If you haven’t stepped into this establishment you haven’t experienced life. This place is the definition of fun and even on a budget. The staff are amazing and the service is fast!
My place to party, to rest, to have quick bite, to write any thing needs focus...all in all best place with most courteous servers..love them..
Omg!! The Avocado Toast!! Sounds mundane - but this Avocado Toast will knock your F*king socks off! That and everything on the Menu is $4.95! ... That's the Tits, if you ask me. And our Waitress TJ was such a Doll, everything was on Point, I didn't have to ask for a damn thing.
Had so many awesome times at this place! Cheap eats and good drink, paired with awesome service makes for the perfect atmosphere!
Had an early dinner here yesterday.... first time here... had the best waitress.... food was amazing as were the drinks... $57.00 bill... $100.00 given... hope our $43.00 tip put as big a smile on her face as she put on ours... dance fucker dance lol

The best part is I'm American and I will money is worth more in Canada so I get a discount on top of a discount
Always a great atmosphere, excellent service and for the price the food can't be beat. I usually go for 1 beer and end up staying for many more.
It was Sunday on Pride week and our server, TJ was a phenomenal help and made my friends and I feel appreciated by being so attentive To our drink and food needs . Great atmosphere and service.
One of my favorite pubs in the West End. Two pints and a burger for around $20 bucks. Good place to go after paying all that West End rent.
Some of the best food I've ever had and the price is unbeatable. Great atmosphere and perfect for going on a casual date or with a group of friends. The service was kind of slow and un-attentive at times but the food and drink quality as well as value made up for that, hence the 5 stars still.
I love this little bar on Davie. I go there with friends fairly regularly. Good old school house and hip hop music (tonight- Sunday). Good pub menu with tons of choices for only $4.95 each (order two of something if you're hungry; portions are snack size). Good brews and cocktails. Good interior with lots of cool things to look at. Good service from friendly waitresses. Good, good, good. Only complaint is the no debit, in-house ATM 'scam' that others have complained about. They do take credit cards now, though, so that helps, but I find the debit issue off putting and seedy.
The food is pretty decent for the price and it's a comfortable casual atmosphere. I always get the burger which I really like - it's a processed patty and not anything fancy, but it tastes good. You're obviously not there for a fine dining experience. The service can be pretty horrendous though. I've waited insane amounts of time for super simple things and been ignored by snarky-ish waitresses on numerous occasions. It's close to home for me though and cozy and dive bar-ish enough for nights you feel like getting out of the house but not necessarily making a night of it.
Awesome price for the good food. Music was a little bit loud but anyways worth the $4.95 yummy food :D
Always coming back here for their burgers. Way better than mcdonalds, probably healthier.
All the food is under $5 which made me hesitant at first but was i wrong! Food was absolutely delicious and you got a generous portion for the price. Was a noisy atmosphere (music and yelling) but if you dont mind that than I recommend and will return!
Yet another $4.95 restaurant. Same quality and prices as the rest :) I had a veggie burger this time, and I must say, pretty decent! Came with fries and I ordered a side of gravy. What else can I say? It was good and costs $5.

I go only for the chicken wafflewich. Get it with the maple syrup and use it for your fries too. You will never in your life want ketchup. Service is variable. Some times service is very good and other times it is complete shit.
Atmosphere 1/1
Very laid back type of eatery/bar. I was there on Saturday night, the music was playing (great selection, I felt like dancing right there and then), it was crowded enough to feel lively but not overwhelming... Had that neighbourhood feeling to it.
Service 0.5/1
Our server was great meeting our needs but we often felt like we were being rushed although there were still empty tables and no line up to get in.
Food 1/1
Had chicken wings and perogies, not anything out of the ordinary or unexpected. Great beer food.
Price 1/1
$5 for all dishes? I'm sold!
Personal opinion 0.5/1
Came here with friends to relax over beer and munchies on a Saturday. Very lively and laid back, can't go wrong with the food at $5 per dish but also don't be expecting anything unique or wowing. Don't think I'll come here unless I was in the neighbourhood but it's definitely worth it for the quick pop in for a beer and side dish.
Service is Going downhill. First, the food at The Capital is delicious and inexpensive. They have a decent menu, the wings, chicken wafflewich, beef dip and brunch food are hi-lights of their menu. They also have a dessert which is called the "Happy Ending" which is donuts filled with jam that come with a caramel dipping sauce...it is to die for. The service however leaves somethinng to be desired and it gets worse with each visit.
This past Saturday, we were 3 of about 10 people in the place, it wasn't busy and there was a bartender and 3 wait staff on while we were there. Our friend ordered an alcoholic drink, my husband and I didn't know what we wanted yet, the server took his order and said she would come back. The drink took forever and she made a comment to us about "sorry it took so long" "I'm not sure what the bartender is up to". In the meantime, another couple came in and sat close to where we were, they weren't acknowledged at all and they waited so long for the server to show up that they got up and left. The front of the house appears to have no rules for behaviour, the bartender ate at the bar between talking and texting on her cell phone oblivious to customers, the servers spent quite a bit of time sitting with their friends and socializing instead of doing their jobs, not very attentive to customers. One server did nothing but sit at a back table wrapping silverware. It took forever for them to come around and food was slow coming out. We would have easily spent another 25$ Or more on booze had the server been on the ball. Another group of people at the front actually had to get up and track down the server for their bill she left them alone so long.
With so many other places with good food within half a block of The Capital, I have to wonder how long they will be in business with their laxidaisical attention to what is most important, THEIR CUSTOMERS!! It's very disappointing because as I say, the food is good.
If bad service is now status quo, it won't be long until I find somewhere else to spend my hard earned cash.
The Capital is a fun place to go for cheap eats and good drinks! They have daily drink specials and .30 wings on Tuesday's! Great music and decor! I will definitely be back!
Prices are cleary good, strangely enough the interior is very reminescent of The Moose on Nelson st. Nethertheless the atmosphere is buzzing. The drinks are priced well and obviously the menu is too with every item costing 5 bucks. I just had to go with the wafflewich!! It was a spicy chicken breast with some maple smoked bacon, some cole slaw sandwiched from both sides with a waffle! It was great :)))))) Love the fresh ideas here, keep em coming!
It was pretty good! My friend and I walked in and despite the hustling and bustling inside, the servers were very welcoming and happily escorted us inside to our seats. The waiters and waitresses were very polite and quick with serving our food and beverages. At first I was skeptical about the whole concept of the $4.95 each food off the menu! I thought the food has got to be mediocre if its cheap..because they've got to make profit off their food somehow..and with them charging food cheaply, it must not be so good. bearing that in mind, i was actually proven wrong!! I ordered Cajun Carbonara! It was sooo good! It had garlic toast on the side. It was creamy. Decent portion. Not bland nor salty. It was quite perfect for my taste buds! I'd definitely go back!!!
Had the quinoa salad and a classic Caesar. The salad was surprisingly good for $4.95. My boyfriend had The Capital burger and really liked it. Attentive service on a somewhat busy Sunday afternoon. Will return.
We went there for dinner Saturday night and were seated right away. The menu is pretty diverse, not your usual $4.95 fare, with healthy options and a nice drink selection. I had a beef dip with a side Caesar and my date had the quinoa salad. The beef dip was solid with its delicious rosemary dip and the side salad was typical. The quinoa salad came in this funky bowl and was tasty- not delicious, but good value for $4.95. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Definitely good value and worth checking out.
