Review The Three Brits - Vancouver

Muna Hawwa
Finally, a great place to watch soccer matches in Vancouver! Unfortunately, this game is not very popular in North America. It wasn't easy to get to this place and be surrounded by passionate fans. I was fortunate to watch the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool here. At all, The food is good, the seats are comfortable, the ambiance is fabulous, and the service is excellent.

The atmosphere is appealing and the food is good. The menu could have been a bit more extensive. We relished most of the food we had ordered, starting with chili wings which was served with sriracha parm dip. The dumplings were juicy but the fried patty of the katsu burger was a bit bland. The staff is friendly and the location is great!

We had a great experience here! It’s not a traditional British pub but we liked the atmosphere and service. Only annoying thing was people were coming in and holding the door open, so try and get a seat away from the door on colder days. Food was delicious and filling! We’ll be back soon :)

I love this place for many reasons! First, the service is great and you can get seated as soon as you arrive. The staff are really friendly and caring. The drinks are a bit pricy but the food is really yummy. I ordered the chicken Katsu burger and rosemary fries and it was great. The portion was big as well. Definitely going back with friends! They also have the nicest view👍🏻

Nice Pub with a view of English Bay in downtown Vancouver. Located across from the water it has some nice views if you have a window seat. It has typical pub food and happy hours. Can be busy on a sunny day but is a nice place to hangout.

Super friendly staff. Beautiful with the sun coming in the massive windows. Great service and food, managed to come in for happy hour specials and enjoy a few great local beers. Had a few TVs for some background sports. Great spot.

Stopped in for a late night drink and was delighted to find a Monday night special that had a discount on drinks (I think it was for between 12:00 am to 4 am or so )🤷‍♀️ , especially my go to: an old fashioned . Didn't know they're open till 2 am on weekdays and later still on weekends . I will be back to explore their food and drinks further and really soak in the vibe , hopefully on a nice sunny day .

Great place, great people. My friends favourite watering hole and it lived up to its rep. The food was amazing, I would recommend the cauliflower, the dip is the bomb. Happy hour is also a great time to people watch. Avoid the chains, drop on by

What is the point in having a vegan burger patty that is cooked in the chicken fryer and has an egg-washed bun? You are missing out on the growing vegan movement! Line-ups out the doors daily at places like Virtuous Pie, MeeT, Jinya, Po Kong, Sun Bo Kong, etc etc for their vegan food.

The service was excellent, the beer and wine were great, and the food was was outstanding! It was a little dark and outdated but falls in line with the pub atmosphere.

Weekly chicken and waffles ritual for us these days. So damn delicious and friendly, charming staff, relaxed atmosphere, perfectly located. Come here!

I love this place, it has a great view, great atmosphere and the food is always good. The service is always friendly, but can be quite slow. Yesterday, there was a marathon and the finish line is close by, so naturally everyone ended up at Three Brits and there was only one server working. The poor girl got totally slammed and we were waiting like 15 minutes for our beers. I feel like the manager should have predicted this and put more staff on. We still had fun, and probably saved ourselves some money, but the service was impossibly slow.

Worst experience ever at this place! I've never been to a restaurant and got treated so poorly. We got seated at a table with only 4 chairs and there were 6 of us so we tried to find more chairs. One guy with red shorts and no top came up to us and called us fucking idiots and asked us to leave because we were rude to the server. Even though no one came to our table to serve us. He was extremely rude and disrespectful! We asked for his name but he refused to tell us. This place deserve no star!

Awesome little place with great service. Popped in on a sunny Saturday afternoon for a couple of quick pints. We were sat down quickly, and our waitress took our order right away. It was fun sitting overlooking English Bay. My only complaint would be that I don't like drinking beer out of a goblet. I'm used to a bigger, heavier mug or glass!

Nice place ,delicious craft beer. Im from Mexico, and I recommend it.

I spend at least one or 4 of my 5 week days there ! No matter what . The music sucks but the beer specials, the good food and the “ I don’t know what” keep us there every sunset!

Oh my god loved it. Had the maple bacon wings, best I've ever had. Keegan was a total champ aswell. Will be back again.
Picky Diner
The Guinness Pie is definitely the highlight of the Dine Out menu, best pub dish I have had in a long time. The inside out pie concept is a hit for me. As the other dishes are solid, overall the $25 menu is definitely worth checking out.

After our 2 hour photo walk we all headed inside for a hearty warm meal i ordered the Spicy Coconut Prawns it wasn't as spicy as i would like it was very delicious and a cup of coffee(black) the service was absolutely fantastic very efficient and the food was a solid 10/10 i would highly recommend this place
Excellent food and service. Wonderful presentation of plates. Good and low music so you can talk and have a good time. The view of the bay is very nice. Loved it

I've been coming back to this place on a regular basis. I like to enjoy my glass of fat thug and sometimes unbelievably good blue cheese salad or absolutely amazing house signature burger until... THEY CHANGED THE MENU! what a disappointment. Beautifully located pub that people go for drinks at night has breakfast menu now! Hey, Brits, are you serious? Who is buying egg benedict with a glass of IPA on Thursday night? Your new Three Brits burger can't compete even close with the awesome House Signature burger you used to have on the menue. In fact, it is actually well below ordinary. I used to come to this place for both food and beer and I truly believed that this place had the best pub food I ever had. Sadly not anymore. Now I just come for my glass of fat thug.

Looked to be a great spot for a nice drink and the pub itself looked great. With all good places to eat and drink there was a wait time for a seat. Asking for a specific area of the pub, the lady at the door proceeded to promise us a seat within 5-10 minutes. After waiting more like 20 minutes, our seats were given to two men who literally walked in to the entrance, without a single second of wait time. Not a very good impression. NOT HAPPY AT ALL.

Now, before I give the review I’d like to say that the manager was great. He did everything he should have, was honest with me, and ended up comp’ing the meal.

My server was also quite good, although I do have one issue with her that will be mentioned in the review.

So Donnelly's has this prime rib dinner on Sunday nights, starting at 4 PM. It consists of a slice of prime rib, mashed potatoes, braised carrots, Yorkshire pudding (popover) and au jus.

I had made plans with some friends to go there this past Sunday, and as we were headed over there for 4 PM on a whim I decided to call the restaurant and make sure it was being offered that night, because of St. Patrick’s Day. It was, I was told, but at 4 PM they hadn’t even started it yet.
So, long story short, my friends bailed and I ended up waiting until 7 PM to be able to order it.

When I arrived at The Three Brits, the place was packed. If you’re looking for a place where you can have a quiet meal and conversation with someone, this isn’t the place. If someone was sitting beside you, you’d have to yell for them to hear you. But hey, that’s fine. That’s just the kind of place it is.
So when the waitress comes to the table to take my order, I ask about the prime rib and ask her if it looks as good as the photo I am showing her- a photo taken off a local website of what they offer as far as the prime rib dinner. She says yes. Cooked to a nice medium rare.

GREAT!!! I’m salivating.

Well, 15-20 minutes later it comes to my table. What a shock. It’s cooked medium to medium well. So I go from dreaming about this wonderful bright pink, tender delicious prime rib to something that looks the colour of a hamburger patty.
When I question the waitress about it and ask for a rarer cut she tells me they are all the same.
A few minutes later the manager comes out and after discussing it with him, he proceeds to tell me that it almost never comes out of the oven that beautiful medium rare pinky red- even though I made a point of asking the waitress that before I wasted my time ordering it.

Such a huge disappointment. The cost is $18.00.

The waitress ended up bringing me another cut of beef out that was ever so slightly pink. Five minutes after it hit the table it was cold and pretty much inedible. The waitress asked me if she could take it back to the kitchen and heat it up for me. I guess she doesn’t understand thermodynamics. Heating it up would mean cooking it more, and I would just be back to the first plate of beef- warm but over cooked.
- So, the beef was cold and over cooked.- The Yorkshire pudding (popover) was wonderful, but was literally about the top 20-30% of a regular popover. It was this tiny sliver.- The potatoes were fantastic.- The braised carrots were nice.- The au jus was flavourful, but must have been the scrapings off the pan as it had more of a gravy consistency than au jus.

In the end, I would have been willing to pay $25-30 for what they actually advertised versus what they serve. What I got was horrible, and the fact that they advertise a beautifully cooked slice of prime rib and then give you something that is over cooked and barely cuttable with a knife is, as far as I am concerned, absolute fraud.
Why not take a photo of what you actually serve and use that to advertise your product? Because NO ONE WOULD EVER BUY IT. I just don’t get dishonesty like that.

In the end, all you have to do is cook it to a nice medium rare. If someone wants it cooked a little longer, throw it in the oven for a few extra minutes. It’s not rocket science. But when you over cook the entire roast, you can’t go back and make it medium rare.

So again, the manager- great. Genuinely concerned and honest. The waitress- very good effort, but I didn’t appreciate the fact that she told me they cooked the roast to a nice medium rare, and knowing that I wanted that, brought me out this sad overcooked piece of meat and then tried to excuse it away. Shameful.

Would I go back again? Nope. Other reviews also say the food here isn’t anything really good. My experience confirms that.

Pretty sad really, when you consider it’s supposed to be a British Pub.

(The photo you see here is what they advertise, NOT what you get)

Great view was the best....... After walkimg 10 km around Vancouver today, we needed a drink and snack. We saw this little pub - Three Brts Beer. The place was not all busy, 5 tables at best. We decided to have a bowl of clam chowder and some wings. After 20 minutes when we ordered the soup, we were advised that they ran out......strike 1. After another 15 minutes, the wings arrived..wasn't dazzled... You think we you ordered wings, the server would bring some plates, additional napkins and mabe a wet wipe or two....Nope..

I hope the next visit...there will be clam chowder

Pretty decent pub. Hostess greeted me nicely and waited patiently as I got out my ID. I sat down at the bar and had my order taken by the tender within good time. Great atmosphere and location. I'd go again.
No Dessert Im Full
Decent Brunch. The hangover burger is quite good, the garlicy mayo with the cheese and egg is quite heavy though lol, fries are very good.

Absolutely first-rate service from Justin this evening. Also, tough to beat $3 Fat Tug IPA during happy hour.

Used to love this place, before it got bought out.. I used to love this place before it got bought out by the Donnelly group. I guess big corporation came, instituted big rules and just messed up the place.

The last time I was there I went with a couple of friends and my girlfriend. Just wanted to have a few drinks and my buddy lives in Harwood st. so I we gave it a try.

Everything was good until my friend's girlfriend tried to order a drink before finishing her pint. The waiter told us that the new rules are that only one drink per person at the time to avoid drunkies. (Right...) Then we wanted to order food - The guy said the kitchen was closed. Apparently, that day they decided to close it earlier.

We just left with a bad taste in our mouths. We used to love that place. Not going back there again. I don't mind walking a bit to get to a better place.

Great location but poor service. I have been here twice and looks always short in staff. I ordered a cocktail and there was a big fly floating the waitress ignored. . I personally brought back the drink to the bar but she just said "oh i will bring it to u " and no apologies. .

If you have heard any of their radio ads, "Three Brits Pub", it is the only pub in the West End that specializes in craft beers. Today I found myself here, in need of a cold pint to cool down. If you have been to any of the other Donnelley Group ventures, you kind of know what you are in for. Louder music, a younger crowd, and bad food. The place is like a night club cramped and dark, with mirrored walls laid with gold and bronze foil. Not much to describe between table tops and bar stools. We grabbed two seats at the bar. It was really the centerpiece of the place. I appreciated the hooks that were bolted under it, perfect for coats and bags. Behind the bar stood our two humorous, and almost arrogant bartenders for the evening. One of them was at least British. Their jobs were to keep the crowd going and the liquor flowing. My guest ordered a bud and was both shamed and denied her request. Not explaining the bar's only craft beer selection, the lead bartender told her he will bring

With such a fantastic location and a busy venue, I expected more. Service was slow, I actually enquired as to whether they had forgotten our meals. I chose the cocktail the waitress recommended and was highly disappointed. It looked cute but tasted like off cider. I ordered the special salad of the day – trout with asparagus and greens. There was barely a fillet of trout, just three little morsels and the dressing was over bearing. Shame, but perhaps I caught them on an off day.
