Back to my favorite city in the world.  Vancouver.  Got to go get some sushi.  Vancouver is probaby the 2nd best place to get sushi other than Japan....in my opinion...not that I have been to many places though.  Love the big chunk of sashimi portion. Address: 1375 Richards Street, Vancouver, BCV6B 6M6

Lucky for me, the nigiri was a hit. The sushi rice was especially well-prepared and well-seasoned and tasted good by itself. The Hokkigai Nigiri was rather small, but it had a pleasant sweet flavour and an appealing chewiness. The Uni Nigiri was fresh and really melty with a mild, sea-like, savoury flavour. The Chopped Scallop Nigiri featured creamy, sweet scallop, and the conservative

Three words: Daily Fresh Board!
When you are at Kaide Sushi Bar, do not expect lively ambiance and flashy dishes that people find at a modern Sushi place or at Izakaya. There won’t be volcano shaped food creation that explodes on your plate. You will find mostly traditional Sashimi or Sushi preparations on their menu, and everything here is high-quality and super fresh!

I was determined to sample the best Kaide could offer, and ordered Kaide Supreme Sashimi, a platter of 6 kinds of the chef’s proudest choices. I was slightly bummed that I didn’t get Spot Prawn for a second, but quickly realized how special this Sashimi set already was. There were Sockeye, Abacore, Butterfish, Madai, Hamachi, Jumbo Scallop, and the precious Blue Fin! And wait a minute… Instead of 6 (described on their menu), I got 7 different kinds of Sashimi – I was such a happy camper even before I started to eat! And the sexy journey of tasting all these exquisite pieces of heaven was simply pure pleasure in my mouth! I could almost hear the angels sing. And I did not want this to end. It was just absolutely fantastic! Although all the pieces were amazing, I had to say Blue Fin was my favourite, hands down!

Very Fresh Ingredients. Though the overall price was a bit high, everything was really fresh. I especially liked the Uni Nigiri and Toro Nigiri. The Tamago was a bit too sweet for me. Big Bang and Maple roles were all good. Salmon sashimi was extremely fresh. A bit disappointed that they did not have Tempura and noodles soup that I would like to choose during Winter time.

Great sushi along with very nice staff. Great smaller sushi place. Keeps the menu simple which I like. And the fish was good and all was presented nicely. The servers, the sushi chefs, and the owner/chef were all very friendly and made for an extra enjoyable experience.

My fave sushi spot. Hands down best sushi in the city. The food is so authentic and filled with the freshest ingredients and they only use wild salmon, not the farmed fatty kind. The chefs and servers are super friendly and attentive. Their rolls aren't packed with rice the way most other Japanese places serve rolls nowadays, and they have the option of brown rice too. They don't have much (if any) in terms of hot/cooked food but there's so much amazing raw/cold food to choose from that I don't miss it. Their seafood salad is my favourite! It may be a little pricier than other places but it's worth it to me so I keep going back.

Good food. Good vibe.. Best enjoyed as a lunch spot. This place looks unimpressive at first glance, but it is a very comfortable atmosphere with friendly wait staff and an owner who takes an interest in food and his customers. Everything from the miso soup to the veggie combo to all the unique rolls are extremely tasty. This is the difference between just slapping a big piece of fish on rice and creating a specific flavour from conventional and unconventional ingredients (i.e. lemon zest, homemade ponzu sause, a thin spicy sauce with genuine punch). Some might be put off by the traditional take on a sushi bar with no meat, only fish, and no deep fried items. Take the risk!

After our disappointing visit to Ajisai Sushi Bar , we decided to try another highly revered sushi joint, Kaide Sushi in Yaletown. While driving down Richards street, I realized that me and Karina had actually been to Kaide Sushi years ago, and had really enjoyed our visit.

Starting from last week, we implemented a new "system" to get our butts into gear and to lesson our belly fat from eating out. Each week, both Carn.H and I start off with $25 and 5 tasks. With $5 deducted for each task not completed. Groceries and daily expenses are still paid for as per usual but this really limits our spending on snacks, coffee and eating out. So its a good way to cut back with only one month to go until our wedding (actually less than a month now - yikes!). So any restaurant under review, for the next few weeks has been, or will have gone, through a bit of thought and consideration ^^ Carn.H has been craving sushi for a while and after hearing temptingly good things about their chirashi from a co-worker, he was determined to go to Kaide. We were down to $20 each after last weeks deductions but off we went. Their menu was mid-sized and had a good selection of food "types". A few of their items were more unique and not offered at most Japanese restaurants. Cute rainbo

This place can be summed up in one word, fresh. That describes how clean and appealing each bite was. It was just really great sushi - well-made with fantastic ingredients. When freshness bursts like that, it's quality.

Although their sushi was smaller and more expensive than other sushi places, given the quality, I think it still worths coming back in the future.

The sushi rice was moist but did not have much vinegar flavour, and the seaweed was tough. I didn't really care about the rice though; I just wish the seaweed would be better.

In Yaletown again, and my friends and I needed a quick lunch, so we went to  Kaide Sushi Bar , a place my friend visits often. We shared an order of the salmon sashimi. The fish was delicious, served in the perfect temperature. I wasn’t too hungry this day, and knowing we didn’t have muc

Beyond the excellent, fresh sushi, I’ll be going back to Kaide again for the friendly service, and great location (for me, anyway). I can’t believe it’s been so close by all this time and I had no idea!

I do not describe Kaide as a sushi restaurant lightly. Do not come to this place expecting anything else. Menu options are plentiful, varied, and delicious, but deliberately lacking the usual Japanese cooked dishes that Vancouverites expect to find - no t

Yum Here’s a great little sushi spot with a simplified menu. Sushi was fresh and a few rolls to try Big Bang ( tuna , avocado lemon slice snd crunch) the lemon gives it a refreshing zing and for those who like veggie sushi their Kaide Garden is elegant and tasty. This sushi spot is great for those who live in Vancouver and travel from the north shore (Whistler) it’s an easy stop making it a great option for pick up on ski days. Enjoy

Probably my favorite traditional sushi restaurant in Vancouver. Service is also good, the rolls are outstanding, it’s a rare place where you can get Lotus root, the sashimi is always of high quality

Another great find in the city. Stumbled upon this location and was pleasantly surprised. Great staff, great food, great value. Ordered the omakase set and an extra shrimp to satisfy the craving. Fresh fish, tasty rice, and great portion. Super delicious. Must try.

What an experience. The assorted chef's special sushi platter for the most amazing sushi I've had. It had different kinds from tuna, salmon, blue fin, butterfish, bbq eel, scallops, tobiko. It was beautiful. Thanks for the amazing evening guys.

If you are after authentic Japanese food this is the place. Its a short menu, but the quality food and price are excellent. I gave 4 stars because the decor is missing.

Been coming here for years. Their sashimi is always fresh, with nice seasonal offerings. The sushi are made with fresh seasonal offerings as well. Beer is served with an ice chilled glass, which is nice. The owner and chef is very nice and friendly, as are the staff. It's not a high end place, but the quality of their food is comparable to more pricey places in town. Definitely worth a visit.
