My favorite coffee place in the city. I often buy my whole coffee beans here (Stumptown Roasters) and buying a bag comes with a free Americano. I run a small business and do all my client and staff interviews here. There is a sweet little outdoor area in the back in the summer. Tables are not always available as it is popular. Fantastic pastries and sandwiches. Many methods of coffee brewing to choose from (drip, espresso, pour over, French press, etc) and coffee flights available. My husband and I have coffee flight dates sometimes and we actually split one because one each would be too crazy. Support this business!

A lovely cafe with a cool train station-like set up. It's beautiful in there! Reminds me a lot of Platform 9 3/4. Their coffee is a dream for people who take it seriously. Baked goods are too healthy for me honestly, haha. I like my cakes and my icing and this is not really the place for that. This isn't to say that what they sell isn't good - it's just a little too granola-y for me. This place isn't just about being pretty which is refreshing. Place is always moderately busy - lots of people doing work.
This was one of the many stops on the Vancouver Foodster’s East Village Brunch Crawl Tour. I got to try their cortado, which is a small espresso essentially. There are other names for it, like some call it the piccolo. . Enjoyed my mocha at this joint. Had my baby with me and was surprised to see a changing table in the washroom. Hallelujah! Staff was incredibly nice.
Always wanted to come to this cafe so I took my brother out to get some coffee and give him his Christmas gifts.
I had 2 Cortado and it was amazing!!! So good that I had to have 2. Now, I am really coffee high!
5/5 would go again for some peace and quiet in the garden at the back of the shop. I usually get the iced latte.
The ambience here is fantastic, especially the little garden outside where we chilled for a bit. Other than coffee, I’ve lately been obsessed with plants, so this was a perfect environment for me. Fantastic cappuccino, energized me enough to battle the other girls looking for deals at the sale. S had the mocha (top).
Sheepie had found this cafe and brought me over to show me a unique cafe in town. Indeed, the interior was built like an old train station, hence the name Platform 7. I had a Rooibos Latte, which was light and delicious. I also had a Ham Breakfast $4.50 which had a super fluffy egg, in-between hot, crispy buns.
WOW. If you love coffee you need to come here! Im no coffee connoisseur myself but decided to try the coffee made using the siphon. The barista tried to explain it to me, out of the whole thing i got that the siphon makes the coffee taste more clear and clean? smooth? just not as strong i guess. It was pretty cool to see it being made to as it involves the siphon which looks like a crazy lab experiment is going on right before your eyes. I decided to get a muffin to accompany my coffee and am really happy with everything. It is probably the smoothest and clean coffee I've ever tried in my life. Definitely worth a try!
Great little trendy, yet cozy cafe in EAST village (formerly known as Hastings Sunrise). Great selection of teas. Slow drip, but a large enough service to sustain a couple hours of drinking and reading. Both modern and couch like seating for the longer visits. Quite busy and noisy, so bring your snug earbuds.
Asked for a "London Fog" this morning even though it wasn't on their menu. I was simply looking for an earl grey tea with steamed milk added. I had to request the tea to be steeped longer (because I like it strong). The taste was okay. I got a banana berry muffin that was really good; moist on the inside and crunchy on top! Clean, and good ambience. Wasn't too busy at all considering it was a Sunday morning, though there weren't any free places to sit.
I have yet to try their food, but their drinks are good! This is a nice cozy place to study, I would totally pick this place to study over their local library any day.
The décor is very hipster and picture worthy. Very laid back atmosphere and good amount of seating for a small space. I ordered a cappuccino and it was served piping hot. Piping hot caffeinated drink is always a plus in my books. The coffee had a good amount of depth – not too bitter – very round coffee flavours
Best espresso chocolate chip cookies! I usually call ahead to make sure as they quickly sell out.

Foodology May 15, 2015 Cafe , East Village , Four Beakers Platform 7 is located in the heart of the East Village on Hastings Street near Nanaimo. When you step in, you will be magically transported to a Victorian London Train Station to experience beautiful hand-crafted espresso and coffee brew bar drinks. They use Stumptown Coffee for their beans. I stopped here with my bridesmaids a day before my wedding as we were in the area getting our nails done. It’s really a great setting to hang out with the girls and chat for a little bit. With all the hard wedding planning, I really needed some caffeine. They also serve up a bunch of different pastries from locally-sourced artisan bakers in the area. Hazelnut Brownie
This East Van café evokes a Victorian London train station, with a glass ceiling gently lit with starry necklaces of white lights. However, the jewel of this stage is the long burnt caramel wood counter which exhibits an intriguing selection of coffee equipment. They handcraft each express or coffee beverage: pour over, French press, siphon and tasting flight (curated selection of coffees). Music from their sound system is a sleepy soundtrack to this relaxed setting. Locals quietly tap at Macs, check their phones, or scribble in a journal, as the fellow beside me was doing.
Amazing coffee store. It can be said that I finally fell in love with coffee here. Platform 7 is on another level altogether when we are talking about coffee shops. The coffee is from Stumptown and as soon as you step in you feel like if you have transported yourself to an old, classy train station in London. The servers are extremely knowledgeable and are always seem to be in a good mood. Makes you want to stay and enjoy your coffee for long.

Summer Staple ; Strawberry Mint Iced Tea!. The teas were a good price ranging from $2-3, served either warm or iced. I forget what my friend ordered but her tea was served cold. It had a bitter-ish taste with a herby scent (which is her preference.) My other friend ordered the organic peanut butter cookie. True to taste, $2, it wasn't a DIVINE cookie. Any normal peanut butter cookie, but the fact of its organic background had us convinced and nodding our heads.
I ordered a strawberry mint tea $3, which is new for the summer and made to serve cold. I expected it to be sweet but it was more bland. It has a sweet faint smell, and a somewhat sweet taste with a mint ending. I assume its their spin of the "Shaken Passion Tea" from Starbucks. I prefer this, its a lot more refreshing.
But to my disappointment this new tea is just a simple addition to one of their old teas (I overheard the barista say to his assistant "just make this tea normally then add this while you stir it." and I watched the assistant make it the tea, and it is as followed.)
Good tea though, bland but you can always add the honey if you're not a fan.
Both of the iced teas are a good size, served in tall cups with straws.
The customer service is great, friendly and very jolly. I had to pay half of my 6.25 purchase in quarters (nuisance I know) and my barista laughed it off and reassured me my payment was fine.
I need to define how adorable this place looks! Completely unique, never seen anything like it. Its designed to look like a London train station, and it does just that. Nice walls, comfy seating, warm lighting and its a perfect place to chat or read!
Neat and laid back. Really love how the space looks and feels ....really stands out. Counter server and drink crafter were so neighbourly! Glad to find the patrons are here not only for coffee but for conversation. It's not an iPad shop. Yes!!

I've only sampled two drinks from here so far and I have to give them a 6.5/10. Aroma and body were just neutral and did not meet my expectation for such a specialized coffee bar. I also can't figure out why their pour overs are more costly than everywhere else. I will be back to give them another go as the place itself is enough to capture you. I might try the pour over here if somebody else pays for it!! ; )
These folks know their coffee and how to make it properly. The baking, service and atmosphere is great too.
I've been here twice for coffee and an afternoon of reading. The coffee is pricey, but well worth it.
I've only been here once but I'm so wanting to go back! Platform 7 has such a unique interior, that's designed to resemble an old Euoprean style train station.. super cool. The staff were very friendly, and the coffee (latte) and sweet (raspberry cheesecake muffin) I had were delicious too of course.

Read on to find out. Pallet Coffee Roasters Beef Brisket Sandwich with Spinach and Wild Mushrooms Salad Here Team Tastic (with friends) began its journey. We were served a Cortado , a Double-Baked Almond Croissant, Rosemary Parmesan Scone, Beef Brisket Sandwich (with ianca pane, remoulade, caramelized onions, gruyere, and beef), and a Spinach & Wild Mushrooms Salad . Based on menu quantity alone this was a highlight stop. Cortado with Doubled-Baked Almond Croissant and Rosemary Parmesan Scone What a way to start! The best bites here came from the Beef Brisket Sandwich which was a very clean one-handed experience and the Cortado which had a great dessert and got my caffeine buzz on for the night to come. Platform 7 offers two different styles of coffee drinking experience. One is the traditional espresso bar with cappuccinos, lattes and espresso shots. The second option is their brew bar, with coffee preparing methods such as siphoning, pour over and cold brew. We ordered one cold brew, one pour over and one blueberry muffin.
This place is definitely a gem and it's not too far from Basho Cafe either. Platform 7 oozes with style as it's modelled to look like an old European train station. It's rustic, it feels authentic and I love it. Friendly staff and delightfully good coffee. I've yet to try their baked good though. Not as much natural lighting as the previous establishments but it works!
After Chief and I’s visit to Lion’s den last week, we decided to head on over to Platform 7 because he’s driven by it many times before and thought it was cool but had never gone in before. Platform 7 is a coffee shop that’s train station inspired in it’s decor.
In addition to picking up our tickets, hippoCHAN and I gathered some gluten free goodies: double chocolate salted espresso cookie, salted chocolate chip cookie, Italian cookie… the last one I can’t quite remember. The addition of salt definitely made the cookies more interesting, which was why the double chocolate salted espresso was my favourite!
