It's the holiday season! Santa's Countdown to Christmas 2019 clock says there are 2 days left to Christmas! We are scrambling to finish Christmas shopping, and we are choosing to take a break by enjoying a yummy egg waffle and a bubble tea 珍珠奶茶.
The Bubble Tea Shop is a great place to have a snack and drink. We ordered a Super Matcha Waffle to share and added extra matcha mochi. A matcha egg waffles topped with a gargantuan scoop of matcha ice-cream, sweet red beans, and strawberry. It was very tasty, and it had a decent crisp!
The Roasted Milk Tea was kinda weak compared to so many good places in town. We found the drink does not have a strong flavouring from the roasted tea leaves. A slightly disappointed!
The Bubble Tea Shop has several locations in the city. This one is located on Robson Street in downtown Vancouver (1680 Robson Street, Vancouver, BC). It is a place that has so many options your head will spin.

This place is really amazing. I really recommend this place when you just want a quick drink or some bubble waffles on the go. As for the service, they work pretty efficiently and it never takes too long for my drinks or food to come. I also recommend you try their taro milk tea, you won't regret it. The workers are friendly and they have great patience when you are trying to find THE drink for you.
Always a favourite. Worth the walk all the way from Burrard Station and worth standing in a line that usually forms at this joint. Their Taro Milk Tea & Ferrero Rocher are our favourites and I’ve also tried their Rocky Road bubble waffle- would recommend all three! And of course, their dual cups are always a hit!
When on Robson, if I’m looking for dessert, I’ll usually head to Snowy Village. If that’s too busy…well we’re up in high water aren’t we? In all seriousness, I was with some friends and we were trying to find a dessert place or a bubble tea shop, but everywhere was packed except for the Bubble Tea Shop so…off we went!
The bubble tea shop has been a place that I have been wanting to go to ever since this Bubble Tea hunt of mine started a month ago. I figured that if a place was called The bubble tea shop, they have to know what they are doing right?. The bubble tea shop has two locations, one in downtown Vancouver and the other in Richmond. The downtown location is right in the heart of the Robson street food scene where as the one in Richmond is located in the parking lot of Superstore on No. 3 road.
I enjoy their bubble waffle and bubble tea. Long line ups are common and wait times are ok. I would go back again if in the area. My favourite thing to get is the green tea bubble waffle with mochi for all you green tea lovers out there. (Picture is the mango cheesecake bubble waffle, delicious!)
The bubble waffles here are really good! Tasty and crunchy! My boyfriend and I ordered a S'mores bubble waffle but the server misheard us and got a skor waffle instead. Luckily, she was nice enough to give us the correct order and let us keep the skor one for free (both of them tasted great)! This place is really small, but cute with all the white decor. My only complaint is that I wished they had their door shut because all the cold wind was entering the store. Overall, great place for desserts or a snack.
Came here for dessert and was not disappointed! The service was friendly and although they were busy, it didn't take too long for our drinks and bubble waffle to come out. Have to give them kudos for the beautiful presentation of the bubble waffles, you can tell the owners took great care in crafting their recipes! The bubble waffle was delicious and very filling!
Next time you visit The BBT Shop, you might just do a double take. This past week, The BBT Shop introduced the Duo Bubble Tea Cup where you can enjoy 2 flavours at once. Good things come in pairs, right?. How it works is that you choose from 2 flavours of their milk tea, bubble milk or fruit tea selections. Enhance your drink with toppings (like tapioca, grass jelly and more). Enjoy the drink by yourself or with a friend! The duo cup costs $1.50 extra from your regular, single flavoured BBT drink. As for toppings, you can either split one serving or add in as many full servings as you want. For example, an original milk tea is $4.50. It’s another $1.50 on top to get the second flavour in the duo cup. Then if you want half a serving of pearls in each flavour, it would be $0.50. Your Duo Cup with two flavours and one serving of pearls would be $6.50.
○ok service
○good dessert/ unique concept / only thing is its too sweet for my taste
○convenient location/ lots of parking
○price on the higher side
○would I go back? Sure
Love the presentation of these bubble waffles! Got the Oreo one, and also a smores hot chocolate. The waffles were great, but I forgot to get them with a mochi center (+$1) which I really wanted to try. The hot chocolate was way too sweet for me. Wonder if there was an option to have my drink less sweet?
Tried their taro milk tea, it was the best I had so far in the area. Also got the red velvet bubble waffle to share with 2 other people. I was expecting it to be very heavy but we were pleasantly surprised to find it to be actually quite light. The red velvet waffle with a touch of cream cheese was just right. Overall, I like the atmosphere of the shop, although simple but does not give an overly crowded feeling that you often see in bubble tea shops. Will be back for more!
We've only had the bubble tea here but we definitely recommend it! The earl grey milk tea and the original milk tea are both so good. The bubble waffles are apparently really good here, so next time we're in the area we'll definitely order some. We did find the price for a standard milk tea to be on the higher side, but worth it in our opinion.
My visit here for their bubble waffle was long overdue. But I finally had the chance to try it out. It was quite busy when we got there. The line was out the door. But we did manage to get a table. The seating area is quite crowded. I guess they're trying to maximize their space and I can see why, with the large crowds.
We ordered the Super Matcha bubble waffle and the triad bubble tea. The triad has pearls, pudding, and coffee jelly. We noticed the milk tea wasn't as sweet as other places. I didn't mind this because sometimes I do find it a bit too sweet to my liking. The bubble waffle was presented beautifully on a wooden board. The ice cream scoop was really large. From other reviews, I had heard the bubble waffle was a bit soggy. Sadly, it was true, but it wasn't that bad still. I do wish it was a bit crispier. I understand if it is soggy where the toppings are. But the exposed parts, I expected it to be crunchier. However, I still really enjoyed the dessert. It might be because of my love for matcha and red bean, so I might be a bit biased. But I thought everything went well together and having the waffle be matcha too made it even yummier. Now that I have tried this dessert I don't know if I will be back though. Personally, I prefer the bubble waffles from Bubble Queen. But the concept for the dessert is unique. I would say this is a good place to try, if you've never been!
There’s nothing better than a classic egg waffle when I’m feeling home sick for Hong Kong. This was a pretty good version of the Hong Kong classic, with a crisp exterior and a chewy interior. What I ate: Premium Egg Waffle – S’more ($6.95). I love me some marshmallows and this waffle definitely delivered. It’s a bit sweet for me, but I guess that’s what I get for getting a chocolate and marshmallow dessert. It’s a good dessert to share with a friend or two.
I love love love bubble waffles, and this place made them perfectly. The waffle was crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. It was a bit pricy however (almost $10) for my waffle, which was the matcha green tea one. Also the portion was kinda small so I don't recommend sharing if your hungry. The drinks there are decent, and almost a bit too sweet for me, but I guess it was my own fault for getting lychee green tea. I would definitely come here again to try their other bubble waffle flavours.
Got the super matcha bubble waffle. It was beautifully presented. It tasted pretty good as well. A little bit on the expensive side but it was very big so you can share it with a friend. Will come back to try other flavours!
Came here today because wife was craving something matcha. Once we got by the big group of indecisive students, we were greeted by a cheery cashier. We ordered the blueberry crumble, super matcha (wife's choice of course), and ginger tea. Bubble waffles were made to order, which meant a small wait but not too long. Each waffle was topped with a HUGE scoop of ice cream . I liked the flavor combo of the blueberry crumble, but wished they used real berries. I guess wife liked this place because she finished her super matcha AND helped me finish mine as I had to tap out . The ginger tea was in-your-face, which I liked, and paired well with the sweet waffles. This is a clean space with efficient service. It's a bit pricey, but the desserts were a generous size. All in all, I would recommend this place for bubble waffles...and I recommend sharing.
A common practice of dining is to have dinner at one place and then a second meal of sweets at another restaurant. This was destination number two. A new bubble tea shop in the downtown Robson area. Their name broadcasted what to expect. Though it was their bright lights and showcases of collectable toys that drew us in through the threshold. The colourfulness of emoji smiley face and poop pillows, minions dressed as super heroes, ninja turtle bobble heads, anime character key chains, and fruit shaped coin purses; just to name a few of the cuter things. Given the collectable toys for sale, this was a more traditional Taiwanese bubble tea house.
The other day I went to the new Bubble Tea Shop in Downtown. Surprisingly, I've never been to the Richmond location so I was super excited to try out their bubble waffles! I've seen many photos on social media and a bunch of other foodies talking about it, so I wanted to know what this place is all about! This location is located on Robson, near all the Korean bars. The exact location is 1680 Robson Street. Recommend car pooling with friends if you are planning to come here OR transit (but the walk is a bit far from skytrain, unless you bus down).
