Tucked away off Marine Drive, but well worth the search.
While looking for a place to have dinner, Applesauce and Jalapeno suggested Dosa Corner. We have never been here and it had great reviews, so off we went! Chicken masala dosa: You can’t go to a place called Dosa Corner and not get a dosa. The dosa was delicious. The boneless chicken was so incredibly juicy and tender.
This place in Vancouver basically serves South Indian cuisine. We ordered their Butter Dosa and Mysore Dosa. The food was properly cooked and tasty. Their service was prompt and the ambiance of the place is quiet and soothing. Totally recommended if you're looking for authentic South Indian taste in Vancouver.
We were craving for South Indian food when we went to this restaurant in Punjabi Market and we weren't disappointed.
We tried their Mysore Dosa, Rava Masala Dosa and Onion Dosa and we were certainly satisfied with the taste. The taste was very much similar to the south indian restaurants in North India, and was good.
Their service was prompt and the ambience of the place is quiet which allows you to eat your food comfortably.
This place is recommended if you're craving for Dosas!
We are avid travelers. Being vegetarians we are always hunting for restaurants with good veg food. Plus in a day my husband has to have an indian meal. We found this restaurant and went there only for dosas. The dosa was above par. I am giving extra stars for the service. The first dosa they served was a bit burned on one side. The owner saw this and offered another one without charging for it.
Ambience is ok. But very authentic South Indian food. 👍🏻
Mysore masala dosa and onion rava masala dosa was really good. The ambience was okay, service was fine too. But the masala dosa was above par.
The food is amazing for sure! My favourite dishes are Palak Paneer Dosa and Chicken 65. However, the servers are very unfriendly and makes the experience super awkward each time I come there.
When we arrived around 5pm on a Friday, there were only two tables that were occupied. Later on, it slowly filled up with quite a number of take outs. The restaurant is simple with free parking out at front. I ordered the Butter Chicken $12.99 which is boneless girlled chicked cooked in a tomatoes and butter sauce. It comes with rice, naan, yogurt and papadum (cracker). The curry was rich and delicious. Great deal for $13! Sheepie ordered the Chicken Korma $11.99 which was the boneless chicken cooked in special spices, herbs and coconut milk.
Went one day because I was in the area and extremely hungry. I thought I would be trying out a new place, but turned out that I'd been here once before, a long long time ago. It's just really out of the way, especially if you only use public transport, and thus I had missed out on eating here more often.
In any case, I went in that day. Their lunch special time period had just ended (12-3.30 PM), but that's okay because all I really wanted was a plain dosa and some hot hot sambhar.
The place looked like it was maybe closed that day, as there was only one other person inside and the server/cashier was sitting in the kitchen.
Anyway, their food was great! Loved the crispy, fresh made dosa - that's the thing with dosa, you can't ever have it Not freshly made - the spicy, piping hot sambhar and the cool coconut chutney to offset it. In fact I so liked their coconut chutney, I asked for seconds. Service was prompt too. I'm just sad it is so far away from my place.
We took my mum here for her birthday, who is a bit of a dosa snob (she makes Dosa about once a week), and she gave it her seal of approval- said it was the real deal! The servers were so lovely and the food was so, so good. We will definitely be coming back.
Dosa Corner is a quaint little diner located in a primarily industrial area. As their namesake suggests, they specialize in dosas, which I had hoped to try for this visit, but silly me, I didn’t read the menu carefully and ordered something else entirely. In any case, it’ll be the subject of today’s visit!
Best dosas I've had in Vancouver. The flavour of the masala dosa was amazing, our favourite dosa of the night. Very tasty! Service was very quick and attentive.
Came here a few weeks ago with some coworkers. AMAZING food and great service. Affordable and they serve alcohol with a happy hour until 7 PM. Traditional and stuffed dosas.
The place is small but serves very good south indian cuisine. The dosas are awesome, authentic taste and worth visiting. Highly recommended for aouth Indian cuisine lovers.
We came here about 7:30 on a Friday night and the place was hopping. The two wait persons were having a hard time keeping up and the kitchen seemed a bit backed up. We had to be a little aggressive to get our order taken. But once we did, our beer and appetizer came out pretty fast. We ordered Chicken 65 and two dosas and had too much food for two. But it was all delicious. I don't know if they are the best dosas in town, as their sign out from says, but the food here is awfully good.
I often visit this because of two reasons..
1. They have some really nice dishes
2. This place is close to my work place and home.
They have really good collection of dosa and some other south indian dishes but other than that rest of menu isnt that good. The reason may be their chefs are only good at south indian food. I personally like chicken masaala dosa, spring dosa, podi dosa,spinach masaala dosa. Dont try chicken vindaloo dosa if you cant have spicy and hot food.
Iddli and vada sambar is nice and fresh. You can ask for extra sambar and coconut chutney and they bring it for you happily.
Briyaani and other non south indian dishes are not good at all.
Staff is less and lazy but for good food I can wait. Ambience is not appealing at all but
yes its clean. You will find mixed crowd here, not just Indian.
So....
Ambience 6.... Taste 8... Value for money 8....

Great food, will definitely be back for more.. We purchased an Entertainment Book from a school fund raiser, and are trying to really make the most of it. We spotted the voucher for Dosa Corner, read the reviews on Urbanspoon, and decided to give it a try. We were most definitely not disappointed. The food is fantastic! We had bhel puri and vegetable samosas to start. The bhel puri was fresh, flavour packed and just the right level of spices and seasonings and fresh herbs. The samosas were piping hot, crispy and not drowned in oil and grease. For the main course my other half had the paneer masala dosa. The dosa itself was light and crispy, the filling jam packed full of flavour. I had the lamb palak, which did not skimp on the meat, and was rich and warming and packed a delicate but amazing flavour, not overpowering any one ingredient so that you could taste the meat, the spices, the spinach - it was wonderful. The service was great too, the restaurant clean and neat. I also like the fact that the door and serving hatch to the kitchen are open, you can see where your food is prepared and that the kitchen area is also clean. Will we be back? - most definitely with or without a voucher. This is a great little place, a fantastic find - one that we will return to very soon! Highly recommended. My only regret is that after leaving I realized I didn't tip on the full value of the meal, only the discounted after voucher price. I will make it up next time, which will be very soon!
Yum. We were only two, we ordsred vegetable pakoras, full of flavour and veggies, not standard potato and caulflower, not overly fried; lamb vindaloo dosa, good spice, plenty of meat and a tinge of the curry flavour brought on by curry leaves;goat byriani the winner of the night, I am not sure how they pulled this off, this dish tasted as if it was braising all day, the flavors were rich and meat o plenty. I thought that it was the fat that made it taste so good but this morning when I took the leftovers out of the fridge, it did not have the hardened fat so frequently found in indian food. The three dishes were too much for two good eaters, bring three or four hungry people, next time we try the veggie dishes. Cleanliness I rate it an A, you can see the kitchenand bathrooms are spotless.
Best Dosas in Town!. Bar none these are the best Dosas I've ever eaten: crispy, ultra thin & the fillings are to die for. Also tried the oddly-named 'chicken 65' which were perfectly fried little nuggets of spiciness served with two flavourful chutneys. My new go to place for tasty Dosas. Vij should come here for dinner; he might take away some pointers.
Great south Indian food. I have been going to Dosa corner the past 6 months and thoroughly enjoy the food. My family is from south India so coming from someone who grew up eating dosas this restaurant definitely has one of the best dosas in the lower mainland when it comes to quality of ingredients, taste and price. It is a unique location where parking is limited and if go late at night it is not the greatest neighborhood but I guess that allows the restaurant owner to keep the price low. I have introduced this restaurant to my Filipino, Chinese and Caucasian friends and they all have enjoyed eating the food. Definitely 5 stars!
Perfectly balanced meal. We were so satisfied with our meal- lamb vindaloo dosa was excellent- huge, light and fluffy with lots of tender meat, delicious chutney (comes with 2 chutneys and sambar). It could have been more spicy, as it was labelled "hot" on the menu. The chicken korma was perfectly balanced and creamy and came with papadoms, rice, naan, and raita. Spicy, fresh, cooling, sour, crunchy, sweet, spiced - every element was covered. Super reasonable. Clean restaurant and kind staff. Will definitely be back. Just wish the tea wasn't $2.75. I don't want water with Indian food.
The eggplant dosa was fantastic. The sambar is the most authentic South Indian sambar I have ever tasted in Vancouver. Pretty much the same taste as the one back home.
Amazing, delicious food, reasonably priced especially at lunch. We'll definitely be returning.
Came here with the family and we had 3 dosas and two curry's. Everything was delicious, especially the goat pepper curry.
The staff was nice and brought extra sambar several times!

Dosa Corner has a huge selection of vegetarian and meat dosas so it took us a while to decide what to get. All the dosas are served with sambar (a tamarind-based soup) and chutney.
We ordered take-out late in afternoon. They were punctual with the food. It took about 15 minutes. The chicken and goat curry, AlooGobi and Dosa were delightfully delicious. We will definitely be back and try the many other dishes.
Food was great. They had dine in and take out/pick up options. The food took a while to come out of the kitchen though. It seemed like the pickup orders had more priority than dine in or maybe we were just a hungry bunch. The paneer dosa was worth the wait. It was sooooo good. The chicken dosa was ok. Overall it was good food. Service was great and true indian feel.

Awesome hospitality. Awesome food . Authentic dosa place . Must visit if you like authentic South Indian food in Vancouver
Ordered the masala dosa and paper masala dosa. What's the difference? I'm not too sure hahaha. The paper dosa looked a little bit bigger and the masala was in a bowl rather than inside the dosa. Both were delicious and very filling. A great deal as mine was $9.99 and the paper dosa was $12.99.
Parking lot only had a few spots reserved for the restaurant but there's street parking as well. No dividers between tables but we were there at 5pm so there was only one other table.
Ordered a goat korma to go as well 😊

This place is packed in evening so prepared to wait for roughly 15 minute for a table. This place is quite popular as you can tell that people who come here are locals. The food is tasty and fresh.If you are not a big eater I recommend sharing the dosa with a second person as it could be heavy for one person. Plus it won’t be great eating afterward if you think of packing to go. I ordered the eggplant dosa. It was a bit of a wait probably 20 minutes as it is made fresh and tasty. You get a little side of tomato chutney, mint coconut chutney and a veggie soup.
