Love this place! So worth the transit from Tsawwassen. Great coffee and atmosphere. The staff are kind and welcoming and their coffee knowledge is extensive. Ps. the hanging plants are a nice touch. gives the place a cool earthy vibe.
Seriously THE BEST! The atmosphere is beautiful with the use of natural elements to create a warm and welcoming space. The service is on point and friendly. And every beverage and bite is well crafted. It’s obvious the good intention behind the place and the community it continues house and foster!
Nemesis has won my heart! So far in my experience this is Vancouver’s best coffee shop. Friendly and knowledgable staff and incredible coffee.
Love the space and the friendly staff at this coffee shop! Had a latte and it was great. Would like to try their food for my next visit!
What a lovely coffee experience!! Just popped in right at closing( didn't realize) we were treated so well! Coffee was out of this world delicious..potentially the best! Treats were to die for and 50%off since we were last customers. We will be back!
Pants down one of the best coffee shops I've been to in my life. Amazing people, amazing food and insane coffee.
The squash and burrata agnolotti was amazing and the mocha was delicious. Nemesis had awesome vibes and super friendly staff!
Excellent pour over coffee. Best ever. Worth the $$ if you're a coffee afficianado. Pretentious? A wee bit, but like I said, they sure make a great cup of coffee....
How incredible your staff was when I came by with 4 kids. Offered me a delicious macchiato and helped my kids pick out some cookies. I will be back kid-free to enjoy your establishment fully!
You need to go! If you don’t I question your love of coffee...
Seriously, I don’t have the time to think about what you think about coffee but this place was recommended and it was fantastic. And super cool to watch the people in action. We’re going back next time we’re in Vancouver. Espresso/americano was great and my wife had their house made almond milk which was super. Take the time, make the time. They are super nice, too.
The best lattes in the area. Service is always professional, courteous and the staff clearly love what they do. Nemesis has created a community that I love to be a part of. Their baked goods are great as well. Thanks guys!

Loved their friendly staffs and their mocha (double shots), ohhh so smooth and ! Try their pistachios pastry, yummy!
Best coffee in Vancouver, they make an amazing cortado Australian approved!
A bit pricey but they have the best french toast i have ever had in my life. Mindblowing french toast I wouldn’t mind paying $15 for. According to my coffee drinking friends, their coffee is also one of the good ones in town. The place is pretty busy most times and can be hard to get a seat but overall the three or four times I’ve been here have been very pleasant experiences. I haven’t been disappointed with any of their dishes.
This is a coffee shop/cafe located on Hastings in Gastown. They have a pretty tidy and spacious interior, and in addition to coffee and drinks, serve up a menu of breakfast/lunch items as well as baked goods. I had tried their Pistachio Kouign Amann, Scone, Classic Chocolate Cashew & Sea Salt Cookie, and Almond Bostok. All of their baked goods were very tasty and made with quality ingredients. This is definitely a place that I'd recommend visiting just for the food alone.
Pistachio Kouign Amann ($4.25):
4/5
The outer layer of pastry was crispy, rich and caramelized while the interior was soft and moist. The pistachio paste was mildly sweet and had a nice fragrance.
Scone ($4.25):
4/5
The scone appeared to contain some green onions, bacon, and cheese (their flavours appear to vary daily). The interior was tender and quite moist. It had a nice savoury flavour without being too salty.
Classic Chocolate Cashew & Sea Salt Cookie ($3.25):
4/5
The cookie had a nice crispy exterior, while tender and moist on the interior. The chocolate was not waxy and melted in my mouth, and quite well distributed throughout the cookie. The sea salt on top provided a nice bit of salty flavour to contrast the sweetness. I could have done with a bit more cashew.
Almond Bostock ($4.50):
N/A
This consisted of a cake that's filled with berry preserves and topped with almonds. I actually didn't have this; my mom did. She really enjoyed it, and said that it was very buttery.
Summary:
Food: 4/5
Price: 3.5/5
Service: N/A
Overall: 4/5
Recommendations: Pistachio Kouign Amann, Scone, Classic Chocolate Cashew & Sea Salt Cookie, Almond Bostock
Okay, seriously… when did avocado toast become a thing? If you look on social media a few years ago, you couldn’t scroll far down your feed without seeing someone post about their avocado toast. And while no longer at the height of popularity, it’s still common enough to see people posting pics of their favourite gram worthy dish.
The mushroom and sunchoke soup is the bomb here, and apparently, the bartender of the year, Grapes & Soda’s Satoshi Yonemori thought so too. It went perfectly with my “Ethiopian” pour-over, giving me the boost in energy that I needed before my coffee date arrived. I really like that they take preparing food as seriously as making coffee here.
It was nice the finally have the opportunity to try out Nemesis coffee and enjoy their finely crafted beverages. I know I will be coming back again and will maybe try their food menu.
Of course I love there. However some staff are not good because I couldn't remember coffee name that I drank one time and they didn't help me. Coffee, food and many staff are very good!!!!

No dairy free desserts and no soy milk :( however the pour overs are on point, I took a black coffee to go and enjoyed every sip. The baristas were very polite and definitely knew their way around a v60. I've heard good things about the food so hopefully they introduce some options for the lactose intolerant in the near future.
Nemesis is legit. It's a more casual, less bustling yet deadly coffee serious cafe in the vein of Revolver down the block. It's an impressive debut thus far from the month-old coffee shop.
The buzz about this coffee shop has been insane, and I was so glad to finally be able to check it out! I came much later in the day so they were out of quite a few items, but luckily for A and I they still had one of the best things left. What we ate: Classic Chocolate Cashew and Smoked Salt Cookie ($3.25)
Nemesis Coffee opened this year and made a big splash in the coffee scene immediately. They have a great team of very talented baristas and chefs. Nemesis Coffee has secured itself as one of my favourite spots for coffee. The food is quite unique too and props to chef for using coffee as an ingredient in some of the dishes!
I'm a big fan of this place. The space is open and airy, with a great minimalistic vibe that reminds me of something you would see in Melbourne. I'm glad they strayed away from the dark wood/brick sort of style you see in other coffee shops. Old school hip-hop is usually playing on their speakers. I was greeted enthusiastically by one of the owners. Great customer service. I got the tonka grain bowl which can be made vegan and their almond milk cappuccino. So good!
Definitely would come again. It's always nice to see people who are really passionate about coffee taking a risk and making their mark on the Vancouver coffee scene.
Atmosphere: Bright seating on the left side as you enter, darker seating on the right side. Aesthetically pleasing. Simple logo design, but I would have made the marketing on the cup way more prominent. . Service: No complaints, just took my order, other person made my coffee, left room for cream but I drink my Americano black.
Dream teams have had a big role to play in our history. Captain Planet had one. The Power Rangers were one, Thundercats too. The Canucks had one in, oh wait, never mind. Anyway, the coffee royalty of Vancouver have conspired behind the scenes to build a team so skilled, so enthusiastic and so caffeinated that the mere bringing together of them could only result in one thing… Nemesis coffee.
A new coffee shop in Gastown has been generating much buzz since it opened about less than a month ago. Located at 302 West Hastings Street, Nemesis Coffee is quickly gaining popularity and with this type of momentum they seem to have staying power. After seeing a few articles on Nemesis Coffee online (Daily Hive, Scout Magazine) and Instagram posts, I decided to try Nemesis Coffee out.
One-liner: Great coffee and baked goods, but subpar service and food priced higher than what the everyday luncher enjoys
Highlight: Latte
Estimated cost per person: $20
Would I go back? Not for the kitchen food.

Newcomer Nemesis Coffee is a unicorn in Vancouver’s coffee world. In their own league, they will draw obvious comparisons to veteran Revolver (just a block away). Both cafés feed the appetite for an elevated experience: handcrafted, exotic coffees in a jaw-dropping space.
Keep an eye out for them: and that’s meant literally. However expansive their location is, you just might miss it. As neighbours with downtown’s Victory Square, what they lack in clarity (clear signage), they make up with delicious symbolism (a simple logo). So seek out the discreet neon sign on their window: like a secret card pulled out of a sleeve, it’s an upside down heart.
The coffee was okay. I’m a huge coffee person and was not impressed by their cappuccino. The cranberry croissant was overly sweet but the construction of the croissant itself was very nice and flaky. The cranberry jam/sauce on the inside was too sweet and tart for my taste. The overall atmosphere of the coffee shop is very cute.
Solid place for a cup of coffee and brunch in the Gastown area! I had their espresso and salmon Benny with the French toast and I recommend the Benny. It was very tasty with good portions. It might be a bit difficult to find seating especially with covid but I think it’s worth the wait.
I had an americano from them multiple times and they know what they’re doing with their beans :)
Highly recommend for coffee and food!
I had the white chocolate pistachio cruffin which was awesome! Didn’t really taste like pistachio but it was still very good! The croissant was also as perfect as it looks! The only reason why I gave 4 out of 5 (rather 4.5) stars was the coffee- it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t something special either, slightly sour to my liking but hey, can’t please every different taste. Will definitely be back for the pastries!
Would Return/Recommend.
Great coffee, they made it a little too hot to drink but I guess they do this during winter. Clean taste, great milk texture.
Mushroom pastry is a must try. Absolutely delicious for a wet day. Creamy, earthy and crispy. Get it warmed up.
Nice interior, not a lot of seating however. Takes AMEX.
We stopped at Nemesis for coffee and some pastries in the morning and they had a lot of great looking options. Their americano and iced coffee were good and their pastry options were even better. We had a red pepper danish, chocolate croissant, and best of all, a juniper lime cruffin. The cruffin was really messy to eat but it was amazing. The staff was really friendly and the cafe seemed like a nice place to hang out in.
I came here for breakfast and I had a good experience overall. I ordered their avocado toast and it was tasty. The mocha I ordered was really flavorful and it was strong as I like it. I would definitely come back.
Loved coming here during our stay! The cruffins are amazing, and such a unique pastry option, and the croissant was also delicious. Flat white was great. Seating was comfortable and the cafe has a peaceful vibe.
Adorable and confortable place to have a brunch! I like their food and and appreciate the fact that you can easily add or remove something from your dishes, according your taste withoit any trouble! Of course we should try to change nothing but sometimes is necessary! I love their food and seasonal options! They have pacients and polite staffs as well! Would give 10 starts if ti was possible Hahaha ☺️
