Well priced. Good portion size. Tasty food. Highly recommend If you are in the neighborhood.
Such a strange place - in a wonderful kind of way. Went here today with my family. I've been aware of this place for about a decade but had never gone because Indian Chinese food was such a strange concept that I doubted. My dad isn't an easy one to impress- but this place had him ordering double of the honey and garlic chicken (dry). Had that distinct honey flavour, a great crisp breading that soaked up the sauce and this punch of spices in the mid-taste (as opposed to aftertaste.) We also had their seafood hot and sour soup, seafood fried rice and seafood chow mein. Three-point-five, three and three-point-five stars respectively. The restaurant was full and we had to wait maybe a half hour. Worth the wait. Please check this place out for yourself!
Excellent Indian Chinese food. We had fish chill, egg fried rice & chicken dry.
Reminded me of Indian versions of Chinese food we had at home.
Wanted to have Chinese on my daughter's bday so we Went to chilli pepper house... This is the best place for Indian style Chinese.. Amazing taste & variety of Food..To start with Spicy green beans with Tofu is must have.. Cantonese Vegetable crispy noodles & Manchurian balls taste yummy..Staff was really friendly
This place is so, so nice for what I believe is called "Hakka Chinese". It's not authentic Chinese food, but it's absolutely delicious and the value in general is brilliant.
The restaurant is right at the corner of Rupert Street and Kingsway. Although there are only a few parking stalls outside the restaurant, people can find free parking on the street.
The size of the restaurant has a decent number of tables but it is not too big or too small. The owner of this restaurant is quite smart targeting different ethnic people such as Indian, Chinese, and western people.
The interior design of the restaurant is average. It is like a normal Chinese restaurant without any modern designs. It is a casual ambience.
I came here twice already. Dishes of food tasted great. I tried their lamb, chicken, vegetables, fried rice and fried noodles. Everything was so good that I had no complaints about them. If you are health conscious, probably you don't want to order the fried food. However, the sauce that each dish had was excellent. The restaurant used different types of spices to cook the sauces.
I would like to come back and try more dishes in the near future.
The tagline "Indian style Chinese food" says it all. A wonderful restaurant for folks loving the way chinese food is made in India. Highly recommended, the taste is very good with a great variety.
Now, regretfully, I couldn't attend the dinner here (with people who are absolutely a joy to hangout with, mind you). for I actually needed to write my paper, study, do homework. However, my parents were nice enough to bring some for me home. Every single dish hit the spot. Would definitely recommend and go back.
This is the only restaurant in Vancouver that serves close to authentic Indians Chinese cuisine.
They do have options for spice level and be careful when you ask them for extreme extra hot!
Food in all is average, do try their fish (don't order house style as it is just fried fish with chilli flakes), veg balls in garlic sauce and veg dimsums. They have a lot of veggie options available for you to choose from.
Avg. Cost per person would be around $17
One of my favourite restaurants. The food is so good. I like how they mix Chinese & East Indian flavours in their dishes. I built up a spice tolerance for their Manchurian mixed fried rice and always order that.
Sometimes it is very busy - a lot of groups of people eat here... Friends, colleagues, families.... And at other times when I go there are only 2 or 3 tables filled. A lot of other people seem to order take out over the phone and pick up in store.
Yes, occasionally workers are cutting vegetables on an open table but it doesn't bother me. I'm here for the food and the staff are generally friendly and always wanting to help. Actually one of the staff said he is Chinese but grew up in India for a bit.
They always give you fortune cookies when you ask for the bill.
This restaurant is a hidden gem for me and I hope it never gets too busy so I can always have my rice. It's worth trying!
Manchurian rice is amazing!!!! We are repeat customers.
Amazing. I've never been to an indian style chinese restaurant before... wasn't sure what to expect, but all i know is it has to be tasty right? yes, yes it is. The Manchurian fried rice was very good, i've never had a spicy fried rice before and this was amazing, the chicken and shrimps were a very welcome addition. We had some sort of spicy chicken, i cant remember what the dish was called though, it was a dry sauce that was spicy, and the chicken was packed full of flavour. The spicy green beans were amazing. And I usually don't like asian seafood dishes but the spicy garlic fish dish was very tasty. If you're a spicy ethnic food lover you have to try this place.
The Hidden Jem. I was Very impressed. The food and the service was outstanding. I was greeted at the door and served promptly. Very quick food arrival time and the quality was out of this world. This was my 3rd visit. Expect me to come again.
I give it 5 star on service and 5 star of food quality.
**Outstanding**. I discovered this gem of a restaurant sometime back in June of 2012, and have enjoyed their Desi style Chinese immensely, i left for Mexico soon after and searched for it's equal,,no such luck.
Having returned to Vancouver during the Christmas season,my daughter treated me to Take out from the Chilli Pepper house as soon as i got back from Mexico, it was a truly wonderful way to be welcomed back to Vancouver.
My latest order consisted of the Mongolian Beef Chow Mein, and the Mongolian Chicken Chow Mein, along with Spicy Beef in Mixed Vegetables and finally the Mongolian Chicken Fried rice,,i guess you can tell that i like my food on the spicy side.
Well...once again..they did not disappoint,,as i am still savoring the tastes after having my first Mountain Plateful.
Five Stars ...my friends,,,go treat yourself to some wonderful eats at a very reasonable cost.
Chi-Indian. The fusion of Chinese & Indian cuisine. Done nicely with a variety of choices. Can't go wrong here
Great food, friendly staff, reasonable prices. What more does one need? Love it and I think everyone should try this place out at least once! (You will return.)
Food here is always great, great service also. Been coming here for over 5 years.
Absolutely Delicious. I can't stop raving about this place. This is a favorite. Everything I tried is absolutely delicious. The price is good, the food is excellent, and the service is wonderful. My family's number one restaurant. Love the manchurian friend rice, love the crispy chicken, love the crispy beef.................... Must try this place.
Good food. Not good service... Our water glasses were empty and we had to ask for a refill even though the waitress kept walking by. Also slow to bring the bill. But manchurian veggie balls were delish.
Yammy. Seated within 2 minutes. Order taken within 5 mins. First course & drinks in 10 mins. Main course within 5 mins. Staff efficient and friendly.
One of my favs!. One of my favorite restaurants. I've been coming here for years now. The owners are really friendly and the food is really good, I usually order takeout. It's very unique as well; chinese/indian. I usually order the manchurian noodles or masala fried rice, and spicy dumplings, the hot and sour soup is good, the chicken pakoras are awesome as well. The portions are quite large as well. Some of the food is spicy but not everything. Just solid asian food.
Great place, memorable dishes.. I am so addicted to those Manchurian Balls!
It's great that the kitchen will try to make things just how the customer wants....these little things are what makes me a repeat customer. The service and customers are such a friendly bunch here, too! : )
**my only complaint is that the size of the chai is too small.
Has become a standard favourite. We first went here a couple of years ago. Ever since then, I look forward to my next visit. The Chinese/Indian fusion type dishes they sell are soooo good. I've never had a dish here I don't like.
The last time we went, one of our group was vegetarian. We had a vegetarian meal and it was superb. For an old meat eater like me, that is quite a recommendation.
Absolute favourite!!! Try the Manchurian chicken fried rice, veggie balls, mixed pakora, honey garlic chicken. You won't regret it.
Great food everytime!. We came here for a quick dinner and we were not disappointed. We ordered some of our favourite dishes and they were all amazing! The Manchurian Beef, Manchurian Chicken Chow Mein and Spicy Garlic Green Beans were all delicious.
We have been here so many times over the past few years and one thing for sure is that the food is always consistent and the portion sizes are good too. We normally have enough leftovers for another meal which is great either for packed lunches or for another dinner when I'm too lazy to cook.
Highly recommended!
YUM!. This is a family runned chinese restaurant, but the unique part is that the two owners went to India to learn to cook and brought it over here. It's a fusion between chinese and indian food, but you have to know what to order. I've had friends who tried to order and just got 'normal chinese' food. I've been a regular here and have brought friends and family to this place. Things to get would be the manchurian chicken, manchurina chow mein, manchurin tofu, haji prawns, and paneer. If you still have room get the deep fried pineapple or banana or both with ice cream. The atmosphere is like any other chinese restaurant, but I really love the staff. They are so friendly. If you don't know what to order you can always ask for suggestions, they're great with that! Also, remember there is a spice level you can choose.
Excellent food, excellent service! Love the munchurian chicken, Haji fish & Phoenix prawns
Excellent!!! One of my faves! Try di ching chicken, mmmmmm.
Very good the owner also.... A bit to greasy for me. But the owner also has another location in surrey at the corner of 96ave and 128st
Scrump-dilly-i-sious. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Vancouver, the food is always fantastic, I like it hot, but not just hot, it has to be hot & spicy with flavor. A lot of restaurants simply give you a bottle of Tabasco Sauce when you ask for it extra spicy. But not here! They can please my palate every time
Amazing fusion of traditional Chinese dishes and Indian spices. Especially loved the deep fried cauliflower dish and the Manchurian fried rice!
...spicy food and something a little different than regular Chinese food, you should try this place out. The service was pretty good too. They said the Mongolian Chicken wasn’t something that they normally serve (even though it’s on the menu that I saw) but they said they could make it for us.
There was a time, many years ago, when going out for Chinese food meant choosing between Combo A, B or C. Or, if you were lucky, your folks would take you to the Rickshaw in Surrey for the Saturday night smorgasbord. All the different and new flavors and
It was one of those weekends that we had absolutely nothing to do. Normally, we had something planned for the weekend but for that one week we did not have anything planned at all. Since we had all the time in the world, we decided to drive a bit further
