I live in the area and have been visiting Sushi Hiyori for over 2 years now. It’s my Go-To sushi restaurant, I’ve never had a poor experience in their establishment and the service is always great!

Excellent. We went here for a late dinner on a Saturday night. The place is small and cozy with only 6 tables (half were occupied). We shared the Tiger Roll (deep fried spicy tuna), Hot Love Roll (dynamite, spicy tuna, chopped scallop), and large salmon sashimi. Everything was presented well, fresh, and delicious. Service was excellent. The waitress continually refilled our tea without asking, and the food came quickly. Great sushi location downtown!
Pretty good sushi. Not the best we've had in Vancouver, but far from the worst. Fish was fresh, well prepared. The yakisoba was good, but the noodles used seemed suspiciously spaghetti-like, not real real soba noodles. Good prices, good service.
I get take out here at least once a week and yes it is that good!!! I'm never disappointed I love this place!!!!
I have ordered delivery from sushi hiyori before and it did not dissapoint. Some sushi restaurants take awhile to deliver and if you order specialty rolls they are soggy by the time they arrive at your door. Sushi hiyori was quick by the time I ordered it was at my door within 20-25 minites and my specialty rolls were crisp and warm just as if I was eating in the restaurant. Today was my first experience eating In the restauranr and the service was better than most he was quick and did a great job in suggesting rolls. Location for business could be better but this is now my favourite little gem in vancouver especially for specialty rolls. The caftsmanship of these rolls are unreal. Deffinately will come back. Give it a try you wont be dissapointed.

Went there for lunch after looking sushi Hiyori up here on urban spoon and was not disappointed the decor was beautiful the service was great the food delicious had the bento box A came with chicken terrayaki gyoza 6 dynamite rolls a salad & miso soup for $8 soo good definitely want to go back to this place awesome find
Going in with high expectations.. Amazing downtown little secret! Highly recommend it for sushi! Left with no disappointment =]

AMAZING! great food, excellent service. Small restaurant, cute japanese decor, warm and friendly environment. the food was really good, especially for the price - the sashimi was cut real thick, and the nigiris are amazing, especially the hamachi!!! the portion for certain items like the okonomiyaki are a bit on the small side, but still tasty. there are a huuuuuge assortment of rolls and the ones we tried were delicious (the lion king!). the lady who served us was super nice as well
Great sushi in a cosy setting. A new twist on westcoast sushi. We really appreciated the presentation and the rolls tasted fantastic. The agedashi tofu is brilliant!
The Best. Probably the best sushi joint in Downtown Vancouver, if not all of Metro Van. Service is quick, food is fantastic (three pages of special rolls to choose from) and nicely decorated and also very clean. It's not too busy for dinner or lunch on a Friday or Saturday, but I would guess that in the next few months or years this will become one of the most popular places in the city to get your favourite roll, or some new dishes.
The best. Sushi Hiyori is hands down the best sushi in Vancouver. The spicy beef crunch roll is unreal.

When I mentioned to acquaintances that I’d be spending two months of my summer in Europe, many told me to indulge in sushi while I could. As I sit writing in my flat in Oxford, I wish that I’d considered their advice more seriously. Sushi restaurants here are nowhere near as plentiful or inexpensive as in Vancouver, and while I’ve been too afraid to try any myself, my classmates all agree that sushi in England is nothing like sushi back home. I’ve found in Vancouver that while popular spots like Sushi Garden are popular for a reason, the small neighbourhood joints are often quite good. This post is about an excursion I made to a relatively small sushi place in downtown Vancouver, with my favourite sushi connoisseur, SB. I’ve found that while there are many Japanese restaurants downtown, a simple good old-fashioned sushi place is hard to find. ...absolutely delicious little sushi restaurant. this place is a friggin STEAL for the quality and quantity of food (aside from the okonomiyaki). the staff are super friendly, and the interior decoration is actually really cute (they have japanese umbrellas hanging from the ceiling). A MUST TRY!
