I came here to grab a coffee and did some study with my friend in the afternoon, not the best place to do so since the seating is actually quite limited and not very quiet despite it is a detached house. But it is a heritage building that's worth to pass by to grab a coffee or have a date at least.
Have been to Caffe Cittadella a number of times now and I always love their hot chocolate and brownie. Their hot chocolate comes with a piece of hot chocolate, which is awesome for a chocolate lover like me :)
Another reason I love this place is that it's like a house and it's cozy inside with super friendly staffs. Sitting at the balcony or the patio is the best thing to do in the summer.
Been here a couple days and the first couple of experience were overall good. Yesterday, I decided to try their recommended Spanish latte. It was okay, but wasn't too impressed. I also got the lime and coconut bar that I really liked the first time I got it, but when I got it yesterday I wasn't too impressed. The almond base was soggy and the bar didn't tasted like it was a few days old. Also, I think the time I went there for a cappuccino - it was not too great either. I think I'll stick with their cafe latte only which I really liked and I got it the first time I visited the cafe.
I've been coming here for years they know me by name! I'm a self professed coffee snob and they meet the high standards I set every single time! A Vancouver gem!
If you want to get some work done and work best in cafes.. GO HERE. I have probably gotten the most work done in this cafe hahah, they also serve great little treats and sandwiches. I recommend ordering the spanish latte as it is a bit sweeter and oh-so delicious compared to espresso haha. I love the concept of this cafe being in a house,it makes you feel more homey and comfortable and also gives a lot of space as there's two seating areas (ones upstairs!).
Love this cafe ! It is hidden within the busy Broadway area. The heritage building is beautiful and the interior is so warm and welcoming.
Had the Spanish latte and ham croissant. Verdict : I love the coffee. The croissant is ok.
The interior is clean and there is music playing in the background.
Wifi is available (yeah). There are not much seating and it's really not meant for big groups. But if you are looking for a spot to have a little "me time", give Cittadella a try.
This place is big and beautiful. On the outside and in. Staff are interesting hear. Definitely get a family owned community feel here. The upstairs Bay window is great. Would like to see a nice leather lounge chair there, but then again it would mean someone sitting their all day and they attract more the half hour to hour visitor max. Nice outdoor garden seating. Bit noisy. Tea selection was lacking and they didn't have loose leaf teas.
I stumbled on this cafe on Zomato, and thought that it would be a neat cafe to check out. An old house that was restored and converted into a 2-storey cafe. Even from the outside, I was excited to see such a charming cafe in a closeby neighbourhood, and I never knew about it for the 10 years I’ve been in Vancouver!
Obviously more cozier than a Starbucks, inside a former home that's now designated as a heritage building.
The upstairs seating is great atmosphere but not good for a private discussion/meeting.
In the summer it's great with the outdoor seating.
They have great service and delicious sandwiches! Their staff is very friendly too! I love their spanish latte! They also serve to die for banana bread by Erin Ireland.
Located in a newly renovated heritage house a few blocks south of Broadway at Ash and 7th, is a delightful coffee shop called Caffè Cittadella. Two floors, with a ramp to the main level, outdoor seating and different places to sit inside, this is a pleasant and relaxing place off the major street scape that is Broadway.Â
I highly recommend this place to all my friends and family. A hidden gem. Beautifully decor and the friendliest staff. I would imagine it would be lovely to sit here on a nice sunny afternoon with friends - it's almost feels like home!
More than your neighbourhood coffee place. I will be visiting this place everyday for the rest of my stay in Vancouver. Great coffee, excellent selection of gluten free, dairy free, wheat free treats, friendly service and the best ambience of all the coffee places around the area. Located in a beautiful old house, I jmistakenly assumed it would be much more expensive than my Main Street coffee hangouts. Perfect place to meet with friends!
Elegant locale for coffee. My wife and I broke our "we never go out for coffee because we have an expensive espresso machine at home" rule and had a cuppa at Caffè Cittadella because there were no pastries in the house. I MUST have something sweet to make the perfect balance with a bitter coffee in the morning.
Caffè Cittadella is one of the most atmospheric places I've had coffee in in North America. Other reviewers have mentioned the heritage house where it's located amidst the highrises a couple blocks north of Broadway. Good thing? It was WARM on the rainy day we were there. On a sunny day, it would be great to sip coffee on the north-facing patio at Caffè Cittadella.
Coffees were OK. Pleasantly mellow, milky, not over-espressed. Not the intense taste-punch of a strong Italian cafe latte. I had the "Spanish latte" because I had never heard of that before, and I'll try anything new. It's made with steamed sweetened condensed milk. DO NO ADD SUGAR TO THIS THING unless you have a syringe full of insulin handy. Good flavour, hella rich.
Caffè Cittadella has an excellent selection of pastries -- the warmed apple crostata was fantastic. We'd go back there again. Except "we never got out for coffee because we have..."
Good, not great.. The place is Legit! The coffee is delicious.
Only complaints. The music isn't the worst, reminds me of riding in an elevator though.
The baked goods could be a little fresher too!
All in all, a pretty nice little joint!
Coffee is really good and the food is not bad. Good service. Love this place. :). More reviews to come...
Hidden Bistro/Coffee Shop. I love their chai latte (although it's a mix) or anything else with latte art. The barista always takes his time to make it perfect looking. What I hate is when I ask for hot, it's barely even hot everything is just luke warm.
Ordered the banana chocolate chip muffin, can't taste the banana.
First time at this heritage house espresso bar and bistro and wa amazed by the interior and friendly people there! Will be back for sure!
Worth searching for!. This cafe is tucked away in a heritage-looking house on a quiet part of Ash. It is definitely worth finding the next time you're near Cambie & Broadway! They use 49th Parallel Roasters beans for the coffee- which is superb. Paninis are fresh & delicious, with high-quality fillings. They're also served with a nice thick tomato sauce for dipping. Last time I was there the gallery case was stocked with treats for special diets (gluten-free, vegan...) and there were also muffins, cookies, cakes and a sinful brownie for everyone else. It can be a bit slow when they're busy, but it's worth the wait. And, it's a nice place to wait, run by people who seem to care.
Fantastic neighborhood coffee shop. I love this place. The building has character and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Most importanly, the coffee is great. The last business (restaurant) in this location was a major dive. Caffe Cittadella is a great fit and I'm sure it will be a part of our neighborhood for years to come.
It is not an uncommon event to find a cafe or restaurant in an 18th century or older building in Europe. After all, some European buildings date back centuries, if not millennia. For this reason, duplicating this experience in a young city like Vancouver is nearly impossible. However, when I heard about Caffè Cittadella’s set-up in a heritage home in Vancouver’s recently rejuvenated Cambie neighbourhood, I had to go and see it for myself.
What a charming building! Like Patisserie Für Elise , Caffè Cittadella also operates in a beautiful heritage building. However, no three-tier-afternoon tea, but with a cup of nice coffee:) A lovely building like this will never be too many. Let’s see how it looks like inside! Decorations are nice too~ Wow, stairs(≧ω≦)/ Imagine yourself sitting in the picture, enjoying a cup of coffee and a book…A good life should be like this~! A big lovely flower is on each table. Menu. They serve sandwiches and pastries too. We ordered Cappucino and Spanish Latte. Each with a piece of chocolate^^. Nothing special about the look but still tempting:P We are not familiar with coffee at all…we are satisfied with the coffee except that the spanish latte is a bit too sweet. However, we can guarantee it’s a nice place to spend a quiet afternoon:D Caffè Cittadella – espresso bar and bistro (604) 568-5909 2310 Ash St Vancouver, BC
Overall, I loved the environment Caffè Cittadella provides its patron. A fantastic alternative from chain coffee shops, a vast selection of edibles to choose from, and a lovely neighbourhood gem.
I call the area near Broadway and Cambie "Crossroads". Maybe it's the improper name. But it's not the Olympic Village. So technically, it's a little bit of "no-man's-land". Yet it houses some really cool shops, restaurants AND the best hidden gem in regards to coffee shops this side of Take 5 Cafe. Yes, I'm talking about Caffe Cittadella espresso-bar & bistro . I loved this little coffee shop ever since I walked past it with my friend Erica Hargreave (and once I was there I realized, it's really not THAT small of a coffee shop). While I didn't get to try all the extensive menu, I managed to get an iced mocha coffee that tasted like pure glory on a hot afternoon. I sat with one of my very best friends, AF (who has been my friend through thick and thin, and whom I met WAY before I was ever online), to enjoy a lovely coffee and relax at Caffe Cittadella. The patio is extremely spacious and is very receptive to all sorts of people. I saw young families with their kids, elderly people, youn
