The Girl With Curly Locks

This is a really nice place to visit with your friends and I can guarantee you that you will have a great time at this place because me and my friends love this place when we visited
A modern delight hidden behind old stones. Six Acres suffers from old building syndrome, it's walls barely tended with cracks and the obvious lack of proper insulation. Aside from that the food was great but is rather expensive. The Caesar salad was beautiful presented, a common theme amongst the menu, and had well balanced flavours. If you don't mind spending money for delicious food, six acres deserves consideration.
The food is super delicious, but it is a little expensive.Server is nice. However,it is hard to talk to friends due to the noise.
If you want to drink,it will be a good place. If you want to have dinner,it will cost you a lot.
Fantastic beer menu; amazing variety (it comes in a book!). Great lunch options in a perfect sharing size. Great veggie sliders and I like that the wings aren't saucy. Kale Caesar is my usual must-have. Service at lunch can get long when the patio is full.
Now that it’s summer, I ride my bike everywhere. It’s fun, easy, and most of the time actually quicker for getting around Vancouver than driving or taking the bus. Plus it allows me to sneak in some easy exercise to help against all the calories I consume to ensure that I have enough material to write this blog. The only area of Vancouver that I have long refused to bike to is Gastown. Not because it’s difficult to bike to (it’s actually super bike friendly), but because it’s the area of Vancouver that has by far the highest bike theft. And considering that even “cheap” bikes in Vancouver usually cost a few hundred dollars, I’m just not willing to risk it.
Great place to try on a sunny day, it was so nice intact that we got patio seating. Downfall to this? a branch fell off the tree above and hit some guy behind us and a caterpillar fell onto our plate (no worries, the food wasnt out yet). I wasnt sure what to try and I so wish i ordered the mac and cheese because it looked amazing.. but instead i got the fries, bison salad, and original sliders. All three tasted great but I probably didnt care for the sliders the most. The salad is a must here, the meat was cooked to perfection and the arugula was perfectly drizzled with the right amount of dressing.
Great experience! It was a small place, but has a fun european vibe. Was amused by the book menus, made it fun to look at the menu. Shared the fries, and they were delicious! Crispy, well seasoned and not too saucy. Went with the chicken salad, and really loved the combo. Avocados were fresh and green, the bacon was thick and delicious, the dressing wasn't too heavy and really fit well. Overall experience was great, and would recommend this place to anyone!
Right in the heart of Gastown, you can never miss this landmark especially with the Gassy Jack statue infront. The menu here is 75% alcohol and 25% food if you look at the number of pages for each section. The extensive whiskey and spirit concoction makes this a good place for late night drinks and kick and unwind. Seeing all the dining tables were taken, we were worried that there wouldn’t be any room but luckily they have more seating upstairs, which is even better as you get a great view of Gastown and all the traffic and pedestrians around.
The place looks like a typical place you would see in Gastown. I think this is more like a drinks and appetizers place versus a sit down romantic restaurant place. I really enjoyed the Mac n cheese, they had some speciality cheese inside. The poutine was also very good.
Cozy spot. Small retro vintage gastropub with terrasse. Quick and efficient service. Candlelit tables for romantic after dinner drinks.
Exposed brick walls coupled with cozy, candle-lit tables give Six Acres an awesome atmosphere. It's a smaller place, but they've managed to avoid making it feel crammed. The food is excellent—we usually order a beer and few apps and the service is always super efficient.
Coincidentally, we're always seated on the second level against the railing and it's my favourite spot! I'll definitely be revisiting.
Good service, servers were very friendly and fast despite being a very busy Saturday night
Great Place. I love Six Acres. Great cocktails, awesome whisky list and a growing beer selection. We've tried almost everything on the menu so far and haven't been disappointed with anything. The staff are attentive and friendly and it's got a great atmosphere.
Six Acres gets Six Stars. Plain and simple, 3 of us went on a fairly busy night, our server was pleasant and prompt, the drinks were pretty good, the food got pumped out pretty fast and was pretty damn good I must say. A for sure repeat.
Tapas Goodness. First off the space is extremely cozy as expected. Interior brick, with a semi narrow room coupled with a tall ceiling and mezzanine space makes for a very nice space indeed. Why is there Hobbit audio book playing in the bathrooms?? The staff are knowledgeable and extremely diligent, a refreshing reminder that service still can exist.
Now the beer, well I'm a sucker for pitchers and specials of which you will find none here unless I missed that? Regardless the selection of beer, wine, and spirits is very satisfying. The salt and pepper chicken wings are amazing, the mac and cheese (with added bacon of course) is delicious, the fries with in house ketchup and ailoi is very good (added bacon of course lol) and the short ribs are good too. Definitely a potential fav here.
Great Place. I've been to Six Acres a handful of timesand each one has been a pleasure.
Its a cozy and sometimes cramped interior. They always have cool music playing, and play a variety of vintage (sounding?) instructional tapes in the bathrooms which is neat. They cultivate an unusual and pleasant atmosphere that doesn't wander into the weird or desparate.
The prices are what you would expect from the area. There are some reasonable priced beers and they have a really nice selection on the whole. I haven't had much besides beer and the odd whiskey at Six Acres, so I can't speak to any of the other drink prices. From what I've had of the food, its reasonably priced for what you get (again, considering the area).
I'm incredibly picky about service and a bad server can turn me off of a place for a LONG time (here's looking at you, Blue Water Cafe!) and I have nothing to complain about from Six Acres. You will probably have to flag a server down, but I don't exepect constant attention at a place like that. The only time I've had an issue with a menu item, they took it off my bill with no problems.
Also their handsoap in the bathrooms smells GREAT!
Old book covers hold menus, tasty drinks, love sitting upstairs
Went at around 8pm with a group of 4 and only waited about 30 mins for a table. The place is small, but worth the wait. We had enough food and drink to fill up and th bill was $180 for 4 people! Great value for what you get. Highlights of food were the crab sliders and the Gorgonzola dip. Yummmm! Also enjoyed the beet salad, wings ad Niçoise salad. The menus are covered in old books, cute touch. I would definitely return! He extra bonus is th location. Centre of gastown.
Half review. I don't think I ate food here, I had beer and my review is on the bathrooms, they are amazing, they play George Carlin's comedy in them, I thought that was great. Maybe it's not all the time, but it delighted me. Atmosphere is nice, and the servers are friendly, or maybe not to everyone.
Took 45 minutes to get our food, while tables who arrived after us received their meals. No apologies from staff. Not impressed. But neither are the staff...they're hipsters so they hate a lot of things. Still love the joint tho....
Excellent spicy sliders and great beer. Quirky menus in old books and Japanese language tapes playing in the washroom.
Brilliant! Such a great spot rich in atmosphere. Smart staff who know their menu well. Soo many beers - wow! Absolute repeater. Sit upstairs on the long bench looking out. Hope your night is as lovely as ours was.
Beer Selection. One of the best drink selections in the city. The prices are a bit high for some drinks but the atmosphere is great.
Veggie Sliders. I've never seen veggie sliders before. These were amazing. Much better then most veggie burgers.
Simply Perfect. A creative menu, great drinks and beer selection and a perfectly ambient room with good tunes. I must say that I do love the old classical radio programs playing in the bathrooms. It is such a nice touch. The staff are run off their feet and it is close quarters no matter where you sit. There is nothing on their menu that isn't enjoyable from the popcorn to the homemade mac and cheese.
Menu Change. Choked on menu change. Just because Gastown is getting extra high-end these days, doesn't mean you had to bight the dust too.
Go back to your supper cheep and insanely delicious menu for the winter prettty pleasse!
Don't worry your caesars are still my fave
Add to their lovely array of mouthwatering food items the extensive selection of beer, wine, and spirits – well you’ve got yourselves some tough decisions ahead of you. With options like mussels, poutine, gorgonzola hot pot, and grilled beef short ribs,
For sure! Apparently their French Fries are really good and we definitely want to try more of their comfort food. Perfect place to go to for any occasion.
From the outside looking in, it seems like a random pub that serves baseline eats. Never judge when you're on the outs. It's worth knowing what they're serving because it is beyond pub eats. It's really good.
dre in Downtown Vancouver: Afterwards, he drove to Gastown, where we got drinks from a place called Six Acres. They had a big menu of beers, so over the night,
When you need a casual night to enjoy with friends, and to relieve some stress, Six Acres is the spot to chat, laugh, munch, and drink…and drink lots.
I have been to Six Acres in Gastown more times than I can recount. But how many times have I blogged about it? None. So I figured it was time I put my time to good use and recognize one of the bars where I feel most comfortable. Six Acres, located right a
Definitely a spot to checkout!
Great food, great atmosphere, stellar service!
The fam and I are wrapping up our quick trip in Vancouver and looked up places with good mac and cheese and Six Acres popped up with a pic of their Pasta & Cheese. We ended up ordering that dish, a meat lovers pizza, brisket sandwich, and the fried chicken.
All were REALLY good! I especially enjoyed the fried chicken (the flavors were delish).
Highly recommended!!!
Great atmosphere, great service, and great food. 6 Acres has a wonderful selection of beer on tap and excellent cocktails. The star of the show was the fried chicken, which I highly recommend everyone to try. A big shout out to Ava, one of the servers, who is a ray of sunshine and generally a sweet, kind person. Easily one of the best pubs I've ever visited, 10/10.
I loved this place, good space, good illumination and the best: the fries chicken wings, good portions and really tasty, from my point of view the best I eat in Vancouver so far
It was my birthday and Ava was the best hostess ever! It was raining a lot and we were looking for a place to have dinner that would have a table for 6 people on a Saturday night. Everywhere was full, but Ava worked some magic and managed to find us a table inside. The food was very good and the waitress was extremely kind. I could not be happier with my experience here, highly recommend it!! (And thank you again, Ava, you're the best!!)
The beer and service are great. I personally don't like the chairs and the patio is kind of sunken... So I always feel like my chair is going to tip over or collapse. The location is great if you're bar hopping.
Lovely charming old hole in the wall pub with fantastic vibe and decor❤️ got a lot of character and awesome friendly service. Tons of local beers and ciders to select from!
