The food quality here is comparable to Sura. Price-wise, this place is not cheap. I had the budae jjiga which was a good large portion, enough for two. I'm curious and willing to try their other menu items.
We order the set menu on the first page for 2 people: $25 each. There was a lot of food and we were definitely full at the end. Favorite dishes were the Miso soup-korean style and beef/rice noodle dish.
I really enjoy fusion cuisine. The ability to take two or more things that work, and bring them together to make something new and exciting. And in this case, the outcome was the inventive menu of “Kosoo”. Korean fusion with Spanish and Italian influences, made by french trained chefs. Today we have been invited down to their restaurant to try their new spring menu. A list worthy of printing out and posting on a banner outside their entrance. When it comes to a media event, plating and portion size may be gussied up and/or paired down, and the service will usually be top notch. Though I can at least paint you the most accurate image when it comes to the food and the setting, as how I interpret it. But as always, these are my opinions and you need not take them as fact. Unless you have my exact background, have lived my exact experiences, and we possess the same tongue; no one can truly taste and appreciate as you do.
Small but stylish Korean restaurant in the Westend. Was told it isn't a typical Korean restaurant. They have many items that I wanna try. We have ordered their dinner set to try. 9 course meal for two cost only $50, and you will not be disappointed. Will definitely come again to try other items on the menu.
Located in the westend, tucked away behind the busy Korea town of Robson is Kosoo, a Korean raw bar and kitchen. The cooking techniques are not of only Korean descent but rather influenced by both Japanese and French cooking so you will find that many dishes share the same Korean name but taste or look more unique.

Kosoo is a Korean fusion restaurant that incorporates elements from the Japanese, Italian and French cuisine. You can find dishes ranging from beef tartare which is infused with Asian flavors to fried bimbimbap balls which ooze with hints of Italy.
Having tried Kosoo’s flavorful $15 set lunch course once before, I had always wanted to try their other dishes. With the recent Korean fire chicken and cheese dish trending in the West coast, Kosoo has put out its own $35 cheese dakgalbi and alcohol promotion. Upon hearing cheese and promotions… I knew it’s time for another visit.
Overall, the food did not disappoint. The spicy chicken left us with beads of sweat on our foreheads and enough runny noses for the season—mildly painful but satisfying.
The service, however, was regrettably frustrating.
Most people have heard about Sura’s famous $15/$20 set lunch menu, but this unassuming Korean restaurant tucked away on Cardero Street has a similar deal going on for their lunches as well. After stalking their Instagram photos, I dragged M here on a Saturday afternoon to check this restaurant out.
The atmosphere and the food are both phenomenal. We didn't have a lot of experience with Korean food and the servers were extremely helpful and gave us plenty of tips. The Bibimbap, Hot Pot, Noodle Bowls, Wings, and Gnocchi were great.
Food is also SUPER affordable and I was surprised when my bill came. Drinks are also cheap and this place is open late! Great late night food option in the West End!
Perfect quality food for decent price in downtown Vancouver, especially the tuna tataki is a must try in Kosoo! Very friendly servers, and cozy environment. It's a very good place to get drinks and food after work. Will definitely return!
Kosoo Korean Kitchen
【Kosoo Set Course $15 per person/min 2 persons】
• Oyster
• Mushroom Salad
• Bibimbob Ball
• Kosoo Taco
• Japchae
• 24hrs Pork Belly
• Mackerel
• Beef Soy Bean Paste Soup
• Kimchi
• Green Tea Mousse
Got to try the lunch tasting menu today. The value is amazing - $15 for a great spread of food that will allow you to try different things. There were some pros (excellent, friendly service; sashimi salad; mushroom salad) and some cons (oyster was bland; bibimbop ball was too large to eat with refinement; soup was bland) but I overall enjoyed the experience. My favourite dish was the sashimi salad. It had a good balance between sweetness and acidity that was really pleasant. I may not order the tasting menu again but I love trying a little bit of everything from a new restaurant so I appreciated the concept. I would recommend it to my friends and I'm eager to return to try something else.
Just back from lunch at the tucked-out-of-the-way from Robson street Korean restaurant, Kosoo. They offer an "eleven course" set menu for $15 per person. With minor variation, it is essentially as shown in the photograph they have in the window. The photograph shows a four (4)-person portion, and most of the pictures in this review are also for four persons. It is possible that if you are just two persons, or just one person, you may get slightly more of some items such as salads.
It's good! I like the decoration here! And the food tasted fresh and delicious. I ordered a lunch box with sashimi. The sashimi was very fresh. The service here are nice. It is a good choice to have a meal here~ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ
Kosoo Korean in Vancouver’s West End. This trendy restaurant opened last April is barely a year old. It serves a mix of modern Korean, Japanese and French fusion style dish. Their Owner / Chef Han comes with a repertoire from Fairmont Chateau Laurier in Ottawa, Le cordon Bleu Signatures, and Provence Marinaside. If you are wondering where Kosoo is; it is located on 832 Cardero Street nearby Robson Public Market. Kosoo draws from tradition fermented sauces such as Gochujang (chili paste) and Denjang (soybean paste, similar to Miso) with modern execution.

this place is phenomenal. their $15 lunch set menu is a ridiculous amount of more upscale fusion korean food for an amazing price. if you don't get for the set menu, all the other dishes are delicious and good twist on korean classics. this isn't your typical korean place and yes the menu items are a little more pricey but the flavours stand far above other korean restaurants.
you must must go for the $15 set lunch but i bet you'll come back to try their other menu items as well.
Third time I've came to this restaurant in the past month and it's my new spot. The food is so good, and is pretty much guu but korean fusion style. I'm a huge fan of korean food and love how this place tries to change it up and modernize korean cuisine. Definitely try the beef tataki and the tacos.
I docked 0.5 score because they can work a tiny bit on their service to make it more prompt as I found myself waiting around a bit to order or ask for something
Very authentic Korean experience. Tasty and moderately priced. Had the pork rib udon soup which was a little tricky to eat, but delicious. Make sure to ask for their Kim Chi made in house- the best!
I really enjoyed he food at Kosoo! We came here for lunch one day and I thought the food was awesome, very delicious! I particularly enjoyed their calamari and the pork belly gnocci that they had on special! Very flavourful, and even the presentation was great. I would definitely come back the to try other things on their menu.
Great Korean food. Must try lunch - $15 set course. We tried another Korean place down the block for a similar lunch concept and this restaurant far surpasses! Every dish was delicious and you even get a dessert. I believe it was 11 courses. Great tasting food and great value.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!. I have been here a few times for lunch and have never been disappointed. The bipimbob is to die for here! Some of the best I have had in the city. There are many Korean/Asian style restaurants in the area, however I would recommend Kosoo over all of them!
The meal was very clean and healthy. I did not feel like it was greasy like many Korean places make their food.
As a Korean, Kosoo always gives me only good memories.
All the dishes seem to have paid a lot of attention, and the taste is also very good. The service is friendly and has a nice smile.
I went right before the last order, but thank you so much for treating me so kindly.
Very nice food, and resealable price.
The rice roll and Korian fry noodles are really impressive, Fried chicken too!
sadly no kimchi or little side dish come along with the main dishes.
I would give the food a 5 star but the service could definitely be better. There was one server for the entire restaurant and only 3 tables when my friends and I were there. My friends and I were waving our hands to order, but the server was too busy chatting with her friend to even notice us. We had to yell for her to get her attention after waving our hands for 10 minutes. She reluctantly came over and took our order then went back to chatting with her friend. Its very unprofessional of her and since the restaurant actually has good food they should train their staff to be better.
Carbs explosion 💥
Robson st have so many good Korean food. Kosoo has two locations and it has been popular for a while. I visited Kosoo’s old location with my friends and ordered their signature dishes.
🌟Jiajiang Tteok-Bokki🌟
This pot is mind blowing. It has: ramen+gyoza+sticky rice stripes+jiajiang sauce+fish cake. Name it carb 💣
Not too salty, huge portion and have everything you expected.
🌟Beef Tartare Bibimbap🌟
Yummmmm!!! I love this more that the pot! Rare beef’s natural sweetness and their special bibimbap sauce, yo I am mouthwatering editing this. They have fried eggplant as a topping, love love love
🌟Rice Wine🌟
Low in %, suitable for a refreshing drink. But so overpriced. Understandable though
Food was excellent and the service was great. The menu differs slightly from their other location.
Delicious delicious food! Nothing more to say here. Come hungry. Would love to recommend specific dishes but they are all in Korean and it’s hard to remember lol
