We were taking a break from the BC Beer Awards, hosted at the Croatian Cultural centre, with some dinner. They had hot dogs and food trucks available for a quick bite, but we wanted something a tad more substantial with a sit down vibe. There wasn’t much available in the area, as we wanted to keep our travel time to a minimum. All these factors led us to “Gojo” for some traditional Ethiopian cuisine. I am admittedly not too familiar with Ethiopian food, so took a step back, allowing my guests to order, and tell me what is what. This review is written in that perspective.
I have to say this is a hidden gem! We've never been disappointed and the kids love the food. We've dined in the restaurant and enjoyed food at home. Consistent taste and portions.
This place is excellent - the owner is always very friendly and remembers everything about us and our order. Quality food and great service! Highly recommended for take out or eat in.
Very tasty food! I had the vegetarian combo. Nice atmosphere and I would say healthy tasty food. Just a 3 min walk from the commercial/broadway skytrain station
Friendly service, delicious food. We were trying to go out with a toddler in tow, so we originally planned to try Bandidas (which has a reputation as toddler and baby friendly). Unfortunately it was absolutely packed, with people waiting. Fortunately, that made us look for a place nearby, and we tried Gojo. They were super friendly to our two-year-old and got her a high chair and plastic cup right away. The complimentary lime water was so delicious and refreshing in the heat. We ordered kitfo, doro tibs awaze and the veggie special combo. It was all excellent and very filling (served three adults and one toddler, and still had leftovers enough for lunch for two adults and a toddler). Very reasonably priced as well.
Amazing!. I have become a regular here. Love this restaurant & the food is absolutely fantastic! The owner is quite friendly and always welcoming.
We usually order meat & veg combo, which is one of my favourites after the 'Kitfo'. Definitely recommend this place!!
Excellent Service and something different!. My friend and I were looking for an authentic, cheap and quiet place to eat - this place was exactly that! The food is great, with vegetarian and gluten free options, but the service is what makes this place great! The staff are always friendly and willing to have a conversation and suggest food options if you are unfamiliar with Ethiopian food or style of eating (who doesn't like eating with their hands!?)
Ethiopian escape. Awesome place. delicious food.
fantastic friendly service. we were greeted with a huge smile.
Felt very authentic.
We had the vegetarian platters and they were all very good.
Ask for the HONEY WINE!!! it was not on the menu but we think the owners make it themselves and its very tasty.
Delightfully satisfied. Last night I took a friend out to dinner at Gojo Little Africa and am still thinking about it today.
We were thrilled with our food. A veggie platter for 2 and the Dora Alicha chicken. Both equally delicious and flavorful.
The owner Eruta served us and was such a wonderful host.
We will definitely be back! A hidden gem.

Great lamb! Authentic ethiopian food. Service was outstanding! Even more so when we found out she was also the chef!
I had the pleasure of meeting up with Raul the other night to check out the new Ethiopian place on the Drive, Gojo Little Africa Cafe. We ordered the doro alicha ($12.50) because the doro wat is only available on weekends, but the chicken and veggies in b
