Sinfully good .. perfectly made. I got a chance to try three of them and all three were great . Though the waiting might let down a few , but it was worth waiting .

Had desserts with 7 friends at this place and our experienced was very good. The place was very nice and got seated at the patio. The staff are friendly and helped us in cleaning a spillage and even replaced the spilled drink. We ordered and shared 6 waffles to try and they’re very good. Very reasonable price. Highly recommended to try.

The best waffles in the whole wide world! Fresh waffles right out of the grill! Loved their orange mousse and chocolate waffles, Bresilienne was amazing too! Highly recommend this place to go out with friends or a cozy date!

“Nero” serves both savoury and sweet waffles which are handmade daily. These waffles are so light that they melt in your mouth. After trying both the Liege and Brussels waffles, I preferred the Brussels waffles as it was a perfect combination with the fruit toppings that I had. Either way, I would say this is a MUST try place for breakfast!

The better of the two Neros, hands down. The menus differ and this location has the better one. The layout of the place is lovely- there's booths, tables and a patio outside. Serve alcohol, coffees and savoury and sweet waffles. My go to is the Banella (sp?). Service has always been friendly. Will be back soon.

It turns out Vancouver is a big waffle town and I like waffles. I had my eye on one of the best spots for waffles in Vancouver, Nero Belgian Waffle Bar, for a while. Finally it was my chance to eat there and I was looking forward to it. They serve both Liège and Belgian Waffles and they have two locations in Vancouver. Decisions, decisions. But if they involve waffles there's no problem. The Robson St. location is small with limited seating, with a counter service style. Then the Seymour St. spot is sit-down and serves cocktails.

When I get a sweet tooth ✨, I always go to @nerowafflebar for their 👄💦 Belgian waffles. My go to is the Bresilliene on Brussels waffle vanilla 🍨, whipped cream, caramel and hazelnut 🌰 crumble 👉🏼

First there were cupcakes. Then there were donuts. Now there are waffles? Or maybe waffles have just been here all along. With two locations in Vancouver and Westender naming them as the #1 Best Waffles 2017, I had to give Nero Belgian waffle bar a try. We decided on their Downtown location, the larger of the two, as our intentions were to make an entire dinner out of our visit (as opposed to only a cafe/dessert type of experience). Waffles for dinner? It can be done and Nero proves it.

I had expected the restaurant to appear quite casual and cafe-like, but to the contrary this space was modern and a lot more design-focused than I would have guessed. Warm wood tones and beautifully sculpted booths catch the eye, while dim lighting adds to the cosmopolitan feel. The open kitchen is very large and acts as a focal point. I had heard that the wait times can often be long, however we were seated at a booth immediately on the Saturday evening of our visit. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable, and even had a French accent himself!

This location is particularly more fun out of the two because this one serves alcohol. Their cocktails sound like they would match the waffles very well. I simply chose the Lavender London Fog ($4.50) because I enjoy this drink a lot. This was a really nice version of a London Fog and the lavender flavour came through in a delicately perfect way. I found this to be a good compliment to the type of food that I was about to eat.

Nero prides themselves on making everything in-house and from scratch using the freshest natural and local ingredients, complemented with specialty ingredients from Belgium. You can easily see this process in action, as it is openly on display. You should also know that Nero offers two types of Belgian waffles: Liège and Brussels. The difference? Liège waffles are more round and originate from the south of Belgium. They are made from a brioche dough with chunks of pearl sugar incorporated into it. These sugar pearls caramelize when baked at the right temperature in the cast iron waffle iron. This waffle is soft, sweet and chewy. Brussels waffles are rectangular and are prepared with an egg white and yeast leavened batter. Cooked in special cast iron waffle irons at a high temperature, these waffles turn out light and crisp. When in doubt, try both!

There are four savoury waffle offerings on the menu (they all sound delicious!) and that constitutes dinner if you ask me! I really liked the sound of the Liège aux Fromages (Grilled 4 cheese savoury liège waffle with spicy tomato chutney and arugula salad - $9.00). I also added crispy prosciutto ($2.50) because everything is better with prosciutto, of course. I didn’t realize it upon ordering, but this dish is essentially a waffle grilled cheese sandwich, served with ketchup and all. It was delicious and a wonderful combination of salty and sweet with a bit of heat. The waffle itself was sweet, delicious and cooked perfectly. I loved the embedded sunflower seeds. Inside was an oozing array of melty cheese as well as bits of prosciutto. I dipped many bites into the spicy tomato chutney (ketchup) and everything about it was a dream come true. The greens that were included were a lot more than a boring side salad. Firstly, the whole thing was generously covered in even more prosciutto, so crispy and salty and good. The arugula was well dressed and there were nuts and cucumber involved as well. This entire dish was exciting and fun. Next time I would like to try the smoked salmon one!

We couldn’t ignore dessert in a place like this. There are several options offered with fruit (which would be great for breakfast) and also several that are served with homemade ice cream (perfect for dessert). While the Banella Brûlée sounded amazing, we chose the Speculoos (Vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, speculoos cookie spread - $8.90). You get to choose which type of waffle that you would like used, and we chose the liège for its sweetness. What is speculoos? It’s a type of spiced shortcrust biscuit, similar to gingerbread but lighter and crispier. It’s very popular in Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. This dessert was very good and came with an enormous scoop of ice cream. Decadent and sweet, the crunch from the cookie worked well with the chewy waffle and creaminess of everything else.

I would absolutely return to Nero. Their waffles are delicious and they are doing fun and interesting things with them. You can even pop in and pick up mini liège waffles to go. The prices are reasonable and the overall experience is very good. Enjoy waffles in a way that you never have before! It’s the new craze!

The new location of Nero Belgian Waffle Bar opened up a while back and I finally checked it out. I no longer need to trek to the West End to get my waffle fix! The new location is on the corner of Seymour and Nelson and it’s a lot more spacious aka less waiting! This Nero’s felt more cozy with the red brick-coloured walls and chair cushions; and the dim lighting. They have some snug looking window booth seats and also patio seating as well.

Amazing place to satisfy your sweet cravings! The sweet and crispy waffles were amazing! Light and just the right amount of flavour and textures. We enjoyed them so much that we came back for brunch another day! The savoury waffles were also very good! Great service and delicious food!

Nero is a must visit if traveling to Vancouver!! Awesome and friendly staff who would check up on their customers to make sure everything is good! Waffles are always perfect and delicious whether you get sweet or savory. It does get very busy so I recommend coming before/after the lunch rush or making a reservation. If there is a wait for dine in, staff would make sure to write down your name and contact you to let you know when your table is available! Also their prices is more than reasonable than other dessert places in Vancouver.

Such a great experience. There was a short wait and the outside tables were very nice. The staff is all very sweet and helpful with suggestions and explanations of the menu. I ordered the lemon ricotta waffle and it was very good. The hot chocolate was amazing and my favorite the I got I ordered! They melt actually chocolate down and they had a variety of alternative milks to choose from. A great choice for a breakfast or brunch.

There was a bit of a line up to get in but sooooo worth the wait! Both savoury and sweet waffles were made to perfection. The grilled cheese waffle was really nice, I got a soft poached egg on the side and they did them perfectly.

Came by a while ago for some waffles and they did not disappoint. The server was especially helpful in explaining the offerings and even gave us some tips on some add ons to heighten the texture and flavours for our selections. A perfect treat for any day.

TRY THE RASPBERRY PETITE WAFFLE! 😋 We had a wonderful experience with Nero. Great customer service. Clean environment and helpful staff. Outside sitting was warm and comfy. Great presentation. The waffles were fresh and delicious. I just wish the had decaf espresso shots for their drinks too. Overall a wonderful experience. Definitely recommend and will go back soon!

Great waffles brunch place. Very Friendly staff. Our server spoke 4 languages! There was a ~30min wait on a Saturday around noon. The outdoor covered seating was actually pretty warm with their radiative heaters. Presentation was great. And the food tasted good as well. All dishes served on light crispy waffles instead of bread. We had the smashed avocado and Benny with salmon. They have some interesting sweet waffles for sure. We had raspberry and almond-chocolate. Indulge your sweet tooth.
