Best waffles I have ever had, and beautifully presented too.
I don’t make it downtown very often so, when I had the chance in mid-February, I popped by Le Petit Belge for an early morning breakfast. True to their name, this location is kind of small and I was glad that I went early as it quickly filled up in the morning. As you enter, you’ll come to the counter where you place and pay for your order before sitting down.
I quite liked the small, cozy atmosphere of this restaurant/bakery and the warm, sweet scent that lingered in the air. I had their Majesty I Waffle and a cup of Americano (details below). The waffle was delicious. I will definitely be back again for more.
Majesty I Waffle ($9.99):
4/5
This consisted of a Brussel's waffle with some slices of banana, two scoops of ice cream, a generous amount of whipped cream, and a drizzle of caramel and candied nuts. It was beautiful, and fortunately, it tasted just as good as it looked. The waffle was crispy and light, and almost melted in my mouth. The ice cream and whipping cream were, of course, delicious accompaniments. My favourite part has to be the caramel and candied nuts however, and I only wish that there was more.
Stopped in for their special, waffle, bacon and eggs with a coffee. And man, scrambled eggs so light, they use the bacon to stop it floating away. A fun and quick breakfast.
This place has really become popular since the 3 years I was last here! There was a line out the door at 1030am on a Sunday morning. We got a seat in about 20 min which was better than 2 hrs at Cafe Medina. Again, the waffles were impressive, both savoury and the sweet. Although if I was going to be really picky, the savoury prosciutto waffle could have used a bit more sauce of sorts to be less dry overall. My caramel macchiato was decadent, but not the most aromatic coffee I've had. They have since ramped up their number of staff too, who are all friendly and attentive.
We woke up early because of crazy jet lag so we decided to head out for breakfast. We were planning to go Gastown at first then we saw the waffles menu board of Le Petit Belge on Robson. We end up decided to try some waffles for brekkie. We have never been here before. Le Petit Belge is a small cafe specialized in waffles (sweet and savory), baked sweets and of course coffee. Dishes were in well presentation and looked so pretty! My eyes keep checking the waffle dishes at other tables! The portions of the toppings are big too. LOL.
Came in for a quick lunch, decided to go for the special which was a Belgium style waffle with two eggs, bacon, and coffee for $9.99. The waffle was definitely the stand out on the plate, light and crisp with a delicate flavour. Everything else was kind of so-so, almost like an after thought to the waffle. Coffee looked like it's an americano with to much water instead of a filter coffee so ended up being weak in flavour.
Based on the waffle strength I'd come back but probably for a sweet waffle or to try their liege style waffles.
Best waffles and great salads! Great option for ones who look for healthy choices
Breakfast the Belgian way!. Amazing brekkie. this place is a must try! 5 stars easy!
We're pretty addicted to Le Petit Belge. My wife and I enjoy almost everything on the menu, but our favourites are the Tropical Brussels waffle, Chocolate Trio dessert, and Chocolate Pudding pastry. Sooo good. The staff are great and we're just so glad to have an amazing patisserie in our neighbourhood.
I was very impressed with the size and amount of toppings on this so I got my bang for my buck. The waffle was warm and slightly crisp on the outside and there were so many toppings this could've been a meal itself instead of dessert.

There’s very few places I give 5/5. One such place is Le Petite Belge, that just opened up on Robson. The staff are friendly, the food is fantastic, the price point isn’t too high and the variety is good. What else can I ask for? You can get a sugar powdered waffle with maple syrup for $5. You can get a fancier waffle with strawberries, melted chocolate, whip cream around $10. It is the best waffle I’ve had in my area of Downtown. Mind you, I’m also near Cafe Medina, which I can never get into ever, unless I want to be horribly late for work. I’m going to jump ship. Le Petit Belge is actually much, much more authentic. It tastes like the waffles and pastry I had back in Europe. Also, I can get everything fresh in 15 minutes. That’s a big seller for me. They sell croissants, bread, tarts… everything a bakery entails. But onto the wonderful waffles. We had ours to go. In house, the presentation is amazing. I’ll go back and snap pictures on plates. It is so cute and wonderful. I saw many
This place is by far the best waffle place I have ever been to.
Last time we decided to go with Salmon Benny for me and Blackstone Benny for my husband. As usual, it all tasted great, and although we had to wait up outside for almost one hour, it’s totally worth it when you get in and experience such a great customer service and tasty dishes! I’ll be returning soon 😊
The waffles here are so good! I try to go here everytime I'm in Vancouver now. Also, the cappuccino was spot on. I actually ordered a second one while i was there. This place is unique in that you order before you sit down. I just had to remember to pay for the extra cappuccino before leaving 😅 ☕
This spot is great for breakfast or brunch! 💯
We got there in the morning around 10am and there was a short line up. We were seated after maybe 10 minutes wait. After we were seated the line up got very long. We ordered and paid before getting seated which helped speed things along. The food was very good. Prices are reasonable. When we were finished, we were able to just leave and didn’t have to wait for a bill and pay which was nice.
Nice quaint family operated breakfast joint.
Go for their weekday $10 breakfast special, that's right I'm not dreaming, unheard of in Vancouver. Bacon, eggs cooked to your preference and a large moist crusty waffle.
2 friendly efficient staff attentive to your needs, salt, pepper, butter, etc. Everything cooked up fresh like a real breakfast should be
Nice selection of regular bennies. Could have gone to McDonald's across the street but couldn't resist their weekday special, I made the right choice
Great little spot, with an emphasis on ‘little’.
Service was good, food was outstanding. Very flavorful, well-presented and relatively inexpensive.
Overall a good experience. The place is really tight inside so be prepared for that.
A small little Cafe restaurant by Robson st. It was the best so far out of all eggs Benedict we had. I enjoyed the lady waffle. That rich chocolate mousse really got me. It was confusing when we got there we don't know if we need to wait or we just come in. It took a while for someone to say hello and explain to us how it works. The ambiance was nice except for the construction view outside. Affordable food. I don't mind eating here everyday. I wish they have it in Winnipeg.
I’ve never seen a restaurant operate with such deliberate and effective efficiency. If you go, watch their team closely - it’s a marvel to see them operate so well. They only need one server for the entire place and service is fast! Food itself is super good.
