I loved the salmon burger! Fries were great too! My daughter was also very happy with her poutine. Will definitely be eating here again. Best food I’ve had in the Granville Market!
Deluxe burger is best add cheese and mushroom to make it better. I also tried chicken sandwich and salmon burger but deluxe is the best and my fav.
deluxe 汉堡包超好吃,配上在对面买的酥皮浓汤简直是棒极了
came here on a wait before lobsterman feast and nevertheless, maybe it's because of the sunny day, and i don't reallly come here often the scenery and openness, and breeze of water in hot summer weather does lighten up the mood... it was an awesome day, the food hmmmm i think it was definitely alright, the patty was juicy, every bite drips a little bit of the juiciness and the fries, stock fries, but still good, no complaint.
I tried the market special, everything is good, definitely didn't dissapoint, i don't mind having another bite in this location as of next time.
update: the poutine is okay but definitely not the best.
Great food, priced reasonably, served quick, and with great customer service. I literally cannot find an excuse to not give this place a 5 star rating. It's a good thing they're on Granville Island - if they were any closer to where I live I may never have eaten anywhere else again!
We eventually spotted Market Grill sitting in the corner right near one of the many entrances to the market. I actually remember seeing them, not realizing they’d ever been there while I was with Food Wench at The Grand Tasting on Granville Island for the opening night of Dine Out Vancouver several months ago. They have a fairly decent sized menu and it looked jam packed with 5 workers in a small corner booth and a huge backlog of people waiting for food, so we figured they must be good. We originally planned on splitting 1 burger between the two of us, but considering how far of a walk Olympic Village was and ou
Love the poutine. They get it. Hot and crispy fries smothered in smooth, gooey gravy and melting lumps and strings of cheese curd. Superb! Best I've had so far in this city.
Good deal. Love the chicken burgers here and the buns have a great texture to them. The place is not stingy with toppings and the caesar salad is fresh. For this price range it's hard to find better tasting food in the market area. Would definitely return!
Messy But Oh So Good!. These burgers are great! I'm usually not big on beef, but I enjoyed the hamburger here so much that I had one on a subsequent visit - juicy, not gristly, lots of FLAVOUR! The chicken burgers are also awesome - unbreaded chicken breast with teriyaki sauce or home made barbecue sauce - oh yum! Yes, more expensive than McDonald's, but McDonald's sucks. The burgers run about $10-$11 and come with either fries or Caesar salad. I've tried the Caesar salad, and didn't care for it. The lettuce was good, but it was mostly lettuce and canned parmesan cheese. The fries are nice skin-on wedges - golden and crispy. I really like the Grill Special Chicken burger (BBQ sauce, swiss cheese, mushrooms, onions, mayo, tomato), and the Market Special Beef burger (Secret sauce, swiss cheese, mushrooms, onions and tomato). The Teriyaki Chicken burger is very tasty and comes adorned with pineapple! They also offer a veggie burger and a couple of salmon burgers - I think next time I will try one of the salmon burgers. Hot dogs are also on the menu; my daughter had the regular dog with bacon on it - it wasn't fancy, and she liked it. Poutine is also on the menu - it's okay. I haven't tried any of their breakfast items (yet). The people behind the counter are always friendly, and you can't beat the view - if you can eat your food outside on a nice day (avoid the seagulls - I once had an entire cup of tartar sauce pilfered by one of those little jerks), you've got it made! My only complaint is that the napkins are way too flimsy for such a robust burger! I bring my own wipes!
Best veggie burger ever!!!! Highly recommend!!!!
...I am always on the hunt for the perfect burger. This weekend my burger hunt took me to Market Grill on Granville Island and I have to admit, I found another contender for the best burger in the city. However, even though the salmon burger and fries was delicious and I look forward to my next visit to Granville Island so that I can once again enjoy a burger at the Market Grill, it was the service that I saw being delivered that made me smile and give them the Life in the Burbs two thumbs up. Cal, the owner of Market Grill, was behind the grill doing his best to keep the wide variety of burgers and fries moving from the grill area to the front and into the customer’s hands. Cal of Market Grill While he was running the grill and the fries station, he was joking with the customers, advising them that their fries were very hot and trouble-shooting what was going on out front where the customers were lined up. I wandered up to the front counter
Generally, you can tell how good a joint like this is by their fries, as if their fries suck, chances are the other stuff, most times but not always, will suck too. The fries this time, potato wedges, were quite surprising! They were very crispy on the outside while still being nice and fresh on the inside, without being overly burnt.
the BBQ Chicken Burger ($9.15), made with home-made BBQ sauce, mayo, lettuce and tomato. I picked potato wedge fries as my side. And trust me, these fries were worthy of existing in the presence of this burger. They were textbook perfection: crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and lightly salted. Moving onto the burger itself. Without fail, this burger sensually pleasured my tastebuds to climax. The oven-poached chicken breast was legit juicy, not just moist. BBQ sauce was on point and the homemade bun was the perfect pillow to hoist up those chicken breasts. SO GOOD! hippoCHAN went the more traditional route and ordered the Deluxe Classic Beef Burger ($8.15), loaded with relish, onion, pickle, mustard, mayo, lettuce and tomato. This burg
The Market Grill on Granville Island is in the marketplace. They are best known for their amazing burgers! My sisters and I were in the marketplace looking for seafood to bring back home, but then we felt kind hungry, so we decided to grab a bite here. The Market Special Burger with Caesar Salad ($8.75) is one of their most popular items. It has Swiss cheese, mushrooms, onions, tomato and a thick beef patty on a toasted bun. The patty has a nice char on the outside, but when you bite into it, the flavours are just amazing. With the combination of the savory mushrooms and gooey cheese, it really just makes your day better. The caesar salad is quite basic. It has romain lettuce, parmesan and dressing. Nothing too fancy. Overall, great burger and we will definitely come here again. The burger was really good and I wouldn't see why the other burgers wouldn't be as awesome as well. Words of Wisdom: Good Prices Market Special Burger! Lots of seating, but usually full We Rate Market Grill: Ad
This is one of my favourite places to go for a burger, right up there with Burger Heaven and Cactus Club.
Whenever I’m on Granville Island and in the mood for a burger, this is where I come; it’s also the best place for a savory breakfast, with breakfast sandwiches, scrambled eggs...
Granville Island market is spectacular! Go prepared to spend money and time because it's worth it. The food market has everything you might need or want. From fruits and vegetables to fish, chicken, beef, antipasto, fresh artisanal pasta and all kinds of pastries.
Then you have all the specialty stores that sale just about everything, world art, aboriginal artifacts, clothing, unique trinkets, etc.
Very tasty burger and lovely people. I had the daily special “whiskey BBQ burger” which was mouth watering, plus the caesar salad and fries, all fresh. Will definitely return if I’m in Vancouver.
I visit the Market Grill frequently for their delicious veggie and vegan burgers! Their fries are more like British chips, super yummy. Say hello to the owners, they are friendly!
Love this place! Get here early for breakfast and order the waffle plate! They some how found a way to make oranges and waffles go together and I LOVE IT!! ITS A PARTY IN YOUR MOUTH!
Not necessarily a hole in the wall. More like a hidden gem in plain site. New favourite breakfast place at my favourite place in the city, Granville Island. Inexpensive, filling, and delicious. Enough said.
Got the breakfast BELTCH sandwich but changed it to croissant and it was amazing.
I got a breakfast sandwich it was delicious. The market as a whole is amazing & if I lived in Vancouver this would be a weekly shopping destination for sure.
2nd time I’ve been here. Great choice of burgers. Quick service and friendly people here. Cheeseburger a personal favourite, plus actual chunky chips (fries)! Mind out the Granville island seagulls don’t steal them!
