Review Redcan Gourmet - Vancouver Island

Pizza was 10/10. We liked it so much we came back again. A large was more than enough for two adults. The crust is really good on these pizzas and its a pretty thick slice. You're given four toppings. The best combo we made was roasted garlic, pepperoni, mushrooms and tomatoes

The perfect sandwich, that’s all. I had the veggie one, boyfriend the turkey. Great service from friendly moustache sandwich-maker man. We both had an excellent time. 10/10

We eat pizza where ever we go and THIS is special. Not only is the service amazing but the food is well , *chefs kiss* . So fresh and the topping choices are carefully curated and prepared to perfection. Seriously contemplating having it for dinner again tonight. Thanks for the Great experience.

We are so happy we found this little gem! The baguette sandwiches are to die for and my son really enjoyed the cheese pizza! If you are in tofino make sure you stop here for a meal!! The staff is so friendly and welcoming

I was very disappointed with my pizza. I ordered a double portion of cheese and couldn't believe how little was on the pizza - and the veggies were so few in number, I could count the mushrooms and peppers on one hand! I wanted anchovies as stipulated on the menu, but they didn't have any. It was the worst pizza I ever had. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Not very friendly staff either.

Really nice take out pizza. Homemade crust, pick your toppings. A little bit pricey but it’s Tofino, everything’s pricey. The cupcake and brownie was really good as well.

Excellent pizza. 4 toppings on the pizza with lots of toppings to choose from. We ordered ahead of time for pick up. 1 large should feed 3 - 4 people.

Ordered pizzas from here earlier in the afternoon and then picked them up for dinner a few hours later. Quick and easy. Pizzas were fresh and very good.

Amazing pizza and great service, quality ingredients and from the Snell coming from the kitchen I assume that the whole menu is amazing food too.

Red Can introduced me to the thickest pizza crust that I have ever seen in my lifetime. It was akin to eating two slices of pizza stacked together. The pizza toppings were fine, in fact the salami was really tasty and the cheese was a delicious melted oozy mess. However we just couldn't look past the super thick crust, even if it was quite a lovely soft and fluffy dough.

The next day we managed to tried the paninis, which were much more normal in thickness but was quite generous in size. Most of us could only finished half of it, as we also had chips and salads on the side. Nothing very special with the sides but props to the fresh and flavourful fillings - the salami and turkey got honourable mentions. The bread also deserved some love - a bit crispy on the outside, a bit soft on the inside and a whole lot of deliciousness all around.

Really great, yummy food with fresh ingredients and generous portions. Everything is always cooked really well everytime I go and the I love the protein / veg / bread ratio on the sandwiches. And they have some of the best mac and cheese dishes I've ever had -- it was so good that I had leftovers for breakfast the next morning and it was cold because I didn't have a microwave but I still loved every bite.

Excellent take-out sandwiches. We grabbed a couple sandwiches to take on a tour to Hot Springs Cove - one was turkey cranberry brie and the other was salami with grainy mustard. Both sandwiches were massive and delicious! So yummy! We were really happy to have them with us on the trip and they were so filling I couldn't even eat mine in one sitting!

First night in Tofino and take out was by far the best choice. Fantastic food. Friendly cooks and Chef. It has a high review rating for a reason. Try it and you won't be disappointed. I had a burg (a monster burg!) and my wife had the chicken entree. Apparently the menu changes weekly so trust the quality of the staff and their experience. Excellent!

Great Food and Great People. We pulled into town very late and found Red Can on urbanspoon. We pulled up as the open sign turned around in the window. I put the car into reverse and was pulling away when Chef and owner Tim came out to let me know his pizza oven was still hot and that he could make us a pizza while we ran to the Tofino Brewing Co just across street for some to go beer. Besides Tim being extremely polite the pizza was excellent! Very great hand tossed style crust. Although I expected it to be a thin crust this was much better and very filling. The two of us planned on having leftovers but ate the entire large pie ourselves because it was so great. We had planned to go back the following day however we toured the hot springs cove with Jamies Whaling Tours and got back around 8:30pm and could not make it. Will be back on our next trip to Tofino! Great Place

Very well prepared food. A great idea for dinner while staying in Tofino or nearby resorts is to order dinner from the Red Can. The menu is short but interesting. The food is always well prepared, as good or better than many of the restaurants in town. We phone ahead. Pick it up. Open a nice bottle of wine and enjoy a nice dinner back at our temporary home. 4 stars.

A little rusty. We used RedCan Gourmet for our wedding. We had a family style dinner and we provided the fish for the meal as well. The chef did a really good job accommodating our menu. The food was really good, but the timing of the food wasn't, and they could have given us an explanation of what was being served(I'm sure most people aren't used to a cold vegetable dish without explaining that it was meant to be served cold). However, the chocolate mousse was one of the best we've ever tasted . Also, when we were trying to contact RedCan through their email, it took them a long time to get back to us, even after we decided to go with them. It was nerve racking.
When we got our receipt for the food, he misquoted our price. He ended up charging us 5 dollars extra per/person, even after we provided the fish. We were a little confused by that, but too tired to deal with it. All in all it was a great food experience. I just wish there was better communication and less of a impertinent attitude.

Gourmet Take Out Food, Very Reasonable Prices. Red Can Gourmet was recommended to us by another restaurant in Ucluelet (Cyn at Night - amazing BBQ). We were told it was take out only, but would not be dissapointed with the food or the price, and that a lot of the locals eat there. They have a great pizza selection, though they will make it with whatever toppings you ask for if they have them. They also had a few daily specials that sounded amazing, but we decided on the pizza. We ordered pizza off the menu with a few additions and was directed to Tofino Brewery across the street for beer tasting while we waited the 20 minutes for our food to be ready. Less than 15 minutes later, we picked up our pizza and a homemade baked dessert bar and headed off to the beach to eat. Excellent pizza, loaded with gourmet toppings (roasted red pepper, roasted garlic, carmelized onions, goat feta cheese, pineapple and ham) and a perfectly cooked crust that didn't get soggy after sitting in the box on our drive to Incinerator Rock Beach. The chef apparently apprenticed at Fetch Restaurant at Black Rock Resort in Ucluelet and you could definitly tell the food was cooked by someone who took pride in their food creation, rather than the slapped together fast food pizza made by some kid at Pizza Hut. I hear their pasta and salads are also tasty, (particularly the shrimp linguini), so the next time we're in Tofino, we'll be stopping by to see what else we can try from the menu.

I've eaten here multiple times and it has never been anything but epicly delicious! Your always welcomed by professional staff who are more than pleased to help you and the prices are great for a small town with expensive restaurants. Awesome sandwiches, salads and treats for lunch. Excellent entres, gourmet pizza, salads and desserts for dinner. My favorite place in Tofino! Make sure you don't miss eating here during your stay! Everything is takeout but that is why the food is not overpriced. If its a five star rating then this place definitely gets five stars!

Located in the Industrial District of Tofino, BC, right across the street from the Tofino Brewing Company, Red Can Gourmet is described as “a professional open concept commercial kitchen” where patrons can “interact with chefs as they create inspired west coast dishes.
