Jinya ramen is one of the most popular ramen spots in Vancouver. Jinya ramen has a few locations but we went to the downtown location this time. As expected, it was a full-house when we arrived at 6pm on a weekend and despite the fact that it was zero Celsius, they forced us to stand OUTSIDE to wait! I was not about to wait outside for half an hour so we headed back into the mall and waited for their text to let us know our table was ready

This is one of the only place I can have ramen! They have a nice and light broth, not too salty, like other ramen places. And their chef specials/recommended are actually really good; I tried the Sprouting Up Ramen and it was excellent!

Had the vegan ramen and chicken one, they were nice enough to tell us that the sauces had fish oil since we had ordered vegan. The ramen was super tasty, and the service was great. Only thing would be that it was a little cramped as tables were very close together otherwise highly recommend!

The revamped Jinya Ramen Bar is an improvement over their previous establishment. I tried the lobster ramen and it doesn't disappoint. I love eafood and lobster is not exception. The broth for this ramen is packed full of lobster flavour. It's like lobster bisque and ramen married together to form this lobster ramen.

It's on the pricier side, but given that you get an entire lobster head, I think it's just almost worth it. I was able to order this for $18 because they were doing a promotion.

This ramen is tasty and recommended for anyone who loves lobster. The noodles are good and compliment the soup well. The wonton that was also in the bowl pretty much gets overshadowed by the broth.

I'm not sure when I'll come again because there's just so many ramen places in Vancouver to try.

The ramen tour continues with Jinya Ramen Bar downtown. It's been open for about a year now and I've finally found someone to go with me (lining up to go for ramen for one seems lonely). . We waiting for about 30 minutes and they use the yelp reservation system which is pretty snazzy. It tells you how many parties are in front of you and will text you with a confirmation when your table is ready.

The new restaurant offers a modern atmosphere located in the heart of downtown Vancouver. The ramen selections vary from chicken, pork and vegetable broths. The pork ramen recommended by the chef is our favourite. It is rich in flavour and the meat is very tender. The spicy chicken ramen is also nearly as good as the pork one!

Beautiful set-up. The ambiance is wonderful- they put a lot of effort into the way the place looks. Service was great- everyone was really eager to make sure we were comfortable. Super friendly staff. The food was good- but not the best. Price is steeper than other good competitors. Would not go as far as recommending this place- there are a lot of other ramen places in the area more worth spending your dollar on. A sham because I was really excited about this place and the people who work here are okay but the food is really just okay.

Sat at the bar and had my food there! The bartender was really helpful and help us choose but the best ramen to eat based on our tasting preferences! I love how they have a vegan ramen choice, as many ramen restaurants only have a meat option.

This is my first time at “Jinya”. After trying one for their more unique ramens, I can see why they are so acclaimed, and how the lines ran around the block when they first opened. Well fast forward almost a year, and I am finally giving them a try. Immediately I noticed how eye catching and awe evoking their all black exterior is. It had a posh look to it, like they know they are the nicest ramen spot in the city. With the doors open wide, you get a direct view of their bar only a few steps in. Its empty stools make for quite an inviting scene. Enough for me to make one of them my perch. Hanging above are shelves lined with oversized bottles of sake and their plastic noodle bowls stacked in fives.

Authentic Japanese taste from this California chain, impressed!! The Black Tonkotsu was rich and tasty, extra thin noodle were good and the Kaidama was a huge full serving. Extra order of spicy bean sprouts a must. Only complaint is the chashu was too sweet and not as crumbly soft as I prefer. Service was very friendly and fast, place had a great izakaya vibe going.

I come here once a week or at least that's the plan. I love the White broth, which is the right mix of chicken and pork. I love the little dob of hot sauce, and the back up jar on the table. I live it that I can add broccoli to my ramen (or other vegetables). I love the portion of food, I don't have to feel guilty about not finishing my ramen. Friendly service with a strong touch of Vancouver.

Oh, and they use the Nowait app, which is handy in putting my name down.

Wonderful food, wonderful staff. Sooooooo polite that as soon as they saw you have the food on the table, they will say Enjoy! Nice noodle soup and the pork rice bowl is perfectly cooked. Have had the ice cream mochi here and it's so soft and tasty. Would definitely recommend anyone here for the food!

I was dismayed, some time ago, to find Jinya closed at their Robson Street location across from the library. I didn't see that coming but I went across the street and had Pho instead an was perfectly happy. Delighted to finally get to the new location which is considerably different from the old and probably fits into their corporate scheme more appropriately. I like the new place. It is noisy, darker (thus my pictures), beautifully decorated and comfortable enough and...more expensive? My partner had the Spicy Chicken Ramen which even ordered mild had a little bit of spice to it. The white meat chicken was very moist (brined?) and delicious and the noodles were great. The broth was rich and tasty. I had my go to Tonkatsu Black Ramen which is always amazing. The broth is so rich and silky and I love the noodles and the garlic is unmistakable. We started with a Jinya Bun which was delicious but at $4.75 and not more than a couple of bites for each of us, seems a little steep. We also had the Crispy Chicken which was a religious experience! So moist on the inside and crispy as advertised. Again I ask, brined? And the Ponzu sauce on the greens that accompanied the chicken also deserves honorable mention for its garlicky note. So great food, excellent service (Margo was definitely worth a 20% tip) but the experience including tax and tips was nearly $60 (just a couple of cokes to drink). Not cheap but worth it once in a while.

**DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED**
The new JINYA at TELUS* Garden is like the old JINYA, except given a slick, glitzy, hi-tech makeover. (Review of the old JINYA here, for comparison. Old JINYA location now occupied by the new second location of Marutama Ramen.) This new location shows what’s possible when you have big ramen chain money behind it. The results are positive, and the crowds immense. For now.

TOO OLD FOR THIS S***. I used to love Jinya when it was at it's previous Robson location. It was my go-to place for ramen. Nothing fancy. Good service, a no-nonsense menu. They closed and re-opened up the block (still on Robson) and now, ... I dunno. Maybe I'm just old, but this is not my thing. Went here on a weeknight around 7 or so. It was pretty busy and the wait was about 30 minutes. Decor was your typical Yaletown hipster chic, as was the crowd and the obnoxiously loud music.  Man, that's fine when you're sipping martinis, but sometimes, I just want a freakin' soup. Anyway, wait staff are friendly. The menu has grown to include appies and drinks -- stuff hipsters likes. The ramen was not bad (about the same price as before, similar flavour, less broth), but the atmosphere (especially that music) was just too much. Sorry. Gotta find a new ramen place to haunt. Too bad.

○good service/ long wait during peak times but I don't get why there's so many empty tables and they make customers wait outside for a long time
○good food depend on what you get/ does take longer than usual to come out / alot of options to choose from
○high priced
○if I had to choose 1 dish: black ramen
○would i go back? Yes

Jinya Ramen Bar has been around Vancouver since 2011 and now they have officially expanded to their NEW location on 541 Robson Street. Their newest location is 3000 square feet with 80 seats. The whole restaurant was closed to host a private media event to celebrate the opening of their newest location and for social media influencers to try out their signature ramen’s and their popular small dishes. Their interior was absolutely stunning. It has large windows to bring in the natural light and the bar in the middle was their spotlight. Their wall pattern of choice is brick walls paired with wooden accents throughout the restaurant.

Jinya Ramen Bar is opening up on April 21st at the Telus Garden on Robson Street. They have all their classic ramen dishes with an expanded menu with more appetizers and drinks. Jinya has been one of my personal favourite ramen shops in Vancouver and it’s funny how they are moving a block to Telus Garden.

Jinya Ramen‘s Robson location has now relocated into a more stylish and modern space.  Opening April 31, Jinya Ramen takes up a 3,000 square-feet location inside the Telus Building at 541 Robson Street.  Jinya Ramen was founded by Tomonori Takahashi’s and it was inspired by his first visit to North America when he struggled to find a satisfying bowl of ramen.  The first Jinya location was established in Tokyo in 2000 and then expanded to California.  The franchise now operates locations in the Los Angeles area, Las Vegas, Houston, Vancouver, and Seattle.  I attended a media preview of Jinya’s new digs on Robson Street.  Here is a first look at what is in store:

We were visiting Vancouver and we saw that this restaurant was always busy and we decided to give it a try. We got to sit at the bar but that did not take away from the excellent experience. We were greeted with a nice manager that very descriptive of the choices on the menu. The food was excellent and flavourful. Taylor was our server and she was very attentive and took interest in us that made our experience superb. Thank you. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for great food and experience in Vancouver.

Very good ramen bar, the drinks are delicious and so is the food. We had a terrific service by our waitress who took the time to explain the menu in detail. The only thing that was a tad disappointed was the amount of protein that comes standard with the soup, only two pieces of chicken. I just wish that for the price you'd get a little bit more. Other than that, the ambiance and the staff are making it worth the visit. Highly recommend that restaurant.
