I had a 3 course dine out menue There i was surprised how good this guys actually Cook. The clams and mussels are great combo with the fennel sausage and the pork cheeks are super tender you can do a Lot wrong with that cheeks but they came out realy good. I had a couple of times Pasta There as well, what was always Standard Italien. Over all great experience to eat There i come back and tr something More.

My husband and I often have date nights here and the food & service are always excellent. This past weekend my little guy participated in the tiramisu eating challenge here during the Khatsalano Street Party, and the level of care and attention by the staff was second to none. Awesome pasta. Kids just love the truffle pasta. They each wanted their own plate! Calamari is amazing too. And alcoholic drinks are well priced and tasty mix.

Hello! I’m back at Trattoria again but this time at a different location. Trattoria has a pasta special every Tuesday where all the pastas on the menu are $13! That’s practically 50% off all their pastas!. Linguine Gamberi. ⭐⭐⭐⭐. Rating: 4 out of 5. I’ve tried quite a few of their pastas before on my past visits but I had yet to try the Linguine Gamberi. This dish came with linguine pasta, tiger prawns, capers, olives, chilies, roasted tomatoes and aglio e olio which is a olive oil and garlic mixture.
They are serving very simple but tasty italian pasta. They are providing special discount on every Tuesday but on remaining days its bit expensive.

This is an Italian restaurant that belongs to the Glowbal franchise and has a couple of locations in Metro Vancouver; I had the opportunity to visit their Kits location. They have a special on Tuesday where al of their pastas are for just $13. I had their Truffled Spaghetti & Signature Meatballs and Crab & Lobster Ravioli. Apparently, when they bring you parmesan for your dish, the staff will shave until you tell them to stop. I didn't realise this (in all the other restaurants I've been to the staff shave the amount they think are acceptable and go) and my waiter ended up shaving a small pile of parmesan on my spaghetti before I finally figured it out and told him to stop (apologies to my server). The pastas were very good; I did find the portion to be a tad small for the regular price, but they're a great deal on Tuesdays. The service was very good: the food comes out quite quickly, and the waiter I had was just great (and didn't seem to get annoyed with me for making him shave so much parm). Definitely check this place out (and if you're cheap like me, go on Tuesdays).
Truffled Spaghetti & Signature Meatballs ($24.95, $13 on Tuesdays):

This came with three good-sized meatballs and a dollop of truffle cream. The spaghetti itself was perfectly cooked to my personal liking, being tender while still retaining a good chew. The cream provided great richness and had a wonderful fragrance. The meatballs appear to be made from beef, and were quite tender and juicy; unfortunately, I did find them to be a tad underseasoned and bland.
Crab & Lobster Ravioli ($24.95, $13 on Tuesdays):

This came in a creamy tomato sauce. Again, the ravioli was cooked to my liking and contained a generous amount of filling, which was flavourful and very savoury (I'm not even a big seafood fan, and I still really enjoyed it). The sauce was also very flavourful and rich. The portion was a bit on the smaller side (the dish came with half a dozen in total); personally, I wouldn't have paid for the full price.

We wanted to have some pasta, so we decided to try this place. The ambience is nice but quite dark in the evening. I tried the Linguine Carbonara. Taste wise, it was quite good even though it was simple. The portion was a little small considering the price. Turns out, all pastas are at a lower flat price on Tuesdays.
Once again I had an amazing time at trattoria for my friend's birthday. Chef Laura's food was amazing from appetizers to the entree's and the dessert. Words can't even describe how great my experience was. Even our Server/bartender Brian was super attentive, polite and friendly. The General Manager Amir stopped to welcome us and ensure we were enjoying ourselves. Thank you trattoria kits for your amazing staff and food. I will continue to come back and bring more of my friends and family to experience the food and atmosphere you provide. Well Done!!!! If you love Italian food you will love this spot.
Went out for a birthday dinner last Saturday night with my to gal pals and it was overall a yummy and fun experience. I'll definitely be going back for their spaghetti when they have their $13 Pasta Tuesday special :D
Food: I had the classic spaghetti and meatballs and it was DELICIOUS! I had a bit left for lunch the next day, so portion size was pretty generous. I also sampled my friend's Gnocchi and Squash Pizza. Gnocchi was pleasant but smaller portion than my dish. Squash pizza was very tasty!
Service: Good, they let us stay there and chat for 3 HOURS without ever pushing the bill on us!
Ambiance: (Warning) Very busy, loud, and bustling. The waiters and food runners are speed walking everywhere, the restaurant feels a bit squishy because all the seats were taken up, and I think the owner started shouting at the workers :( To the manager, you may want to tone it down as I can see a lot of customers feeling uncomfortable witnessing you yelling at your workers...
Anyways, I was wanting to go to a nicer place but didn’t feel like heading downtown. Trattoria was a good option since it is owned by Glowbal Group and is large enough for groups.
Food was okay, just standard Italian cuisine, nothing special. The service was relatively bad. I do understand it’s a busy restaurant during dinner hours but come on, waiters managed to take adders from table around us but our table. Very interesting.
Bottom line: I think I've been here before or perhaps I've only been to the Burnaby location. But we came here for Tratt Tuesday which is $13 for all plates of pasta. The portions are always a bit on the small size but maybe it's just right when you have a beer. Taste of the pasta was really good, no complaints from me beside the portion size. The food came really quick as well, almost as quick as pho.
Such yummy food! Came here for the pizza, which was so crispy and cheesy! Awesome in the summer with the windows and doors wide open, with a view of the busy kitsalano street!
Simple Italian food. They have a small menu of classic pasta dishes. The pasta is fresh and delicious. The ambience is nice and a little fancy. The price is good, esp. on Tuesdays when they have a deal on pasta.
I give 3.5 stars reluctantly because despite having quite good food my service was only so so and they ran out of burratta which was a main reason why I had chosen to eat there. I will go back again because the food was good but hope that they have better stock of my desired dishes
Every summer the Kitsilano neighbourhood throws a street party. A day long event that has the streets shut down and vendors setting up booths curb side. Here, sponsors and local businesses invite the entire city down to celebrate their community with them. And here the word “party” is an accurate description. With balloons and banners, live music and flowing beer, the energy is electric with fun. I can’t believe this was just my first time experiencing such festivities. And given the time we allotted, there wasn’t enough to explore the full extent of the event from front to back.
For our company’s Christmas dinner, we decided to dine at Trattoria. Hearing that many other companies were also hosting their dinners there, we were excited for our dinner experience. We made reservations and arrived around 5:30pm. The table was set very nicely with menus, glasses and cutlery wrapped in red-checkered napkins.
Love cheap pasta on Tuesdays.
- Garganelli: Can't say I love it alot. I thought it was very salty because of the sun-dried tomatoes.
- Gnocchi is just dough, not tasty.
- Truffled Spaghetti & Wagyu Meatballs have huge meatballs. Liked it.
- Linguine Carbonara is rich and very tasty.
Today is Tuesday so I thought I can share my favourite Tuesday eats! Pasta at Trattoria is only $12! The restaurant atmosphere is lively, the food is amazing! Great date night following cheap Tuesday movies! WHY NOT right?!. I had the Truffle Meatball Spaghetti (it's not on the menu anymore but they'll still make it) and the Short Rib Pappardelle! We also ordered the brussel sprouts & Fritto Conchiglioni. I was stuffed by the end of the meal.MY ADVICE: Get here early or you're looking at 30 mins 1-hour wait. My friend S and I wanted to go to college night. Before she leaves for work/ school starts for me and I have to get lame and nerdy (not really). Little did we know, wednesday at Trattoria is half priced bottles of wine. So the place was SUPER BUSY!!
Admittedly, the main reason we visited this restaurant was because every pasta dish is $12 on Tuesday nights. Trattoria is a casual Italian restaurant situated in the Kitsilano neighbourhood. The seats are comfortable, the ambiance is vibrant, and the service staff is professional and friendly. How about the food?
Overall, the food was good, service was great, wine night excellent. I will surely be back, most, every other Wednesday for this deal as long as they have it.
Last week I got a call from my mom: “Food Wench, can you recommend a restaurant in Vancouver for your Dad’s birthday? The whole family will be coming!” Oh man. Here we go again. I needed to find a restaurant that serves white food (Banana Leaf is apparently too exotic), isn’t too loud or dark (parents hate that), and where baby Batman could tag along (so not too quiet either in case he starts fussing). Not an easy task. Thankfully my mom suggested Trattoria Italian Kitchen. Great idea! Although my parent’s did start complaining about the dim lighting by the end of the night…

After 2 or 3 reschedules, I finally got together with my best friends, Amy and Melody. They wanted to try Trattoria Italian Kitchen. I have ordered Trattoria Italian Kitchen takeout previously but it was my first time dining in.
I ate hare for a business lunch and everyone enjoyed their meal. Service was prompt and pleasant. I had the gnocchi. Great flavor, good serving size. Two others in our group had the spaghetti and meatballs. Both of them raved about the meatballs!
Want to know how amazing the food is here? I never eat pasta and I've eaten here 3 times in the last 6 days!!! Anything with mushrooms and seafood for me. That lasagna!!! Half price wine Wednesday's? Yes, please!!! Grab your friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, and GO! You'll love this place.
I'm not sure why, but I always have a prejudice towards chain restaurants and usually avoid them like the plague. This chain is different though. The cooks, prepare like they are chefs and the servers serve like they are owners. I've been to this location twice and the Alberni location once and all three times the food was delicious, hot and we'll presented. Also, another huge thing to note is there prices are extremely reasonable. I had the seafood salad last time I went and I have never seen so much seafood in a salad before. To boot the salad was only $21.95! I'll keep coming here. Great lunch spot as service is quick as well.
Very flexible and great service. We were in a rush to catch a movie down the street. I asked if they had a vegan pasta, and the chef put together an amazing dish of pasta and vegetables. There are a lot of restaurants that will just make you a boring dish of noodles and sauce. They really put in an extra effort to accommodate. The service we received from the hostess and the waiter was also really friendly. You could tell they really enjoyed their job.
Great for any kind of gatherings!. I came here a few months ago for my friend's birthday dinner. It was a sunday night and although they do not accept reservations after 5pm, it was pretty empty during time. The menu choices were great which pretty appealing ingredients listed in their menu. Our server was superb but I am assuming that since there weren't as many customers, we received extra attention in our services. We were able to test a pretty generous amount (considering it's a taster) of wine and enjoyed the wines that were suggested to us. the food was amazing (but extremely filling), drinks were quite on point, and i'd say the overall experience was just great. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent deal for pasta.. I heard great things about the burrata and proscuitto, so we started off with that. For a bunch of students, the $18 for the 3-person portion was a little steep, but considering that proscuitto is not inexpensive, it makes sense. (Burrata is a heavenly half-cream half-mozza Italian concoction).
It was my second time ever having gnocchi - the first and most memorable was at Fable - and I had it with tomato cream sauce and Italian sausages. It was cooked deliciously, being a little chewy and sticky but very melt-in-your-mouth. There was a piece of sausage for every piece of gnocchi, but that meant the dish was very salty to taste. I would definitely get this with no added salt if possible.
Service was impeccable: very accommodating with our strange split bills for 8, and always there to check on things but never hovering.
Would come back for their $11 pastas on Tuesdays!
A Family Sunday Brunch. The brunch was brilliant, both the staff and the food. The only negative comment I have is the fact that they only serve white bread products, and do not offer soy milk. Unfortunately, this limits the menu choices for someone who must follow a medically restricted diet.
Fabulous food, great energy. We were here for our second visit and the meal was everything we remembered start with the burrata and proscuto then share the pasta sampler. Dessert must be doughnuts! They have a great wine selection overseen by a very knowledgeable and helpful somelier. A great place to eat great italian food within an atmosphrre of great energy.
It hit the spot!. Came here on the last of Dineout..but apparently they are extending their dineout for another week!
I was pleasantly surprised, the service was excellent they came over many times filling our cups with water and asking how our food tasted, they did not rush us to be in and out of the restaurant as one would assume for a busy restaurant that wasn't taking any reservations.
We all had the $18 dineout menu which in itself is a bang for your buck!
I chose to have the albacore tuna salad, which I thought could have used a bit more tuna as I was only able to find some chunks of the tuna on the bottom of my salad. I had the marsala chicken for the entree paired with the salad which I thought was amazing - the mushroom sugo sauce was to die for! the chicken was cooked just right, not dry and rubbery but full of flavour. The extra size tiramisu with the choco and pistachio biscotti was such a tasty additive! everything was yummy and i was so impressed with the service :)
Dinner for 6 was a good experience. A warm welcome from the manager on entry set the tone. He promptly changed our table on request when the draft from the entrance was a problem. The Barolo on the menu was nice and the Antipasto Rustico very tasty. Our table ordered a good variety of main dishes all of which were appealing. Service was attentive and effecient in spite of the busy crowd. The noise level was high but considering this is an Italian theme that could be considered part of the ambience. The desserts were also good with a diverstiy of options. Overall a good experience without the pretentious atmosphere of other Glowbal franchises.
Now thats pizza?!. Me and a friend had a very nice meal on the sidewalk patio recently here.
All and all a good experience.
The Arugula and beet salad could have used some more flavour.
But the pizza, now thats on a different level.
Eat the pizza here and you'll wonder how any of us put up with 90% of pizza available elsewhere.

I've dined here a handful of times over the years. The service on our last visit, Sept 1 - long weekend Sunday - was off from what we were used to. Long waits for drink orders, no eye contact from anyone and it took me getting up from my table and approaching the host stand to get our orders taken. After that though, manager/supervisor took care of it, made it right for us and our party and the service was on track. A frustrating experience, but the food will bring us back.

4th Avenue hotspot worth a visit on off nights. Had a number of meals here the past year - a few dinners and brunches.
I like that they keep their small sidewalk patio open year round - I've had a good meal outside here when it has been freezing! Between the heat lamps, blankets and keeping your jacket on it's no prob.
Tuesday pasta night specials are a definite favourite, as you can get a good, filling meal for fairly cheap.
Service is usually respectable here. Not much parking, but then why drive to dinner anyway? Leave the car at home and have 2-3 drinks.
This is a bustling place, and I recommend it.
Hope to be back at Trattoria soon.

No quite what you expect from Glowbal for a night, but will be back.. Didn't aware that they have a pasta event every Tuesday until we were there. Yeah~ No wonder they are still pack at 9:30pm. Trattoria is one of my favorite places to cure my pasta crave. Although they had gone through a few chefs, I thought they keep their quality of food just fine. No so much on this Tuesday. Occhi Di Lupo are SO HARD and far off from al dente! My hubby laughed at my decision. Yes, since when I shall except the enlarged penne dish to be made out of fresh pasta?? And thus, al dente equals under cook, way under. (And this is not the first time it happened to me.) On the other hand, his spaghetti & meatballs are done perfectly. Brussels sprouts turns out better then the last time we have in Black and Blue. So, it's great.
Service? Our severs seems running around without her head on, so of coz she won't find out I disliked my pasta until she came to swipe our credit card. Really, not what you will expect from a Glowbal restaurant, but location is right, the menu is good, and it's a $11 pasta dish day. Next time I'll have pizza instead.
Great Service, Decent Food, Noisy Atmosphere. Went here for an anniversary dinner. Was hoping for a more intimate atmosphere - we had to practically shout over the din of the background noise. Hostess was extremely accommodating as we waited for our table. Waitress was proactive and bubbly. Floor manager checked up on us a few times, relighting our candle and grating parmesean for our pasta. We delayed ordering our mains to prolong our meal, and once we did order the food arrived with astonishing speed. I enjoyed my Occhi Di Lupo, he was so-so about his Penne Arrabiata. I'd consider returning with friends, coworkers, or family, but I probably wouldn't go back for an intimate date.

Okay, but stick to the Pasta Dishes. Visited here a couple of weeks ago on a Monday Night. We arrived quite late (8:30 or so) and the place was still hopping; but no wait. The first thing we notices was the noise! This place is very noisy when crowded and conversation for the 4 of us was difficult. Within an hour or so,the place cleared out a bit and the noise levels abated.
Our server was quite good and did a good job of trying to up-sell us on some of the dishes and the wine.
We started the meal with the fried brussel sprouts - AWESOME! The Bruschetta was excellent as well. For the main course I had the Fusilli Funghi and my partner decided on a caesar salad with chicken. The Fusilli was excellent, and the Caesar -- BIG MISTAKE! Undercooked, cold chicken and limp Romaine! Yuchhh! The couple we were with had the Gorgonzola Pizza and the Spaghetti with Wagyu meatballs. The Pizza was excellent, the Spaghetti was good, but my Fusilli was much tastier. We had Limoncella cheesecake and Tiramisu for dessert. Both were a 7/10 on my Dessert Scale. Total bill including 1 bottle of cheaper red wine (we resisted the up-sell to the $70 bottle) before tip was ~$160.
We'll definitely go back for the pasta and of course, the fried brussel sprouts (Normally, I don't even like brussel sprouts!)

come in for the drinks and burrata appetizers- or for the delicious and substantial salads. I don't usually go out for pasta, but the arrabiata was pretty good.
Love the brunch here!. I had the tagine for brunch and it was very good, with lots of veggies and well presented. My husband had the breakfast pizza with burrata cheese and bacon and that was very, very good. Well recommended for brunch. We've had lunch here too and the gnocchi and beef carpaccio is amazingly good!
I phoned the restaurant to ask if tables were avalible , found out there were . Asked if I could reserve , "no" . Went down about 10 mins later .told the wait would be 5 mins , then told that I could not be seated until my entire party of 4 was present ! Two out the four of us were there , there were plenty of tables . This policy seemed , stupid . I wanted to start ordering . I came very close to walking out . The part that angers me Is ,on the one hand they are trying to be a high end Restaurant ( their prices reflect this ) yet they have this tacky seating policy . The waitress knew we were pissed off & tried to make up for it . The rest of the dinner service was very good. The food was lovely over all . Too bad the beginning of the evening was over shadowed by someones pathetic idea of customer management
Just finished a lunch with my brother and was very impressed with both service and food. I'm a real soup fan and my Minestrone was excellent! My brother, who can be a somewhat fussy eater declared that his Gorgonzola Pizza was the best he'd ever eaten! Our server, Julie, was both friendly and very efficient. Thought the red tiled walls in the bathroom were very cool. All in all a five star experience . . .
Pleasant and worth it. Our waitress was very patient and pleasant as we were asking her a gazillion questions about the menu and how each item would sit in our slightly "already-full" tummies. She steered us in the right direction every time. Very pleasant experience. I'll go back at the first opportunity. Just avoid Friday and Saturday 6-8pm rush if you hate waiting, because everybody figures it's worth the wait.

Pricey but worth it. Went for a girls night here earlier this week. The server seemed put out that we weren't ordering entrees, just small plates to share and desserts with our drinks, and after that she was a bit curt and much less attentive :( It was unfortunate because we still managed to spend a couple of hundred between the 4 of us and we're big tippers when the service is good. That said, the food was delicious, well-prepared and nicely plated. The chocolate-stuffed donuts were a hit, and the panna cotta was incredible. Next time I'll go earlier in the evening and have dinner. Oh, a tip: not to worry if you're sitting outside, there are blankets available- a nice touch.
Had a delightful meal last night on the patio - lovely staff who gave us great recommendations. Recommend the spaghetti carbonara and the chicken Parmesan; the appetizer of fried stuffed zucchini flowers was outstanding.
