Diner with a spectacular view . Everything was perfect , not sure what the negative reviews are for ... seafood platter appetizer , halibut main & crueller with vanilla sorbet for desserts
Fans of LIFT’s Downtown location are now able to enjoy their delicious West Coast Menu while waiting for their flights at YVR Airport. Located in the International Departures Terminal – after security – The restaurant opens early (7 am) and closes late (1 am). It also offers an award-winning selection of BC wines and handcrafted cocktails.
I decided to take my cousin here for her birthday on a Saturday night. I ended up making a reservation on the way to the restaurant through their website. I decided to order the off menu halibut, which apparently was their specialty. My cousin went for the beef short ribs. We also ordered a side of mash potatoes. The halibut was nice and crispy and the few vegetables on the dish were well seasoned. The only thing is that their portions are really small,so I'm happy we decided to each order mash potatoes. And we also asked for some spicy mayo to help give the mash potatoes some flavour. The maitre d was so kind and brought us out three different kinds of sauces. We also ordered the chocolate ganache cake, thankfully it was free since it was my cousins birthday. It didn't taste very good at all.
What a beautiful setting for brunch right on the water. Very relaxing place to watch the world go by as we sat & ate of soft shell tempura crab. The menu is very affordable & the food super fresh
“Picky Diner” and I were jumping from location to location and this would be the second destination for our third round of drinks, on our impromptu Coal Harbour Cocktails on the Patio Crawl. “The Lift” is a restaurant that is known for its view, with the name that promises and delivers on a boost, to make you one of the best. It is located at the further most point of the Seawall walk, and at this end, it gave you a look back and the distance you travelled to get here.
Smart and surprisingly affordable lunch menu with a fantastic view. The shrimp and fish tacos were very filling, fresh and served on corn tortillas. Service was also very friendly and attentive. They have a killer patio as well. Dinner menu is quite a bit more expensive, but looked great as well.

Looking for a spot to go happy hour, I suggested we try Lift Bar & Grill. It’s situated by the water along the seawall before you enter Stanley Park. The restaurant has an awesome patio outside perfect for the summer. Happy hour is from 3-6pm daily, but unfortunately, you can only sit at the bar for happy hour. The bar seats around 10-15 people, so be sure to arrive early!
Fabulous deck, great view, and they have sliding sunshades to help you enjoy the outdoors without getting sunstroke but the chef was too liberal with the salt. I had fish and chips, great crunch to the batter, halibut was lovely but fries were over salted as was the coleslaw, compared to mine, my table mates crab cakes were bland. The view is great and you feel a bit as though you are on a ship as you wind up the staircase and through the narrow halls. Bit pricey but you always pay for a killer view! 5 stars for location and ambiance, the menu had lots that looked yummy and worth a try, I'll go back and try again.
What a lovely place. I love the food and the atmosphere, the view was amazing. The service could have been better, the server seemed in a hurry, and never really answered my questions. But the view was too good, to have this ruined my day. Highly recommend this place! Would definitely come back.
Location, Location, Location I've loved this spot, design, concept since I found out it was being built 16 years ago.
They had some rough spots service wise & quality wise some time ago but they've put that long behind them.
Hit the back half of Happy Hour (3-6pm daily)
Bison Pate, Tempura Calamari & Tako roll all were nicely done. Taco Roll in particular hit the spot.
Four Winds IPA & A Stanley Park Pilsner( love these guys)
Our Server was really good, pleasant, efficient, attentive.
On a nice day out of town customers, especially landlocked ones, will be blow away.
It can be quite busy after 5 if it's really nice out. Reserve in advance, always a good idea.
Good little selection of wines by the glass. (Wine Wednesdays)
They could tone down the music a notch so that it doesn't compete with conversation at the table,
I'll be spending a few afternoons here this summer for sure.
It was dark and pouring rain outside, but the the ambiance inside Lift Bar & Grill was warm and relaxing, and I was sitting by a translucent marble bar top gleamed over the soft amber lights. Although Sofina was running late and I had to sit through 45 minutes by myself, I was enjoying the House Sauvignon Blanc ($5) and the food from Lift's happy hour menu. It was indeed a long dreadful winter day in the office.
Royal Miyagi (a buck a shuck), always one of my favourite West Coast oysters, tasted fresh and delicious. And I was quite digging the Fried Humboldt Squid ($8), seasoned and cooked to perfection, tender but not too soft. It was definitely a sexy seafood dish to look at and eat.
Despite living in Vancouver for all of my life, I don’t get down to Coal Harbour very often. So when I had a chance to spend a sunny fall day downtown, I made sure to take a leisurely stroll around the neighbourhood. Of course, all of the walking will eventually make you hungry and I wound up meeting my sweetie for lunch at Lift Bar and Grill on the corner of the Coal Harbour Seawalk. From here, you’ve got a great view of Stanley Park and the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club.
Pretty good dinner. We were a group over 30 and had three selections for the first two courses and two selections for the third. Had the tuna and halibut and dark chocolate cheesecake. All were above average for certain, but not extra ordinary. Folks around me who had other items were very happy with their choices. Very good wait staff, top notch. I would visit again to see what a meal for 2 or 4 would be like, as I think it would be better without such a large group.
We loved our entire experience at the Lift. The food was perfect; so fresh, delicious and nicely presented. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the view made the ambiance so special. We had great service and I will be recommending this restaurant to friends and family looking for a special dinning experience.

Father's Day brunch! My family decided on this place after seeing the beautiful view. The main selling point for this restaurant is obviously the view but the food is alright I guess. Service was great and I just wish we got to sit on the patio.................
Bar staff is great! Very attentive and friendly. Location is incredible. Food is average.
Good Mussels. They have good mussels - a decent size, not too large and a good garlic sauce - we're staying at the Westin and they are right across the walkway at the back of the hotel. The staff are friendly and the food is good but expensive for what they are offering but if you are into restaurants that give you an iPod with the menu on it then this is the place for you.
We asked for real paper menus and they had them - otherwise we would not have been back again. They have this thing about the "view" from the restaurant but really it's not that great and unless you are keen to look at a parking lot full of boats (aka the butt end of the marina) then it's nothing much to write home about. The wine and the food are overpriced for what they offer but decently cooked and you'll be OK impressing a date here. There's a nice bar/lounge area on top if you like weather. I gave them a "like" but I probably would not go back there.
Great food with a spectacular view!. Popped in for lunch because it was right near where I was visiting and was pleasantly surprised. The cod fish and chips were outstanding and the waitstaff was very prompt and courteous. I would definitely eat there again.
Good food. Terrible service. Lovely Ambiance.. If you're willing to be patient, it's a great location with excellent seafood.
Fantastic Views. Great waterfront restaurant located in the heart of Coal Harbour. Everything you want from a waterfront restaurant, great seafood, great appetizers, great service and a fabulous water and mountain view. The upstairs patio with fireplace is heavan.
Great Pacific NW Fine Dining. Definatley no complaints here, restaurant is directly on the water in coal harbour, very different north american dishes, great drink menu/wine selection, unique views of coal harbour, a tad pricey
Cool. I needed my cocktail fix and I met up with my lady friend mid week, It was not that busy as it was mid week which suited us just fine. Two of us had the steak which was the best. One had wine. wild, it was a great night. None of us had appetizers as the portions are always larger that I can eat and frankly we had other plans. I think I enjoy the ambiance as much as the food. The waitresses cant be beat. We sat and enjoyed the view as darkeness approched and then drove off. Alway the a great experience, and best of all good dollar value.
Not sure why all the reviews are negative on the food and service. Both were excellent we found. Seafood and steak both perfectly cooked. A little expensive but good views make up for it.
Great view, okay food. A bit disappointed by the quality of the food for the prices being charged, it made for a nice lunch but I wouldn't recommend Lift's food. It's a great place to get a table with a beautiful view and have some drinks with friends, maybe share appetizers but the prices for entrees are hard to justify.
Merely the View. At this restaurant, I felt like the prices were covering the decor and view over the food.
Best Brunch. Beautiful food, beautiful setting, wonderful coffee. The absolute best eggs benny I've ever had in Vancouver. Can't say enough about it. Loved it all and can't wait to get back.
Lift Bar & Grill is located at 333 Menchions Mews , or right beside the Westin Bayshore on the Coal Harbour Seawall. Whether you walk, cab or Valet park your car the Lift building is iconic and can’t be missed. Lift Bar & Grill opened about 10 years ago to much fanfare and like most restaurants it’s had it ups and down. From what I’ve heard from some friends that have been there late
I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant (but I heard recently that they had a menu change maybe it’ll be different?!) for this price range of food.
It was a superb meal for lunch overlooking the waterfront as the food was well prepared, cooked, and presented by Lift complemented by some fine Northern wines.
Against the breathtaking backdrop of sailboats and North Shore mountains in Coal Harbour is the chic restaurant, Lift. I’ve always thought this place looked like a futuristic hub with an amazing patio. Disappointingly, we had to sit indoors since it was much too windy and cold to perch on the patio (typical Vancouver weather!). Lift, 333 Menchions Mews, Coal Harbour, Vancouver Nobody loves dessert more than me so when we couldn’t decide which dessert item to order, I happily picked four items to share. As delicious as Lift’s desserts looked on the menus, we were more distracted by the iPads that we were viewing the menu on. I’m pretty sure I have to get out more but I’ll admit that this is the first time I have seen restaurant menus presented this way. Bonus points for innovation. The downside? Battery drainage. One of our iPad menus was down to only 4% of battery life. Good thing there w
A few days later we wanted to take advantage of the great sunny and warm weather and opted for lunch at The Lift.
Lift is one of my favorite restaurant of all time. The view is beautiful, the ambience is great, and the food is delicious. I was extremely hungry that I had to order a burger at this restaurant. Nonetheless, it .was.good. This on the other hand, was NOT
