Awesome veggie burrito joint. Cool ideas and they're open late for when you are craving a huge burrito at 11pm. I don't advise eating that much that late but with this place you can't help it sometimes.
I have been there only once . And it might just a bad dad to go . Though it is a cozy and friendly place , it smelled damp and like a wet rug . The food is good and filling . And they a decent range in the menu

Great food, cool atmosphere, friendly staff, fair prices what more do you need? Tried the Blair Stanley burrito with guac subbed for dairy (no charge) and refried beans. The food was ready in less than 5 min despite being fairly crowded on Saturday afternoon. Everything tasted fresh and flavourful. My only complaint is the hot sauce was pretty mild, needs more heat!
I love burritos so have tried them all over the Vancouver Lower Mainland and always end up coming back to Budgies. Tasty, large, and good value, I rarely can finish one of their burritos in a single sitting. And I've tried all of them on the menu at some point over the past few years. Last night I discovered that they offer a gluten-free option to order the burrito without the tortilla but in a bowl akin to a salad, which my wife appreciated.
The only strange thing about last night's burrito (Henry) was that it was hot and cold in different parts of the burrito under the foil wrap. It just felt weird feeling these extremes in the same food item. I suspect this was due to cold ingredients (e.g., sour cream, cabbage) being wrapped with the warm stuff (Tofurky sausage, rice, beans). I didn't say anything at the time, but next time, if I experience this again, I'd recommend that they warm up the entire burrito all at once to have a consistent temperature throughout the food item.
One other thing - this place is vegetarian. I had no idea the first few times I came here as I liked the burritos so much. There's no other place I know of anywhere in the Lower Mainland that makes incredibly tasty and creative vegetarian burritos.
I have been going there for 6 years and have always come out satisfied. The best burritos ever for a great price. We love the black chillies oil that they have in the table. The taxes are included and the service is aways fast.
Was driving by and decided to stop in and check it out.
I had the Jamedog burrito. It's stuffed and tasty. Will return to try other items.
Tasty vegetarian burritos! Nice little gem in Mount Pleasant. Order at the counter and wait for your delicious burrito. Appreciated the craft beer on tap as well.
Great for fulfilling your burrito cravings. Definitely the best vegetarian burritos in the city, and less expensive than other burrito places. There are a bunch of options too, like chipotle tofu, roasted potato, and tofurkey sausage. They also have relative cheap local craft beer on tap.
Get the Jamedog burrito. Definitely the best one on the menu. Have had the others, but they are not as good. Solid vegetarian burrito with tasty garlic roasted potatoes. Always fast service, even when it's busy. Been a regular here for over a year and haven't been disappointed. Very affordable and convenient to take to go.
Delicious burritos. Get the johnny o. Sooo good.
Jamedog 4 life.. Now I did prefer Budgies prior to it being renovated to be bigger but I'm also glad for them that business is good!
Hot sauce. Great staff. Great price. Great food. I couldn't ask for more. My favourite place to eat in Van
Also amazing artwork in there. I wish I could open my own Budgies Burritos.
Vegetarian food. With lots of flavour.
Yummy. Nice atmosphere, very filling burritos, and good service.
Glad to have this in the neighborhood!
Tasty. For a vegetarian place they make some damn gooooood buritos.
If you haven't been to this magical place yet get up and go!!!! You'll never go or want to go anywhere els for mexican after your first bite.
Great food at an excellent price served by friendly people who take pride in what they're doing. I'll be back. What's all this about the staff being snobs? They were perfectly charming when I was there. Try being pleasant to people -- they may be pleasant back. And if you want meat, why eat in a vegetarian restaurant? Or is that question too snobby?
Try this place!. Unassuming location and interior, but can't beat their burritos. Finally a Mexican restaurant in Vancouver that does something right!
Good Burritos. Pretty good value, tasty burritos. I really like the jamedog, that's pretty much all I order.
To everyone complaining about the service, well boo-hoo. I personally prefer people who act real as opposed to being a servant with a fake smile.
Where's the meat?. Great food, but where's the meat?
Great burritos!. When I lived on Main 2 blocks away, I would eat Budgies 2-3 times a week. Now that it's $7 per burrito I still think it's worth it once in a while.
Best. Burritos. Ever.. I loved this place when it was just a closet off the Main Street panhandle: that odd triangle bit where Kingsway meets up with it. It's still there but has expanded to include (horrors!) seats. The artwork is really something. It's worth a visit just to appreciate the decor. They've also expanded their selection from (was it 6?) burritos to include a bunch of other stuff. I'm sure it's great, but I always get the burrito, which is always filling and great value. Super for lunch or grabbing something nourishing and filling on your way somewhere -- or, now that there are seats -- a sit-down meal too!
If there’s one thing that Budgie’s isn’t, it’s fast, but I can appreciate a slower pace when care and attention are given to the food.
At Budgie's Burritos I had a Kid's Burrito. It had refried beans, cheese, and rice! It costs more money to put sour cream on it. I loved it!
I had read about Budgie’s Burritos on Sherman’s blog several months ago, and from a cute little movie on Vimeo some time back too. True to the video, it was a total hipster paradise, with a fully vegetarian and vegan menu, crazy thrift store art on the wa
I have been waiting FOREVER to post about Budgie's Burritos for one reason. That one reason is this locally made commercial I found on Vimeo a few months ago. It's in French, but not to worry, there are subtitles. Of course, living in a bilingual country
