This is a joint located on the corner of 41st and Knight. In addition to serving up fresh made donuts, which they offer in about two dozen varieties, they also have quite a large menu of sandwiches, burgers, and various Mexican food (they were also featured in a scene in the movie Edge of Seventeen). During my visit, I got four donuts (Chocolate Peanut, Angel, Buttermilk with Custard, and Bear Claw), two Pupusas (Pork and Bean and Cheese), and a Beef Steak Sub. While I didn't really care for their Pupusas, their sandwich was tasty as were most of their donuts. The prices were also extremely reasonable. This is definitely a place that I'd recommend visiting.
Pork and Bean Pupusa ($2.99):

The corn tortilla was soft and had a nice fragrance, although I did find it to be a tad on the dry side. The bean did provide a nice creaminess. I couldn't really taste much of the pork however, and I do find the amount of filling to be a bit stingy in general.
Cheese Pupusa ($2.99):

This was similar to the pork and bean pupusa, except with cheese. Again, I found the amount of filling to be too scant: I actually had difficulty detecting the cheese. The surrounding tortilla was enough to make it enjoyable, however.
Angel Donut ($1.25):

This is a yeast donut that's filled with chocolate icing and coated in shredded coconut. The donut itself was reasonably light and fluffy. There was a generous amount of icing, which while a tad greasy, had a nice chocolaty flavour. I really enjoyed the coconut, which provided a great fragrance.
Chocolate Peanut Donut ($1.25):

This is a chocolate cake donut that's filled with flaked/ground peanuts. The donut is quite tender and moist. The peanuts provided a wonderful fragrance; I couldn't really detect much of the chocolate flavour, but that's fine since I really enjoyed the peanuts.
Beef Steak Sub ($5.29):

This was filled with pieces of steak, mayo, pickles, vegetables. It usually comes with avocado, but because I've got an allergy, I asked them to remove it. The bread was really nicely toasted, being crispy on the outside and had a nice crispiness on the outside. The meat was also quite tasty, and was well seasoned and not too tough; the amount was a bit stingy however. I really enjoyed the mayo and vegetables.
Buttermilk Donut with Custard ($1.25):

Their buttermilk donuts comes with several varieties of fillings; I had their custard version. The donut had a cakey texture, and was tender and moist. I did find the custard to be a bit too hard/goopy; I think think that one of their jam fillings is probably better.
Bear Claw ($2):
3/5
This was a yeast donut that was filled with cinnamon apples. The dough was once again soft and fluffy. The apples still had a nice crispness to them. I did find the donut to be quite bland however; the apples were tart without much sweetness and there wasn't enough glaze on the exterior.

This is the perfect place to go after party in downtown. They serve sandwiches, fried chicken and bubble tea and they’re open 24 hours. The place is nice. Donuts are fresh and very soft. Fried chicken is great but I find the breading a little bit salty.
After moving to Vancouver, I had always passed by Duffin’s and was so curious to try a 24h place since we don’t have any in Edmonton. I was actually super surprised at how busy and decent their food actually is, not to mention cheap 😵😵😵 Id go back regardless of a late night trip
We just finished a two hour movie that took us right to 12:15pm. And unfortunately due to the lateness of its conclusion, we were limited in our late night dinner options. Not wanting another fast food burger we took the drive to “Duffin’s Donuts”. Still fast food, but more than just doughnuts.
This post deserves a full write up because Duffin's Donuts has been an institution for so many Vancouverites over the past I don't know how many decades. . I've never been, heard awesome things about it and most importantly, it's cheap. A $20 dollar challenge here would be epic, ideas, who's down?
The donuts are sooo good. Soft, not too sweet, and bigger than Tim horten's. it's hilarious to me that they're open 24 hours. But no matter how late you go, the donuts will be fresh and soft.
My favorite dive restaurant, a real neighbourhood joint. Their open 24 hours and have a wide variety of foods. Try the teriyaki chicken torta and their fried chicken. Perfect comfort food.
Duffin's Donuts, a local favourite. My favourite donut place right now, conveniently a small 5 minute detour from the regular work route. This must be the best and freshest donut, for the price.
This place is my kind of s%$#thole. No consistency or pretense just comfort food served in very very basic surroundings. You have to go for thr tortas if you come here. More than worth it.
Duffin's is an East Van staple, opened 24hrs. It is a great place to grab and go or even to dine-in. You’ll find a variety of foods here like homemade donuts, fried chicken, tamales, sandwiches and drinks; coffee, bubble tea, smoothies, etc. We have tried their fried chicken and fries due to its popularity. They came hot, pretty fresh, but we do like our fried chicken spicy so I don’t think we will get them next time. However, we love their sandwiches, especially their chicken pollo sandwich. It is so good and fresh. The sandwiches are a good size, and the prices here are great. Their iced coffees and iced cappuccinos are also decent.
The service here is always good, the staff are friendly and welcoming. Check this place out, it will not disappoint.
I was really impressed with the donuts here. These aren’t fancy hipster donuts with crazy flavours, just classic types like boston cream, jelly filled, and honey dip. They make the donuts here daily and they taste fresh and delicious. My personal favourites were the custard and jelly filled glazed donuts.
I will be honest... looking at this place it looks a little run down and grungy.. nothing to special. However, they have some surprisingly decent chicken!!! After reading some reviews on here, I noticed everyone commenting on their chicken which surprised me.. all i could think to myself was "chicken? under a heat lamp? whats the hype??" Well, it wasnt half bad in fact it was rather juicy! It also has a great seasoning and is very flavourful, keeping in mind they have both spicy and original flavours. But of course I didnt just walk into a place with the word "DONUTS" in its name and not order donuts, i ordered a few but Im pretty simple. A good old classic sugar raised kept my sweet tooth at bay, it was so light and fluffy but I would have preferred a little less sugar (just me though).
I don't write reviews and I generally don't come into places like Duffin's. But tonight there was a young man at the the cash register who offered me hot water because I was looking cold...

A rainy day visit to Duffin Donuts. A great place full of all sorts of people and a wide variety of food. I started with the Fritou chicken . I had a thigh, which had an amazing crunchy skin with juicy meat. It rivaled Churches Chicken! With the chicken I tried a spring roll. I did not like. No crunch.. did not even finish it. I also tried the bean and cheese pupusas, which are Salvadorian bread. It was delicious and came with a fresh salsa. Rainbowcrab had the chili dog with cheese with a side of onion rings. She said the chili dog was so good. She said the actual hot dog was the best she ever had, so beefy. The onion rings are the type we liked and we're perfect. To go we got a half dozen donuts and a Horchata. We look foward to going back and trying there Tortas.
Try the Eclairs, they are amazing! Fluffy donut, great cream. Also the Chocolate honey crullers are really good. This place also seems to serve fried chicken and various Asian foods. Have only tried the donuts, but may be back in the future to try the fried chicken because it looked good.

Ok first impressions going into this building.

If you grew up as a pretty boy your gonna be a bit turned off lol. Forgive me but I grew up on the northshore so perhaps someone can relate with me haha. Ok onwards to the food. I've always been a tim hortons fan, however, since it was really late at night and I got the hunger strike while driving by here, I decided to give it a try.
Mind you I only wanted donuts. But I have to also mention that their menu is quite diverse. Puposas, chinese food, sandwiches, and so forth. I got a box, half dozen to try out. To my surprise wow... The barvarian was so light with a center filling, delicious. I wasn't expecting that. Those are the best moments. Their display case is nicely done. Parking is tight and dark at night with no lights, becareful backing out. All in all... Dam they do well. I was in a line up waiting ten minutes and the place is busy. I would go back again and even recommend the barvarian donut to anyone.
My first time to Duffins. There is a big hole in the wall crashed in by some car probably. There are cameras everywhere, I feel like I'm in a prison. I went in with a seasoned vet. I asked him what to order for lunch, he told me everything is pretty good, I just ordered what he ordered, a double cheeseburger and fried chicken. The cost was around $8, not too bad for a burger and fried Chicken considering the burger was pretty tasty. The double cheese only had a slice of cheese. There are too many items to choose from, come to Duffins to choose any foods of the world. Something like that.
Great selection of doughnuts and eclairs, from plain to fancy and filled. Great prices too. We chose a 1/2 dozen for $4.50 which turned out to be fantastic; not too sweet or too doughy - light and delicate. Hey were fresh - but a pack of day olds could be obtained for even cheaper. On our way out the burgers looked great too. By the way we showed up at 2:30AM and there was still a 15 minute line up!@
Probably the best fried chicken in Vancouver. Also, you can get said fried chicken 24 hours a day!! Late at night the clientele is entertaining and diverse.
Definitely try the doughnuts. They're made on-site throughout the day and are incredibly cheap!
Although the name is a little sketchy and sounds all to familiar to another very popular brand, this is a great place to go to for a quick, cheap eat. Open everyday all day, Duffin's has saved me too many times from starvation.

Best late night munchies place in the area! Their chicken, although under a heat lamp, has never disappointed me. It's always crunchy and flavorful. Their Vietnamese subs are pretty good too.
Not too many options when it comes to 24hr eateries in town, especially away from the downtown area. I recommend it if you are looking for something other than mcdonalds, subway, chinese, or vietnamese in the middle of the night.
Duffins is one of those places that always tastes good. Whether it's 3pm or 3am, you will always have a fresh selection of donuts and one of the most unique menus in the city.
I always get the Vietnamese chicken sub or the fried chicken.
Duffins is the "I can't decide what I feel like so I'll go to a place that has everything place." Sincerely though they have AWESOME sandwiches, and despite what it looks like from the outside, it is worth dropping by for lunch.
Fast food as it should be. And open late. The Tortas are incredible and best doughnuts in town. How can you go wrong with fried chicken and doughnuts when you need a late night snack.

I have driven passed this place for many, many years wondering how they could possible stay in business. Plus they are 24 hours and the parking lot is always busy. Well curiosity got the better of me and I popped in. Prices are super cheap for sandwiches and burgers. $4.24.
I had some donuts. And guess what? They were good!!!. As I was leaving, I saw a couple by a half dozen tamales. So i did too. I bought the chicken and beef. They were good. Was pleasantly surprised.
Been coming here for a while now. Open 24 hours. Everything on the menu is pretty solid can't complain it's consistently good. Not gourmet but, good. The Chinese food has been gone for a while now. It was also pretty good.
My bf introduced my to Duffins Donuts and I love it. The donuts are by far the best I've ever tasted (Tim who?). My faves are the coconut cream and Boston cream. They are both light tasting and the filling is perfect. My bf likes the cake style donuts, so I've tried the buttercreams which are tasty. Any donut is well worth the drive! I've tried a few different tortas, my fave is the chicken torta. Tasty grilled chicken with avocado. And the bread is warm- so yummy! I've yet to have something from this place that I don't like!
Like to go after bar has closed. I really like that this is a 24 hour spot you can get ethnic food doughnuts and greasy american / canadian food.. ive only dined here between the hours of 2 am to 5 am but reslly enjoyed!! I liked the doughnuts!@ didnt find thrm stale or anything had some diffrrent types of doughnuts you dont see elsewhere..
they serve el salvadotian cuisine lke pupusas and asisn cuisine and greasy burgers and fries.. I got the veggie pupusas before they were ok alsobhad veggie burger wasnt one of those crappy veggie burgers made out of all soy I think they had rice and veggies in the patty.. I ljke coming here and trying diffrrent ethnic food I haven't haf before.. they also have some pastries in the front that are kind of simular to churros oh and I think dessert like bananas on a stick kind of neat... dont think I would come here during normal hours maybe for doughnuts
Forget the donuts, this place has awesome sandwiches, fries are good too. Can't beat the price, just over $4. Service leaves a lot to be desired, but it is a donut shop after all. Open 24/7.
I have ate so many donuts from so many different places, and thanks to a fluke I was driving down Knight St. late at night I found the BOSS of donuts. HANDS DOWN best donut of my life. And they also seem to have all most everything under one roof. Coffee, donuts, bubble tea, fried chicken, Chinese food, Mexican food, Vietnamese food, Canadian food its ridiculous and beautiful. Don't miss this spot, it's open 24/7 too.

GOOD FOOD!. You think they would only sell donuts, hey? they actually have a variety of good food (mexican, subs, chinese, donuts, etc.) which is why i LOVE this place. Their sandwiches are very delicious and well seasoned (i suggest their pulled pork sandwich). Lastly, their donuts are AMAZING! they're not too sweet and overwhelming- They're just right :)
On the other side of the place, they have a chinese food buffet for a cheap price too.

Vancouver needs more places like this.. This is on the way home from my husband's choir practice so almost every week he comes home with some donuts from here.
Maybe this is bad for my body but soooo good for my soul.
The maple Boston creme is maybe the best, but sometimes I'm in the mood for their Angel donut with its weird cool whip-like filling, or the apple fritters. Their regular donuts are very cakey and perfect for dunking in coffee.
If I'm in a savory mood instead I'll usually ask him to get pupusas.
Tonight he brought me a pupusa and an apple fritter!
Was a regular at main local. Yummy at low price, used to frequent main local, was very sad when it was torn down, but now can indulge in great ham and cheese torta sammy sgain!
Despite the inconsistency, it's cheep and delicious! I go there at least once a week.

Dropped into Duffin's Donuts for the first time tonight. Wow. If you have problems making decisions, don't go here. There are dozens and dozens of menu items. How one place can crank out everything from donuts to fried squid is beyond us. But, they do and some of it is tasty.
We opted for a machaca torta sub - shredded beef, pickled peppers, tomatoes, avocado and lettuce served on a crusty roll and a hamburger combo.
The machaca was good, almost great. Beef was flavourful, lettuce was crisp and the roll was fresh. It's not a huge sandwich, but it's filling and for $4.25 it's a solid deal.
The hamburger combo was mediocre. +1 point for a sesame seed bun. -1 point for a dry patty and a half point for an interesting hamburger relish-like sauce. As for the fries, save yourself some money and avoid disappointment. They're crappy, battered/coated fries that taste like old deep fry oil.
Does the sampling of two dishes from a place that serves everything from pupusas to fried chicken and chinese food to tamales make for a fair review? Not really.
This place deserves a late night, drunken/high visit to gain a full appreciation. Seriously, fresh donuts, fried chicken, chinese food and milkshakes all under one roof? Going here with the munchies may bring tears of joy...and onset diabetes.
Crazy selection, cheap and depending on what you get, tasty.

Cheap, Fast, Tasty, Better than MacDonalds. Duffin's Donuts serve donuts, muffins, sweet tarts & things, tortas, tamales, pupusas, sandwiches, fried chicken, fast food Chinese, burgers, pizzas, (what don't they serve) etc. A wide variety, all fast food and greasy spoon style.
I consider this a much better price, quality and variety 'alternate universe' of MacDonald's.
If you want healthy, elegant, high quality dishes, hip crowd, this is not the place. If you want fast, cheap, uncomplicated, tasty, greasy spoon and everyone in your family likes different foods, this is AWESOME.
But don't be fooled, their tamales, tortas and pupusas are exceptionally good compared to other Latin runned restaurants. I love their eggs & chorizo torta, chicken tamale, all pupusas, bran muffin and even the occasional donuts :) The western, fast food style Chinese food is good enough for a quick meal. Hmm, seeing the reviews, I need to try their fried chicken next time...
If you like donuts, muffins, butter tarts and other sweet goodies, they have a great variety. If you love donuts, the day old packs are a great deal :)
A standby place for quick good junk food bites in that neighbourhood and if you need to eat late.
And yes, all varieties of characters go there. Some of them are loyal customers from their old main street location. So far, they've been lonely harmless souls :) Most customers are regular folks however.
Mmmmmmm..... I love it!!! I love it all!!!! It's like a big buffet of awesome! Except it's not all you can eat.... Unless you want to spend all your money... which is tempting.... Best Donuts in Town. After going years without a real donut, screw Timmy's and their frozen "donuts", I found the reviews for Duffin's on here and decided to try them.
Walking inside you see right away this is THE local spot, always busy any time of day, staff take and fill orders quickly and always with a smile.
It is quite away from where I live, but 1 bus, 1 skytrain, and 1 more more bus are more then worth it.
They either need to do delivery to New West, or I'll be moving and sleeping in a quiet corner of the restaurant
The donuts are just perfect.
The old fashioned are excellent, not overly sweet and just the right amount of crispy/crunchy on the edges.
The yeast donuts are pillowly clouds of awesomeness.
The real stand out was the Lemon buttermilk donut. I have never had a donut of this type and it's now my go to indulgence.
And they are cheaper then most places, you have to try them at least once...and then fight the shakes as you need another hit of these amazing donuts.
The Chinese food is quite tasty and very reasonably priced. Have only had that once but was very happy with it.
I will try the Torta's eventually as I hear they are the best thing there.
Do yourself a favour and get there asap!
The tortas are not to be missed! Wonderful crusty rolls tightly wrappef in paper hide the tasty fillings. Pick your fav meat and work through the menu...and make sure they add the pickled peppers.

Duffins appeases all hungers. This place is a one of a kind. Awsome house made donuts never fail. Sandwiches and fried chicken are also stellar and super cheap. The menu is laughably huge and this place and it's customers is a highly amusing mish mash. Seriously though, Lopan must have his lemon donut on a regular basis. Only duffins can appease him.
Pupusas, Donuts, and Poutine!. Haven't been here in awhile and on stepping in, was surprised by all the new items on the menu. We tried their pupusas, poutine, and some donuts. Since we have never tried pupusas before - we didn't know what to expect. To our surprise it was really delicious! Cheesy, juicy pork in the middle of a nice and hot thick 'tortilla-ish' dough. Only thing is, it took awhile for it to be ready -- I'm guessing b/c they make it quite fresh? We've always loved Duffin's donuts - not overly sweet...not to mention their huge variety. Poutine was pretty good as well - lotsa cheese and gravy poured on top of crispy fries. Nice neighborhood place to sit down and grab a quick bite.
The Machaca is the best Torta. I've tried all their tortas and the best of the bunch is the machaca. It's moist, juicy and yummy. There has been the odd time where they didn't pull the meat very well and I ended up with a long piece of sinewy meat, but that was a one time deal. Try to remind them about the pickled jalapenos. They often forget and once I witnessed some dude go postal on a girl for forgetting. Yes, sometimes the clientelle here can be 'interesting'.
So East Van. Duffin's isn't as sketchy on a sunny Sunday afternoon as the other reviewers make it seem. I'll have to come back late-night to get the creep show.
Is there any kind of food they don't do? What a hodge-podge. Usually a recipe for mediocrity. But it's a 24-hour dive. It's SUPPOSED to be dodgy. I'll update later.
All I got this time was an apple fritter and a bubble tea.They didn't mess those up, but they're pretty basic. I was pleased.
Awesome food for a 24/7 joint.. Went here with a girlfriend for the first time the other day, we've heard nothing but good things so decided it was time to check it out.
It was amazing! the fries are the typical fries, greasy and salty. the cheese burger I had was good, apparently the chicken burgers need some work.
however the prices are great 6$ for a burger, fries, and can of pop.
Donuts, the donuts are amazing I had the custard buttermilk thingys and the apple fritters, awesome.
and a new favorite of mine is the pineapple cake.. its really yellow and really delicious.
all and all it was a good dining experience two thumbs up! it just might become the new hangout place.

It is a 24 hours of a variety of food from different ethnic backgrounds. Today's choice was a take out of a Salvadorian flavour - pupusas
upusas are cornmeal tortillas, hand made and stuffed with beans, cheeses and/or pork. They take 10 minutes to have the order ready, but it is worth the wait.
When you hear the name “Duffin’s Donuts”, the first thing that would normally come to mind is donuts… but you would be missing out on the fact that they also serve Chinese food and a vast number of sandwiches/subs.
