Macarons are one of the most delicate and difficult desserts to master, and I have failed quite a few times and still wasn’t successful until recently. I got invited to a macaron making class from Bon Macaron Patisserie, and I really enjoyed the overall experience of learning how to make macarons while connecting with other influencers.

This is a small shop located on Broadway, in Kits, that is solely dedicated to macarons. They offer these cookies in dozens of different flavours (and also classes on making them). I tried a dozen of their macarons. I was very impressed with all of their flavours, which were very rich, distinct and intense without ever being overwhelming or artificial. The prices are a bit high, but considering the quality, I think that they are worth it. All in all, I'd definitely recommend checking this shop out.

All the cookies were crispy on the outside and slightly soft and chewy on the interior, and just melted in my mouth. Their flavours were all very intense and distinct; even if you can't remember which cookies are which, you can quite easily tell most of them from taste/smell alone. My favourite varieties were the Dulce de Leche, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Salted Caramel, Tiramisu, Matcha, Chocolate Peanut Butter, and Nutella. A couple of them, in particular the caramels, were a bit on the sweeter side; I didn't mind, but my mom (who also tried a couple) actually complained that they were too sweet for her taste.

Sooo many different flavours to choose from! Each macaron has a nice bite to it on the outside but soft and creamy filling on the inside. Highly recommend!
They've got a LOT of flavors to choose from.. like maybe 30. I tried the salted caramel, tiramisu, peach, and bacon just for the experience. Flavorwise they're a bit on the sweet side but they're okay. I liked the tiramisu and the bacon was surprisingly not bad either. As for texture I wasn't too impressed and they were a bit dry. But considering the cost I think it was overall an okay experience. They give you a coupon where when you get 10 of the 6 packs you get one pack free. The employee there was really friendly too. I'll probably give the place another shot to try some their other flavors
I love this place a lot. It has an amazing brand. The owners are very passionate about their products. They also are in the process of franchising.
I found that the liquor flavours (champagne, whiskey & chocolate, rum & raisin, and margarita) are better than the fruity flavours (pear & chocolate - more chocolate taste than pear; yuzu - sourness tastable; blackcurrent; blackberry & hazelnut - not much taste with hazelnut). You can taste the bitter liquor in the cream. For the goat cheese & fig, goat cheese is tastable and mixed with bits of fig. For the pineapple & basil, there is no taste of pineapple; it is more like cream cheese with basil. The taste of other flavours like matcha, white truffle & sea salt, and lavender are strong. So some flavours are obviously better than the other flavours.
The guy who was serving me is informative about macaroons and friendly. I would definitely go back for their seasonal flavours.
My girlfriend eats alot and I mean alot of macarons. This place is by far the best I've had so far in vancity. How in the world did they get them so moist? They melt in your mouth. They aren't hard and they don't leave a sugary after taste. When you walk into the store there is a see thru glass window to the kitchen, really clean and professional. I asked the gentlemen what he recommended and it depends on your taste. He's right cause I love bacon LOL. Got that one and wow knocked it out of the ball park. Bacon bits inside, light and creamy. Definitely come here! Even if you just want one it's so cheap. This store has been open for 6 months and they brought a new standard to vancity.
This is the third location for Bon Macaron Patisserie, its flagship location is located in Victoria, BC and the second store is located inside the Granville Island market. So what sets this macaron place apart from the others? I would definitely have to say the makers behind these yummy creations. The owners are creative, innovative and focus on quality ingredients.
The temptation of trying a place that focused exclusively on macarons was a lure too strong not to succumb to. The name was promising for both its definition and its connection to Parisian baking. They even had their own mascot. A yellow cartoon macaron who wore a beret and dawned a set of white gloves, both well framed his pencil thin moustache. These attributes reminded me of ones a stereotypical French mime would possess, but for this edible pastry.
Out of all the macarons I’ve ever had, these are 100% some of my favourites- the others including Ladurée, which are neither accessible in Vancouver nor affordable (180RMB for a box of 6 = ~$5 CAD a piece in Shanghai!!!) Some macarons end up being overly sweet and the flavours get lost, but these ones had a delicate but strong representation of what they were supposed to taste like. You can really taste the flavours in Bon Macaron’s mac-babies.
