Very nice place, tastefull coffee and friendly staff. Love the brew bar and the different blends! Keep up the coolness guys.
It was the first time I had tried coffee this way. It was very unique and delicious. Will definitely be back and recommend Revolver to those wanting something off the beaten path in regards to coffee or tea.
Revolver has restored my faith in coffee in Canada. Two weeks ago I had given up finding similar coffee to what I am used to drinking in Australia.
I liked the revolver, we had the Americano and steamed milk and we both had a bacon cheddar scone. Delicious! We needed a place to use the bathroom, my daughter who is 4 went here. She said she didn't like the coffee shop because there was no carpet or flowers on the table. But that's what a 4 yr old thinks, haha! It was very clean and friendly! I totally recommend!
loved the goji ethopia over the pour over. Overall great place, really knowledgable staff and inviting people. loved talking with the owner about coffee and sharing stories and passion! keep up the great work ya'll!
I was so happy, to find this brew bar (after many bad experiences in town). I had a beautiful natural from our grandmaster Rubens Gardelli, awesome!!!
If you are ever in Vancouver, this is the place to have coffee! It's by far the best. It's very rare to find the person operating a coffee machine knowledgeable about the coffee they are making. What roast, where it was roasted, the characteristics of it and its origin. I spent two days in Vancouver and I had all my coffee from there. Very nice staff :) Excellent coffee and Excellent choices of beans!!
The espresso flight is special, but the coffee is generally too.
I love this place like no other. It has the best coffee in Vancouver, really chill and friendly staff, quick service, and I can write there for hours on end.
I experienced the most amazing customer service today at Revolver. I accidentally spill my iced latte at the pick up counter. I felt bad about making a mess but the barista in a pink shirt immediately mopped the floor and wipe down the counter and they made me a second cup in lightning speed. I walked out of the store and moments later the same barista came running after me with a tissue and told me I have spilled some coffee on my shoes and started wiping it for me! Mind blown. On top of all this, the coffee is always good here as usual.
It's a bit Hipster but a George Clinton remix just came on so all is forgiven. This said the coffee is good, really good. All the lattes are the same size 10.5 oz - so order two.
I've been told of Revolvers goodness but it was so much better than I expected! Knowledgable and friendly team! It's refreshing to be served with zero ego from great Baristas! Thanks for the amazing Tasting Flight. They have several roasters and Single Origins/-Blends on offer. I did the Tasting Flight and a perfectly poured Latte for the road. I also picked up some beans for friends in Aus. Their archive room was great too! Refreshing to have something this great in Canada! Thanks for having me friends!
We were finally able to get a seat at Revolver! Ordered the brew flight with the Luna espresso. We got a shot of espresso, americano, and latte with the flight. Delicious, smooth coffee, definitely worth the wait. Probably the best coffee we have had in the city. The latte was our favourite of the three. Definitely come by if you haven't already!

Revolver cafe has a unique theme and we were definitely impressed by their way of dining and the the kind of ambiance they had. The food was also very nice and it was great to choose this place
My favourite place to grab some coffee. Their amazing selection of drip coffees from all around the world are rich with the flavours described on the menu. Only con is how loud the music is and the lack of outlets.
Been here a few times. Hubby is fine with any type of black coffee. I Love the macchiato here, just wish it could be a bigger cup for me☺️ will try different one next time.
I always want to try the coffee at this place since it has lots of good reviews. Finally we had a chance to head down to this place on a cold clear day. The place was pretty small, not many seats but they were busy. I ordered a cappuccino and bought two different espresso beans (Heart Stereo Blend and H Espresso Ethiopia Mohamed Ali) for home. The cappuccino was not bad, stronger flavour than other places but the milk wasn’t as creamy as Rocanini. It had a good flavour but I still think the best cappuccino was at Rocanini but it was definitely one of the top coffee shop in town so far for me.
Rating for coffee:
Cappuccino at cafe: 4/5
H Espresso Ethiopia Mohamed Ali: 5/5 (one of the best coffee beans I ever tasted. It’s quite delicate taste)
Heart Stereo Blend: 3/5 ( very average, molasses overpowering the coffee taste)
• one of the best coffee place in Metro Van!
• street or garage parking
• located along Cambie close to Cordova
• pretty cool, hipster cafe
• Different beans from around the world
• I had the latte, didn’t need to have any sweetener as their bean is that good!
• small tables by the front, good for 2 people; large long table at the back, communal
• nice variety of pastries, cakes & croissants to match your coffee
When it comes to top coffee shops in Vancouver, Revolver Coffee is certainly one of them if not *the* number one spot. Coffee snobs and not-so-snobby coffee lovers have consistently rated Revolver Coffee as the best place in Vancouver to get caffeinated. Revolver Coffee serves has a revolving (pun intended) menu of beans from top notch roasters around the world including local ones like Bows & Arrows (Victoria) and Matchstick (Vancouver).
Beautiful coffee shop with plenty of space to read and work, chat and catch up. Their large selection of coffees and espressos satisfies every coffee drinker. The baristas really know their stuff! I was pretty intimidated by the choice, so I asked for help to choose from their extensive list of beans for my macchiato. Although I can’t remember which roast it was, except that it had dark chocolate and berry notes, I think it might’ve been one of my favorites.
Atmosphere: Narrow like a shoebox, but I was able to find seating at the window next to the door. The door doesn't close itself, so if you sit there, you find yourself closing the door a lot. Service: No complaints. Bottom line: I didn't watch the whole process but it seemed like there was a lot of people who worked behind the counter servicing customers after they ordered their drinks. Slow pour into a Japanese beaker that kept my brewed coffee hot. I had it black, it was less acidic than my previous one from other place. The chocolate cookie actually complimented the coffee but neutralizing the acidity. The overall experience was nice though, great seats to people watch.
Excellent Coffee options. Always enjoy getting a Duet of a new coffee option or an old favorite(Hathaway). Now the "Duet" is off menu, it is your espresso split as one straight up and one as a macchiato letting you try your espresso both with and without milk. Usually get the gluten free chocolate almond cake for after my espresso is through as well, not too sweet always nice if there are any left when I arrive. Just wish there was sparkling water.
There reaaly isn't much wrong with this place. The order taker is friendly. The cappuccino's and latte's are perfectly made. I had their ginger cake with my drink, it was delicious – nit too sweet. I wish they didn't add the spices that made it taste like a carrot cake though. The size of the boths and rooms are nice, intimate. Pleasant to be in, and provides a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy drink, coffee and coversation.

Arguably the most famous coffee shop in Vancouver, Revolver is a stylishly designed, urban chic, very ‘gastown’ looking establishment, putting out some of the best coffee in the city. Their bean selection is extensive, you can chose a dozen different ways to have your coffee brewed and in my experience the staff are friendly and infinitely knowledgeable about the beans we all know and love.
Best coffee so far in Vancouver. Nice ambience, coffee is really important for the barista, taking care of every aspect of its preparation. Beautiful place, well decorated simple and nice.
i have been to this place once with my friend. She recommended me this place.i loved their coffee.and this is great place for coffee lovers like me
The drinks here are great, and it's a great place to socialize or work. I also thought it was cute that they had little umbrella hooks on the wall. I can't wait to try more things here :)
Great quality coffee (we tried the latte) and nice option of healthy energy cookie. Good ambient music and decor. Staff not friendly though.
Really great coffee in a really neat venue. They have brews from around Canada and international roasts as well. One of the top cafes in Gas Town, which has some pretty stiff competition with the likes of East Van Roasters and Milano Coffee nearby.
Revolver lives up to its hype. Staff are quite knowledgeable about their coffee and are always willing to help you make a good choice on what to get.
Delicious coffee in a lovely neighbourhood. Service was a bit slow but we really enjoyed the ambiance! We'll definitely come back next time we're in town!
Yes! What a great coffee shop. Love the layout and the contemporary decor. Only thing is, I wish there were more seats. People tend to camp out there for a long time, therefore leaving new customers to stand and drink their coffee or leave.
I've only gone here once but it was a good experience. It seemed like a place you could just sit back and read a book while enjoying your coffee. The latte I got was really good, the expresso they added in was fresh and normally I need sugar with my lattes or any sort of coffee but surprisingly I was able to drink it without adding any sugar.
Their coffee selection is among the best in town. No wonder they are so incredibly popular during the day - it can be very hard to find seating.
It's gutsy, at best, for anyone to say they are the best at anything. But if any café has earned the right in this city, you could concede it would be Revolver Coffee. Soon enough, you'll understand, this popular independent stands apart from others. Their pinpoint sharp vision is unnerving, maybe like staring down the barrel of a gun. They say their purpose is simple: to give customers the best coffee and experience in a café.Time has passed quickly. But this year would not be complete without a visit to this café - that would be Stop 48 in our weekly Search for Vancouver's Best Coffee.
This is definitely somewhere with a very hipster, very laid back vibes. It’s picture worthy and it’s a great place to either hang with your friends or do some work on your laptop.
Is this the best coffee in town? After reading rave reviews we felt the need to visit Revolver.
The best coffee in town shouldn't be what other people tout as the best, but what you decide based on your own preferences.
The coffee here has very innovative pure ways of brewing coffee. I suggest a tasting flight to find the bean you like best.
Is this the best coffee in town? They do have unique beans and preparation methods, but we didn't find a bean that was amazing enough to give Revolver that title...remind you this is just one person's opinion.
Best coffee shop in town. Any coffee afficionado should stop at Revolver once to get a taste of the best roasters. Lots of options to choose from and they have all the coffee beans you can think of. Don't feel shy to ask which one to try as the people at the counter are very friendly and knowledgeable.
This coffee will have you so hyper you'll have people looking at you funny. Mainly because it'll look like you have a twitch in 6 parts of your body but its all good because you're trying to hope no one will notice while you're doped off the caffeine.
But seriously, the coffee is delicious. Ask the people behind the counter if you're unfamiliar with the selection. They are wonderful staff. The way they prepare the coffee is unreal as well.
It's a shame they're closed Sundays. They lose half a point for that. I'd love to go back for a flight!
Why I love this place: best lattes in Vancouver. Hands down!
Would I come back: most definitely!
Would I recommend it to others: yes! I always say revolver for coffee. Oh and order the pioneer roll!
Every coffee connoisseur will appreciate this little Gastown gem. The coffee is spectacular and the cafe has a really unique vibe. Try the cortado - my favorite one in Vancouver.
The second best coffee bar in Vancouver, Revolver is located in the hip gastown district. They serve excellent espresso and can prepare coffee in a myriad of different ways such as cold press, siphon and pour over.
Excellent coffee. I ordered two macchiato and a cold brewed coffee since I was in a hurry. There were several options for the espresso part. The original was the least bitter. The drinks taste different than all other coffee I have ever had. The cold brewed coffee resembled some coffee I had in France last winter.
The downside is there are few seating. The decor and service were great nevertheless.
With Vancouver's cemented coffee culture, Revolver Coffee is probably the standard by which I usually compare all Vancouver coffee shops to with their serious attitude towards caffeinated beverages.
Coffee masters. Trendy coffee shop in Gastown. Extensive choice of beans, coffee prepared with precision. This place stands out among a vast array of coffee joints in the area. Worth the detour.
6 out of 5 stars!. I used to live in a sad (what I thought was) reality where Vancouver didn't know s*** about coffee and JJ Bean made the best espresso in town. I'm so tired of getting mediocre coffee from hipster d-bags lifting their standard thick-framed-glasses-wearing noses high in the air, while their neatly trimmed beards hold in the dying remnants of brains in their vacant, cloned faces. I haven't been to all of the notable independent cafes here yet and so far they are all posing...but Revolver. Wow! They are untouchable! The ambiance - better. The service - more better. The brew - Perfect! Be sure to hydrate - Revolver will turn drooling into your full time job!
Best coffee shop in Vancouver. I've been to well over 30+ coffee bars/cafes in Vancouver and it's safe to say, Revolver is head and shoulders above their competition. Their baristas are skillful + knowledgeable, coffee selection is excellent, and the space is very hip. I love it.
They do coffee tastings on Fridays at noon at the archive. It's an excellent time to visit.
Only complaint is that they're not open on Sundays.
Alternatives: Revolver is my hands down favourite, but couple others worth mentioning: Matchstick, 49th Parallel, Elysian
Likes and dislikes. Like that the cappuccinos come in a cute little glass. Don't like that this place feels like every other third wave coffee shop, although the design is beautiful. Do like how there is a choice between two different espresso beans. Do like how fast my cappuccino was pulled and poured. Do like that they expanded to the neighbouring space (apparently not long ago)--yay, more seats. All in all good for what it is, maybe I need to try more pour-over to fully appreciate what these folks are doing...
Noticed that The Baker & the Chef Sandwich Cafe is across the street--definitely worth going for a bite there after coffee.
Best pour over. What a great place. I was recommended to try this place by my local Barista in Perth and he was right on the money.
Without a doubt these are the best pour overs I have had. Can easily pick up the fruity/floral notes from the beans. Its just so well balanced.
Guys are great here, happy to talk about the coffee thats on offer.
I love the fact they have the aeropress as part of their equipment range.
By far best pour over in Vancouver, if not North America.
Well deserved reputation. This is a great coffee shop . loved the coffee, from San francsico. Great old pioneer amp with record player.
Revolver is amazing. It's a highly customer service based coffee shop with an outstanding drink selection. The fact that they are able to successfully maintain such a high quality with such a wide selection of coffees available from different roasters is impressive. As rare as it is to get this high quality of coffee prepared to perfection it is even rarer to have baristas with great interpersonal skills and excel at customer service. I recommend this cafe to anyone and everyone, especially those who would like to learn and expand their knowledge about specialty coffee.
Brilliant Coffee. Im abit of a coffee snob...not that i know alot about coffee...just that im super fuss about good coffee..having just arrived in vancouver 11 days ago, i have been on sort of a search for the best coffee to tie me tnrough my next couple of years while i complete my masters...tried a few places that were recommended by different people...
but google proves once again to be my best friend ...Revolver comes out top when i googled best coffee places in vancouver...located at 325 cambie street..about 40 minutes away by bus from UBC...small cosy place which probably seat 20 max....decked in earthy/woody decor..with indie music on the vinyl player, it exhudes a charm that is both seductive yet strangely welcoming. i had the cappucino which was brillant..smooth coupled with a good punch of espresso and velvet finish...
now the espresso is the killer, i believe its the guatemala beans...not sure whether i got it right..but each sip you take , u are able to immediately taste the acidity of the beans..the right amount that doesnt kill your taste buds instead it teases your palate as it runs from the tip of your tongue and as it finds its way to the back of your mouth..its immensely pleasurable and the finish i might say its slightly fruity and sourish..just sends you into raptures of pleasure...i have never tasted espresso like this...absolutely brillant.
Would Go Back For More. At $3 for an Americano, I found their prices to be a little steep.
That said, the service is fast and friendly, the atmosphere great, and the coffee delicious, so I would definitely go back again. I'd just maybe go for a drip coffee instead.
Great cappuccino. I love their cappuccino. it's my go to place when in gastown. the atmosphere is great with friendly and knowledgable staff...
Seriouse 3rd wave espresso with relaxed super friendly atmosphear. Awesome!
Yum!. Unique coffee, great espresso drinks, and we like the staff: they are friendly and didn't come across pretentious.
Cool beans. This place is fancy pants for people who like small (medium, maybe) details. I love the brick wall, the long lamp stretching out from the ceiling, and the coffee station drawer. The espresso machine looks like it's from the Jetsons or something.
On to coffee! They offer two kinds of espresso beans you can choose from for your drink (I think 49th does this too) which is pretty nifty. I loved my macchiato and how they served their drinks in glass. The milk was the perfect temperature and so fluffy like marshmallows.
Service is friendly and I will definitely be back to buy one of those coffee guide books.
I have never really been one for trends, but after hearing a lot about the ‘pour over’ technique that is currently being offered in a variety of coffee shops around Vancouver, I leapt at the chance of having a more flavourful cup of joe. Together with my Flavour Hunter sidekick, we went to Revolver cafe.
Revolver stands above the rest because it adheres to different techniques and principles - such as allowing for a bloom and constant agitation, that most coffee shops just don't have time for. Many coffee shops, in fact that still do these methods no longer have the time to do pour overs. They just require too much time and barista attention.
Great coffee and great staff but very limited seating. Every time I give this place a visit (with the exception of one time), I can only afford to grab a coffee to go. The coffee is crazy good too, it's musty and strong; no milk needed. If you can snag a seat here, it's definitely a great place to stay and smell the beans. Great decor and good choice of music. Since seating is so limited, the noise levels aren't too crazy so you can probably concentrate on your textbooks without too much trouble (I hope).
...Slow coffee is their specialty. If you're in the mood, you can opt for the filtered or siphoned variety. If you're feeling Aussie? They apparently also serve flat whites and long blacks!
If you like coffee or interested in coffee, Revolver is the best cafe in Vancouver and there is no excuse to miss it.
I really like their idea of Brew Flight and Tasting Flight.
A nice place to learn more about coffee:)
It is a very cozy and inviting environment which, if you are lucky enough to snag one of the prized booths, is a ery pleasant place to sit and meet with a friend or read for an hour (I could not get WiFi, don't think they have it). Service is very friendly- no "snootiness" here!
I was given a magazine in a tea shop one day and as I was reading, it had a great article about Revolver-a super evolved coffee bar that specializes in the art of drip coffee. And given the naissance of individual coffee brewing that has finally reached our shores in the U.S., we couldn't ignore the opportunity to enjoy what Canada has to offer us! To begin, We were in love with this shop! Located on the corner of brick building in Gastown, this store had an awesome feel and ambience that exuded the rich aroma of ground coffee, with images of sipping a cup on a cloudy day starring outside through the large panes of glass watching people walk by, contemplating their next moves... Click below to read more... Now, we're talking, serious coffee for the serious
Revolver is a coffee shop located on Cambie Street in Gastown. Revolver isn’t your Starbucks type cafe. Their menu is simple and they focus on good quality coffee from world class roasters. I regret that it took me so long to try this place because one of my favourite indulgences in life is a well crafted coffee drink. I finally got around to trying it and I fell in love with this place. This post is a compilation of many visits I’ve made. The shop inside is relatively small. There are a few tables and some bar stools. This isn’t the kind of place you bring your laptop and sit in for hours, it is more of a social coffee shop. I also have to say that for being a cool hipster shop, they have nice and friendly customer service. The cappuccinos here are served in a small cup and are a few ounces smaller than the lattes. Other mainstream coffee shops like Starbucks serve a cappuccino that resembles more of the “dry style” of cappuccino, where there is more foamy, bubbly milk. At Revolver, t
Sexy coffee house focusing on a seasonal coffee menu from roasters around the world. The menu is simple, minimalistic with about ten items only focusing on coffee. The idea is not to distract you with fancy pastries to conceal the brew...
I walked into the Revolver and asked for a Caramel Machiato. The barista gave me a smile and said "we do not have any syrups, we only have different types of coffee beans". I knew I was in the right place to search for a master cup of coffee despite my embarrassment.

The foam was creamy and dense, the espresso was slightly sweet and nowhere near bitter like many chain places. It had enough espresso to warrant a genuine buzz but not enough to overpower the creamy foam.
Revolver Coffee is definitely more than a place to go for your morning hit of java. In fact, if you’re in a rush, I wouldn’t really recommend it. Some people have called it part of a “slow coffee” movement, which I find an apt description. It’s a more respectful approach to coffee that views the drink as more than a vehicle for delivering caffeine to the brain. I think it’s high time that coffee received the same treatment as beer, wine, and cocktails have as of late — that is, a step back from looking at the sensory experience as merely ancillary to the active ingredient that you’re drinking. So if you’re interested in drinking coffee instead of just ingesting it, I definitely recommend making the trip to Revolver or one of its “slow-coffee” brothers and sisters, and doing so.
the c spot :Gastown: Revolver has the look and feel of NYC. The designers who did Revolver, also did Meat & Bread. And I love the vibe of both - no colours - just white and natural materials - exposed brick, steel, wood, etc. It's very, very urban chill. Service is with a smile and a love of coffee. I mean really, you can't get better than that. They serve high quality beans, which carries over to the price. It's steep, but for those days you want to treat yourself - their's will hit the spot. Proof that coffee is a science. The cappuccino I had was delicious. It was balanced, rich but not sharp and came with a cute heart. I'm a sucker for barista art: 49 times better than 49th .
The whole concept of Revolver really intrigues me. I like the focused, yet ever-changing menu. While the Cold Brew could be viewed as a cool, gimmicky concept, they successfully deliver a cup of (it’s 250ml per bottle) good quality iced coffee. Brewing the perfect cup of coffee is not just an art, it’s a science.
Revolver takes it’s coffee very seriously, which is interesting for people like me who are new to anything other than espresso drinks. The counter at Revolver looks like a science lab with all of the different types of coffee paraphernalia that they use!
A very popular cafe at the edge of Gastown.
The cafe is in a renovated old building (1890s, perhaps?) and the whole place is quite narrow with some stairs at the entrance. I went with a stroller and had to leave it outside while I got my coffee (a friend watched over it). They may have a wheelchair/stroller accessible entrance but when I went Saturday morning around 11am, the line-up was too long for me to ask the workers. To be honest, even if you could get in, the space is very tight to move.
Coffee is amazing, they have a feature coffee and a list of pour overs and espresso. They serve and sell coffees from all around the world, I saw some from Peru to South Korea. They have a pastry section too, yummy cookies.
The coffee was really good! Definitely somewhere I would go the next time I’m in Vancouver. I got the cappuccino and it was great! A cute little pastry too, it was a little hard but overall good. The aesthetic of the place is a nice rustic look. There are a couple tables inside. The place is quite small but very comfy and warm. Would definitely come again and recommend!
Coffee shop at the edge of Gastown. It was a busy morning, but the line was moving well. My latte was good, but I prefer a stronger tasting coffee.
The scone was excellent and was very buttery. Easily could have eaten many of these.
Seating is limited in the main section, but right next door there is a quieter space away from the hustle and bustle of the bar.
Neat coffee shop. Great selection of coffee, espresso, pour overs, etc. It looks small but there’s another area next door which also belongs to the shop where many people sit and study/read. Known for their coffee, Revolver did not disappoint!! Had the croissant and it was perfectly crunchy and flaky on the outside and buttery soft inside! Yum!
This place is definitely one of the best coffee shops in the city! Friendly staff and great coffee. I had a really nice smooth cappuccino but would love to come back for the coffee flight (see menu image).
The space is also much bigger than I thought! Once in the main store you can go around the corner to the right to a second large space. (See images attached)
Only thing I would change: I wish they were open on Sunday’s
Cappuccino was perfect. First time Ive ever tried a coffee/espresso flight! Small and cute place with a few tables to enjoy coffee with a selection of coffee and other merchandise for purchase. Staff had good customer service and friendly
Grabbed a coffee and donut here today, and it was good. The coffee is some of the best in the City. The baked goods are okay, but I prefer them at Nemesis and PureBread. The service wasn’t great, but the friendliest staff.
Was in Vancouver for over a week and a few of my friends recommended Revolver for coffee. I thought ordering coffee in the back alleyway was the coolest thing ever and also, super COVID safe given guests were standing outside in fresh air versus being crowded inside the store.
The coffee tasted amazing, so smooth and really gave a kick of caffeine to start my trip in Vancouver. One of the best coffee shops in downtown.
