This cafe is great, lovely service and atmosphere. Very busy in comparison to the local cafes and restaurants.
For Canada, this is a 5 star breakfast. (Canada is awesome, but breakfast here is usually a bagel or something.. ausy breakfasts at cafes are epic..)
I think the guy serving owns the place. He was a lovey guy. Very friendly.
We will be back for sure.
Smoked salmon eggs benny with added turkey sausage. Fresh pressed coffee. All superb and delicious. Comfortable seating. A definite must visit for brunch in downtown Vancouver.
Came here for Sunday brunch after reading positive reviews and were treated to great food and outstanding service. Seems to be a popular place, so get there early. Big portions (you won’t go home hungry), and an overall good value. Highly recommended!
A small little bistro with characters located on Granville Street. From their welcoming staff all the way down to their menu, Twisted Fork Bistro will not fail to impress you.
We had Eggs Benedict that was served on brioche bread, with house-made hash brown & baked beans. Their Eggs Benedicts were cooked to perfection.
Overall, the food was scrumptious - and we were pleasantly gratified.
They might be on the expensive side, but we would say is definitely worth it.
Although I’ve read a lot about the long lineups and wait times of up to 1 hr during the weekends, the place was actually half-empty when I visited (12:30 pm on a Wednesday), and I was promptly seated. Although they have a pretty good variety of delicious-sounding breakfast/brunch items, I knew easily what I wanted to order: their famous French Toast. I also had a cup of their coffee to accompany my meal. The food was tasty, and I really liked the overall relaxed vibe of the place and the staff members, who were cheerful and friendly without ever being overbearing. While I do think that the restaurant is a tad over-hyped, I still had a great experience, and will certainly be coming back.
French Toast ($16.5)
4/5
This consisted of three large slices of brioche bread sandwiching a generous amount of banana filling, accompanied by fresh whipped cream, a shot glass of syrup and a few slices of strawberries and apples. The brioche bread was extremely soft and fluffy, with a slightly crispy exterior. Unfortuantely, the banana filling didn't do much for me; while it added a nice texture and fragrance (and of course, fibre and potassium), it was largely flavourless. In spite of the apperance, I actually found the french toast by itself to be on the bland side. Drizzled with the syrup and whipping cream however, and it was jsut perfect. I was also surprised by how filling it was; in spite of my massive appetite, I actually had to push myself to finish the last 1/2 slice.
Coffee ($4):
They serve their coffee in a french press. I can’t speak much about the quality of the coffee (I honestly can’t tell the difference between a cup from McDonalds or one from an acclaimed artisanal coffee shop like Timbertrain - they all taste the same to me), but I thought it was pretty fun to steep and pour my own coffee. There was about 3 cups worth in the press (I only had 2 as I haven’t been sleeping too well recently and didn’t want to over-caffeinate).
Our last breakfast stop on this mini vacation. We arrived at about 8:30 and there was plenty of room. Starting to fill up when we left.
All brunch items are the same price here. No kids' menu. They don't have pancakes/waffles, so the kids' choices were a little trickier.
The Wife had Smoked Salmon Eggs Benny. She thought it was good, but it was served on a slice of brioche that could have been toastier. Spinach and baked beans on the side. My wife enjoyed the spinach, but took a pass on baked beans for breakfast. I ate them. They were fine.
I had the Frittata. It was fine. Light on andouille and veggies. It came with a corn relish and some mixed greens. All fine. I wished I had chosen the French Toast.
The kids did choose the French Toast, but without bananas stuffed inside the brioche. It was pretty good. It came with a giant pile of vanilla whipped cream. We had to get some banana bread to supplement their syrup-breakfast appetites. The banana bread was tasty, but nothing special. It had nuts.
Twisted Fork was good, but I think I'd opt for Jam Cafe as our go to breakfast spot.
Simple brunch offerings. The egg benny was good, perfect egg, but compared to elsewhere, I'm not a huge fan of its side dishes. I liked the spinach but not so much the hash or the beans. Nothing bad with it in terms of tastes, just a personal preference.
When it comes to top places for brunch in Vancouver, Twisted Fork Bistro regularly makes the list. This quaint and cozy bistro located in the heart of the Granville Entertainment district in Downtown Vancouver serves brunch everyday from 8 am – 3 pm. They do not take reservations and hour-long waits are not uncommon. Although I have been living downtown for over 7 years now, I still had not tried this familial foodie favourite. Recently, I finally made plans to have a late day brunch at Twisted Fork Bistro.
We came here on a recommendation from a friend.... And it didn't't disappoint, it was fantastic food in a packed little vintage space with great buzz going for a morning and music to boot - jazz.
Although there wasn't a table available they were accommodating in allowing us to sit at the counter.
I did notice their polite message to ask patrons not to hang about once finished their food as others may very well be waiting.... Yes they may very well be waiting, as was I, desperate to try, I wanted to grab that seat and have breakfast but I didn't want to rush mine or anyone else's butt off it either I like to allow at least a little time for my food to settle.
Staff were busy although at times did find time to stand at the end of the counter and chat about life and missed the opportunity to be attentive hence the mark down in our review.
Tight place to eat and you'll likely wait a while to get a table , but they're very accommodating. And the food is great. Worth the wait. .................
If you plan on coming here for brunch - you need to be early! This place packs up quick over the weekend. The good thing about waiting in line is that yprovide them with your phone number and they will text you when your table is ready. I had the eggs benedict with bacon - nom nom nom. They also serve coffee in a french press which I found pretty neat. This restaurant is definitely recommendable!

I really wish this place was bigger! It's always a struggle to get in, but it's perfectly clear why. Vancouver institution for brunch, but I also pop in during my lunch hour at work if I get the chance. If you're looking to try it for the first time, they have queue information on their website, so you can get a rough idea of the wait.
went here a couple times, as i've mentioned previously i'm not a big fan of brunch, however if my friends invited me to this place i'm still okay with it, at the same time, i'm more curious on going on somewhere new, although, this place have not dissapoint me in terms of taste, price might be a little bit higher than what i wanted to be, but at the same time it's the average market price for an average brunch places around $12-20 per dish usually for me.
as for the taste i have not tried everything in the menu but the egg benny with salmon is definitely good, and i can't remember what i got for the other dish.
i remember dinner i had some sort of lamb shank and that was okay... definitely good as well
overall i will say the taste is definitely good, even though i'm not a brunch person but this place is alright.
We popped by the place for some brunch on a weekday. The place was pretty busy, but we chose to sit at the bar so were seated quickly. The place was nice and cozy, and the staff were friendly and laid-back. We ordered the frittata and the Gruyere baked eggs. Both tasted good, but honestly it didn't feel like anything especially different from the many brunch places in the city. Overall a solid choice for a filling brunch downtown, but perhaps not worth a special visit to.
Twisted Fork Bistro is one of the best places to get brunch - if you can get in, that is. The line ups are huge and can really demotivate one from going, but the poached eggs made here, all in the backdrop of great art, is really something. The eggs bennys with smoked salmon is my favourite, but the question really comes down to whether I am willing to wait so long for it.
What a spectacular place for brunch! I've always love this place. It never dissapoints me.
Went with some friends and I decided to try something new on the menu. I had the zucchini and veg scrambled eggs with sour dough breadx roasted tomatos and jam. So incredibly yummy. My friend had one of my favorites ( french toast, I usually get it without the bananas. ) , my other friend got the eggs Benny and beans. All of our meals were amazing! My friend bought home made jams as they are exceptional.
The coffee is always amazing and you can rest assured you can't go wrong with brunch here.
GO HERE!!
Outstanding Brunch. I am still deciding if this beats my all time favorite brunch spot in Van Catch 122, it's probabaly tied. The food here is super original, but tastes amazing. It's truly unique and delicious. You know it's a good restaurant when the owner is present. Chatted with him and you see the passion come through. They are thinking of doing a monthly dinner night not for money, but for fun. You have to try this place. There will be an hour wait, but they will text you when your table is ready so you can wander around with a friend. I went shopping at Main and 12th next door!
Delicious. Eggs Benny is my favourite and consistently great breakfasts. Have the coffee, French press will leave you wanting more! You can't go wrong here go early!
Cool queue system where they text you when your table is ready. Long lineup though. Expensive and a small menu (as expected with these kinds of restaurants) The food was good! Ordered the baked eggs; very interesting. Hash brown was burnt black but tasted amazing. Jam was amazing too.
Great low key French restaurant. Food is delish and prices are reasonable. Great casual meal! Small place but I e never had to wait long! Must eat here
Finally got a chance to try this cozy bistro, and was not disappointed. The Croque Monsieur was a hearty sandwich that was toasted just right, and served with a fresh side salad that had amazing dressing on it, will definitely come back again!
I really enjoyed having brunch at twisted fork. The stuffed banana French toast was perfect. The bacon eggs Benny was also very good. The accompaniments which was spinach, hash and beans was made beautifully.
I find this place to be slightly above average. Don't really understand why this place gets really good reviews and always has long lineups for brunch. I have had dinner and brunch here and brunch is obviously their forte. Eggs bennies were average, flavors in side dishes were nothing fancy (beans and spinach). Also had the french toast which was pretty dry (do not recommend). I think the place is overhyped, if I'm going to wait that long I'd rather go to Cafe Medina.
My current all-time favourite brunch spot. That's a huge statement to make for a foodie who loves food. I love how brunch is on everyday! Their eggs were poached perfectly, their scones were divine and their French toast is like no other! Their prices are also very friendly! I highly recommend this place for friends, family or even for yourself. I will most definitely be coming back here soon.
Tried the Croque Monsieur. The flavors are pretty good but parts of the toast were slightly burnt. Nice portion but long wait time.
Would return again to try some of the other dishes.
I've been hearing things about how The Twisted Fork "supposedly" has the BEST benny in Van. Pretty bold claim considering that almost every other restaurant has a benny haha!! My mom's pretty new to the whole brunch thing, so I decided to introduce her to Vancouver's awesome brunch scene with a trip to the Twisted Fork Bistro - rated #1 on Yelp for brunch!! :D The Twisted Fork is located in Granville's Entertainment District, a few steps away from The Templeton (another local favourite for brunch!!) I had to take my plate to the front door to take a photo LOL because it was really dark inside (which was really embarrassing) I always have this irrational fear that I'll trip or drop the plate on the floor but thankfully that hasn't happened yet LOL! :D Benny w/ Pork Cumberland Sausage, Hollandaise on Brioche Toast $13 w/ Sautéed Spinach, Rosti, Baked Beans on the side Mom's rating: 4.5/5 stars My mom gave this plate a SHOCKING 4.5 stars!! I wasn't surprised though, because I've been hearing people rave about their benny!! The benny looked pretty small in size but it was actually real
Great place for brunch. They have a lot of good options to choose from. I had the smoked salmon eggs benny and it came with a side of beans, spinach and a bit of hash brown. I definitely would have preferred more potatoes but that's their twist to the traditional diner dish. I was also able to stick my fork into my friends dishes so I was able to try the gruyere baked eggs, frittata and the french toast. We also ordered a side of scones. All of which were really delicious.
The interior is a bit small and cramped. They also don't take reservations. We ended up waiting for a little over an hour but it was worth it. The host that took our phone number and sat us was a bit of a sass cakes but we took no offense and thought it was even a bit entertaining.
Nice lil place. Came here for brunch, the place has rustic nice feels to it. It was cozy and feels good to have a nice brunch.
The price isn't that expensive as compare to Calgary! the portion is good for the price. The sausage is what I liked most as it was not that salty.
Bacon eggs beni. Awesome. Baked eggs. Awesome. Worth the wait. Best thing about the wait is they take your ph# and text you when table is almost ready. So you dont have to stand there for half an hour.
Interesting, unpretentious and most of all - DELICIOUS!. Fantastic breakfast - I had the eggs benny, with the cumberland sausage.
The eggs were excellent tasting and cooked to perfection (as well they should be, but you'd be surprised how often they're not), and the hollandaise was delicious and creamy without being excessively rich and overpowering the eggs. The cumberland sausage was halved lengthways, sliced into pieces served between the bread and eggs, and added a meaty taste to the dish - again, not overpowering but definitely present. Aside this was a tasty rosti with spinach, and a small ramekin of baked beans. A well balanced, unpretentious dish that was both interesting and worthy of ordering again and again.
The location itself is delightfully decorated, well serviced by the friendly staff, and features cosy seating and ambience.
Very impressed.
Best place for breakfast/brunch. Our server's name is David and he was great. The eggs benny and banana stuffed french toast are simply delicious! Highly highly recommended.
Dinner was amazing, brunch, meh.. We stumbled across this neat little place on vacation while looking for some dinner. Their Wednesday night 3 course dinner was amazing and very filling! A few days later we figured they were known for their brunches so we'd try it out after our amazing dinner experience. There was nothing really wrong with our breakfasts, but it was kind of disappointing. The hollandaise sauce was bland and virtually tasteless, good thing there was hardly any on my benny! I must say though, unlike many breakfast places they actually cooked my eggs as I requested, so there is that.
Can I eat here everyday. Hair of the dog you ask?! umm, yes please.
Ladies and Gentlemen its time for a Brutus. I moved away from the coast few months back and boy do I miss the fork.
When the door swings open you are smacked in the face with a waft of breakfast delight and some spice. Twisted fork is doing lots of things right. The atmosphere says sit and stay awhile and the food backs it up.
Usually a few minutes await you for a table during key times but no worry there... let them grab you a Brutus to hold you over. Brutus is a 'killer ceaser' and looks like something out of a horror movie but is now possibly my favourite drink anytime of day but am/mid afternoon for shizzle!
The menu is full of typical looking brunch dishes but each one seems to have its own spin. Example being the Gruyere-baked Eggs; Basically english-breakfast, sourdough toast, baked beans, tomato, bacon, tates but it packs a punch without the stack of meat in your traditional EB.
Looking for something lite try the Arugula salad, or bacon scallops, or mussels.. try it all.
Dinner time I can't say for myself just yet, but next time I'm back for a visit ill meet you there.
Brutus!!!!
Absolutely amazing. Came here today for breakfast for the first time, I've been a cook for the last 13years and I've never had a breakfast this good... I had the pleasure of giving my compliments to the owner/manager as I was leaving... Highly suggest, would definitely go again
So delicious for dinner we went back for breakfast the next day. We had two meals at Twisted Fork within 15 hours and both were terrific. Dinner: Great service was provided with terrific recommendations made on not just what was good to eat but also a little Vancouver insider knowledge about what to do - as visitors to Vancouver we appreciated both. My son had the lambshanks with potato mash and tumeric cauliflower (yum), my lucky husband had the Halibut which he was silent when eating which always indicates that he loves it and doesn't want to share it and I had the lentil and quinoa stuffed capsicum and eggplant. All servings were generous and well priced with the only slight complaint being that the lentil and quinoa stew was only mildly warm. Dessert was an absolute highlight. We shared basil creme brulee and our son had the caramel mousse with raspberry coulis. So supremely pretty and delicious - I wish we hadn't shared the creme brulee and I'd had my own!
So to breakfast. We got there a couple of minutes before 9 o'clock and was disappointed to see a line outside the door. Ggggrrr ... I'm too old to queue. But I begrudgingly stood in line and was delighted when we were able to be seated straight away. Two servings of Eggs Benny were ordered but only one came out. Never mind - the wonderful waiter (owner?) admitted that his "fat fingers" had pushed the wrong button and he kindly gave us the order for free. A delicious serving of Gruyere Baked eggs with all the sides including the much wanted baked beans. Speaking of beans ... he noted that we had asked especially if the Eggs Benny had beans so he knew my husband wanted them - so out he bought another serving. Why thank you very much! I ordered fruit salad and asagio scones. Oh my oh my! melt in your mouth, light, fluffy, tasty scones with jam and cream. Now, I consider myself quite the scone connoisseur so I can confidently say that these are the best I've ever had. Yes - the best. I'm devastated that we live in Australia and I'll probably not get to try them again.
So Twisted Fork - thank you. Your service was outstanding, the food delicious, interesting and well priced. I really wish I had that Asagio scone recipe!
Great food, great atmosphere.. One of my first meals as a Vancouverite was at the Twisted Fork and I really enjoyed it. I had the dinner special of prime rib, mashed potatoes, vegetables, yorkshire pudding and a beer for $20 and it was completely worth it. Delicious food and great service. It's a small bistro so it can get really crowded but the food more than makes up for it.
Although the wait was over an hour on a Sunday, it was worth it. Small, intimate setting. Great service. Eggs Benny with maple lager sausage and the wife's sausage and eggs were outstanding. Try a Brutus for an unusual morning kick. The bottomless French press coffee was a nice touch.
Delicious!. One of my favourite places to go for breakfast if I'm not too lazy to drive to downtown! Absolutely love their French toast !
Cozy. Very quaint, good service and an interesting menu. One of the best spots in downtown Vancouver!
Good but not worth the wait. Went for brunch on Sunday and we had to wait for an hour and 15 minutes - which wasn't that big of a deal because we had read good reviews. Overall, the atmosphere is a 5/5 but the food was closer to a 2.5/5.
We had the eggs bene, which was OK - the bread felt stale as if it had been under warming lights all morning. Coffee was good though.
I'd go back, but not during the weekend when the wait is so long.
Great meal!. We had the mussels, chicken with brie and duck breast - all of it was delicious. I'd higher recommend this place. Best part is that the prices are reasonable. There aren't many places of this calibre that give you value. Service was excellent and friendly. I can't wait to go back!
Benny!. Amazing Eggs Benedict, loads of bacon on a brioche bread... absolutely delicious! Coffee press is cool too :)
Missing one thing. One of the few great places for brunch in Vancouver. A terrific eggs benny, and friendly service. But its a real let down that there is no espresso, just mediocre french press. It could be even better.
I went in to twisted fork with my girlfriend and some friends last night. I was quite impressed! We were greeted with smiles and a light joke from the owner. The service was amazing with no request going unanswered. We ate tendrrloin skewers, goat cheese tart ,frites, scallops, risotto, we ate it all as tapas and the flavors were so unique and complimentary. At the end of dinner I walked by brad our server, he was preparing a chocolate terrine, he offered me a little taster which I brought to the table. With none of us being desert people we all decided to order one in the full size version! Great evening thank you!
First off I have to applaud their waiting system. Since they dont take reservations, you have the option to leave your number and they'll text you when you're next on the list! We ordered the Tuesday mussel special, scallops, duck breast, and risotto. My fav would be the scallops, which were juicy and tender, contrasting well with the crunchy corn salsa on top. Waitress was friendly and helpful. Good choice for a dinner with friends!
I've eaten here twice this week. The food is inspired and creative, the portions ample, the price fair, and the staff both friendly and attentive. "A".
My boyfriend and I discovered this hidden gem. We had brunch here twice in one week. The banana-stuffed French toast and smoked salmon eggs benedict were terrific, but our favourite was the banana jam! Our only disappointment is that they didn't have banana jam available to buy. Excellent food, excellent service.
Great place!!! Brunch is killer and the drinks follow suit. If you have the chance sit at the wood, staff is super friendly and hilarious. Definitely a must!
Did not enjoy the beef bourguignon. It tasted like a can of Campbell soup. Beef wasn't very tender. Love the atmosphere, the service and the duck was quite lovely. So I still give it the thumbs up. But avoid the beef.
Waited 15 mins for table, Fantastic Brunch.. Would definitely go again.
We went for breakfast on a sunday waited about 30mins even though the urban spoon app said there was tables available at the time. Food was very good i had scrambled eggs and my wife had the Salmon bennies, both dishes were excelent and french press coffee put the whole meal over the top. Yes it was very crowded and the app saying tables were available when they clearly were not for 30 mins was annoying, overall id say we had a great time staff was friendly service was quick and foood was awesome! Definetly will be back
Muchroom salad. Lots of flavour in such a small plate.
LOVED it!. My husband says he doesn't really like French food, but I was so happy that I convinced him to go there on a Friday night.
A great variety of menu including wine and cocktails, warm service, plus awesome live atmosphere.
My husband loved it there and so did I.
One of my favorite dish is a lamb shank and they have a superb one there!!
Yum yum half price mussels. I had the mussels on a half price Tuesday night. Loved it! Not too expensive for a pound of mussels. The sauce was just incredible. The order didn't look like there was much, but I was quite surprised that it was so filling.
The bread was also quite tasty. It was warm and great for dipping the sauce from the mussels.
However, the waitress was a little unfriendly, I thought.
Definately would go back.
Delicious!. My girlfriend and I came here for Sunday brunch. The place is small so a line will form quite quickly, but I believe it's well worth the wait. We both had an eggs benny, and they were amazing. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the portions were pretty large for the price, and it came with nice little sides. The drinks were a little expensive The ambiance and atmosphere were great, and it just boosted the overall experience. We'll definitely be coming back!
Great place to go eat!. I have tried to come back for brunch a couple of times and couldn't because there was a huge lineup...this was kind of not good (for me) but it speaks volumes on what you can look forward to in coming here. Great food, especially brunch! Hope to be able to make it in this weekend!
Excellent dinner. Took a friend here, and then later recommended it to my parents. All of us had a wonderful time here, great atmosphere and subtly different and delicious food.
One of the best dining experiences i've had!. Oh man...this place is good. My girlfriends and I were staying in Vancouver for the night and wanted to eat somewhere intimate with good drinks and fresh food. We researched a few places online and went to check this place out. For a Monday night, it was hoppin, probably due to their amazing $10 off any bottle of wine special! We were told there was a wait for a table, so we sat at the bar and ordered a bottle of wine to get started. The bartender was charming and genuine. He was excited to tell us about the menu items and the wine list, while also respecting our conversation. (There's nothing more annoying than a cheesy bartender interrupting girl talk). When our table was ready, we were led to a cozy, candlelit nook. We loved our server; she had an amicable and unique personality. We decided to order a bunch of shared plates, rather than entrées. We started with the cheese plate which consisted of a generous portion of cheeses and meat, olives, and fruit. When we were done with the plate, our server attentively wiped down our entire table and replenished our silverware. Then we ordered the snails, mussels, and the tomato mushroom salad. Everything was so delicious, the mussels being our favorite. (Just to emphasize: Holy crap those mussels were fantastic). We had some back up plates on our list to order in case we were still hungry, but there was no need! We were stuffed, and after our second bottle of wine, the kitchen sent us over a complimentary dessert (some sort of chocolate-raspberry deliciousness). We ended our night sharing a cerveza float (a pint of lager with a shot of tequila topped with sweet lime sorbet). The three of us only spent about $40 each including the tip. Damned good deal for some damned good food. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for something modern with an old-world twist.
Great for brunch.. I came in for brunch on a Friday, hearing how good this place was. Stopped in and had the french toast. I expected a couple slices and some banana inside. What I got was a pair of french-toast sandwiches that I was struggling to finish. The toast was very warm and moist, and the filling was flavourful. I'll definitely come again.
The Wanderfull Traveler
+4.5
A delicious experience. Although the tables are a little too close together the food is really delicious - tastes like homemade French cuisine and the atmosphere is charming. The bar is really adorable and has a lot of character.
Great place for a first date or the impending Valentine's Day! Good location in relation to plays, hotels, clubs, lounges and shopping!
A Traveller's Benchmark. Travelling through Canada, I spent a week in Vancouver (I loved this city!) and on my last evening stopped at The Twisted Fork for dinner. I arrived late and took a seat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and helpful, mixing me a complimentary cocktail while I made my selections and, along with waiters and chefs that also put in their two cents, offered me advice and information about the various courses.
The food, to say the least, was delicious. Incomparable. Better than the best, hippest and most hole-in-the-wall restaurants I have eaten in, in any of the 46 countries I have visited. The goats cheese tart was creamy and had a subtle piquancy which was delightful. The beet salad - divine. The scallops however bordered on sensual indecency. Every mouthful was full to bursting with flavor, velvet and tart, textured and aesthetically pleasing. The puree provided an underlying creaminess and mellowness to the dish, which was highlighted by the crunchy, salty bacon pieces, the sweet, balsamic caramel onions and the indescribably amazing corn relish. Wow. The scallops though - I have dreamt of. The chipotle and thyme marinade subtly flavoured their natural brininess. The cooking was perfect, spot-on - crisp and golden on the exterior, soft and slighlty translucent in the middle.
The Twisted Forks Scallops set the bar for every meal I have eaten since. They were, without a doubt, the best morsel of food I have ever eaten, enough so that I wanted to order it again immediately after finishing the whole bowl. I can, without any hesitation, recommend the Twisted Forks for its exemplary service, delightful ambience, wonderful beverages and wine list, helpful staff and fabulous, memorable, gastronomically sensational food. A must!
Great New Granville Restaurant. We needed to go early as we had plans later in the night and glad we did. Besides the fact that they have a great 3 course special early (for only $28) it got busy quick! Great service, great food - will definitely be back!
Fabulous in so many ways ! Cozy room, good vibe, friendly professional but not intrusive service! And of course the food was delicious, creative fresh flavours! The caramel and raspberry dessert was to die for. Also great prices on wine . Will be back for sure :) Thanks for a great meal !!
Great Brunch!. I have gone here several times for Brunch. It is such a unassuming place and if it wasn't for the 30+ people standing outside waiting for a coveted spot inside, you would pass right by it.
The food is fantastic and definitely homemade. It takes a little longer to get, but it is WORTH the wait ;)
I have had their Banana stuffed Brioche French Toast several times. I have tried the Eggs Benny with Chorizo (many other selections for this) and last week I had the Croque Monsieur. Every time the service has been excellent and the food on point. Anyone that I have taken here has been blown away. You know it is good when people stand outside for an hour + on some Sunday's. They open at 10a.m. I usually get there at 9:40 and line up (yes there is already a line). When you do that, you are pretty much guaranteeing a seat without the hour + wait. Either way, it is worth it.
Abundance. The hour wait was so well worth it, even perched at the bar as we were. The food is good, really good, in a strip of pizza slices and take away food where fast and greezy is the norm, Twisted Fork makes no apologies for their slower service which comes with smackings of flavour and piled high plates. My banana french toast was as good as I've had anywhere, in fact it was better than I've had anywhere, and my partner's croque monsieur will remain a talking point for years to come. We nearly finished it, and that's saying something..... Can I please take this place back to Melbourne....
Totally worth the hype and the wait!. One of the best brunch spots in Vancouver! Absolutely lived up to all the hype! Despite waiting about 45 minutes for a table, it was well worth it. Enjoyed the "brutus"... a caesar with dijon, dill and horseradish... and the croque monsieur. Service was friendly and efficient and the food was amazing. Would definetely go back.
Word of advice? Wake up early, and make sure you are hungry!
This is hands down the BEST food I've ever had. I can't say anything but WOW!!! very nice, romantic atmosphere, very chill, loved the decor. The "small fork" menu is so varied and very tasty. My boyfriend had the scallops and bacon; scallops were cooked perfectly, and the flavones balanced perfectly. I had the sautéed mushrooms; sooo delicious, the drizzle of truffle oil on top is just enough to take this dish up a notch. For his entree my boyfriend had the duck, which was cooked flawlessly; beautiful crispy skin and perfectly done on the inside. I highly recommend the chicken supreme; stuffed with goat cheese and oregano, it's so juicy it practically melts on your tongue. It's served with a sublime risotto and sautéed mushrooms. We were so impressed, especially with the staff who were so attentive, and very knowledgable about the food and paired it with the perfect wine for us. Hats off to the Twisted Fork Bistro, thanks for giving these out of towners an amazing culinary experience!!!
Blue Fence Special a Weeknight Winner. After reading about the Twisted fork Bostro on Urbanspoon I knew I had to pay it a visit. If you go M-Th between 6 and 7pm they have a Blue Fence Special which is an app, entree, and dessert for $28. Since I am a budget business traveler this was perfect. They only have certain items to choose from for the special but I thought there a good variety.
For my starter I had a gruyere and carmelized onion tart. The tart was cheesy and paired perfectly with the dressed greens and pear chutney it is served with. For my entree I had the braised lamb shank with grilled polenta. While I thought the lamb could have used a little more seasoning it was tender and delicious. The grilled polenta was a perfect side to mop up the yummy lamb gravy. There were also two canned plums on the side that offered a nice sweetness to the lamb. For dessert I ordered the chocolate ganache tart. This was the only disappointing part of my meal. The pastry was rock hard and not tender or flakey at all. The ganache was ok but only had one note to the flavor - sweet. The tart was accompanied but a cannel of lavender ice cream that didn't tast of lavender at all. The coffee was very good and I liked that you get your own french press pot at your table.
Overall, I give the Twisted Fork Bistro two thumbs up and would recommend stopping in; just don't order the chocolate tart.
I had the best brunch here! I ordered the Pulled pork eggs Benny and they were so well seasoned, perfectly cooked and the side of potatoes was such a perfect complement! They melted in my mouth and didn’t need any extra dressing cause they were so flavourful alone. I also got their feature croissant and it blew my mind! Perfect buttery and flaky layers of pastry, filled with a rich mascarpone and berry cream. I would go back to this place for that croissant alone because it was something out of a dream for pastry and dessert lovers. The waitress and the rest of the staff were incredibly kind and attentive the whole time. Highly recommended, their great ratings are so well deserved!
A sweet little brunch place with unique dishes. They take reservations which is very good for brunch, and their dishes are quite large portion wise. The KFC pancake was very saucy and I wish the pancake was thicker to absorb it all, although it's pretty good in terms of variety. The chorizo sandwich was more like a burger though, albeit very tasty. The lavender latte was excellent! Good service as well.
We made reservations, and only allowed 75mins to have meal which was too short, to be honest. But I understand because there are always long line up outside.
Service was good, food looks pretty. But too noisy (just too busy, not their fault)
Great experience. Food, atmosphere, decor and service — checks all the box. We had Churros for starter, Bulgogi steak n egg, Salmon gravlax bagel, BELT sandwich and Tiramisu. Everything was perfectly done.
Price might seem bit expensive but compared to other places in Vancouver, I think its fine. Overall, highly recommended.
It was a bit difficult to find and the parking is not convenient as for some reason the city of Vancouver has limited all car parking on the street. But, once we found this place we were delighted. It's got a real nice feel on the inside. It's cozy, but open and has beautiful mood lighting with elegant lights all throughout the restaurant. Once you step in you can't help but notice the window of freshly in-house baked goods and the bar right behind it. Loved the FengShui of the place. It's one of those restaurants that you just wanna spend time in, but I guess due to its popularity, on the weekend each table has a cap of 1.5 hours.
The dark coffee and Americano were great. Full body, smooth and piping hot. We tried the Mixed Berry croissant and the Nutella croissant. They were both incredible! My favourite was the Mixed Berry. If you're there you have to try the Mixed Berry! We ordered the Pulled Pork Benny, Avocado Toast and the Chorizo Breakfast Sandwich.
They were all presented tastefully. The Avocado Toast and Chorizo were both on point with their ingredients, flavour profile and consistency. However, I didn't like the Pulled Pork Benny, which was my dish.
(Murphy's Law....right! the one dish not so good goes to the one writing the review LOL)
Pulled Pork if done right is one of the tastiest dishes in my opinion. However, it's hard to make, because it has to keep its moisture at the same time the amount of sugar which can dry out meat has to be carefully navigated. My Pulled Pork was so sweet that I couldn't eat much of it. The amount of sugar was so much that I couldn't taste the pork and overpowered even the egg yolk and since I had the wonderful croissant just before my main, it was too much sugar for me. Instead of the Pulled Pork being slightly sweet and savoury it was sweet, sweet, sweet. I'm afraid I didn't much enjoy the potatoes either just because they were slightly burned and oily, so again you just tasted the oil. The salad was lightly dressed and fresh so I had most of that.
The service was great! Anna was our server and she did a wonderful job. We were never left wanting.
The restaurant itself is in a bit of a shady neighbourhood, but I guess that's not much of a big deal, as when you step in, the atmosphere is completely different and takes you in completely.
First time and definitely not last! Randomly came across this place and it was such a delightful experience. The service is top notch attentive, professional and knowledgeable of menu. The food is AMAZING! We had the churros so soft and fresh, the Dulce de Leche Cronut so good! The choirzo breakfast sandwich was so tasty and the dutch baby berry one was perfectly sweet and satisfying. I am so happy I came here and will for sure be back. Prices reasonable for the quality of food you will receive. It's proper baked good, coffee and desserts.
This place is amazing! If you're looking for a nice brunch place in Vancouver and can't seem to find any, think no more and just come here. First things first, the service was impeccable! Our server was so enthusiastic and engaging, and gave us the best recommendations. She recommended the Mushroom Bagel and the Salmon Bagel (as seen in the last picture), and they definitely did not disappoint. The servings are HUGE for such a reasonable price, we had a hard time finishing... but every bite was like heaven. There was so much flavour in each dish and they all tasted so fresh. Asides from those main meals, we got the Berry Mascarpone Croissant as well as their churros, and I cannot emphasize enough how good they are! The churros are cooked to the perfect amount and pair so nicely with the dulce de leche and Irish cream. The croissant was such a nice addition to the cappuccino and Lavender Oat Latte! It's a perfect balance of sweet and savoury and you can't find a place with food like this anywhere else. The ginger lemonade was refreshing too!
I will 100% happily return, but it's important to reserve a table beforehand as it is very busy! And when it is at the peak point, they limit the dining time to an hour and fifteen minutes (but are still flexible)!
