First time dining at the place i ordered The Legendary Splitz Burger Combo with Montery Jack Cheese,Sauteed Onions and Grilled Bacon with a Ice Tea the food was delicious but nothing really special, but they have malt vinegar in small packets(so good with fries) i would recommend this location
I first got Splitzed at the original location in Whistler. I went on a recommendation from a local, and boy I was not disappointed. I thought it was the best burger I ever had and considered it one of the best places anywhere for a burger. Reader's Digest backed me up by rating it the best burger in Canada. I've seen other foodie sites rate the Splitz Grill as one of Vancouver's best and also tops in the country. I live on Vancouver Island, so whenever I get to Vancouver I make sure I get Splitzed for lunch or dinner. I always order a single stack beef burger. You can order up to the triple stack if you love ground cow. There is a menu to look at here if you want to see the selection. Everything is fresh and you can load your burger with all kinds of toppings like they do at Subway. They even have baba ganoush! Please open a location in Victoria. John Catucci you have absolutely gotta eat here!!!
They're vegetarian friendly! :D I tried the spicy lentil burger, which was a good portion and it tasted awesome, though it was lacking in the spicy department. Service was also relatively quick, no complaints about anything there. I have yet to try other options, and their ice cream menu :P
So my needle felting addiction is getting a little out of hand. It started off as a few animals with the intent of making gifts for friends, but now I find myself just having to make more…. MORE…. MOAAARRR!!!! Seriously, it has to stop. I’ve already spent hundreds of dollars on bloody needles and wool. What have I become!?!? Unfortunately materials are not only costly but also fairly difficult to find. Each store seems to have their own unique set of colours which means having to scour the city looking for just the right shade of colour for that certain project you’re working on. On the bright side, one store I found called Three Bags Full was over on Main Street which is right in the thick of a lot of places I’ve been wanting to eat at. Since I was driving and only had so much change with me, parking time was limited. Yes, I know I could have phoned it in, but I’m lazy. Anyway, after finding the colour Little Bunny was after (a bright pink to make her niece a set of Billy and Bam Bam dolls, and no, not the Flinstones character) we had just under a half hour remaining meaning we had to find something reasonably quick. We walked along Main street where we spotted a sign that read “Kanye 4 Prime Minister”. Obviously this was around the time of the elections and we both chuckled. I looked up and saw that we were in front of Splitz Grill. Beavis actually told me about them before and mentioned they were a good burger joint, so we decided to give them a go.

One of the best fast food burger joints in the city. Reasonable price, cooked in front of Ya, add all your fixings. Highly recommended especially if you're looking for lunch as 11:30-4 is their lunch special.

Put on your adult pants, because this is no place for boys and girls. All joking aside, Splitz Grill has some of the finest burgers you'll ever try. The ability to customize your burger in any which way, with various vegetables, sauces, cheeses and other toppings allows you to make your burger your way. This restaurant prides itself on keeping to the roots of the burger where it should be. Yes, the may have Fish and Chips, chicken and veggie burgers, which are all great, but this is a burgerhouse first. The thick-cut fries will remind you of how mum used to make French Fries and to top it off a cool soft drink or beer (don't drink alcohol kids) to wash everything down smoothly. Onion Rings are also an option, but more often than not you will be craving those fries. If I could change one thing, it would be to have the Lunch Special on weekends, just because I like the $3.99 pricetag. What can I say, I'm a penny pincher!
Great burgers. I really like how they have so many topping to choose from. Make sure you get the splitz sauce. The beef had great flavor and was cooked perfectly. They give you a good amount of fries too. Going to try the turkey burger next time.
Friendly and yummy. Worth a return trip for sure
Great Burgers!. Splitz always delivers a solid burger and I try to make my way down there once a month.
You can choose your cheese and toppings from a large selection including some unique ones, like babaganoush and tzatziki. The burger is char grilled just perfectly and turns out moist and juicy. The soft white bun compliments the meat and soaks up all the flavorful juices. It gets messy, but it's worth it! Fries are ok and the onion rings are pretty good with light crispy batter. The restaurant is family run so service is usually good but basic - it's a burger joint. Splitz is in my top 3 of Vancouver's best burgers.
Great burgers, great atmosphere and great value. There are not too many affordable places to eat at Whistler. This is a hidden gem!
Amazing. This place is a MUST when I am in the Vancouver area. Great food, atmosphere, people. I really enjoy the entire menu. The burgers are to die for. Chicken Strips are crispy and seasoned perfectly. I have made a fair few trips from Chilliwack JUST to get a Splitz Burger. Please don't ever change
Thank you
Mmmm good. People that prefer Vera's or PHAT burger...man you have no idea what you're missing. The pattys are fresh and juicy and the sauces are awesome. The garlicy mayo you are sooooooooo goooood. It's so tasty even the leftovers are good! Love this place. It's quaint and it's so good.
Avoid the double stacker.... All the condiments are very tasty, the dill pickles, mushrooms, onions, perfectly sliced tomatoe, bacon, shredded cheddar, alfalfa sprouts, and the yummy garlic, dill like mayo splitz sauce.... All those tastes are completly overwhelmed by the 2/3 of a pound double beef paties... Not to mention its impossible to fit the entire height of the burger in your mouth, shouldev went with the single patty burger! After you add a few extras the price can increase quite a bit too, my double stacker combo came to $16 then you chuck a tip in there and you got yourself a fairly pricey burger meal. The french fries are pretty good and for me resembled a fish and chips style fry, the recommended splitz sauce for a dip was a good idea too. However, with the large amount of options for burger meals (fast food, red robin, five guys, pubs and bars) I have a hard time recommending this spot.

I love the place, but... To any business:
Just because your employee looks trendy and dresses like a bum, doesn't meant you should hire them!
To be fair, Splitz is not as bad as many Main St establishments for this, but a simple smile and friendly demeanor goes a long way. It it wasn't for that, it would be my usual place. I'll pay more at my local watering hole thanks!
Good burgers.. Came here with friends. It feels more upscale than a Vera's or a Five Guys, but not as good as Romer's. The burgers were good, and I appreciate the toppings being done as you asked (even though it made things feel like a Subway). I can't say that I liked the fries and or rings as much, though, which was disappointing.
It's not a bad place, but it occupies a strange place for me - it's cheaper than Romer's, but not as cheap as Five Guys. But if you're looking for a good burger around the Main Street area, this is the place to go.
You better be hungry. I do love my burgers, and I am picky.
I went to Splitz Grill at lunch and even though it was busy they moved me through the line pretty fast.
I got the Splitz burger, onion rings and large diet coke.
you can have any toppings on it you want, there are about 50 to choose from. what ever you do make sure you get the Splitz sauce on your burger, it's what makes it different and amazing. I also asked for a side of Splitz suace for my rings which was no problem, no charge and that is way better than ketchup.
The price was fair, but the portions were huge, I only had a small dinner that night as a result.
The service is friendly, it seems like it's the owners who run the place because they work very hard and are very concerned about you being happy. Nice people, and the counter girl is hot obviously she works out. Next time I'm trying the Caramelized Banana Splitz, my girlfriend says its to die for.
Best Burgers/Hot Dogs in Western Canada. We spent 3 weeks on a roadtrip to Richmond to visit my sister and were directed to Splitz by someone at the Westin Hotel where we were staying. All I can say is that we miss going there and we've been back in Winnipeg for 2 weeks!!! My husband said his burger was the best he has had in ages and my hot dog was fantastic! Nice owners, clean restaurant, friendly atmosphere, great food ... what else can you ask for!? We look forward to returning!
Perfect pre-game eating. I've visited twice and the staff have been impatient at best, but it's worth running the gauntlet for the delicious, juicy burgers that are served at Splitz. Choose your toppings a la Subway (sorry for lowering the tone...), with bacon and cheese costing extra. Pick a combo and you also get treated to a generous serving of perfectly crispy fries and a soda.
I've been told to try the "amaaaazing!" milkshakes; that'll be up next, perhaps while perched on one of the stools that are lined up in front of the open, sunshine trap of a window.
This is also a great pre- (baseball) game spot, especially since the Nat is only a knight's move away.
A yes and no again? Not much suprise me!
Best "artisanal" burger. Of all the "artisanal" (a play on the word the French use to distinguish their hand-crafted breads from the mass-market machine-made ones) burgers I've had so far in Vancouver, this has been the best.
I went for the bison burger. It had a not quite "mealy" texture, but I could distinguish the individual filaments of the ground meat on my tongue. I mean that in a good way, because to me that's better than pureed glop. Flavour was better than regular beef, too, more tangy/gamey. Thanks to reading Urbanspoon reviews, I knew to scope out what toppings I wanted, and called them out to the line cook like an expert instead of someone who had never been to Splitz. It made for a nice, custom burger.
The fries were tasty, and the amount served with the combo option was sufficient. No need to worsen my waistline by up-sizing. Splitz' fries are coated with something that makes them uniformly crispy (but it's not one of the flavoured coatings.) Natural fries are best, but they don't always turn out perfect in the hands of inexperienced fryers, so this was a good alternative.
Props to Splitz' milkshakes, too. Made the old-fashioned way in a shake blender, with ice cream scooped right out of the freezer containers that you can see. I've had shakes that were too thin, and one in California that was actually too rich (chocolate AND peanut butter, my mistake). This one was perfect for everything but my weight.
Lastly, it was nice to sit at Splitz' counter facing onto the sidewalk and watch the parade of Main Street hipsters on a sunny Sunday. Much nicer than streetside eating somewhere like East Van, or East "Pan" as I like to think of it for all the panhandlers. I didn't get hit up for spare change a single time at Splitz!
Best Burger. This is by far the best burger I have ever had! I have been to Five Guy's, Ted Montana's, Red Robin, Jack in the box and Elevation burger. Splitz Grill tops them all! Their Buffalo is to die for and the special Splitz sauce is like no other!! I wish we had Splitz Grill in the USA!
Favorite Burger in town. Yup Splitz makes my favorite burger in town.
They take care of the grill and I take care of the toppings!
Its that easy. The fries are usually short and stubby. I wonder what they can do about that?
A Tasty Burger. I liked Splitz, I've only been once but if I'm on Main Street aching for a hamburger I'd go there again.
The staff are very nice, they forgot one of the toppings but were very gracious about it.
The burgers are HUGE, the meat is nicely done. and the topping variety is fantastic. and the fries were also good, I was absolutely stuffed from the burger and milkshake and I still kept trying to stuff myself even more with the fries.
Great place to go on a sunny day or if you've been out on the town or have been doing a workout and want a real burger.
One of the best gourmet burger shacks I've ever experienced. Their burgers are delicious! They even have their own signature sauce! I recommend this restauraunt to anyone who likes burgers!
HMMMM!. Great tasting burgers in an appropriate environment. Lots of variety in making your burger and a great mix of the neighbourhood eating there.
What's not to like? Sausage burger FTW and the fries are great too.
Better than Vera's. The thing I like about Splitz is its personalization. Vera take notes, not everyone's burger taste is the same and Splitz knows this and allows everyone to personalize the burger. No more trying to figure out which is the burger of best fit, just pick the meat and your fav toppings.

Probably one of the best burgers in Vancouver, but it's the toppings that make it great. I do feel the one in Whistler is better but it is the original one.
Vancouver's Best Burger. The best place I've tried for a burger in Vancouver. Bit expensive, but worth it. I love the bison burger!
Like a gourmet Harvey's. Great burgers; great fries; what else do you need? One of the top burgers in Van.
This family run restaurant, own and operated by a husband and wife team, is my guest’s favourite burger joint; and tonight it quickly became mine. The smell of fresh beef patties sizzling on an open grill is unmistakable. If you aren’t hungry walking in, the smell will surely get you there by the time you order. “Splitz’s” slogan and their claim to fame is that they are, “a true gourmet burger joint”. A message communicated by a chalk drawn sexy tomato. She also points our that, “at Splitz it’s not fast food, it’s good food” There isn’t anything fancy about this place. This isn’t a big chain, there isn’t any loud bells, or shiny whistles. It is just a good old fashioned burger joint. No detailed decor elements, no accent pieces. Just their history and origin story printed and framed behind a 5×2 1/2 sheet of glass. A self serve foundation drink machine sits at the end of the room, beside it a collection of packed condiments and plastic utensils. A few television screens are mounted t

Splits is set up to do one thing, and that is crank out burgs. Much akin to a cafeteria, they have somewhat of an assembly line approach to ordering and simple booths, benches and small tables. Whatever is lacking in interior design is more than made up for with the burger.
This burger was great – they use shredded cheese like another place I’ve been to and it really brings out the cheese flavour – makes sense – more surface area, more flavour. I couldn’t believe I ate the whole thing – it was really good. I wasn’t hungry for another 10 hours ! I would go back here any day and recommend it for anyone who likes burgers.
Splitz is a very casual establishment serving big, fresh, fast, make-it-how-you-want-it burgers
Rated the best burger place in Vancouver by Vancouverites, does Splitz Grill live up to its expectation? Vancouver isn't really known for having good burgers nor are the health-conscious Vancouverites known for eating a lot of burgers. The competition is pretty slim, and the consumers are apathetic . Being on the "wedding diet" for over a year, I am not exactly the burger expert either. The Lengendary Splitz Burger 2/3lb However, Splitz Grill definitely did not disappoint my high expectation, and their bur
Ordering in Splitz Grill is like a school cafeteria. You order then move down the line and pick the toppings and sauce you want for your burger. It was really nice to get to choose your veggies for your burger like Subway. They even had Alfalfas! DesignGi
A few days ago we made our way to Splitz Grill in 30 degree weather and arrived dizzy with hunger. These burgers were the perfect remedy to prevent our stomachs from shrinking any further since Splitz offers a wide variety of sauces and toppings and piles
We’d never been to Splitz Grill before – though the set up reminded me a bit of a Lick’s burger place in Ontario (though with less singing!). First you order your burger and meal options with the cashier, then follow your tray down the way where a ridicul
Lately I have been craving burgers, fries and milkshakes, quite a lot actually. So, the other day I made my 'on diet' friends to go see about these burgers at Splitz Grill . Ordering could take a bit of time for first
Maintaining his reputation as the man with the iron stomach, Stephen Fung decides to down a triple patty burger at Splitz Grill on Main Street.
I am not sure if I should have expected something different in their ordering process. I mean, why make it complicated? At the counter, tell what type of burger you want, what toppings, sauces/condiments, any other additional toppings and you are good to
Rating / 4 out of 5 stars Splitz Grill on Main Street is a relative newcomer to the burger scene in Vancouver (since 2007). They arrive via Whistler where they've been making noise for over a decade. Splitz' focus on fresh, simple ingredients and cook-to-
Ordering here requires you to go through the process of first placing your order at the front of the aisle. You then move on to the garnish station where you tell them the sauce and toppings you want. Most of the toppings are included in the price but som
This place is so good I have to force myself not to come here. I avoid taking Main St for that reason. If I lived in the area I'd eat here every day.
Great lunch specials and great beer deals makes me wonder how they turn a profit and why this place isn't packed to the gills.
A real hand made real beef burger with fresh toppings the way you want it washed down with a cool local beer. Throw in the chill ambiance and the cool owners and you have a winner.
Delicious homestyle burgers made fresh infront of you. Splitz fries were tasty, but soft drink should have been cheaper or could have had free refills. Overall was really enjoyable.
Burgers (beef or lentil) are a good value at lunch and an even better value on Throwback Thursdays. They are quite flavorful. I like the inventive sauces (hummus and babaganoush anyone?) and the fact that you can choose the toppings you want. Service can range from borderline rude to good. The tables could be a bit cleaner.
Delicious burger, and reasonably priced. That being said, charging for refills of self serve pop is unheard of in fast food restaurants now a days (.50c). This is why I can only give them a 4 star rating
This is a awesome little place, very clean facility and very welcoming. The staff are super friendly and the food is so good! I had the Bison burger and was very impressed, cooked to perfection, was amazing!! I also got the garlic fries they where also good but they are very oily, would be nice to be less oily but over all still good. I believe this place is a little pricey but for the quality of food and service I wouldn't mind coming here every once in awhile.
Great burgers especially lunch specials (beef or vege burger for $4.99) for the price conscious. They have a nice selection of toppings and sauces, so you can either go super crazy or very healthy. If you add combo then be ready to pay more than double the price. Service can be either rude or good, depending on who you'll get.
How did it take me so long to try this place? Great homemade/diner style burger (pick your patty, toppings and sauces; possibilities are endless), classic crisp fries. Tried the fried pickles and milkshake too... The best in the City! My new go-to burger place.
