Excellent nitro cold brewed coffee! It wasn't quite lunch time, but the selection of food was extensive. I enjoyed a Nutella hot chocolate, and it was just as good as it sounds.
Got a latte and enjoyed a catch up date with a friend. The space sectioned off nicely for intimate conversations and was fairly quiet. Great place to study or grab a coffee and chat!
*LOVE* Smartmouth & their Staff. I am so happy to be working near Smartmouth Cafe...it's now my "go to" spot when I don't bring my lunch. My partner & I eat extraordinarily well at home, and we find it difficult to eat out (even in fine dining establishments) without being disappointed. I haven't been disappointed yet with any of the food I've tried at Smartmouth.
I have decided to go wheat free in 2015, and Smartmouth has a very decent selection of wheat free options. Today I had a roasted corn & chicken tortilla chip soup & the kale crunch salad & I'm in heaven.
As always, can't wait to go back.

I don't know what I would do with out this place. My daily visits for coffee and a snack make my day. The staff is excellent even if they pretend not to care. You know they do. Plus the hilarious sandwich board out front makes me laugh 7 out of 10 times.
Best cafe in town. C'mon in and relax in this mood set and sympathizing cafe after a long hard day at work, or even that dreary Sunday morning wake up.
In my opinion (and it should count because I come here everyday without fail) their soups are the best in town, usually offering three completely different types of soup in either a bowl or a cup or even a side to a sandwich. For around $5 dollars maximum.
Follow your soup with a nice warm hot chocolate or even a cool fresh fruit smoothie.
This is definitely the place to bring a friend or loved one.
The staff are second to none and make you feel like family from the moment you walk throughh the door to the wave of the hand goodbye when you leave them until next time.

Best damn coffee in Gastown. That's it, best damn coffee in Gastown. Oh, and the breakfast wrap with sausages is amazing.
Great spot for getting work done. Free wireless, lots of private corners to tuck away in. Awesome coffee, great service and convenient location for gastown residents.
Smart Mouth, Smart Coffee. This is a saucy little joint that will poke fun of anything happening in the city. Most staff wear T-shirts that say "Hello my name is Smart Mouth" and these cast of characters are lead by Ron Downie, and he is usually found behind the registrar making fun of something or someone. . . but don't worry most of it is actually self deprecating.
What they are serious about is the espresso. I have had everything from a 12 oz latte to an 8 oz cappuccino and a 6 oz macchiato all the way down to straight shots of espresso and never had a bad shot. It has always been worth the trip into Gastown. (Any excuse to walk down Gastown's cobblestone streets is a good one).
Had a dinner meeting at the Flying Pig the other day, and because I had some time in between different meetings, I went to work at the Smart Mouth Cafe near by. It's situated nicely in the heart of Gastown, and was pretty quiet on a Thursday afternoon.
Smart mouth is another one of the sandwich places we go a lot for lunch. It's a cute little place in Gastown. Quite a few seats inside but pretty busy usually. However you should be able find a seat if you go a little late after the regular lunch hour. Inside They have quite a few selections for vegetarians, both sandwiches and soups. You can order sandwiches alone or get a soup as a combo. You order, get a number, find a spot, then you sit and wait for your food. Interesting little cafe. Friendly... ish staff could be better... but otherwise a good place to drop by on a rainy day. Coffee was decent enough with interesting mixes like Nutella hazelnut lattesand meals like apple tuna paninis. Overall good enough
Love this gem conveniently located in Gastown, Vancouver.
I come here for either a quick breakfast or quick lunch. They have a great variety of sandwiches. But my go-to is their ham & cheese croissant. Mmmmmm!
They have an amazing selection of cookies that are seriously to die for.
Their baristas are quick and their coffee is superb.
The cafe has lots of seating inside and they have some tables outside for when the weather is warmer.
The employees are friendly and provide great hospitality.
Nice and cozy environment to grab a coffee and toasted panini for lunch. Very friendly staff. My wife couldn't stop talking about the panini. We actually went back a second time before our trip ended.

Location, location, location!! Walked in on a whim and I must say I was astonished by the beautiful layout of the restaurant. On top of that the staff was easily one of the most genuine and friendly people I have met. Mocha was divine and drinking it on a rainy day while people watching was a enjoyable
