Review Izushi Japanese Restaurant - Vancouver Island

All you can eat sushi for $40 dollars. A great place to try out lots of different items for one price. The restaurant is quite dark inside and has a feeling that they want to be romantic and cool at the same time but fall short. The service was very polite, but there was quite the wait time after they gave us our food to order a second round. The oyster was delish and I would recommend it as they are pretty big, buttery goodness. They do limit it for 2 per person but it was filling and satisfying. The sashimi that they offer is unlimited, but after eating it... decent? tasted half fresh? But on the other side, with the teriyaki, noodles, deep fried, and rolls were fabulous. The crisp on the tonkasu was light, flavorful, and a nice meaty inside. If the price was a bit lower, I would come back again just for those oysters and fried food 😋

We went for all you can eat. Sushi they did their best at accommodating celiac and dairy allergy. However, most of the menu does have gluten in it, but they do have gluten-free soy sauce and they did accommodate some of the stuff that we couldn't have which was awesome. Service took a little while to get going but once we got our food they were really on point. The woman did get mad at one of our guests for not tipping which I found quite rude. I can understand tipping is huge but sometimes people can't afford to tip and eat out. Two out of our four guests were able to tip, however, I don't believe a business should be chastising people when they can't.

We enjoyed this place , its the only ALL YOU CAN EAT in downtown Victoria . The quality here is more homemade style then shabusen in vancouver city . Lots of places to sit around the chairs are more wood chairs and some have cushions. They also got booths here . And sushi bar for seating and window tables . There is not much staff here so be patient . The restaurant location is in a bit of a low end area of downtown Victoria that kinda reminds me of mt pleasant /east van type in Vancouver city . FYI This restaurant also has a senior rate for buffet . We were happy with our dinner here we ordered the ALL YOU CAN EAT . I added the menu pictures to this post aswell including the drink menu. They got a very cutttteee fish tank . Its walkable to get here if your in a hotel nearby took us around a easy ten minutes to walk here .

I felt this place's menu was much closer to japanese cuisine, loved it, they have a la cart service and an all you can eat option for 40 cad where you order by serving and it's prepared at the moment, not buffet style, portions are good enough for you to try a bit of everything and share. Be careful when ordering cuz if you order too much, they charge you for the left overs. Taste is great, portions are good and service was excellent, nice drink menu as well. I'd go back every week to get my money worth of japanese food. They have sashimi, Nigri, maki, tepanyiaki, fried and grill seafood and snacks, noodles, great variety. Our server Cameron was awesome!

Pretty large selection of items for the pricing; moderately priced compared to similar ayce in Vancouver (usually $45+), especially considering the location of this restaurant. You do get what you pay for though; while food quality is decent, obviously don’t expect high end grade sashimi. I recommend getting sashimi over nigiri sushi’ though, since the rice is dry and/or undercooked. Rice fills you up unnecessarily too, so might as well save the space for some other items. Oyster motoyaki is a must try, but it was a little on the salty side. Grilled saba (mackerel) is another highlight. Waitresses are actually fairly attentive for an ayce place—frequently refilled water and asked if I needed to order more items without needing to flag them down. Overall would recommend if you’re looking to satisfy your sashimi/sushi cravings without breaking the bank.

The food was excellent, and presentation was lovely, however the service left a little to be desired. Granted, this was new years eve. However, the question "how long does it take to cook raw fish?" Would be an accurate sentiment to the speed in which we were served. It shouldn't take two hours for a meal at a sushi place. But since it was so good I feel alright giving four stars.

The waitress was amazing. We got to the restaurant 30 min before all you could eat was over , which she alerted us of. Recommended that we order everything right away and she brought it quickly. The food was good but the portions are small so it's hard to know how many plates to order. If you don't order enough the first time, you have a very long wait for more. When the place is full. Which it wasn't this visit so it was not an issue.

This was an excellent opportunity to sample Shiki Sushi's all-you-can-eat menu and try all sorts of new fare. My favourite was the sushi pizza, but everything we sampled was prepared with excellence and tasted wonderful. At $40 per person it would seem overly expensive, but when you consider how much we consumed, and how broad our menu was, it was really good value. Great work by the staff preparing our food, service was good and the people working there are friendly and helpful.

Shiki is my favorite sushi place downtown Victoria hands down. Decent pricing and high quality food. The sushi chefs are elegant in their presentation. I would highly recommend shiki sushi!

I really enjoyed the sushi roll and takoyaki. The salmon sashimi pieces were fresh, and cool (really important). However there was lack of bonito flakes ( katsuobushi, idk but i searched on the internet). Also, there are lots of tables for 4, even for a party (group of 8+).

Great place for all you can eat sushi. The price is decent but depends on how much you eat.

All you can eat Japanese food. Food is pretty good for an all you can eat place and the food is made to order. Last call for food is at 9pm so make sure to give your self time.
