Simple and tasty food. This place is great for vegetarian and vegan people. The decor is also very nice. Bit slow service but staffs is very friendly.

I didn't expect much from Templeton because of its location, in the middle of a party street! But I was pleasantly surprised by their burgers. The breakfast items looked tempting as well but didn't get around to trying those.

I would happily go back to try out their breakfast or brunch!

Simple, clean food, great vegetarian and vegan options. A small place but it fits the personality of the restaurant. Near the end of Granville Street before the bridge so it's easy to miss. The decor is also really cool! Something that I'm head over heels about is the presence of a diner booth jukebox in every booth. So rad.

Had my heart set on trying this place on my first night in Vancouver. After my flight was delayed, I didn't arrive until 30 minutes to close but they graciously took me in anyway. I was troubled with what to order but finally decided on the curry tofu scramble plus veg bacon. It was lacking in flavour and a bit dry and needed salt and hot sauce to liven it up. The bacon was also forgotten and I was charged for it anyway, but this was sorted. That said, despite having what should have been a supbar experience, my lovely waitress and the adorable ambiance still made it a a pleasant meal.

This is a small, but popular diner located on Granville, not far from Davie Street. They serve a menu consisting of the usual comfort food that you'd expect from a diner. I had their Pulled Pork Pancakes, Mangled Eggs and a side of French Toast. The food didn't blow me away, but was still quite tasty. The staff was very friendly and cheerful however, and their prices are reasonable. This is a place that's definitely worth checking out.

Pulled Pork Pancakes ($13.50):
3.5/5
This consisted of pancakes layered with pulled pork. The pancakes themselves were a bit tough, but still tasty and had a nice chew. They were a bit bland on their own, but tasted nice with the pulled pork, which was very tender and juicy, and flavourful with a nice bit of sweetness that I quite enjoyed. While I do prefer the versions from Lucy's Eastside Diner and Red Wagon, this is still a pretty good renditions.

Mangled Eggs ($10.50):
3.5/5
This consisted of a croissant that's filled with scrambled eggs, brie, and a choice of either bacon or veggie bacon (I had the bacon), and was served with a side of rosemary potatoes. The croissant was nice and buttery, and had a great amount of filling. I really enjoyed the brie, which were rich, creamy, and flavourful. While the eggs were fluffy, I did find them to be a bit too bland, even with the bacon. The rosemary potatoes were crispy with a nice fragrance, but also a bit bland and underseasoned.

Side French Toast ($3.50):
3/5
The bread was toasted well, but not really fluffy, which is what I prefer. It was also a bit bland on its own. This was not bad, but not memorable either.

Summary:
Food: 3.5/5
Price: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Overall: 3.5/5
Recommendations: Pulled Pork Pancakes, Mangled Eggs

One thing I love about Americana is the whole diner aesthetic. The puffy bench chairs, jukebox, old posters of soda for 15c, all that crap, I love it! So imagine how excited I was the first time I walked past The Templeton in Downtown Vancouver? Upon looking in, it’s the dinerest looking diner I’ve ever seen, with pictures of old stuff embedded in the tables and individual jukeboxes in each booth. Slice of 50’s and all that.

A true Hidden Gem in the heart of downtown Vancouver.

This is a classic 50s style café, complete with the jute box at each booth.

Amazing service by the friendly (and only) person in the front of the house. She was managing the service and the bar all by herself.

We had the poutine with ‘Fake gravy’ … and I would order it again in a flash. It was delicious. Wife loved it and though it was a huge portion, we actually managed to finish the whole plate.

A simple menu, large portions, the ambiance of a cozy diner, and reasonable prices. These are all the hallmarks of this great establishment.

So this is the restaurant we went to on our first date, 2012. We come here about every 6 mos. always good food & good service. I took a pic of the yummy poutine but forgot to take a pic of the amazing chicken strips and Caesar--cuz I just dug in! Hubby got the special, a yummy pasta dish. Great place, fun environs, amazing food every time!

The Templeton is an old fashion diner located on Granville Street.

The food is pretty solid. Good comfort food!

The one thing that we really enjoy is the decor -makes the whole dining experience. We love those old stools and jukeboxes.

If you are in the mood to be swept back a few decades then you have to stop in.

Give it a try!

A fine home-style diner with great food. This is such a fun spot. Clean and beautifully restored. I stopped by for breakfast. Great service to go with my pulled pork pancakes. Lots of fresh coffee. Come and enjoy.

This spot is Awesome!!! It’s a cute small cafe with home style cooking. It has the cutest decor and the staff is amazing. We tried other breakfast spots in this area and they don’t compare. The breakfast is hot, fresh, and delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection. My hot cocoa was great too. We were visiting from Texas and this was one of the spots that reminded us of home with the food. Nice portion sizes too. The do have a cute clean restroom through the kitchen if you are like me and always need to go. You have to visit this spot wether you are local or visiting.

It’s worth the wait. A throwback to a 1950s diner the Templeton is a great spot for a bite to eat. It’s got a wonderful menu and prices are super reasonable the staff is friendly and attentive. so if you have time to spare I would definitely recommend having breakfast or lunch there. Coffee was good refills were free and I didn’t try the milkshakes but they look scrumptious.

I did not appreciate the quality of the pancakes enough the first time I came here. They're not world-class but definitely better than most in town. Bonus points for getting as much syrup as you want. The milkshake was good but didn't live up to the high expectations set by The Templeton's multiple features in online articles. The pecan pie was flavorful but a little brittle for my taste. I nitpick a lot but the overall experience was definitely memorable.

Food was great and the original 50's style was a great step back in time. Staff were really nice and prices reasonable for good quality food. I will definitely visit again

Had breakfast here last week and it was delicious! While In vacation last week I was searching for a place that offered your usual bacon and eggs/ pancake place that wasn’t a a chain restaurant or didn’t try to pass it self off as a high end fancy place that charged $30+ for breakfast. I discovered this place on Google maps and the reviews seemed very good and the pictures looked amazing! So I decided to make the 20 min walk from my hotel and discover this place. It’s very small place and I almost walked bright by it except I noticed the long line up on the street sidewalk. There was about 10 people in front of me. And I usually can tell when their is a line up it means good food! I only waited about 5 min then a hostess came out looking for a single patron, and that was me! She sat me right away. Again a very small place probably can’t seat anymore then 30 people at a time? (guessed) has booth seating and seating at a bar like an old 50s dinner, which is exactly the vibe they are going for. The menu has something for everyone, both lunch and breakfast items. Bacon and eggs, sausage, French toast, pancakes, eggs Benedict, home fries, burgers, sandwiches, fries, milk shakes. They also serve alcohol, and apparently make a great boozie Milkshake. I had eggs Benedict made with Pulled pork, rosemary Home-fries and a side of sausage with an orange juice to drink! It was a great breakfast and decently priced too!.

Stopped in on a rainy day. The restaurant is super small, and there could be a wait but the service and taste make up for it. We had bloody Mary’s and Mimosa’s. We all had a great breakfast, a lot to choose from. We had the Eggs Benedict and the the Truckers Breakfast. If you’re in town, stop by!

What a great old-school diner! The decor has been preserved since the 1950s and definitely adds to the dining experience. I ordered a Mac & Cheese with pulled pork and fries. The pulled pork was definitely the highlight, whereas the mac & cheese was just alright. Would recommend giving this place a try!
