We made reservations in advance using OpenTable which was easy to use. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful during the two visits we made (whilst on vacation) even when faced with my allium allergy. Only one server wasn't as helpful but for all I knew she could have been simply been having a "bad day" or had never had to deal with a customer with severe food allergy before. The food was great and we loved the Kava drinks, especially the cocktails (non-alcoholic). My husband is an open-minded omnivore and he really enjoyed the vegan food and admitted that it really surpassed his expectations. We will definitely visit again next time we're in Vancouver.
My son had the pancakes and cleaned his plate! He is a picky eater and this was a hit! My dad and I split the tacos and the quiche. The quiche was out of this world! And the tacos were just amazing! Def recommend this vegan restaurant!
Very cool place. The food was amazing. We couldn’t stop talking about it after we had left. Their raw burger was something I’ve never had before, and will definitely be getting again when we’re back in BC.
This is one place that I want to try for long time. I went there with a group. Everything is homemade & gluten and soy free - raw vegan.
1 small Kale Caesar Salad (massaged kale in a cashew caesar dressing. Topped with cashew parmesan, oat crisps and coconut bacon) - the flavor is decent, I prefer kale is more break down, maybe soften with salt more.
2 raw tacos (ground sunflower seed "beans", fresh guacamole, Pico de Gallo, cashew queso sauce in homemade dehydrated taco shells made from zucchini and red pepper) - This is my favourite, perfect combination for flavour and everything.
3 Mini triple chocolate torte (cacao and walnut crust, avocado fudge with coconut flakes, home made coconut whipped cream and fresh strawberries) - This is really good and health dessert, it is just a bit too rich for me to finish the whole thing. More like vegan cheese cake. I prefer if it is lighter more like mousse will be perfect.
4 "Beet the Stress" Kava cocktail (House made blend of beets, carrot, apple, orange, ginger, ginseng & rhodiola powder and Kava Kava elixir) - decent. Interesting flavour.
The environment is very nice. Overall, it is good vegan place.
Food was great at the time I visited. Some items on the menu even went towards feeding children and the ability to support local charities directly from the store was nice. A bit pricey but hey, that's Vancouver for you.
The food is so good! I had there raw burger and soup and it was awesome. The service is great! I had to take the burger and soup to go because I couldn't finish it. I can't wait to go back 😁
I love it here. Vegan, delicious, swanky, good vibes, good staff. Delicious food. Pancakes, quiche, tacos are all next level.
I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this place. The food is unique and deliberate... I would say masterful. The service is very professional. The atmosphere is upscale and the prices are too, but this might be the nicest vegan eatery in Western Canada. I hope to return!
I love this vegan cafe for brunch. It was delicious. I haven't tried their lunch or dinner yet, but I plan to soon.
Great quality food although a little on the small size for portions and I'm not a big eater.
I loved this place mainly for the vibe and ambiance! They have positive affirmations everywhere and they really embody what a vegan lifestyle is all about-- compassion and love. Not to mention their food was amazing. I've been to many vegan restaurants, and although I wouldn't call this the best vegan food I've ever had, it's the best that combines the healthy side of veganism with flavor. The only other vegan restaurants that trump Zend in flavor would be the "junk food vegan" ones, so this is definitely somewhere I would love to come back to.
