Wonderful Valentine’s Day experience! The food was fantastic! They accommodated our dietary restriction professionally even with a set menu. (One person vegetarian) It was a nice feeling to know that the owners were hard at work with their team. Wanda who was working In the front of house gave us a warm welcome and checked on us periodically, she left us with a cute jar of home baked cookies to take home with us. What a great Valentine’s Day gift. The matcha tart for dessert was to die for!!! We will be back! For brunch!

We had an amazing meal here recently; highlights were the Sweet N Chilli prawns, Me So Salmon and the Mean and Green, matcha molten lava cake dessert, really wonderful food and great friendly service. Keep up the good work Chef Dan and good luck with your new venture, if the quality of the food is anything to go by you should have a resounding success on your hands, we will definitely be back for more of your fabulous food soon.

i am so happy we found this restaurant. Our new favourite. Food is amazing. Loved the “scalloping heart beat” and Chicken Seoul good” “Rack Olamba” was so nice as well. Actually everything we ordered was excellent. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We went to the Rise Eatery before going to Mamma Mia Stanley theatre and easily walked the 4 blocks from the restaurant to the theatre. We will be back soon.

You will be leaving this restaurant with a belly full of amazingly good food and loving the atmosphere of this new restaurant. Every time I come I feel like I am at home eating the best Routine (Basically the best thing ever. Ramen and poutine mixed into one).

Such creative and delicious dishes to choose from! Really enjoyed our dinner there. We had the Heart Attack Rice, Sweet N Chili, The Routine, Pickle them Wing, Lo Hay Salad, Me So Slamon and Creme de la Creme. We loved them all, especially the Me So Slamon and Creme de l Creme (and just so everyone knows I am NOT one who likes duck liver, or any kind of liver!). And for dessert we had both Milk N Cereal and Mean N Green. We loved them both too! We will be going back for more to try other dishes! Thank you so much for such a great culinary experience!!

Uni-Versal Pasta XO Edition: Smores has been here before and raved about this. After deciding between the pasta and the heart attack rice, I decided on the latter and regretted it because this was delicious!

Dropped in spontaneously for a dinner on Saturday night with my boyfriend. We chose to try their seasonal 3-course menu at $42 per person. We chose the pseudo crudo appetizer, the salmon sacrifice and the squid ink pasta entree, and the matcha tart and amoussing end for dessert.

Squid ink pasta here is the best - well worth all the hype on Instagram. Very fusion-styled dishes and the interior is stylish. Relatively empty when I went and they had a cute patio.

In January, The Rise Eatery launched the “Kick the Blues” menu during the period of Dine Out Vancouver, and it was a blast. Everyone started to talk about the restaurant, and many even went and tried it themselves, including myself. I actually came here since they first opened, and I really enjoyed the simple and delicate fusion cuisine. Then, my second visit for the “Kick the Blues” menu was a delightful experience. Last week, I visited the restaurant again. I was invited to a Yelp Elite event, and I got to try more of the signature dishes from the menu!

Love this place. It's fusion place, all the dishes were very impressive! The wheel thing was interesting. Worth to try it. Ambiance is great.

As their featured dish, the Wheel of Nosh is quite eye-catching and everything on it was delicious. Despite all being small bites on the wheel, they are substantial enough to savour.  The Truffled Honey Chicken Drumettes and the Petite Crab & Sea Urchin Arancini are lovely. Not being a huge macaron fan, I found myself enjoying the Savoury Macrarons on the wheel. The mains are tasty but could use some tweaking on the presentation and portion size. The Duck Confit reminded me of a hometown dish of mine, the "8 Treasures" Duck, but the amount of sticky rice and beans was a little too much. I took a quick look at their menu,  and it seems like they are trying to jam in so many ideas on the menu to showcase the chef's capability. I would suggest them to build a smaller menu based on those tasty bites on the big wheel, then just run the rotating daily/weekly specials to keep it interesting.

We decided to try The Rise Eatery the other day for lunch. I ordered the Poke and my partner ordered the Seoul Good, which is the Korean fried chicken. They both came on a tray which included a little deep fried banana and chocolate for dessert, which was a nice touch. My Poke had a nice dollop of tobiko on top and lots of veggies, edamame and tuna. It was very fresh and delicious. On the side were some home made taco chips with salsa. Fusion of two cuisines but was tasty. My partner's chicken was delicious and was a large serving with kimchi fried rice and some slaw on the side. He loved it! We enjoyed the food very much and service was excellent. We will be back there to try some of the other interesting dishes on the menu.

Chef Dan is a culinary artist. He takes dishes from various cultures around the world and blends them in his own unique way. This goes beyond fusion.

We started our meal with drinks and The Routine, fried ramen cubes and cheese curds in a miso gravy along with kewpie mayo, furikake, bonito and pickled ginger. Pat's Seoul of Ceasar was garnished with a spicy kimchi carrot.

For the main course I had the Belly to Belly, pork belly in a coconut curry with pickled vegetables and steamed Bao buns. The pork belly literally melted in your mouth. Pat had the Heart Attack Rice, stir fried rice pilaf, chicken confit and chicken crackling topped with a free range egg.

For dessert we had a the Chai It, ginger chai infused lady fingers tiramisu with spiced rum marscapone.

Every so often you try a dish that just blows you away. Tonight I was blown away again and again. As they say on that TV show, “You've Gotta Eat Here”.

It’s been a LONG time since I’ve blogged- I’ve been busy with working out and vlogging on our Youtube Channel that I’ve been lacking posts on our website! Hopefully after this post I will find more motivation to begin blogging again…. Today I want to share with you a brand new restaurant that just opened up on Granville Street. I went to their Media Tasting a few weeks ago and we were thrilled to try out a BUNCH of their items on their menu. The menu is filled with asian fusion dishes and a lot of them are really unique! The interior of the restaurant was very beautifully designed and its a great atmosphere to just chill in! They also have a small patio out back. Not much of a view- since the back is their parking lot, but still a great space to sit out in on a hot sunny day and enjoy one of their cocktail beverages.

I was invited to the highly anticipated media launch for “Rise Eatery”, a new and modern restaurant joining the South Granville neighbourhood. When it comes to a media tasting: plating and portion size may be gussied up and/or paired down, and the service will usually be top notch. Though I can at least paint you the most accurate image when it comes to the food and the setting, as how I interpret it. But as always, these are my opinions and you need not take them as fact. Unless you have my exact background, have lived my exact experiences, and we possess the same tongue; no one can truly taste and appreciate as you do.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was good. Food was tasty. Came out hot and timely. Boba cake was delicious and the fried chicken. This was part of dine out. Not sure if what we had is on the regular menu. But would recommend. Great place for a date night but make a reservation if you can!

I came here for dinner and it was a wonderful experience. I think the drinks are good and the social atmosphere is welcoming. I also like that the portions are not tiny and everything is made for sharing. The food tastes very good and I enjoyed my time there. The only thing is that it’s not like super special I could get the same type of food elsewhere. I saw the lunch or brunch menu and I think I like those menus better so perhaps I need to give that a try first. Overall though I really liked it.

The fusion food here is paired successfully with flavors that work really well together. I had the Uni-versal Eggsellence and it was pure yum. The Uni sauce was creamy and rich and you could even add on fresh pieces of local uni on the crepe which wrapped eggs and shrimp. The potatoes are perfectly cooked and crisp on the outside like a chip and soft on the inside with fluff. The flower power drink was refreshing. However, the best thing here is their homemade hot sauce! It is creamy with the perfect amount of kick.

The food was excellent. One "large" plate or two "small" plates seem to be a good portion per person for quantity but sharing is encouraged. The squid ink pasta was our favourite and the rose lychee cocktail was smashing! Our server noted to us that it was his first day on the job and he still did an admirable job. We are looking forward to going back some time soon.

I’ve made a couple of trips to The Rise for brunch, dinner and their dine out period. Every visit is a fantastic one. Every time I come back here I always order the UNI-versal XO pasta! It’s so good and if you get it you MUST order it with the fresh uni! They also have other Asian fusion dishes - we got the ultimate se-duck-tion which was a rice bowl with some duck and foie gras which is a unique take. All of their dishes have such fun and creative names :) They have a great selection of cocktails, I particularly like a bright future and lolliwood north. Dessert is also really good with their matcha tart and boba coma cake (sponge cake filled with tapioca pearls and brown sugar sauce). The ambiance is warm and lively- both family and date night friendly or even to celebrate your bday with a small group of friends. The servers were really friendly, sweet and attentive. Overall, I recommend this place for brunch and dinner if you’re looking for something unique with yummy Asian fusion food.

Nice restaurant and loved the unique wood tables. Definitely would come back to try more shared plates! They encourage all their items to be shared amongst the group. For this time I only had the squid ink pasta and it was delightful!

Came here for a lovely afternoon tea and quite enjoyed it! Service is just outstanding and the desserts are amazing! 4 stars because the parking is just so tough to get and I have not tried any of the savory items. Now back to the desserts - drinks are pretty standard but the wheel of sweets is a fun show stopper. The sweets are so yum and just so fresh! No gimmick here, it is super yum! And saving the best for past, that boba coma cake is just bomb! The best cake ever for a BBT addict like me! Subtly sweet, you can taste the milk tea flavor and the cream is just perfect, and the boba were perfection too - better than the boba at most BBT spots! Trust me, just order this and thank me later!
