
I disliked the fact that they would serve only half a can of Red Bull - despite the astronomical prices they charge for drinks. The selection of drinks is fairly wide, however.
UP - Contrary to all the previous reviews, my buddy and I had great service. I had no problem ordering food and even shootin' the breeze with the bartender and later on, out waitress. Not to mention it was crazy with a UFC, and both the Canucks and WhiteCaps playing all at the same time. Food was standard pub food, but no complaints otherwise!
DOWN - It can get really packed and really loud, but what bar downtown doesn't?
OUT - I come here to play pinball. The machines are placed in a pretty tight area so I don't have much expectation for luxury dining, but the food has been alright none the less.
Tuesday burger/beer special for $11. Friendly staff, good music, games on a flat screen...What more can you ask for?
Slow service great outdoor seating but too bad the building blocks the sun!! specials from 4pm to 6 pm with $6 featured appies. i got a trio of mini burgers for that price!
Fun sports bar. A great spot to watch the game, and in the summer the patio is very pleasant with a great view of the gorgeous Central Library. Food is a pretty typical pub menu, and service can be a bit variable.
Library Square Public house. This place is getting ridiculously popular on weekends, I've been going clubbing here on occasional fridays and saturdays for awhile now and its mostly awesome. Like any club in vancouver it reaches capacity early now, I just read the last review and I think I was in line behind this guy! LMAO Ofcourse you can buy your way past the door HAHA that goes for EVERY club in Vancouver provided you are not stumbling drunk or a big group of guys...I'm cheap and so was he, so ofcourse we had to wait. Even girls had to wait they were so busy. He/she was mostly right about the washrooms they ARE SMALL! and not very well mainted but WAY better than the river of spew at the Celebrities bathroooms I encountered on tuesday! There are definitely no rats in the kitchen haha you can see right in from the bar, well maintained kitchen and I've ate there on Canucks game nites and the food was great. ummm I'm pretty sure the servers are all decent and HOT, if they were bitchy I'm not shocked, I saw one idiot grab a servers tits and get promptly tossed! pretty sure I woulda been bitchy too after that. I felt safe from the time I entered the club until the time i left Not a single fight and everyone was scanned with a metal detector thingy. I don't know about you, but places like that make me feel way better than the clubs like atlantis where the bouncers are dressed like GI JOE in body armour. OH and I might add, the ratio of women to men! ! AWESOME! its like 70-80 percent women.!
The food is great for a quick bite before a game but if you’re looking for something a little better or different then keep walking.
