food was excellent. Delivery was as 20 min. earlier than expected. Very friendly on the phone and deliverer. Deserves the highest rating.
Sushi Mura is a Korean operated “Japanese Restaurant”. I don’t know about you, but I despise fake cuisines. It’s okay you’re doing fusion, but don’t label yourself as “Japanese Restaurant”. There is usually line up at this place, so obviously not a lot of people share my belief in authenticity. In this restaurant, you get to enjoy Korean Japanese food while listening to staff yelling in Korean. Sushi Mura is located at the corner of Oak Street and 49th Avenue.
A stop for lunch at Mura. It was busy but service was efficient. I decided to try the Ton Katsu served with rice and salad. It was very good with a delicious tangy sauce. Rainbowcrab had beef teriaki (without the sauce) and said it was tasty but a bit dry. It was a bit skimpy on the portion of meat. We shared the tempura which not only was presented very artfully, it was very good! We will go back for sure.
If you're craving for some rolls, this is the place to go. Waiting is pretty common at this restaurant but it is justified by their tasty menu.
Rolls are interesting and unlike authentic Japanese rolls as they have a Korean twist to them. My favourite must-get item from this place is their spicy salmon sashimi, which is cubes of kimchi salmon sashimi. Refreshing to eat, and not spicy enough to kill my taste buds.
My favourite special roll is the spider roll. Fried ingredients give it a crispy and unique texture.

Grabbed dinner here with a couple good friends, and of course I was ever so eager to try out another 🍣 spot. Dining area was clean and fairly spacious, with standard but not dated decor. Hostess greeted and had us sat promptly. Our server was friendly and attentive. Onto the food! We had: chopped scallop, spicy salmon sashimi, chicken teriyaki, mangodise roll, volcano roll and finally the calamari roll (I think thats what its called). It had squid in it, thats all I know haha. All of our rolls were delicious, although the mango on the mangodise was a bit sour which was a letdown. Spicy salmon sashimi was on point and Mura gets the 👑 for some of the most artful sushi presentation I've ever seen 👌 All in all, a good experience and looking forward to future visits.

Went to sushimura for dinner with a friend. It was my second time here. It was pretty busy, despite the fact that it was like 8 pm on a Tuesday. The parking lot is terribly small, but there is a lot of free street parking nearby. I ordered a bunch of nigiri as well as an alaska roll which I don’t have a picture of because I’m stupid.

If you're looking for some good sushi, go to sushi mura! This place is exactly like Sushi Garden in Burnaby across metro town. Very good sushi especially their special rolls. They don't have much parking and they're often very busy so if you're going with a big group, try and make a reservation. The green tea that they serve is so addicting! I couldn't stop drinking it. So if you love green tea and sushi, this place is a must try!
Special rolls are amazing - I highly recommend the philly roll, deep fried Cali roll, crazy rabbit roll, and mangodise roll! Mangodise is really refreshing!

The first thing I had was the Salmon Sashimi, and I was quite pleasantly surprised by the excellent freshness and the clean cutting skills. It had an delicious buttery, sweet flavour and an excellent soft texture. The Tuna Sashimi was fresh and soft without any fishy aftertaste, though the knife skills here were less spectacular.

Crap parking lot
Big portions of crispy katsu, rolls are fresh and near room temp not cold and hard. Their lunch combos have pretty decent portions. Only fault I can find is parking and some of the younger servers need more training. Food is good.
Visited for the second time this evening. Was even better than the first. Awesome Roll is exactly that. And the deep fried California roll is unbelievably good. Great value and service
First time I ate in this restaurant. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to accommodate 15 of us.
This is the only Japanese place I have ever gone to that serves my favourite Okonomiyaki! As I know it takes time to prepare, I ordered it ahead while I was choosing my other entrees. Good thing it came just in time with the rest of the food.

Reminds me of sushi garden. Excellent value for some tasty rolls, and food. This place is no Minami or Tojo's in terms of quality and service, but your also not playing their prices! For what I pay, and what I get, this place is awesome! I grab take out from them every week, so happy that sushi mura opened in my neighbourhood! I do agree that the staff could do some more training, but I've seen improvement over the past few weeks.
My only complaint was their karage, it was so bland that I had to add soy sauce. Everything else I ordered was good!
Great Food, Great Ambience, Great Staff. Tried this place out today with 3 other friends for late lunch, and was a little sceptical on trying it out cuz of the negative reviews this place has been getting in terms of service. However, we were pleasantly surprised with the attentive service, the delicious food, and beautiful presentation. Maybe it was because we avoided the lunch rush (we went around 2), but the food was quick to come out, and servers were consistent in keeping our tea filled and checking to make sure everything was alright. We ordered 2 wakame, potato croquette, salmon sashimi, red roll, mura special roll (MY FAVE), and volcano roll, and the bill came to only $42.81!! I was really impressed with the quality you get for the price. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone, but like I said, it seems like you'd benefit from avoiding the peak hours :)
Super yummy volcano roll & beautiful presentation. The portion & quality of the salmon used was quite good as well, and with the sauce and cucumbers thrown in, it was like getting a roll and sashimi salad in one!
Service is also very good, and special rolls and reasonably priced. Don't think any roll was more than $10. I will be back to try more!
If you're looking for a cute sushi spot that is really affordable, Sushi Mura would impress you. It's unbelievably cheap here. The food is actually decent, the atmosphere is quiet nice, and the service is good (during lunch hours). What really stands out about the whole experience is opening the menu to find specialty rolls for $4.95. The exact kind of specialty rolls most places offer for at least $10, they have for $5, $7 and $9. They're full sized rolls and are equality as well presented as other places. Above we ordered the Party Platter A which included a whopping 42 pieces of sushi, all for $19. I noticed that they used the same trick that a lot of All You Can Eat sushi places use, their rolls come with a thick layer of rice and a much more modest amount of filling than you'd usually expect. Their tonkatsu portion is HUGE, we were pretty surprised at how big the portion was when it came. However, service was pretty slow especially since it was so busy that day.
