Review White Spot - Vancouver Island

GREECE Food
Double Ceasar is da bomb.... Good morning conversation and Eggs Benny to keep you coming back.

Outstanding service from our server. They followed pandemic protocols well, and social distancing was followed, all in all we felt very safe while dining here. We've been to other white spots in the area, and the food prepared here was a cut above the rest. The food came out in a timely manner, was well seasoned, hot and delicious. We had salads, burgers, and milkshakes, and everything was best in class! Thanks for the great experience!

I've had such great experiences ordering take out from this White Spot during the pandemic! The online ordering is very easy, and they give you a lot of different options for sides/additions. The staff here are very efficient and friendly. I've never had to wait more than a couple minutes for my take out order, and the food has been excellent! I've tried a few different options (halibut, chicken wrap, beef dip, club sandwich) and they've all been great!! Very happy with this location and would highly recommend!

If you are looking for a solid, good feed, this is the place for you. The staff were very welcoming and attentive and happy to cater to every request that was made. The servings were very generous and full of flavor. The vegetarian option was excellent and the candied salmon was tasty but not overpowering. The bottomless smashed brown was crisp and nicely cooked. The only disappointing thing was I could not take advantage of it because I was already completely satisfied. Highly recommended.

I went there with my friends and we had an amazing experience. The best whitespot I have ever been to! Also, the waiter - Morgan - he is a incredible guy. So kind, funny and very quickly, his service was perfect! I am totally going there again. I would recommend.

I time eating at busy locations like this to avoid the busiest times. My double double burger was exactly spot on, pun intended. Really was perfect, male server looked after me well, he was attentive without being in my face. My fries were amazing, when I got them fresh, hot and just crisp enough. I left a happy camper

Always a good place for dinner. Pleasant staff fast service and decent quality food for the price. This is a family favourite for us. One daughter likes the calamari and one likes the seafood Fettuccini. The BC burger is one of my go to dinners here. Check it out if you not sure what to get.

The restaurant was welcoming and super clean. The staff were exceptionally friendly and the meal was the best I've ever had, cooked perfectly. The burger was juicy and topped perfectly, the fries were fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside, lightly salted for flavour, delicious! The milkshake, you have to try for yourself, it's fabulous!

Went here for brunch with my sister expecting a normal meal but got way more. They have the best food I've ever had. The burger way perfectly cooked and their sauce was amazing. Also the man who served us was very welcoming. Over all I would recommend this places to anyone who want a good meal!

My family and I visited the White Spot for lunch on Caledonia and Douglas. We were nine of us and from out of town The food was good but the service was outstanding!!! Ryan was working at the bar but he was also our server as I didn't see anyone else in that section. At one point he also went to greet and seat a customer He made our visit there a remarkable one.You need more people like him in your other restaurants. I hope he gets recognition for that. Thank you

Enjoyed a delightful morning breakfast last Sunday while sheltering from the pouring rain at the time. Lovely atmosphere in the bar with the gas fireplace. Most welcoming. Top notch Eggs Benedict and hash browns to die for...Very pleasant service delivered at a nicely unhurried pace.

My husband and I ordered our dinner from here last minute, thinking it might not be great since it's the end of the night... WRONG'O! It was as delicious as ever! Chicken mushroom fettuccine, so good! They didn't have what my husband wanted so they gave us a little treat on the house! So sweet! Thank you team White Spot and Zoe! You guys are awesome!

We stepped into a chaotic Saturday evening. They were clearly understaffed when the hostess kept leaving her post to wipe up tables, leaving an ever-growing line of people waiting to be seated. Our waiter was courteous and friendly but I felt bad for the poor guy. He was so stressed with sweat coming down his forehead. Clearly very understaffed. We had plenty of warning that food would take 30 min due to understaffing in the kitchen (you mean understaffed everywhere?). An hour later we still hadn't had our food and the manager comes up to us apologizing. Apparently the rack of ribs we ordered was dropped on the floor - and it was the last rack of ribs. So she told us to order something else and it'll be on the house. We weren't mad but an hour later without food we were past the point of hungry. Despite the chaotic experience we had I'm still giving 4/5 as the staff let us know ahead of time that it'd be a wait for the food, they were generally apologetic and it was very obvious they were trying their best. Of course, only paying for my order of tacos was the cherry on top. Smart customer satisfaction move.

NOT WHITE SPOT. Ive been going to white spot for years. Absolitely ridiculous that someone can foul up an order as much. Not worth the time or effort.

Great brekky. Usually come here for breakfast, always done right. There are few places in Victoria that serve hash browns, which I enjoy. Service is good, never too long a wait. Having a full breakfast with coffee and orange juice is a on the expensive side.
Indigo
Great milkshakes. Gross veggie burger.

Poor wait staff for having to work understaffed. They still did a great job and didn't even look pissed that management is too cheap to have 1-2 more people working. Why do restraints do that? It hurts your bottom dollar when people have to wait to be seated vs. cheating out on staff.
As for the food, it's the same as any other White Spot.

Fish and chips. Tried the Whitespot for the first time last week and it will be the last. Had the fish and chip special. Halibut was way over cooked, fries were cold. Extra cost for a poor salad was a rip off. Burger was ok. Waitress said she would get the manager but we never ever saw him! So much for customer service.

I am a customer at White Spot and I have only praises for the food and the service. However, this particular location gave me a bad experience. Order wasn't right, beverages were not great and service in general was lousy. The manager responded by giving us the meals for free but damage was done. Probably will not visit this particular location in the future.

Okay!. Visited for the first time a couple days ago. Tried the fish and chips, which were surprisingly good! My fiancèe had the Truffled Mushroom Burger special and thought it was decent as well. All in all, it was a good meal. Price, service, and cleanliness were all great.

Went again today for dnner, and brought more people. Unfortunately the meal wasn't as good this time. I tried the Chicken Pot Pie, but found it runny and flavourless. The pastry was very good, but that's about all the dish had to recommend itself. Filled up on the bottomless fries instead. Our dinner guests tried the fish and chips (over cooked) and the fettucini alfredo (barely any sauce) and weren't impressed either. My fiancèe, on the other hand, scored again with another delicious burger, a yummy looking caesar salad and a strawberry pie.

The food is reasonably priced, and the service is great, but flavour is definitely inconsistent. Worth a try if you're looking for something cheap and easy, though.

My advice is to come here before you're hungry, that way you'll get your food just as you begin to get hungry...because they're so slow.

It is a White Spot. I like White Spot because of the nostalgia. I like this location in particular because it's close to home. The food is okay, it's on/off. But somehow I always seem to go when the fam is in town. And I don't intend to stop.

PERFECT! (NOT). I have been a White Spot fan far longer than I can truly remember. Way back before the General Foods sell-out... Way back before the "Garlic-Botullinum Scandal"... Way back before the end of the last Car-Hop service closed down. I remember my family pulling up in the 64 rambler for Car-hop service in lower New Westminster every second Tuesday.

And I remain a fan to this day, bringing my family to many of the restaurants knowing that we will always be able to find something that is palatable. The food is humbly good, with an adequate portion size and reasonable quality and flavour. All this is well presented in a timely and visually appealing manner, by pleasant staff.

So is there something wrong? For me, YES! I realize that this may sound petty and all simply semantics, but at this particular location (Douglas and Caledonia), there seems to be a trend which puts me off. "PERFECT". Each of the wait staff seem to think this is the only adjective to use. Whatever I (we) order, their answer is "PERFECT!" As if to let me know that I was lucky enough to guess the "secret menu of the day". "How is everything tasting"? they ask. "OK, thank you", says I. "Perfect!" Well, now that you mention it... "perfect" would be if you delivered it to my home and propped it up on my belly as I sat on my couch watching the tube, then paid the bill instead of expecting me to. "PERFECT" is no way to describe anything that can not be. Food, service, ambaince and value are subjective. Don't call it "Perfect".

The standard of all typical chain eateries

Home of the most overrated burger ever, this is a fast food burger, not reflected bc at all! Got to disagree

Solid food! Never dissapppinted. Great burgers. If new to BC then give this place a try.

Good BC food!. Best non fast food burgers in town. Food is always good. Service is proper, not in your face.
