Best donuts and best service! Lee’s is #1! Anyone who hasn’t been, get down there now!
Tim who? Krispy what? There is only one donut worth dunking into my coffee and it's from these cats!
Amazing donuts , taste great and perfect for satisfying your cravings. Don’t buy a birthday cake! But a few dozen donuts instead!
This place bring back memories of daddy & me days out for a donut. Best French crullers EVER!!
Lee’s Donuts is located inside Granville Island Market. They are known for their quality donuts, made from scratch each day. While in line, you can actually see them making the donuts.
Lee’s are famed for their honey dipped donuts, which we honestly weren’t very excited about. We weren’t looking for a matcha infused raspberry topped maple kale donut or anything, but honey just seemed so pedestrian.
Oh how terribly wrong we were.
The honey dipped donuts are amazing! The one thing that I rate a donut on is how fluffy it is inside and these are lighter and airier than any donut I’ve ever had. In contrast, the crust is lovingly crispy and when biting into it, there’s a slight crunch, with bits of hardened honey dropping off.
Both times I visited Granville Island, there was always a big line to get these donuts, which is understandable. Curious about trying donut holes, I got twelve - and you can mix and match since they have several flavours! These are a great snack for walking around the market.
Quite a busy place in the market located at Granville Island.
We attempted to try their famous honey-dipped doughnut on a busy Saturday afternoon. It was reasonably priced and the flavour was well balanced. Their doughnuts were freshly prepared and some flavours got sold out pretty quickly.
Lee's is a nostalgic old school donut kiosk in Granville Island Market that has been around for over 35 years (looking like nothing has changed from donut to decor!).
Large selection. The honey dip glazed and french crueller are my favourite. Yeast donuts are better than cake, imo. The fritters are huge. Very sweet and rich so perfect for sharing. Reasonable prices ranging from $2-$6. Above average for the common donut, but nothing spectacular.
Best when warm and fresh out of the oven in the morning (like any donut shop).
My boyfriend and I have to go here every time we go to Granville Island. I always choose the honey dip donut since I don't care for sprinkles and powdery donuts. They're delicious! My boyfriend likes the chocolate-y ones but he says his favourite is the sugar glazed one. 1 donut is good since they're quite rich in my opinion.
Fresh donuts really hit the spot! Although a bit on the sugary/sweet side, Lee's donuts are an excellent treat and at a great price. Try a simpler sugar coated or home cut if you something less indulgent, or share a Bavarian cream!
The special Canada Day donut had chocolate icing and red and white sprinkles. Tasty icing, crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Scrumptious! Priced at $2, it was very reasonable.
Nothing made a cold and wet day better than one of these donuts fresh out of the oven. The original was so soft and delicious. Didn't try the coffee.
Donuts are one of my most loved treats. I am always interested in trying new places or going back to my favourite spots. This post is about Lee’s Donuts on Granville Island. Lee’s has a large variety of donuts including honey dipped, fruit filled, cake donuts and fritters. I got a half dozen to indulge in. I started enjoying these treats with a warm drink at one of the cafes in Granville Island. It was a rainy Vancouver day so it was a perfect combination.
A childhood favorite. I've never need disappointed by the donuts there. Crisp on the outside and cakey on the inside. Don't leave unless you've tried the chocolate mint (go early! That flavor sells out!).
Tried Lee's donuts for the first time a few weeks ago because they were provided to us at school! Each donut was super fluffy and You can't go wrong with donuts with sprinkles on top! I wasn't a fan of their cookies but their donuts were on point!
Amazing donuts. Soft, fresh, and fluffy, and not too greasy either. Perfect delicious donuts. Very large variety of flavours. Feels like a hidden gem on Granville island.
I don't know where to dock marks on this one... it was the next best thing since Krispy Kreme but that's only when it's coming fresh out of the oven. Otherwise, Lee's Donuts is the best I've had. The donuts don't come out sizzling hot and it's been sitting there for 15 minutes to an hour, but they still taste wonderful. This is a must-eat place if you stop by Granville Island. The people working at the donut shop don't seem that enthused and the people buying the donuts don't see that enthused but I was enthused so, at least someone's doing their part ;)
Donuts were great and the crepe I ordered was just right. The staff were young, but kept the place very clean and were very kind, despite a long line of impatient customers.

Always fresh and great texture! A must have when I visit Granville Island.
Honey dipped. A great donut. The kids tried the sprinkle donut, and had no complaints either.
Simply the best. The way a donut should be.
Best. I worship the peanut and chocolate crunch flavour, though I fell in love with this place when I first tried the chocolate Bavarian. The price is reasonable and the taste is divine!
Best donuts ever! I'm from Ontario and I dream of these donuts between trips.
Jam doughnuts like they should be. I'm a big fan of jam doughnuts, but I'm also fussy. The "jelly donuts" (they're selling themselves short!) at Lee's have everything I look for: freshness, jam filling (not insipid, fruitless jelly), and coated in granulated sugar, not powdered icing sugar. Added bonus: the last one I had was warm. The glazed doughnuts here are sublime as well.
Best. Donuts. Ever.. Half of my visits result in eating a still-warm honey dip donut the moment after buying it - and it is perfectly sublime. The kind of food moment that we all yearn for. Simply perfect.
We recently stepped outside of the honey dip box and tried the chocolate donut. Best eaten on the couch in front of the tv at home. So wonderful...so yummy...so divine.
Best donuts ever........ The honey glazed donut was still hot.
I thought the price was a little expensive for a donut, but well worth it.
I had a lemon filled donut. The filling was really good, and the donut itself was very fluffy.
Hmmm...Donuts.... If there's one thing us Lee's know, it's Donuts. And jeans. And fried chicken. But definitely donuts.
We live in Aldergrove in Langley and make a special trip out to Granville Island just to hit up Lee's Donuts. The quality is superb that surpasses Timmy Ho's massed produced sugary disasters. Get there early and make sure to get your favorite
10 or 12 years ago there were almost no donut shops in Metro Vancouver, but there was Lee's. And the donuts are still great. They have a quality that lets you know they are not from a big chain shop. Yummy.
U'll be back. My sunday routine on wednesdays. coffee black. fresh flowers. peonys if they've got em. and a lee's honey glazed doughnut as i sit by the water, fight off the seagulls and remember why i will never move too far away.
Very good and very cheap perfect 4 a on-the-go snack.
Donut Heaven. Lee's is a great donut haven if you want a quick bite to go with your hot beverage. Just the right sweetness and texture.
Lee’s Donuts on Granville Island has been around for over 35 years. Such longevity can be attributed to their yummy donuts enjoyed by tourists and locals. $2 can get you fresh made donut, which seems like a great deal at a touristy place like Granville Island.
Unlike shops, such as Tim Hortons, they always make their donuts fresh, and in the old fashioned way! The varieties we got this time were Maple Iced, Jelly, Bavarian, Mango (Jelly variety), and Chocolate Bavarian.
The icing was sweet with minty flavour and the donut was thicker than your typical Tim Hortons donut. It was denser as well but still moist and not too sweet.
Last but not least, Mr. Piglet and I think this tasty morsel ties for a second place finish. The outside is perfectly fried and a bit crispy, the inside is nice and fluffy and the filling reminds Mr. Piglet of apple pie. It's little things in life that make us happy and this donut is one of those little things. I just wish there was more filling... a little bit more and this would be pure PERFECTION.
A trip to Granville Island isn’t complete for me unless I visit Lee’s Donuts. Lee’s Donuts is located inside the Granville Island Public Market off in a corner. This little gem is worth searching for because they have tons of different kinds of freshly made donuts and donut holes. I’m a bit stuck in a rut and I always end up getting the Mango Madness filled donut ($1.80). The donut is fresh tasting, light and so airy that it almost melts in your mouth. The mango custard filling inside is refreshingly cool, creamy, and not overly sweet. I love the burst of flavour and smooth texture it adds to the donut when you finally get to the middle. They coat this donut in sugar crystals, which makes it sweet and messy. Lee’s makes some of my favourite donuts around and these are nothing like the “donuts” they serve at Tim Hortons. This is my favourite stall at the Granville Island Public Market and it never disappoints. Recommendation: Yes, for delicious donuts. Tagged: feature
I vowed on one of my last visits to Lee’s Donuts that I would come back one day and try their giant apple fritter.
Never one to go back on my word, behold… the giant apple fritter
KoreanGirl raved about how her parents love Lee’s Donuts on Granville Island. Lee’s Donuts is located inside the Granville Island Public Market and has stayed a family business for a very very long time. The place is very busy during the weekends and donuts tend to sellout very fast! We came on a weekday night during closing time, so there were a few donuts left. Most of the flavours were sold out, but whats what happens when we come minutes before they close. There are donuts behind the counter and in the glas counter. Coconut Donut Chocolate Crunch German Chocolate The donuts are pretty good and many people stand by their amazing texture and taste. I personally don’t like donuts, so I relied on my sister to give me her opinion. It’s unlike Krispy Kreme and Tim Hortons since it is slightly denser and more cake-like. It wasn’t too sweet and goes well with a cup of tea or coffee. We Rate Lee’s Donuts: Address: 1689 Johnston St Vancouver, BC More food reviews on Foodology .
You have to have tremendous will power to visit Granville Island and leave without a box of Lee’s Donuts. A fixture at the Granville Island Public Market, Lee’s Donuts is a long-standing family business that makes incredible donuts in all varieties, from
I was in Vancouver just before the Winter Olympics. I was very fortunate to have gorgeous walking weather and almost an entire day was spent exploring Granville Island, a must-visit destination spot for visitors. I walked for hours, exploring its art stud
make sure you check out their Apple Fritters
Lee’s does fantastic donuts in general, including some unusual flavors like mango or marble chocolate. They also allow you to buy frozen donuts to stash in your freezer for a later date.
Just a fun place with happy colours!
It’s tough to make perfect donuts with HIGH HUMIDITY and Carol Kaesbauer, the Operations Manager, totally understood that.
The big donuts became more like oil sponges today BUT NO BIG DEAL for Carol…she swapped my Cindy out for a 1/2 dozen donuts at No extra charge when I mentioned the quality.
Needless to say, my guests are gonna get Lee’s Donuts for desert tonight😂
Carol totally understands how to keep customers happy and her wonderful staff have big smiles behind their masks😷
Well done once again Lee’s Donut

On a sunny Saturday, the lineup for donuts snakes outside the door and wrapped around the exterior part of the building!!! We ended up waiting for 15-20 mins in the slowest moving donut line possible lol. When we got there, we ended up getting recommended the sugar cinnamon or honey glazed; we bought both along with the strawberry sprinkles. Actual donut is quite dense and made fresh, so worth it for that alone, although I wouldn’t wait 20 mins again.
Popular spot for donuts that usually has a line out the door. Line moves pretty fast though. We just tried one, the Bavarian, which was dusted with a ton of sugar and a cream custard filling inside. It was very filling and I'd like to try other flavors in the future.
These are really good donuts but probably a bit overhyped. There was a really long line out the front door and from what I’ve heard, that’s usually the case. There were lots of really delicious looking flavours to choose from. We ended up picking three: New York Cheesecake, Raspberry Jelly, and Honey Dip. Overall, they weren’t the best donuts I’ve ever had but still pretty good and worth trying. I also think the service was great, with the staff being very efficient and friendly.
Now I understand why people line up to get donuts in here!!!
The donuts are really good and I visited many good donut places in NY but this place is the best of best. It’s old fashioned donut style so keep that in mind if you thought of trendy donuts with various kinds of cream inside.
Anyway, I would get in the line to get the donuts again!
You would not regret!
I would gain so much weight if I lived close to Lee’s Donuts. Fortunately for me, I live thousands of miles away. Their donuts is addicting. While standing in line, my wife and I got to see them make donuts fresh which was a nice and unique experience. Highly recommend everyone to try the honey dipped donut, matcha, and cake.
Lee's Donuts are the real deal! They're definitely worth a 20-minute lineup. The staff are friendly and patient no matter how long it takes you to decide which donuts you want.
Each time I go, I find new donut flavours to try. My recent favourites are the honey dew cake donut and Bavarian cream donut.
I'd love to see Lee's Donuts add a few awesome vegan donuts to their lineup.
I heard good things about this place. It was delicious! No lineup when I went on a Thursday afternoon. So many yummy flavours to choose from. They have unique flavours too such as honeydew, matcha, and mango filled doughnuts. I'd definitely go back!!
