Whenever I miss India , I go to this place . Delicious food . Best Indian restaurant in Vancouver . Friendly staff with good ambience . Overall it's excellent.
Nice. A must try spot in Vancouver. Place is very clean and staffs are very attentive. I was been there for 3 or 4 times. I never get disappointed.

I went to this place with my friend on her birthday . We were greeted warmly by the waitress and she guided us through the menu for the appetizer and main course. The food was so delicious. I had a madras spice mutton curry . The spice was evenly balanced. It goes well with Naan. Fantastic experience. Highly recommend . Will go back again.

Vancouver's little secret for South Indian food Lovers.
Had appetizer of salt and pepper baby corn, a cucumber salad, then we split a chicken dosa and the Madras special dosa. All the food was very good. Dosas were really crispy. The chicken dosa was scant on filling, but was tasty. The staff are great. We will definitely go back.
Excellent food - authentic south Indian taste. I love lamb biryani and mutton curry most. Good customer service. Once every month dine with friends.

The food here's simply mesmerizing... Anything you order, be it Paneer curry or Kothu Paratha (please try this) every dish is finger licking tasty... Also, the place is quite cheap compared to other Indian cuisine places and would definitely recommend all to give it a try. I am a vegetarian myself but my friends say Chicken Chettinad here is the best.
However, I would cut 0.5 because of the ambiance. Basically, ventilation is not at all proper and the air feels stale. Might not be a big problem but even if it is, you can always order a take out.

My girlfriend and I got off early from work and decided to try something new around the Punjabi market area. Madras spice had been open for a while and this was our chance to finally try it, early evening.
Decor is very nice. Our server is doing her job by refills and picking up empty plates, but lacks interaction. She just didn't talk much... The rating was almost a 5/5.
The food spoke for itself wow... I got the lamb vindaloo, spicy and it was so comforting with my basmati rice and naan. My girlfriend got the hot and sour soup to start and loved the spices. Then she had the veggie dosa and wow... Honestly we think it's better then house of dosa, much more flavors. We were very surprised. The coconut dip was my favourite. All in all, it was a fantastic dinner. I was in a rush to get home because of the snow, but next time I'm gonna shake the hands of all the chef's in the kitchen. Absolutely delicious, I really recommend these dishes I had. It was memorable and I would definitely come back for more!
Our daughter's birthday is coming up soon, and we are thinking of having her birthday party.My husband and I wanted to try this place for a long time, so we finally went to this place today. My husband decided to get the Madurai special mutton kothu paratha while I had the mutton briyani. Kottu roti was $12.99 and briyani was $13.99 and it came with an egg some raitha and some curry gravy. The food was really good. Price is very affordable compared to many other South Indian restaurants. Overall will be hosting my daughter's birthday party here for sure. Staff and the environment is very pleasant.
If anyone want to try authentic south Indian food with classic touch this is the right spot .... dosa to curry everything is too good and when u come out u feel good ....

• I love this restaurant!!! Everything in the menu is inexpensive (I hope they won't raise the price when this place becomes famous for foodies), dishes are absolutely phenomenal! Lovely flavour and not overwhelmingly spicy! It is a good flavour spice and not the typical "hot" spice
• I had the goat curry and loved every bit of it, comes with rice and a roti (flatbread)
• the Dosas are the best!!! Even the cheese dosa is good. Good for sharing as it is as long as your whole arm! Personally, I would ask the filling to be on a separate bowl so the dosa won't be soggy
• Street parking only, can get really hot and humid inside the restaurant on a hot summer day
We we enjoyed our lunch so much that we ordered some extra dishes for a dinner party I was preparing for 6 guests. They all loved the chicken korma, the lamb curry, the chick pea dish (Chana Dahl) and the nan. But none of it matched the goat curry for my husband ... He wants to go back and have some more next time we go for lunch! The owners are friendly and helpful, and the dosas....oh my!!! Delicious!
