Jennifer makes the best Americano around... and their cookies are addictive. The Rapid Time Networks crowd have met there on Friday mornings regularly for years and The Buzz is the default hangout for hundreds of small business types who like a quiet downtown Art Gallery to conduct private meetings in comfy couches upstairs.
It's the best downtown Vancouver venue I've found for a quiet meeting.
At the corner of Homer and Smithe in downtown Vancouver resides Harrison Galleries. Established in 1958, the gallery remains family-owned and operated. It is spacious, relaxing and inviting, and a delight to wander any time, any day. Harrison Galleries represents nationally and internationally recognized artists, including the amazing landscape photographer, Steven Friedman.
Really quaint little spot in a gallery. Fun flavours for their seasonal lattes and mochas. Really comfy spot to sit and work or chat with friends.
After hearing I wouldn't get a decent coffee in Canada or the USA, I took a punt on this place. With a sign explaining that they heat their milk to 160 degrees, I figured they knew what they were doing. I wasn't wrong. Awesome espresso & a yummy croissant to chase it. I'll be back!
Hands down my absolute favourite place to meet people for coffee meetings. WHY? Because you can take your coffee upstairs into the Harrison Gallery and relax on comfortable couch/chair combos surrounded by local artwork. The coffee and coffee bar tasty treats are great, but it's the ambiance that takes it to the next level.
I actually never heard about this cafe until some one invited me to have cofee here. I get the chance to meet the very friendly community manager of Zomato Vancouver and talked about this new application for foodies like me. Please support and dowload this app it’s worth it and fun to use. This cafe is located inside Harrison Galleries in Yaletown. You can check out the beautiful art while sipping your coffee or eating your snack. Honestly the people who work here were super nice and easy to approached. Since I made some few request on my latte. While checking on their menu one of the girl told me that they just finished making their fresh sandwiches and allowed me to take some pictures. Thank you for your kindness. Looks yummy to me. For my lunch, I ordered their Vegetarian Wrap. Grileed veggies with salso on the side. I was actually satisfied with serving and very delicious. Then I aslo ordered the Hedgehog latte. All coffee are made from 49th Parallel Beans. I requested for skim milk and asked them if they can put an art on it :) They kindly said yes. I was really impressed with hedgehog art on it. Kudos to the barista who made it such an artist! You guys deserve to be inside in a art gallery! The put a mini dark chocolate on the side. Extra yum! Latte was taste great! When its time for me to go back home, I noticed this cute sign outside the cafe :) Coffee and world domination sounds fun to me. If you love art and good quality coffee this place is for you. The art here were breathtaking so go and see for yourself and maybe you’ll discover your inner artistic side. Despite unimpressive coffee & muffin, will go back. A very spacious yet cosy place to linger around and read & write. I shall go back to try Americano (given the other reviews) and maybe some other bakery items. I had a cuppa regular brew and a morning glory muffin, and, alas, was not much impressed by either (although they were not terrible). People behind the counter all seemed friendly.
Great coffee in yaletown. Liked their Americano, rich in flavor and full body texture. Strong and bold to wake me up in the morning. Can add steam milk to make it frothy. This is a place with only a few tables, but always packed. It is situated inside a gallery, and people stay quiet here. If you are artist or like painting, you will like it here.
Relaxed place to take a sip. It is a different kind of café, from the rest of commercial franchized coffee places. You get wall paper sized pictures around the café, surrounding you, and feel very comfortable.
Tried their coconut chocolate cookies, and Americano, good and tasty.
Love it - I buy lunch here weekly, and the Roast Beef and Havarti sandwich is my favorite - it's fab!!! Great staff, great atmosphere - recommend :)
The Buzz has become the place for my daily coffee. The staff's friend and the coffee tasty.
Best coffee shop in town. My boyfriend and I go to this place every weekend to do work and drink their delicious coffee. The food is pretty good too, and the owners are so nice and friendly. Bonus: cool art work to distract me from MCAT studying!
Nice little place with gallery decor. I would never find out about this place if my friend didn't take me there. It's a great place to catch up with friends or just enjoy some quiet time alone.
Friendliest place in Yaletown!!!. Shocked to see "Anna's" review?!?
My girlfriend & I go into Buzz almost everyday! They are the most pleasant & personable place in the neighbourhood!
All of their staff are more than willing to help..... I walk with a cane & they always go out of their way to bring my coffee & bring the milk etc. (all you have to do is ask)...
Now I must say, " they have a sense of humour" & always make us laugh.... so if that is their down fall ~ ..... than I suggest you go elsewhere & leave the good seats for us!!!
Tasty coffee and great atmosphere. I've quickly become addicted to the rich and creamy americanos, the good (and often local) music streaming in the background, the comfy couch on the second floor and the beautiful and interesting art on the walls. And I can't forget to mention the great service. Haven't tried the lunch yet, but if their blueberry bran muffins are any indication, I'm sure it's yummy.
Great espresso, good food selection, friendly owners, beautiful decor. Great café to relax and read.
Outstanding. A great idea. The very best coffee by 49 th parallel combined with west coast fine art from the moment you walk in the door - what could be more relaxing - two of us wandered around the gallery while the other two simply relaxed in the lounge surrounded by great paintings.
Highly recommended as a quiet getaway while downtown or in Yaletown.
Next time when you need a place to hang out or relax or study, you can always come to Buzz and enjoy some coffees and food. Or if you just want to go to a place for inspiration, you can also go and visit the gallery. I didn't have the chance to take a loo
