We needed a stop off for something bitter after lunch (as one does) and hubby decided to push for something sweet too. Was NOT expecting this. The coffee was well made and delicious, the Chai Latte was also pretty bomb. But dang those doughnuts... Mine was freshly glazed and the apple and bacon fritter was incredible, not overly sweet but just scrumptious!
Sheepie and I have been coming to this cafe for a while. Sheepie loves donuts, so we started off with Timmy’s donuts. Then it was Breka. Then moved onto Cartems. Now it’s consistently 49th. He can’t get enough of them, lol. Forty Ninth Parallel Cafe & Lucky’s Doughnuts is a hipsterish cafe on the corner of Main and 13th. It’s always bustling with people chatting, on their laptops or reading a good book. I especially like the booth (which there is unfortunately only one of), that gives you a nice private table and seems to bounce of the sounds of the crowd away. The four sofa seats are nice, especially during the winter time when the fireplace is burning. It’s very cosy, but the noise level can be quite high for my comfort level, hence liking the booth and sofa area, not just for physical comfort.
The lucky’s donut is one of the best choices in Vancouver. And the coffee, food, atmosphere, seating and music are all good. We enjoyed a short break in 49 parallel at afternoon. Definitely I will bring my HK friends to there again.
There's a large variety of beverages.Almost all are great.
Ambience is great and so is the service.
Hygiene is well taken care of and so is the presentation of drinks!!
This coffee and doughnut shop has nice doughnuts. I wanted a cold drink as well, but they were expensive; nevertheless, they did have a good combo deal where I got a doughnut and a cold brew. I wish I could find cold brew in Abbotsford; it is a great drink for those who don’t really like hot coffee. The doughnuts are really tasty with just the right crispiness.
initially interested in finding this coffee shop because of the high zomato rating. the place is located on the hook, very strategic. and when it comes inside it turns out that the visitors are very crowded. with industrial design then selling all types of coffee from seeds to the coffee menu served, complete with a variety of choices of milk that we want like almond milk. all available here. besides, donut with a variety of flavors is served as companion friends drinking coffee to complement the character and taste of this place. we order various kinds of donut. and tastes good. but the latte that I ordered felt bitter on my tongue. and also that cool coffee machine with the brand name was caught my attention!
After dinner at Meet On Main, we decided to walk the food off cuz everyone was so full (but really we were looking for a dessert place). Anyhoo someone was craving for donut so we stopped over at 49th Parallel Cafe. We ordered the apple bacon fritter, creme brulee, and some kind of berry jam filling donut. Despite the excessive powder sugar on the berry jam filling donut, I actually thought it's the best donut out of all 3 and I'm usually not a big fan of donuts with fillings. It went well with the cold brew coffee too.
We finally have a chance to update our blog post on Forty Ninth Parallel since we last visited bout 3 years ago. I came on a Friday morning so it was not as busy as on a weekend. I was able to find plenty of seating to choose from. They also have several large tables outdoors too if you want to catch some fresh air.
I went there couple of times, coffee was good! Especially doughnuts was awesome!!! All of barista was friendly I love this mood! I recommend order to coffee with doughnuts. Chocolate doughnuts! Lol
Went here for hot chocolate and a donut for the first time. I really like the 70% dark hot chocolate. I think the donuts here are better then Cartems.
