I held my sister's Birthday here Friday night! & the service was awesome! Heidi, our server, was so personable & great... she knew everyone's names in our party of 25 people. She even watched for the perfect moment to bring our the decadent chocolate birthday cake (they made!!) The drinks were great.. and tapas delish! Everyone had a great time and were raving about the venue & service. Highly recommend hosting a party here! Great atmosphere!
From the reservation & party details with the lovely office coordinators,... the set up of balloons etc to awesome service that night.. everything was sooooo great!
We all definitely recommend Grain Tasting Bar for you next party! Or just for drinks after work. Great place!!!
Thanks so much Grain! And thanks to Heidi for making it such a fun night!
Very cool space. The drinks were awesome...made with fresh ingredients! The bartenders were very friendly, too. Great experience!
Great place great staff great drinks and appies. Loved it
Love the drinks and the meat and cheese board. Disappointed after the last visit to find out that the meat/cheese board is now no longer available until after 4:30 pm. This was always a go-to place for lunch and drinks. Hope this changes so we can continue to come here to taste a range of local meat and cheese (as well as great drinks).
Great food, wine and views although pricey.....we will be back!
Absolute gem of a place. Really nice staff on hand, food is quality and the drinks are solid.
Nice place to hangout in the evening. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Great place to gather with friends to have some casual drinks, beer/wine/liquor tastings and food while over looking the patio or even watch a sports game. Neat little modern place tucked in the Hyatt Hotel downtown.
Alcohol menu is extensive and love how they focus on local products. Cocktails are delicious. My new fave is the Sea to Sky..super refreshing! They also offer beer, wine, vodka, gin and whisky flights.
Food was quite delicious. Cheese and charcuterie platter was fresh and came with bread, nuts and spread. BBQ chicken pizza had a nice thin crust with a hint of smokiness. Avocado was a nice touch. Tuna sliders were nice and light..however the buns were a little cold and hard and also could have used more flavour.
Service was moderate. Server could have checked in more often. Some water would have been nice considering the warm weather.
Definitely will come back for a night out!
Grain Tasting Bar has impressed me as a premium lunch spot in the heart of Downtown Vancouver. The food is simple but beautifully prepared with local seasonal ingredients. The Tuna Sliders are highly recommended, as they are some of the best that I have ever tasted. I'm looking forward to coming back here for the cocktails on their extensive bar menu. And I will make sure to grab one of the tables by the window, where I can get an amazing view of the city centre.
I appreciate a restaurant with a small, well executed menu. The vermicelli prawn salad was super fresh, light and balanced in flavour. It was exactly what I was craving. I asked them to add chicken and they delivered it as if it was originally apart of the dish, nicely sliced into the salad. This shows the chef respects the art of cuisine and didn't must throw and chicken breast on top. Service was also excellent. Very friendly, quick, genuine, but not over bearing.
Our night of hotel bar hopping ended here, and there was no better place for satisfying snacks after several empty cocktails glasses later. Located at the Hyatt Regency Hotel by Burrard skytrain station. It’s location made them an easy drinking destination and its title lured you in. Therefore, it’s not surprising to see that their drinks menu was extensive. But not just beer, like their name suggests, but they also had plenty of wine and cocktails to choose from too.
Just popped in for drinks tonight. Short wait, friendly service, and I thoroughly enjoyed my drink (the Honey and Basil). Highly recommended if you're feeling like drinks and appies with friends.
One of my new favourite lounges! Just recently renovated to become an open-air lounge. The lounge has a masculine feel and maintains a good balance between classy and casual. The charcuterie board was impressive for its price and was nicely presented. Service was phenomenal & the manager even came to ask how everything was! Will definitely go back for patio drinking or late night snacking
Definitely. Good craft brew options - don't miss the chicken pizza !
Meat and cheese platter is outstanding! The pizzas are great too. Go for the atmosphere. Open to the street below...great place for drinks and to people watch. Excellent service, food, and drinks.
...it was imperative we had an early 4:00pm dinner. BUT .. You wouldn’t believe how long it took for me to find a restaurant that was open at this time!...Luckily, I ... found GRAIN TASTING BAR to be opened all day. And boy did it not disappoint!
This brain-buzzing concoction was the Apple Jack , made with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee whisky, St. Germain elderflower liqueur, apple juice, fresh lemon juice and Angostura bitters. To be honest, I’m not a drink aficionado⦠so all I can say is that this one tasted good :) Sorta like an adult juice box – not too strong. EatingWithKirby got the Bangkok

The central bar is elegant and simple, as you watch your Mixologist serve up a beautiful cocktail. The area in the back are booths with integrated media panels (televisions) – one for every booth. Again, very beautiful design. Now, the ‘patio’ area is a open air concept with their windows being able to be rolled to either ends to create the al fresco vibe. This is perfect for those who want fresh air and want to people watch.
This is not your average hotel bar with a focus on stylish decor, local craft beer, and Ocean Wise seafood. Grain offers an interesting selection of charcuterie, mixed cocktails, and a lounging atmosphere in the heart of Vancouver’s financial district.
Although Grain Tasting Bar is located within the Vancouver Hyatt Hotel in Downtown Vancouver, it aims to stray away from what you’d imagine a traditional hotel restaurant to be like. The renovations made in Fall of 2012 provided a much needed facelift and a modern rebrand to the restaurant now known as Grain Tasting Bar. Recently, Grain launched their brunch menu, with five eggs benedict dishes alongside salad and sandwich options. To promote their new brunch menu, Grain is offering a free eggs benedict brunch to the Ben’s of Vancouver in the month of February. Yes, you read correctly: if your name is Benjamin, Benedict, Benji, Benoit or any other variation of “Ben”, you will receive a complimentary eggs benedict with breakfast potatoes. (Note: a minimum of one paying customer per table and a maximum of one free benny per table). Dungeness Crab Benedict On the first weekend of this month-long promotion, I went to check
Fantastic drinks! Food looked great, but we were just stopping in for a snack and only has the hummus. Both the pita and hummus were wonderful. Food menu is a bit limited during covid times still, but very large drink menu and great tasting cocktails
I always love coming for the drinks at Grain. They have handcrafted cocktails that always vary to keep the menu interesting. I still tend to order my favourite drink when I’m in - an Old Fashioned. It always tastes great but for a nicer cocktail bar, it still shocks me that as a cocktail bar they do not have large ice cubes for the Old Fashioned when the local chain restaurants nearby offer it for the full experience. Michael, Drew, and Christina are always wonderful whenever I visit, they’re another reason I keep coming back with friends.
Wings are a must try - super crispy, served hot, and delicious. Sweet potato fries are amazing too. Crispy, with sharp cheese on top, and paired with a bomb chipotle aioli. So good.
Just went for cocktails and they were amazing! I had the Pina Picosa which was so good! Almost our server Alyssa was great! Will be going back here again!
