This is a cute little cafe. The atmosphere is casual and friendly. The staff is warm and inviting. We were surprised by the reviews because I’m from Texas so unfortunately the food wasn’t quite good to me but the presentation was beautiful. The eggs were almost orange and had a weird taste, the hash brown was mushy on the inside and bland, and the pancake was bland. But all the food was presented beautifully and the hot chocolate was great. My friends enjoyed the coffee with baileys added. But they all agreed the food was just a little to bland, not enough seasoning or flavor. But others with different taste buds might enjoy the food, it just depends on your taste. But we loved our waitress. The restaurant style is so nice and the bathroom was clean. Go early to beat the rush because the line can get very long. There is parking on the street and in the parking garages across the street.
Excellent coffee!! Strong & hot. Funky little place great vibe! Had the Cinnamon pancake yum but super sweet & very large …order smaller portion. Hubby had French Toast with fried Chicken.. HUGE but so good. Chicken was perfectly done!! Highly recommend, worth the wait!
This place came well recommended. Was disappointed to see the menu, with most things fried! Decided to stay, as all of us were quite hungry. We were seated fairly quickly, though there was a steady line of people waiting through most of our meal. I could not understand it, until we got the food! I got the Vegan Bowl and it was amazing!! Fantastic mix of textures and flavors, I want to eat it again before we leave Vancouver. Chicken tacos and their signature Fried Chicken Benny dish were equally appreciated. Higher quality, clearly more refined food than what a glance at the menu first suggested.
A great place for brunch with a lot of unique options. Their tiramisu pancakes are very sweet, so I recommend you get that if you feel like you’re in a dessert mood. Their Later Tater bowl is always a good choice. We waited about 20 minutes - it was a rainy Monday - which I think is a good enough waiting time.
Love love love this place. Always expect there is a line. I waited 20 minutes this time. We got in and got our orders in about 10 minutes after. Staff were super nice and food came in quickly! I ordered the pork belly egg benny and my friend got the Fried Chicken Waffle. The Pork belly meat was tender with crispy skin. The red onion spread on top of the muffin was the subtle brilliance of the dish.
Can't wait to visit again ☺️
super cute and tasty brunch spot! The long line and busyness of the restaurant was daunting but it pases fairly quickly! The food was definitely worth the wait and as other reviewers mentioned, portions were generous. We got the veggie bowl and it was delicious (asked for without gravy though). The blueberry pancakes were good as well, very thick and cakey and did not disappoint. Servers were also really friendly and the bathrooms were good. Their iced latte was just okay. Definitely want to come back!
The new high bar for breakfast. The most creative and inspirational breakfast I've ever experienced!! Just love it, the flavor, the uniqueness, creativity, quantity all 5 stars. Can hardly wait to get back next time with family or friends! All I can say is giddy up ! Way fun.
Upon arrival, the line was literally down the block and it was about an hour and a half until close. Still excited to eat, we waited a solid 40 minutes for a table. The Cafe has got a hustle and bustle, rustic 50s vibe to it and it’s rather small.. so that explains the wait.
We ordered the Later Tater Bowl with Pulled Pork and Chicken French Toast. The Tater Bowl was hardy meal that was rich in flavour! I love tater tots and corn so this dish was speaking to me. The Chicken French Toast had such a complex flavour profile. The dish has a lot going on but it is still very well balanced and delicious. When they say thick cut French toast, they really mean it! But that Maple BBQ sauce really ties the whole dish together. Another nice thing about Jam is that the portions are pretty big!
We also ordered their Pink Lemonade and Blueberry Milkshake. Both drinks were just okay, I wasn’t in love with the lemonade and from what I tasted the blueberry flavour wasn’t really pronounced in the milkshake.
I totally understand the hype behind this restaurant though! You can really see and taste the creativity in the various dishes on their menu. Next time, I’d really like to
go for one of their pancakes or waffle dishes. With that being said, I can assure you Jam Cafe will be seeing me again!
