It was a few years back when we were there but it was incredible. Wonderful wine list, creative dishes and a nice setting made our evening perfect. Super friendly staff and a place we will go to again when back in Vancouver. Whenever I hear someone is going there I recommend this establishment.

Walking by decided to try the $10.00 lunch specials. The Yum Salad left a lot to be desired, small portions. Pad Kee Maow Thai noodle dish was not one of the best I have had. Goong Ma Muang shrimp dish was generous and tasty, shrimp done just right. Waitress was informative and friendly which made the meal pleasant. For a low cost Yaletown lunch, worth a try.

I am a Chef in from out of town to open a restaurant and I went for a walk in Yaletown only to come across this little Simply Thai Restaurant. There are award stickers from magazines etc... covering the front door but I have learned not to trust them and wanted to be the judge. I ordered the Tom Kha Talay spicy and I can honestly say it is the absolute best Thai food I have ever had. It's phenominal, the flavors are so precisely balanced, the seasoning was perfect, the seafood was impeccable and the mussels in the soup were the biggest I have ever seen. I believe the portion is for two but I unapologetically  ate the entire thing. I am only sad I discovered this place on my last evening in town, I will return soon.

The food was very tasty. Loved the tom yum goong soup with seafood. There was more broth than seafood though. My entree was a salmon panang with coconut rice and my companions was a duck curry with jasmine rice. Although the salmon was a tiny bit fishy and not as flaky and soft, the curry flavours with coconut milk was very tasty. The ambiance was cozy and a little dark but overall we thoroughly enjoyed our food. The price was reasonable at $18 - 20 per plate and the drinks were also reasonably priced. We would be back to try more dishes from the menu.

Really good food! Keep in mind they mean it when they add the red chilies at the side of the menu! Mine was hot but delicious. Very hip environment. Crowded but good energy. I'd eat here again when I'm downtown.

Taste of Yaletown. This time we tried the "Thai Traditional Menu" - $35 per person, minimum of 2 people, including appetizers, soup, main course, and dessert.

On the Plate Starter, the Chicken Satay & Cho Muang were ok.

For main course, you have to choose the meat (beef, pork, or chicken). We chose beef for the Massaman Curry & pork for the Gra Paow, served with Jasmine Rice. The beef curry was yummy, but the pork in the Gra Paow was a bit touch to chew. Pad Thai was good, too.

The Tom Yum Goong soup was excellent. LOL I hope they have a bit more for us...

Last but not least, the dessert - Banana fritters with choice of mango, coconut, or vanilla ice cream. They were too busy and ran out of coconut ice cream. We chose the mango flavor yet I still preferred coconut (hope they have it back next time). The banana fritters were yummy though.

Overall speaking, still a very nice dining experience. Forgot to say, the server and the owner were both very friendly. Give them 2 'likes'!

Hit and miss. A medium heat can mean anything from day to day. One day it is mild and another day it is overpowering.

Thai your way. I liked that I was asked how spicy I wanted the entree. I had mine medium and I'd saw it was. All the dishes looked good. I had tofu and it was a delight. Perfect portions, a local beer. Excellent!

Good Enough Thai Food. Along with Urban Thai Bistro, Simply Thai is one Yaletown's staple Thai Restaurants.

The ambiance is simple but clean and well laid out.

The service is always friendly and fast.

I always order the same things:

Pad Thai (The Real Way) - Pan-fried Thai rice-noodles in tamarind sauce with shrimp, eggs tofu, green onions, bean sprouts and ground peanuts.

Gai Pad-Ped - Sautéed sliced chicken with bamboo slices, bell-peppers, green onion and chili sauce and fresh Thai basil leaves.

Chicken Satay for a starter and, of course, steamed rice.

The food is good but not great. If you ask, they will spice the chicken dish up a bit and give it more zing. It is also consistent. I've never had a bad meal there. On the other hand, I've never had a particularly outstanding meal there either.

In the end though, if you are in Yaletown and want some Thai food without venturing too far out, Simply Thai will do the trick.

Food at Simply Thai was great! They know how spice it up and still maintain subtle flavors of herbs and other ingredients. Coconut rice was delicious.

I didn’t think I could enjoy curry again, this was after an traumatic and explosive childhood experience with the yellow stuff. But here at “Simply Thai” I grew a new appreciation for the spice. And now as I wrote this have a clawing craving for some more. Walking in on a Monday night meant no need for reservations, and parking right out front. I was even able to grab one curb side, across the street to avoid the slanted reverse stalls Yaletown is known for. This was one of those places that you got hungrier walking in, it smelled that darn good. Ironically this was not our intended destination as my guest miscommunicated the wrong address, actually intending the one up the street instead. None the less we enjoyed our conclusion, and agreed that its slightly higher rating on urbanspoon was well deserved. Coming up to the door you are greeted with signage advertising “Chef Grace’s new creation”, in coloured copying. It is a picture of your chef posing with said dish and the dish as is b

...I am not saying this is a bad restaurant but you just need to have the right expectation. The BBQ duck is exactly what you expected. Tasty and lots of flavors with lots of bamboo shoots to bring out the sweetness. A very decent dish with the coconut rice.

Friend who works in Yaletown recently discovered this new Thai place by his work and he would not stop talking about having it too often, which made me craved for Thai really bad. I even googled up Thai restaurants downtown and to my surprise, there aren't that many and I've been to almost all of them already. So finally I said we'll be having Thai food for lunch and that's that. Inside Simply Thai is located close by the Yaletown-Roundhouse skytrain station. Most tables were occupied when we got there. We

Good restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. The dishes were delicious and satisfying. Do not allow to substitute ingredients (I asked to download broccoli and replace mushrooms and did not agree). Service was fine. Reasonable prices.

Cozy small place in Yaletown. Been here for years. True to their name,. they serve simple Thai cuisine. We tried the special prawns, deep fried and served with shredded onion? Fresh and not so greasy. The Tom Tan soup with creamy coconut vegetarian was filling . What I liked was the green chicken curry with bamboo shoot. The spinach dish just so so. Of course, service was wonderful.
