Nice friendly staff. Good pizza with a crispy crust that's not too thin and not as thick. Fresh flavorful topping. Would go again for sure.

My seven-year-old son and I were in the neighborhood and decided to try the pepperoni and barbecue chicken pizzas. Great taste, good prices. What more can you ask for?

Video review on youtube: vancity food crew nat's new york pizzeria
.
I recently tried out this place due to the recommendation of a friend. I like the diner like vibe and friendly staff. I tried the artichoke pesto and classic pepperoni slice. Both were delicious. Decent value for the size of the slices, and the only downside is that its so busy that they run out of flavours quickly. Other than that its a good place to get some pizza.

This is a casual pizza/Italian shop located on Broadway in Kits (they also have a second location in Denman). While they are probably best known for their New York-style thin crust pizza, which they sell in large individual slices in addition to whole pies, I've heard great things about their sandwiches (heros), so I got an X Large Veal Cutlet Parmesan Hero on my first visit. The sandwich was (of course) big, stuffed with a generous amount of meat, and quite tasty and filling. Of course, I can't review this place without trying their pies, so I returned the next day to get a few slices of their pizza. Now, having visited the day before and seen the available flavours, I had already planned on which varieties to get. That plan quickly went out of the window however when I saw that they had a Mac and Cheese-topped pizza available. Of course, I just HAD to get a slice of that. I also got a slice of their N.Y. Deli and BBQ Chicken. They warm the slices up for you in their oven, so you get them fresh and hot. I quite enjoyed their pies, which came with nice crispy crusts and tasty, flavourful topings. The slices are also quite large (probably 1.5x the size of those from regular joints) so 2 slices are probably sufficient for average people (I ate 2.5 slices; I could have eaten 3, but their Mac and Cheese was absolutely massive). Overall, be sure to check this out if you enjoy pizza or other greasy but tasty Italian-American fast-food.

Veal Cutlet Parmesan Hero (X Large, $12.95):
3.5/5
The sandwich had a pretty generous amount of filling, which consisted of breaded veal, tomato sauce, mozzarella, as well as onions and peppers. It was a very messy sandwich; I used an embarassing amount of napkins while scarfing this down. The bread was quite soft and light. There was a good amount of veal present, which was tender and well-seasoned. Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of tomato sauce and I didn't really care too much for the one in this sandwich; it was quite thin and dripping everywhere. I do also wish that there was more cheese present; most of the mozzarella appears to be present on the edges and I seriously could not detect any parmesan. I had the X Large size (which I think is the same size as the large, except with more filling), and while I didn't have much trouble finishing it all in one sitting, it was quite a large sandwich and very filling (and probably enough for two meals for someone with a smaller appetite).

N.Y. Deli Pizza ($3.75):
3.5/5
This came topped with capicollo, ham, pepperoni and salami. I quite liked the crust on this pizza was thin and very crispy. There was a good amount of meat, which was nice and salty, as well as gooey cheese. It was a bit greasy, but I didn't mind; I like greasy, fattening food. Maybe it's just because I don't have a good palate, but I honestly couldn't distinguish between the different meats; they all tasted like pepperoni to me.

BBQ Chicken Pizza ($3.75):
4/5
This consisted of ranch, olive oil, sweet onion, bell pepper and Nat's BBQ sauce (as well as, of course, chicken). Again, the crust was nice and crispy. The chicken was a bit dry but still tender. I quite liked the BBQ sauce, which was sweet with a nice smokey flavour.

Mac and Cheese Pizza (around $5.75):
3.5/5
This is the pièce de résistance. I don't know if this is a special/limited-edition flavour; I haven't seen the flavour being offered on their website and it wasn't present when I visited the shop the day before. The piece came topped with a thick layer of mac and cheese, as well as tomato sauce and bits of ground beef. I did find the mac and cheese to be a bit bland and the pasta was overcooked and too soft. It was still quite tasty however, and very fun to eat (I had to use a fork on this). While the price of around $6 is a bit steep, the slice is absolutely massive (probably 2x bigger than their already large regular slices), and is probably enough to feed a person with a normal appetite. Having already scarfed down the aforementioned N.Y. Deli and BBQ Chicken pizza, I ended up taking about 1/2 of mine to go as a "snack" for later.

Great pizza overall!

Cool New Yorker vibe inside the restaurent, made our pizza within the time they predicted.

I'd come back, better than the pizza joint we tried a block west of here :)

Great retro New York-style pizza place, decorated lavishly in retro decorations. The pizzas are HUGE and are laid out on the counter by the front of the restaurant. The slices are big, so for lunch I would just recommend 2 slices. They have heros, pasta, and soup too! Great place, friendly staff.

This place has the best pizza slices in Vancouver. They also have great pasta and heroes. It's quite cheap too and the service is really good even if they have a rush. I would recommend getting their slices rather than whole pizzas. Their whole pizzas are alot smaller than the slice pizza sizes and can sometimes be inconsistent.

On this occasion I got a whole cheese less pizza. They were very generous with the toppings and we got it piping hot. However, it was pretty messy and I would probably go with their pastas if I wanted a dairy free option.

They also have super reasonable lunch specials that really make this place stand out. For example, spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, and a drink.

A few months ago I could still tolerate (some forms of) dairy. All I can do now is rue the fact that I didn't consume a year's worth of pizza when I had the chance. *Sigh*.   This visit to Nat's was from a few months back - back when I was still able to eat pizza! I know...what's life without pizza?

...utterly meaningless I tell ya. Utterly meaningless.

"You don't know what you have until it's gone."

The first time I went I ordered 4 slices of pizza, and the guy at the counter was like "That's not all for you right?" and I was like "Oh, of course not." ;)

I really like Nat's. Nat's is a New York style pizzeria in Kits (they have another location downtown!) They're famous for their huge slices of thin crust pizza!

If you're planning on coming here during lunch on a weekday be warned - Nat's is PACKED, and I mean packed (I could barely breathe) with kids from the nearby high school!

Drunken Master is off in Hawaii for his birthday this week. This is just three weeks after returning from a one month trip to Europe. And let’s not forget his week long jaunt to Vegas at the beginning of the year. He also mentioned to me recently that in addition to all this time off from work, he still has another 36 days of vacation left for the year. Is anyone else WTFing as hard as I am right now!? He says he works in “computer security”, but I’ve decided that it’s far more likely that he’s actually a drug lord. It would also explain how he can foot the bill for so many expensive meals. Damn Turkish drug cartel. All this is to say that once again I had to suck it up and order in food so that I would have enough blogs for the week (woe is me – my life is so hard).

This place is amazing! I've been coming here for 20 years and it has consistently made me say 'Wow' every time. The pizza is unbelievably fresh and delicious and their homemade Caesar Salad is better than any upscale restaurant. Authentic and Addictive.

My absolute favourite pizza joint!. I've never been a big fan of pizza. I like it, just never LOVED it. ... at least until I tried Nat's thin crust pizza slices. Now I'm converted. Not only are their pizzas thin, crispy/chewy, and absolutely delicious, the staff are always friendly. Just don't go during lunch hour on school days, or you'll need to line up for your slice... all the way out the door!

Try the Pesto Artichoke pizza, it's addictive!

I won't go out of my way but whenever I get offered some Nat's I eat a slice (or 2) it's a hell of a lot better than the usual takeout, grade it a solid B.

Best Pizza Slices in Town. Awesome pizza that is high quality and excellent choices. Very traditional and what most pizza places should strive to be. It is a different "style" of pizza the Neapolitan-style pizza has this thin crust and tastes great just as a cheese pizza with nothing on it or just classic pepperoni. It's not what I would say a traditonal Canadian style pizza or what some may be use to or expecting. If you like veggies on your pizza they put them on the pizza halfway thru the baking process so the veggies taste fresh and crisp not over cooked, soggy and/or burnt like some pizza places do. It's nice to have a different style of pizza besides the chain pizza places to choose from.

I also like a place that has an involved owner as it tells me they love their business and usually results in consistent high quality. I ordered a pizza last Tuesday and Nat answered the phone and took my order.

An ode to the thin crust.... And while some would scoff at the price, the slice is large tasty and uncomplicated so that = zah! in my book. Franco is a sweetie and it's a family run non-chain so it gets my vote for authentic from the heart good stuff. Go Nats!

Local and Tasty.. Consistently tasty pizza made with super fresh ingredients and a nice light crust. Love the in-house roasted garlic. Unlike many of the other pizza joints in town, you can taste much more than just a mouthful of greasy cheese. Try the "white pie" if they have any left...

These guys do pizza right. I have been eating here every week for 15 years and I'm still loving every slice. The owners are super supportive of the local high school and local charities, too.

This is another one of the pizza places that doesn't just serve up the same doughy pizza like the fast food chains. They make an unique pie. Plus some good, uncommon topping combos. I could eat this pizza any time.

We love this place. If you're a fan of Italian-style thin-crust pizza, give this place a try. We don't know how their pizzas compare to New York pizzas, but they hold up well to the ones we tried in Italy.

Great. UBC's Pi R Squared and Nat's are definitely my choices for pizza in Vancouver.

This city has a pretty significant drought of New York style pizza and Nat's is quite good. They aren't terribly giant or greasy slices, but there are a ton of delicious/well topped slices, esp. vegetarian. The 5th Ave is my pick...
