Best authentic sushi on Robson
The staff were so polite and friendly, honestly explaining that they were very busy and food might be delayed by about twenty minutes. This didn’t bother us so we were seated immediately. Our food actually came a lot quicker than expected. The sushi was so fresh it just melted in your mouth and the rice was perfect. The assorted tempura dish was equally delightful with the batter being light and crisp and the prawns were sensational.
The fish were fresh and the service was great. The restaurant makes you feel like you've time traveled to a different world. The sushi is more like the authentic classic style rather than the over-the-top style that has gained rapid popularity in recent years. Sashimi is on the pricier side (Sockeye Sashimi $24 for 8pcs). The Saba shioyaki (grilled mackerel) was amazing though.
Decent quality with reasonable price! Been here several times - originally introduced by some friends who enjoy coming back to this place.
Their bento boxes offer generous portions and, more importantly, great quality.
10/10! Rolls were crafted expertly and not drenched in sauce, sashimi was fresh and buttery soft and the soft shell crab was amazing! I will definitely be going back!
I have walked past this restaurant hundreds of times and I’ve never bothered to even give it a second glance because I just assumed that it was a Chinese run/hole-in-the-wall Japanese restaurant. Granted, I love me some inauthentic Japanese food (I low key love Sushi Garden/California) but nothing ever really drew me in to Miko Sushi. But this is a case of ‘never judge a book by its cover’, because this place was amazing!
Miko Sushi is a small, but pleasant authentic Japanese restaurant on Robson. This is a really nice place to dine in but also a great place to do take out dinner orders. Sushi is really good as the place is Japanese-owned and all their other items are also superb. A little bit more on the expensive side but for the quality, you definitely get what you pay for!

This place is amazing! I've been there maybe 5 times over a span of 8 months and the last time I was there the waitress remembered me and what I always order! It was totally unexpected and so nice that they actually put in the effort to get to know their customers and what they like to eat! On top of this, it is very authentic Japanese food - always amazing and always great service. Highly recommend!
I must admit, this isn't among the best sushi I've ever had but the service made quite the difference. The servers are very friendly and do their best to ensure you have a comfortable meal and an amazing experience. Like many restaurants along Robson street, Miko is quite small with limited seating. Many tables are reserved once the restaurant opens and wait times can stretch up to 2 hours. They have quite a large menu so it will take some time to go through it before deciding what you'd like to eat. I found that the sushi here was nothing too special which was a bit disappointing considering the stellar service. A warning to those who aren't huge fans of wasabi would be to watch out for the nigiri, as they tend to put quite a lot of wasabi between the fish and the rice. Over all, I'd say I average sushi but amazing service.
Ask for Karen, she is the best! She has been serving me great sushi for basically my whole life. Food is great, a lot of celebrities go here too - check out the 007 pictures!
Delicious! Don't be fooled by the average decor outside and inside, they have amazing authentic food. Order the spicy chopped scallop nigiri and the gomae.
Great experience. All Japanese speaking staff and very professional. We ate ika, agedashi tofu and eggplant to start. All excellent. The sushi took a while which is always a good thing - perfect salmon maguro amaebi, uni, masago with izura, California roll, Saba, hamachi. We orders toro, unagi too and this didn't disappoint. I'll definitely go here again!
Oh, wow... Really fantastic sushi with top shelf ingredients. Kimpira appetizer was lovely; all the sushi was amazing, but particularly spicy tuna roll, BC roll, dynamite roll, and the Miko Combination plates. Arrive a little early in the evening; the place is not huge and the food is made by hand with great care.
Quality. Well I have finally made it in here for some good quality sushi. I was a bit surprised by the lengthy Robata choices available, but I can resist and stick strictly to the good stuff I came for, fresh seafood. First thing Im noticing is, whoa its expensive here, I see the Tuna and Sockeye Sashimi... Whoa whoa whoa $18 and $20 per 8 pieces? Ok we are close to double the price of these particular sashimi dishes anywhere else, but I have a more economical way to experience the seafood.
The Dynamite roll was amazing, i really liked the sauce and Tobiko stuff alongside the shrimp. I had around 4 pieces of the Tuna Nigiri which was fantastic, the Sockeye Salmon Nigiri was equally as good. The Tuna Tataki was nice, but I still prefer my Sashimi! The Appetizer Tempura was good as I ate the Shrimp and my partner ate the veggies lol. All in all, amazing dinner, I can see why it is so popular.

Absolutely phenomenal authentic Japanese food. Top 3 I've had in Canada and I have very high standards having lived in Japan for several years. A new favorite!
A Little Hidden Jewel. Their menu item numbers are not that many as other extravaganza but Miko Sushi offers all the traditional Japanese-sushi-restaurant-entries. So, although you're not going to see any fusion mumbo jumbo that most izakayas in town nowadays present proudly here, there are many choices between hot food and sushi that you never get bored. Rather Miko Sushi is really about the authenticity, which is actually very rare to find in Vancouver. My favourite is Spicy Scallop Cone. It is like a little hidden jewel! The Mackarel sushi is unique and delicious. The service is very attentive. The staff has always been on top of what they do and each person is fun in their own way.
I highly recommend this place to everyone.
I wasn't keen on the spicy tuna sashimi tartar, as it contained fish eggs! But the nigiri was superbly crafted, fresh and delicious! Brown rice would be nice. Service is friendly and attentive. recommended!

I love this place! Celebrities like Zhiang Ziyi and Danny Glover have been spotted here. As well as hockey players and many a business person! The owners are very hospitable. The food is authentic Japanese cuisine. They have a variety of items for vegetarians as well!
I don't eat here as often as I'd like to, but that's only because I'm on the opposite end of downtown. Oh yeah...try their Burdock Root!
My favorite sushi. The beef sashimi with home made ponzu is really good, so is the BBQ eggplant & maguro ae (tuna marinated with special dressing- a little spicy, very tasty!). Rolls are bite-size with good rice.
Some of the best sushi I have eaten. Not that I am a Sushi expert or anything near that, but this sushi was some of the best I have ever eaten. I tried an appetizer, and a few rolls, and all of it had more flavor than most of the sushi I am used to. I would definitely recommend trying this if you are in the area.

Best traditional japanese sushi in vancouver!. We frequently visit Miko because we originally fell upon this place when I lived around the corner from their location. Now me and my husband go here almost once a week. The sushi is always fresh and consistently excellent. I usually order the following:
Mackarel (saba) sushi
Ikura sushi
Spicy scallop cone (sooo good)
Amaebi sushi
The best dish on their menu handsdown though is the Maguro-ae. It is a bowl of the freshest tuna that is sitting atop some daikons and lettuce with their house-special sauce which is like a sweet-soy sauce with a hint of wasabi in it. If you are a fan of fresh tuna, TRY IT.. you will not be disappointed :)
Also, interesting thing is that all the NHL hockey players frequent this place, there are piles upon piles of signatures on their wall. It speaks of the quality of food.
Service can sometimes be slow but overall it is a wonderful place to visit. Very charming old-school japanese with the best quality sushi you'll find in vancouver without the outrageous prices of Tojo's or Blue Water Cafe.
Wow! Beat sushi I have ever had. If you are a sushi expert, you will be delighted with the quality. If you are a novice, they will explain it to you with understanding. Karen, who waits tables, said she and her husband, who is the sushi chef, have owned it for 19 years and have never been as busy as now. She did not understand. I showed her urbanspoon and they were amazed and humbled by the great rating. Refreshing because sometimes I worry that owners fake reviews on here. It is a great little family-run place!

Miko Sushi is the real deal when it comes to Japanese. The rolls are not ginormously American - but the size they're meant to be for a normal human being.
Staff is always very polite, welcoming, and hospitable.
Atmoshere is quaint and sophisticated but not pretentious.
The price point is definitely worth it and nothing to complain about.

Miko is my fav. Try the Chowanmushi (wrong spelling) everything is great and specially the Negitoro Cones...wow, the only down side is they use 2L pop bottles and its flat, but I guess not everyone can afford a fully functioning bar.
Casual Top--Notch Sushi. When you're looking for a spot and not sure which of the multitude of sushi joints on/around Robson to go to - look no further than Maki Sushi! Really fresh, really good sushi - order up whatever you want, you'll be pleased!
Perfect. The food is very good and it is not expensive. If you have a place on the bar, you will see the Sushi Master working very accurately. Service is very good as well.
The restaurant is a little bit small so you may have to wait before to be seated.

Like it. I can't remember what I ordered here, but I remember liking it. This place is always super busy, we didn't even get table seats the last time, we had to sit by the bartending seats.
Still a favorite. The maguro and sake nigiri sushi are great. Not flashy, but if you're serious on fish, this is the place to go.
Miko is not to be confused with Miku. Both are great places for sushi, but very different vibes! Miko is on Robson near Jervis. It's an old school sushi joint and most importantly, Japanese run! It also happens to be my favourite sushi joint in the down town core. Admittedly, I am a hard core sushi snob, so this is high praise indeed.
Miko can get on the pricey side if you start ordering a la carte, but they do have a couple of lunch boxes that are delicious. I normally order the sushi box. I toss the california roll and substitute a spicy tuna roll (+$3) so it comes out to around $17 after tax.
I was enjoying an evening of exquisite Japanese food at a local restaurant in Vancouver. The customer service began at a 3.5 stars level but definitely finished at 5 stars by the end of the night.
We just ordered a traditional sushi box for each one of us ($11) with 4 pieces of nigiri sushi, salad, a couple of small sushi rolls (California and salmon), tempura and a couple of skewers. Overall, really filling (Rebecca couldn't even finish her own!) and very, very tasty sushi. The real deal. The wall filled with pictures of famous people who visited this place and the various awards proves it too. It’s the usual fare but done very nicely. I had the typical rolls, nigiri and noodles. Everything was fresh and well presented. Friendly, attentive service as well. I would definitely come back here. Delicious traditional sushi, you have to make a reservation to improve your experience. The food was great the fish 🐟 it was fresh and tasty. The service was also good, The waitresses wore traditional Japanese clothes and they were very friendly.
So far one of the best service I had since I moved to Canada! The waitresses gave me awesome suggestions on what food to take. I never felt more welcome than when I ate at Miko Sushi. I highly recommend!

Favorite spot in town and a true hidden gem. Great selection of food and pricing. Amazing service, they remember us and always try their best to offer the best experience to customer. Love the authentic decorations in store as well. Would totally recommend to look at the wall in the store for some extra food selection outside of the menu. Love the grilled beef tongue, toro nigiri, and 定食. Only thing is that they recently rise their price 😭 but the food is still way too delicious to resist.
Wonderful sushiya with mostly regulars as guests. Excellent deluxe sashimi combo and deluxe sushi combo with great cuts of fish. Great sushi rice, miso soup, and tamago nigiri. Service was impeccable. Unlimited refills of good genmaicha tea.
