I have itching for a different sushi place to try, for the sake of this blog and because I have been going to the same sushi places for awhile now. When Cocoa suggested sushi, I went on the trusty Yelp app to see which places we could try. Ginger Sushi came up, so I called and made a reso for 5 people the following week!

Sushi was fresh and reasonably priced. You definitely get your money's worth. The only thing I found odd about this place was that the rice to fish proportions in their nigiri were completely off - very long slices of fish on top of very small balls of rice. Overall, still a good experience and would come back again!
I am eating here at as we speak and I have to say, what a hidden little gem this is. Friendly, quaint, and best of all, fresh and well made. I had sushi earlier at a spot on Kingsway and it was so poor that I needed to satiate my sushi craving elsewhere. I happened upon Ginger sushi and I was thoroughly impressed. The strawberries that came with my rolls were a nice touch, and it's great that they had brown rice. I will be back to try more menu items, but the tuna and salmon was melt in your mouth beautiful.
Such a great little hidden gem! The service was fantastic and the chef brings a unique artistic flare to the food. Everything was delicious and tasted so fresh! A little restaurant, you can tell they really care about their food.
I cannot recommend this place enough! It's such great value for money too.
Food is consistently tasty, quickly served. Only downside is they yell thank you at every guest as they leave, in a small place you take your hearing at risk.
This is a fantastic sushi gem! I'm kinda hesitant to share a review (my first)...when people will discover how good this place is, I'm scared that there will be a line up. But Kevin and his Ginger sushi team really deserve the praise! You always feel welcome whenever you come, either dine in or take out. Kevin and his team always make sure you receive the best service and his sushi are always fresh and well presented! I have never been disappointed :) Keep up the good work guys!
Craving for a light snack and was in the neighbourhood. Decided to try two things off their menu. The good thing was it only cost less than $10 and tummies were pretty satisfied. . Creamy roll $5.95For $5.95 what a good deal there are so many pieces of this creamy roll which has avocado, imitation crab meat, cream cheese, light mango sauce and sprinkle of the parmesan cheese and strawberry on top. beautifully plated. The roll was very creamy with the avocado and the cream cheese but soooo satisfying to the bite. Sweet and light!
This place is amazing! The sushi is carefully and expertly prepared and the flavours are very well balanced. The quality of the fish is very very good and the service is friendly. We eat here all the time and it is always consistent, since there is only the one chef. He is a sushi expert!
Busy little place!! The food is excellent! I see now why all the good reviews. One of the best tempura batters I have ever had. Light and crispy.
So good!. We didn't feel like waiting an hour at Kishimoto so we wandered up the Drive to see what other sushi places were around. Ginger Sushi had a good rating so we figured why not.
We were not disappointed! Great sushi at great prices, fresh tea, nice staff. I'll definitely be going back many more times.

Wonderful dining experience. My wife and I dined at this restaurant for our anniversary. We read about it on Urbanspoon and were intrigued by all of the positive reviews. Well, our expectations were more than met last night. The restaurant is cozy, clean, and nicely furnished. The place is run by a lovely Japanese couple. We studied our menus and chose a number of maki options, e.g. spicy salmon roll, spicy tuna roll, Vancouver roll (smoked salmon and tuna), sakura roll (spicy tuna, prawn tempura, topped with salmon and two kinds of roe), Mexican roll (can't remember the exact ingredients but there was some hot spicing--delicious!), gyoza, and a dynamite roll combo. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. They even gave us free miso--a small but considerate touch. Even the green tea was fresh and clean tasting. The piece de resistance was, of all things, the drinking water to which they had added some fresh squeezed lemon juice. We will be back and will be recommending this place to all our friends.
Didn't have high expectations for this hole in the wall sushi spot but the food was above average, tasty teriyaki on the bento box and crunch roll had lovely mango sauce. Well worth a try.
Best Sushi in Vancouver. Ginger Sushi is the most humble and honest sushi joint in the city. Their sushi is top quality and very clean on the palette. They always remember you and remember you favourite dishes (very convenient when ordering via telephone ahead of time for pick up). Family run place. Always clean, delicious and friendly. A rarity in the Vancouver sushi scene.

Our fav sushi in the area. Great rolls (try the house roll!), and amazing sashimi!! But the best part is the staff, remember us and our order every time.
Great Sushi Restaurant. I would say I will come back to this restaurant for sure. Most of all various special sushi rolls are so tasty and awesome. Cant describe the taste. You should try it!

Well... you can think that I must not be very picky... but actually, the contrary: after living in Japan, I have to say that not all sushi are making the par for me.
But I have never been disappointed by Ginger Sushi.
So why just a 4 ?........ Well, because I AM picky ;-) and I don't like the place itself.
Can't really eat there.
But it doesn't matter: take out sushi is just as good !! :-))
...appeared to be a neighbourhood restaurant, as everybody seemed to know each other.
Foods we ordered were all delicious! Especially Mexican roll! Bam! So good. Udon comes on a stone bowl which keeps food warm longer. 👍 Wasabi was a bit different than other sushi restaurants in a good way. Moist, fresh and it doesn't hit your nose. All good!

This restaurant continues my growing love and affection for this entire neighbourhood. Was here from Toronto visiting Vancouver and despite the incredible diversity of restaurants to select, I almost came back for dinner the next evening. The food is delicious, the service is kind and welcoming, the portions are generous, and the price is very reasonable. I could tell they have a very loyal clientele and if I lived here, I would very certainly be counted amongst its ranks.

Ginger sushi is the best! Freshest sushi for tiny prices. The portions are great. I love their avocado roll and salmon rolls. The salmon portions are always out of this world!
This is some of the best sushi I've ever had. The flavor and care was top notch, and the atmosphere is so lovely. I wish I could give 6 stars to this place
