Review The Pink Bicycle - Vancouver Island

Had a great lunch with a client here. I always get the Mutton Burger but today we changed it up with the Bahn Mi Burger and the Bison BBQ Burger. The burgers are always cooked perfectly and retains a lot of juice and never dry. The sauces are flavorful without being overbearing and the overall burger eats quite light which does not leave you feeling lethargic. Staff are always very attentive and cheerful. Always look forward to my next visit.

Funky chill place with exceptional burgers! Our 2nd time here, on vacation, and made sure to go. Enjoyed the truffle fries poutine - it was incredibly tasty. And the Blue Cheese Lamb burger - exceptional, delivered as described, full flavours. Good beer choice and specials at a very good price. Happy Hour deals are good, prices are as expected for gourmet burgers, very kind service.

The variety of choices for burgers can be overwhelming. The best way to deal with the "problem" is just keep going back and trying them all!! Also, the fries and poutine are served with delicious Rosemary Gravy ... as if they weren't already some of the BEST fries around. the gravy just takes then up a notch. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

I will guarantee that once you try this place you will definitely try it for the second time as well! Burgers are amazing!!! I really like it. The taste , size, look, everything is great! I loved it!

Excellent spot for burgers. Tried the truffle mushroom burger and it was delicious and extremely filling. Onion rings tasted very different than typical and had a slightly unusual texture — like a chickpea batter used in some Indian deep-fried dishes, and a similar seasoning too. Overall it was enjoyable.

Their burger was amazing , perfectly cooked , no fishy odor The salad was super delicious The staff are cute and professional Reasonable prices Parking on street Would recommend it one of the best burgers in BC

Unique but delicious burger. Had the classic pink bicycle. The sesame seed bun is awesome the fries were crisped to perfection and lightly salted the meat had an different but good flavor. It tasted as if it had a little sweetness to it and maybe some Worcester? Also had the spinach and blue cheese salad very tasty. Loved the red peppers they paired really well with the pears and blue cheese.

All of the burgers I've tried have been delicious. They also offer beyond meat patties for vegetarians which is always a plus. Their sides are great as well. Onion rings, fries, mac and cheese sticks. They're all good. I highly recommend pink bicycle to anyone looking for a delicious meal.

Fantastic gourmet burgers. Had the blue cheese burger with truffle fries. The burger tasted great and the fries smelled amazing in addition to being amazing. Highly recommended.

Great local place for burgers and drinks. Large selection of patty options as well as toppings. Big portions. Was busy right until closing, arrived an hour before closing and had one empty table. Friendly service.

Today was my first time at the pink bicycle but definitely not my last! This place was great. The service was really good, the staff were friendly and professional and the food was amazing! I had the Bison burger and pear salad and both were delicious! That Bison burger was by far the best Bison burger I have ever had!

March 20th, 2018 was my first time visiting The Pink Bicycle. I had dinner with my friend. We arrived just before the dinner rush thankfully. I ordered the Pink Bike Cheese Burger for $12.95 with a side Poutine for $3 extra. My burger was easily 2 times the size of a regular beef burger from Bin4 and was WAY better tasting, and super filling! I could only eat half my burger and half my Poutine before I was full. It was absolutely the best burger I’ve had in town! The Poutine was awesome too. My friend ordered the Mac N’ Cheese Sticks for $9, they were an entire meals worth of Mac and cheese sticks and also delicious. The staff were fantastic, answered all my questions and offered to provide the Pink Bicycle sauce on the side instead of on my burger as I was t sure if I’d like it (but I ended up loving it). The only thing I wasn’t fond of were all the people coming in for dinner and having to stand around the tables in the entry way, felt crowded and difficult to enjoy dinner with lots of onlookers hovering over your table. When I say dinner rush, I mean it. They were packed and had 15 people waiting for seats. More people arrived and left as they saw how packed it was. Other people got tired of waiting and decided to order for take out, they ended up leaving with their food before the people ahead of them got even got seated. The Pink Bicycle is SO good and popular that I think it needs a much bigger restaurant so more people can sit and enjoy the delicious food and friendly atmosphere! I will be back for sure, and I will bring new people! Thank you!

Excellent! We had the Black Bean Veggie burger and spinach & pear salad - highly recommend. Be prepared for a cozy space and for it to be busy during the dinner time frame. We'll definitely be back!
Margo Sheridan
Love you guys ! Your lamb burger was the best I’ve ever eaten . And your onion rings were off the hook!
Merrie Stipsky Reid
One of the best burgers I've ever had in the world! I am allergic to garlic, so they told me I couldn't eat the regular burger. So I decided to try to bison burger for the first time. It was the best hands down. And then let's talk about the poutine, OMG!!! I would definitely go back to Victoria to get a burger!

My wife and I were visiting from Vancouver this past weekend and we stopped in at The Pink Bicycle for lunch before flying home. We were SO glad we did. Our burgers were fabulous and the service was excellent. Such a wide array of burgers in different types of meat and vegetarian. We definitely recommend and we will definitely be back!

I was with my wife today and were excited to try the Pink Bicycle for the first time. We walked downtown to shop and had numerous bags and heavy jackets. We were about to sit at a table for four to accommodate our bags and coats, also I am a bigger man and find tables for two too small. The server wanted us to move to the back where it was dark and beside the kitchen at a smaller space to save the table for four in case others came in. We were so put off we left and have no intention of ever coming back to this restaurant.

Be aware that if you are looking for pricing on their website the menu pricing is not accurate, also if you try and message this company to advise them of this issue they will ignore your messages. Pretty dissapointed in the customer service, hopefully they can figure it out because the food was pretty good :(

This cute little place has limited seating but awesome friendly staff !! Also AMAZING onion rings , with dill in the batter . I can’t wait to go in there again. This is a Victoria “ must eat” in my opinion .
Victoriawalking
Burger was really good. Gave us old crappy hard cold fries. Mentioned it politely to staff and was not impressed with thier reaction. Learn some customer service because bad stories travel farther than good ones. There are a lot of burger joints in Victoria so I won't be going back. Comping my $15 meal would have gone a long way.

I kept watching the pics of this burgers for several days, even my friend would make fun of my non yet eaten fixation. I just needed to be sure the guilt was going to be worth.

One of those "I can't take it anymore" days, my friend was kind to share the munchies blame with me.

The place was busy but the waitress quickly took our drinks order. My respects for her because she was running all around attending the whole place.

I ordered the blue cheese lamb burger with truffle fries. It tasted just ok. The meat was cooked passed medium term so it wasn't so juicy, the blue cheese did make a good match, and for some reason I couldn't taste the smoky grilled flavour I smelled so many times passing by. Mood killer: some of the fries tasted like burnt oil.

Maybe the chef didn't have a good day that day, maybe food porn do elevates the expectations too high.

Ive had this place on my food radar for years and finally made it there today for lunch.
Im going to say that its probally as good as the many positive reviews it gets here and elsewhere.
Everything in place and order that you just know theyve got it figured. The wait staff were perfect, the decor funky and comfortable booths.
The quality of the ingredients in my burger+ 1/2 fries1/2 salad(+$1)were absolutely top shelf.
The special burger I ordered however tasted definitely burnt, like practically impossible to eat burnt, and greasy too.
The patty was made with PBR beer and wrapped in bacon.
Also, the super tasty salad barely filled the ramiken bowl it was served in. Very tiny portion me thought.

Having typed that I will definitely highly recommend this establishment.
And try to choose a heathier food option next time.

While in Victoria, the boyfriend and I tried a few locally loved restaurants. I mean, you’re not truly visiting a place if you don’t try their food, right? When we were looking up restaurants to eat, The Pink Bicycle rose to the top of both of our lists.

Came here on a Thursday night, just in time to find tables. About 10 min later the place was packed and people coming in had to line up. They have the same menu except the halibut burger was unavailable (indefinitely?). Service was quick and we got our drinks right away. The burger took a little while longer but we weren't in a hurry. The atmosphere became quite buzzing with conversation but I was still able to have a nice chat with my friend and we could still hear each other without feeling like the next table could hear our every word. Their house salad was nice for palate cleansing, but the fries portion had shrunk compared to the last time I was here. Dessert menu is virtually non existent as the only option we were given was deep fried Mars bars. No thanks I'll pass. Go for the burgers and stick with their delicious burgers!

Hi we enjoyed eating there lots of great choices of hamburgers the staff was nice and knew the menu
Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The food was really great here! I ordered the special of the day and it turned out even better then I could imagine! The only downside was near the end of our meal, some smoke was coming in from someone smoking outside and when we notified the server she didn't close the door so I had to get up and close it myself.
Funkadoodle
Was so good. Got the ahi tuna burger. It was delicious. Also had the onion rings which were so tasty. Such a cute little place. Will try a new burger next time! 🍔

My husband and I really enjoyed the burger and poutine we had here. Delicious! Great food! Though perhaps not the healthiest. 😉. We will be back. Truffle poutine was delicious.

I came here during the Christmas break while visiting Victoria. The restaurant is small & we were seated by the window at first. There was a draft where we were and it was freezing cold so we asked to be moved.

My boyfriend ordered the classic burger with blue cheese, fried egg & bacon as add-ons with onion rings. The add-ons were $2 each so it's a bit pricey as the burger was almost $18! I ordered the spicy black bean burger with poutine. The food took a while, the kitchen is upstairs and the dining room is downstairs. There was only 2 servers working and one of them had to do the food run, so service suffered a little.

The food came and the burgers were huge! They were both delicious and the onion rings were good. The poutine was too salty, to a point where I found it not edible.

Overall, food was good and I would come back.
JonCYEG
Tried Maple Salmon Burger. In my opinion... THE best burger I've ever had! Fresh, tasty, oozing with flavour. Who would have thought that I would find this in Victoria LOL. I would definitely come back!!!

After hearing about this place for years, i had high hopes. I ordered the honey mustard chicken burger with mac n'cheese sticks and it was pretty underwhelming. It wasn't terrible, it just didn't wow me like I had originally hoped. Slightly overpriced, bland atmosphere. Probably wouldn't return.

We have always trying to visit the Pink Bicycle over the last few summers but never got a chance. This year we finally made it and I wish we had earlier. Firstly, the food is simply incredible. We had the blue flame beef burger with smoked bacon. This is easily one of the juiciest, flavourful, and fantastic burgers I have had. The side poutine was amazing as well. Try the mac and cheese sticks too, they are delicious. Secondly, the drinks are awesome. Great beers and tasty sodas. Lastly, and in opinion a very important factor, I'd the service. Probably the nicest server we have had in a long time. She was so nice with out 2 year old and engaged with her. Her comments and feedback was excellent. She made the trip her just that lite extra perfect. Highly recommend coming here if you can.
Andre C
Perfect!. This place deserve its awards! Service was excellent and fast. Food was tasty, hot and well presented. Friendly service, great choice of really good sodas.
The Thirsty Traveller
Simply the best burger ever.. I feel I need to expand on the above statement to give it actual value. My burger experience was picture perfect from star to finish. When my wife and I arrived, there was only only one other couple so our waitress was over right away to take our order. I went with the standard Cheese Burger with smoked bacon while my wife went with the Truffle Mushroom Burger and as I am the Thirsty Traveller, I felt it necessary to top it off with a Bacon Caesar.
Some people might think a Caesar with a piece of bacon sticking out of it as odd but in fact it was actually very good with just the right amount of spice and the smoked bacon just finished it off nicely.
Now down to the serious business of the burger. To start with the MTBR ( meat to bun ratio) was perfect as was everything else about the burger. The bun was super tasty I believe due to the fact it seemed to be home baked and had extra sesame seeds. The seeds gave it a nutty flavour that was very nice. The burger was well cooked but still incredibly juicy and full of flavour with every bite. The smoked bacon was awesome and they used fancy lettuce to garnish the burger that looked good and also tasted great.
I have tried almost every other burger joint in this town and feel I've truly found my place. I think I may have just died and gone to burger heaven.

Salty & Dry. I was here six months ago or so and liked my regular cheeseburger and fries, which is why I give it those 2 stars, but I came in this past weekend and wasn't too impressed. The truffle mushroom burger was so saturated in truffle oil that there was no point in having anything else on the plate. It's a potent flavor and you need that subtlety. That and a dry patty left my burger-loving self quite sad. My onion rings were too salty to eat, and it was so dark in there I was straining my eyes to see my food. Bummer!

I am a very disgruntled deep fried Mac and cheese stick lover. My first time at the Pink Bike was beyond fantastic. The food was fresh, hot and a pleasure to both my tongue and stomach. I fell in love with deep fried mac and cheese sticks offered for a slick $7 for four massive rectangles of panko breaded gooey heaven, nearly a meal in themselves if ordered with a cute little side Caesar salad. My second experience occured on a busy Friday during the dinner rush; needless to say it was horrendous. We waited well over five minutes and had three or four different wait staff pass by us without giving us a second glance before we were given any sort of attention or service. We ordered for takeout and they told us it would be approximately 20 minutes. After 45 scathing minutes spent getting hangrier and hangrier we get our food and make haste to get home, only to open our beloved deep fried mac n cheese sticks to find them nearly black. Our burgers were soggy, and our blue cheese sauce was literally cream and blue cheese, no thickness or body at all to it. The fries had black streaks in them due to the poor choice in potatoes to deep fry, and were very underwhelming. Even on a busy Friday, the service and quality should be better. Would have gladly waited longer for unburnt deep fried mac and cheese sticks.

Not a vegitarian but..... Im not the type of guy that usually orders a veggie burger but when I took the first bite of their black bean burger....pure bliss!!!I am hooked! it was seriously one of the best burgers ive ever had!

Loved The Pink Bicycle! The atmosphere was funky and elegant. I had the truffle mushroom burger and onion rings. Delish! The burger comes on a pillowy soft sesame bakery bun which is such a treat! Would recommend!
Paulcg87
Great burgers. I tried The Pink Bicycle recently after hearing it was one of the better burger restaurants on the island. In my opinion, the burgers here are fantastic. The service is also great, and if you like french fries, go for the truffle fries - they're a bit more expensive but worth it. The only downside to this restaurant is its size - it's a bit small and cramped.
Danielle
Delicious!. I thoroughly enjoyed my burger and poutine! I will be back for more!

Consistently great food/unfortunate seating priority. We had another superb dinner at this little restaurant. The unusual thing was waiting for a table for twenty minutes and then have the waitress seat her friends before us, just after they had walked through the door. Querying this we were told that it was no problem because another table would be ready in three minutes. The service was fine but this new staff has very different ideas about managing the restaurant.

Everyone's got their own favourite. To please everyone while in the burger market is tricky business. Fast food burgers and restaurant burgers are completely different taste-wise, but some people just prefer the fast food taste. Places like Fatburger try to bridge that gap by providing a really good fast-food-tasting burger. To some a place like Fatburger is bordering on gourmet. To others, it's just a good fast food burger. I'm of the latter opinion, which is to say if I want a fast food burger, I'd go to a place like Fatburger. But if I want gourmet, I go to Pink Bike. I've gotten a variety of burgers there, and never been disappointed.

Especially recommended for the vegetarians is the portobello mushroom burger! It's got a vinaigrette marinade that makes for a really pleasant mouthful. The truffle fries are a great side, but to be honest I get the house salad more often than anything! Candied sunflower seeds with crumbled cheese (not feta but like feta, can't recall), fresh veggies... mmmmm.

Bin4, I feel, is something that borders more towards the good fast-food quality burger. I mean... I'd call them gourmet I think, but they're on the side of the gourmet spectrum nearer to fast food-style burgers. By no means a bad thing! But if you're a burger buff, you probably get what I'm saying and can take away the idea. So if you're hankering a burger that's nothing like a fast food burger, Pink Bike has your back. This isn't just a burger joint or lounge, this is a gourmet burger restaurant through and through.

Delicious - our favourite burger spot in Victoria! My partner and I are loyal fans of this small funky burger joint on Blanshard. They are devoted to gourmet burgers and they're doin them right. The buns are baked fresh next door and truly top the burger. They are big and packed full of tasty goodness. Prices are reasonable too and you can order just the burger no side for under $10. Great for takeout. Expect a wait in evening.
Ingredients are local, organic and fresh. My hubby swears by the pink bike burger with added bacon and crispy shallots. I LOVE the black bean burger...
Side rant: Most everyone rates burger joints based on the meat patties, but what about the veggie burgers? Try rating a restaurant on that alone! A veg burger demands creativity and innovation - not to mention confidence if making from scratch (as it should be!). Typically the vegetarians only have one or two options on the menu at the average restaurant (if so lucky to have one at all) whereas the carnivore has a multitude of meals to choose from! So logically you'd think the one and only non-meat option would be perfection right, not an afterthought? Wrong, so many times at so many places! Now I can positively say after years and years of hunting for the perfect veggie burger I can declare that the "black bean burger" at Pink Bicycle is *the best veggie burger i've ever had*. Flavourful and spicy and crisp and soft and oh so good - note there are a few chefs in the kitchen who assemble it from good to excellent so i always ask for toasted bun and lots of the jalapeño mayo (I say if its a multi-napkin burger its a good thing!). Fries and onion rings are very good and the poutine is best in town! And if it's Matt in the back (aka upstairs kitchen) then you're double in luck for a knockout burger experience!!!
SomeAsianGuy
Not impressed. Heard about this restaurant from a few people. Went to try it, while it was a decent burger, it wasn't anything special to me. Atmosphere was only ok and prices were high for the food quality. For a burger joint, it should be more aligned with a something like bin4. I don't mind paying for an overpriced burger if it wows me.

Birthday Flop. We went here for a birthday party. The burgers were all rare and had to be sent back. Then they wouldn't let us have a knife to cut our spectacular $50 Cakes Etc cake. They took it to the kitchen to be cut... and they scraped off the whole beautiful top and piled it on a plate. It came back a horrible mess. We will not go back.

Burgs. Best burgers in town fo sho
Caymanisland75
Superb Burgers. One of the reasons I LOVE The Pink Bicycle: simple menu. You know why you are going there - for a burger, whether it be veggie or meat. I've tried at least 5 of their burgers (veggie and meat) - all excellent. Nice, small, casual atmosphere creates an enjoyable experience. I believe they have somewhere around 16 different burgers on the menu....eventually I will try all of them!
Jiyu_nao
Terrible service. It was 1st time we almost tried there but , finally we left before they bring us to seat. It was full table and we were wait 10-15minutes already to get seat, but they gave 4peoples guest to seat who came after us. they said because we are only two the table for 4peoples otherwise ,they have to wait . WHAT ABOUT US????? We were waiting for something ???? It was very BAD experience service at Pink Bicycle before we have a dish or a water !!??
I am not going to back there anymore. and we felt kind a distinction !!!
Zsazsagabour
Decent burgers......terrible service. So after hearing so much ranting and raving about how amazing the burgers are at the pink bicycle, my husband and I decided to finally check it out. They took our names at the door and we were told there'd be a wait (fine no problem it was a friday night and so it was to be expected).
We get to the table and ordered right away. Portions were decently sized..... the fries were delicious. The burger was a little on the dry side but the house sauce was tasty. Not once did any of the 4 servers on the floor quality check our table - other than the exception of when the food was delivered. When we were finished our meals it took nearly 25 minutes to actually get the bill. We asked 2 different servers for help......still no bill...... As someone who has worked in the hospitality industry for nearly 16 years; maybe my standards are a little too high......although considering there are only 12 tables in the entire restaurant with 4 servers perhaps their standards aren't high enough. Will not be returning.

Delicious bison burgers. One of the best bison burgers I have ever had! The fries are great too. The only downside to this restaurant is the space is a little small and we had a 1.5 hour wait for a table - but we had 8 people so it was understandable. They were very accommodating of our group once we did get in :)
Lola_here
It was ohh-kay. I ordered the special burger (French onion) which was flat in flavor. The patty was juicy, but the bun overwhelmed the hamburger.
The service was great, but overall the decor was very tired. There were snags and pulls in a lot of the seat covers and I overheard a diner ask for a new chair because the springs were broken in his.
I will probably not go back because I think the quality of the food and the environment of the restaurant do not justify the price.
SMacV
Tasty!. Been hear a few times over the past year. Really like the staff, they are very sweet and relaxed. Food has been excellent. Loved the honey mustard chicken burger last time, I don't think I spoke to anyone at the table after the first bite of it, until the last bite was gone.
Markh2020
Best Burgers in Vic. Amazing gourmet burgers, good service, and ample (3) options for vegans/vegetarians, which is surprising for a burger place. Best burgers I've ever had, and very reasonably priced for such quality. Great value for sure.

We had a slightly longer wait than they anticipated, and they gave us a cup of their "truffle fries" to snack on. What service! I'll definitely be back.
Islander
Best burger joint in Victoria. Except watch out for the rosemary. It's not in everything, but where it is it's strong. Now it's even in the mushroom gravy in the poutine. After a few bites its all I taste.
Its sad because everything else is so great, from the fries, onion rings, the portions, the ethically sourced meat, ambiance, friendly staff, etc. etc. etc.
Mags
Macaroni sticks were great and need to be shared - so filling. Tonight I was disappointed by the burger. Meat was dry and luke warm. Too much dressing so the whole thing slid apart when I cut it in half. Waitress was very attentive and too couple of $ off cheque. Still, I wouldn't rush back, there's lots of burger competition in Victoria.

First time I went here I found the staff very friendly I ordered the mushroom soup and mushroom burger I found both extremely tasty Great tasting food and Nice looking staff Definitely the place for tasty burgers

Love. I always walked by this place downtown and wanted to go. Glad I finally did; the atmosphere and service was lovely. The tables were so sweet and had candles and flowers.
The food was GREAT, the wait time was not long at all. Very large portions, definitely couldn't finish but you get your money's worth! Great restaurant.

Using Gourmet as a Catch Phrase. Gourmet burgers - How about taking some lessons before you label yourself? Do you know how to source meats? Do you know how to grind, mix, or even understand textures and what different meats are? If you make gourmet burgers, you really should be mixing yourself... are you? Your website and menu suggest that you are not and you are leaving it up to your suppliers. What is in your meat? How is it processed? Jamming a bunch a junk on a huge bun does not make a burger gourmet! (Look at the photos! - Anyone can do that. Watch the videos on Big Wheel Burgers website, closer to gourmet than you will ever come.) I have visited the The Pink Bicycle twice now on recommendations and have been disappointed on both occasions. You can't go into this place and get any type of regular burger... you are stuck eating some weird expensive contraption that someone has come up with one day after having to much to smoke. If you want to make a gourmet burger, try it with quality ingredients and just make it taste awesome without all the junk. Anyone can pile on a bunch of expensive cheese and mushrooms but can you make a real burger? And can you make it gourmet without going overboard?
Kirsten
Great vegetarian choices! This is the place for gourmet burgers - what a great menu with lots of interesting items. We had a long wait - next time I would try to make a reservation first. They gave out free samples to those waiting - great service. Definitely want to go back and try something else.
The Fridge
Another one of my favorite burger joints in victoria, everyone must try this place...and dont forget to try the mac and cheese sticks
Meg_1982
Best burger I've had in years!. I had the pink bike cheeseburger and was blown away. Flavorful burger with special sauce served on an amazingly delicious bun. I had it in August and I'm still thinking about it! I was motivated to review it tonight because I tried Big Wheel Burger in Cook Street Village and the cheeseburger I had there was terrible in comparison to the pink bike cheeseburger. Five Stars for the Pink Bicycle. I shall be back very soon!
KamalaP
I informed my server that I had a gluten and dairy intolerance. I ordered the bison burger with their gluten and dairy free bun. I did receive the bison burger and the correct bun but it was slathered with cheese and BBQ sauce. Not sure why anyone would think that was appropriate to serve. If you have a severe intolerance or allergy to gluten or dairy, I do not recommend eating here. I never had an issue before but it appears to have gone down hill in the servers and cooks employed.
R
Great Food!!!. Never met a Pink Bicycle burger that I didn't like...and neither has anyone I've brought here. Great service every single time. Great selection of local meats. Don't deprive yourself of the truffle fries and many dipping sauces!

Wow, by far the best burgers in the city. Mac and cheese sticks are awesome also. A little pricey but what isnt now a days in Victoria.
TheRenster500
I have only been one time but i sure enjoyed my burger, and my friends enjoyed theirs too. I think this place is underrated because of Bin 4. I have been their multiple times but have always been dissapointed. When i went to pink i had the mechosin mutton burger and it was amazing. Flavours were delciois and fries were good too
Brenda
Our first time FANTASTIC. 4 of us had 4 different burgers, all over the top fantastic...I had the lamb with blue cheese - a beautiful experience in a cool little hole in the wall downtown location

First times the charm!. I had lunch (along with my Mom) today, and we were both very pleased with our first visit. She had the lamb burger and I the Local Swine Burger. Both so tasty and delicious. The two serving staff were helpful and friendly. I like the concept of wine bottles being used for water, saves the staff lots of extra running around especially since they have to go upstairs and then down to get and deliver the food. Good job all around!
Dhar
It has lost something. This used to be my favourite burger place and I was never disappointed....until the other night that is. My halibut burger was bland and my salad soggy.....no candied pecans? Sad......
Daniel
Great burguers. As you look for gourmet burgers, there are just a bunch of traditional and selected places in Victoria. This is one of them. The restaurant is small and cozy. Service is lightning fast and you won't be disappointed. Ingredients actually taste fresh. The beef tastes like something you will make at home. The salad was super-fresh and well prepared. We asked for a couple of substitutions and they came right as requested. The only downside (?) is the price. It is quite a bit pricey for the same kind of burgers you can find in similar places. But if you are up for the wallet shock, this is your place.
Jasreet Badyal (Jazz)
Love it - But Sizes Too Big. The burgers are amazing. But they're so large. I can only eat 1/2 of them and they don't taste awesome reheated, so I feel awful about the waste I'm creating. I should try to find someone to share with me next time. I just wish they had options for us folks who prefer smaller meals (and can have more of them as a result).

The buns are massive, which I think people have complained about - but they are so delicious!

I love the pink bicycle sauce. The Moroccan veggie burger is awesome. I like their classic cheeseburger too. They also have yummy drinks.
Pmelder
Not good. I went yesterday, and after quite a wait, my burger arrived....it was dry and tasteless....the patty about 1/8 inch thick...i regretted stopping by immediately Today I went for the best burger in town....Paul's deluxe burger-
full of beef, cheese. bacon, etc. for &10.50. Would never recommend the PB.
Jackie Edmunds
Delicious - but so Small!. Really wish this place would get more seating! Went with my son and his wife, and the line was so long! Absolutely worth the wait, most delicious burger in Victoria, but they need to expand.
Scott Leslie
Just not blown away. Back for my third try over te span of about 18 months and it continues to fail to impress. This time it was someone clearly forgetting things in a deep fryer; both my fries & my son's Mac & cheese sticks were well past crisy. A shame.
Jessc
Awesome food, but tiny restaurant!!. My boyfriend and I went on a date to the Pink Bicycle for the first time last night and it was awesome. When I moved to Victoria, I was told the best burger places are Bin4 and Pink Bicycle. Well, Bin4 was okay but PB is definitely the best.

I had the Pink Bicycle Cheeseburger which had the perfect patty thickness topped with smoked cheddar, sitting atop a fresh and pillowy sesame bun. At first glance I was worried I didn't have enough fries (portion is a big thing for me when eating out) but after eating everything I was about to burst. They have an array of dipping mayo to choose from, I had the malt vinegar mayo and was not disappointed.

My only "beef" with this restaurant (pun intended) is the atmosphere. The staff was super nice, but the restaurant is so small. My boyfriend and I were barely a foot from the table next to us which made it a little hard to have a semi private conversation as i felt I was talking over the other couple. Having said this, they've got a great location on Blanshard so I can't imagine why they'd want to sacrifice that just for a bigger location.

My vote is 10/10, would have again!

Great choice!. The boyfriend and I were hungry and craving burgers. We were not sure where to go so after some quick googling we decided that The Pink Bicycle had the best reviews. The restaurant was busy (7:00pm) and there was a group of 4 people waiting in front of us and 2 people who came in just after us. We waited for about a minute while the servers hustled food up and down the stairs to the kitchen before a server came and asked took our name. There are 4 stools near the window and the server offered us water and I ordered a beer to drink while we waited. Another server came by and gave each group a small paper cup of truffle fries. I was really impressed with the service, the fries were great, fresh cut and peppery. There is a nice selection of burgers and sides. I had the Pink Bike Cheese burger and my boyfriend had the Blue Cheese Lamb burger both with salads. We really enjoyed them, nice chewy sesame buns tasty moist meat, little bit of tasty sauce - excellent. Overall I think it does deserve its reputation of best burger in Victoria!

So the blue cheese burger with chili mayo was really good. The chili mayo had a nice kick to it. The amount of food was definitely enough to satisfy any appetite.

Signed. Dagwoods Cafe

A Great Little Burger Joint. After vacationing in Victoria for a week and having the pleasure of trying out several of the top Urbanspoon rated restaurants, the Pink Bicycle is probably on the top of my list for favorite lunch places. First of all, the interior was very funky; sure enough, an actual pink bicycle greets you in the window as you walk in which leads to a small, yet happening dining area. We figured the kitchen was actually upstairs as everything came and went up and down a staircase off to the left of the front door, which opened up the entire lower floor for dining. But enough of my interior design ramblings, let's get to the food!! My goodness, were the burgers at Pink Bicycle wonderful! True gourmet offerings filled with flavour and originality that are sure to please the burger connoisseur inside everyone! Unlike the supposed "best" burgers I've had at home in Calgary, Pink Bicycle has fresh bakery buns (provided by the bakery next door, if I'm not mistaken), fresh non-greasy meat, and flavorful - not salty or sauce-laden toppings. All in all, The Pink Bicycle was my favorite place for lunch in Victoria and I'll make sure to return the next time I visit the area. I highly recommend!

Good food! Good service! It's a very small restaurant so you may have to wait for a table if it's busy, but other than than that it's a great place to grab a burger!

Kitschy Place, Good Food. We debated between 3 places to go on the corner where The Pink Bicycle is located, and by by far they were the busiest, so in we went. :)
This is not a place for someone who is afraid their conversation is going to be overheard... as I definitely heard the woes of the university girls at the next table. :)
My husband and I were here early on a Thursday evening and were surprised by the number of people already seated and eating.
This restaurant had charm and though it was a little bit dark inside, it was a friendly place to be.
The wait staff was attentive, and friendly.
I ordered the truffle mushroom burger with 1/2 salad & 1/2 fries. I was pleasantly surprised by the salad. It was simple but flavourful. The burger was very good and it went down well with a nice cold beer. They pleased me even more with the olive on top and the slice of pickle on the side!
My husband enjoyed the Pink Bicycle burger with the deep fried macaroni & cheese.
The decor is definitely simple, with their ikea tables and low slung lights, but just the atmosphere is worth the visit.
Overall this is a nice community restaurant which I would return to if I'm in Victoria again.

Okay but not the Best Burger in Town. After hearing all the talk about their burgers we finally had the opportunity to try them. We were somewhat surprised that they were closed on a Sunday but whatever- we just changed our plans a little and went on Monday. We found a very busy small restaurant and were therefore hopeful about their burger. Great atmosphere. While we waited for seating we were given a sample of their fries. A nice touch. We preordered while we waited for seating. Another nice touch. Win for the customer and a win for the restaurant by way of more 'turns'. When we were seated our order arrived. The Pink Bicycle Burger looked great! The fries were fabulous. While the burger was good it was not best in town but tasted very non nondescript. We left a little disappointed but we will probably be back for another go as I hate to write off a restaurant based on one visit. Perhaps it was an 'off' day?

Fantastic burgers and great for celiacs. The Pink Bike is one of my all-time favourite restaurants in town. It's a small space, but the atmosphere is fantastic; casual but eclectic and full of friendly faces. The burgers can be served on gluten-free Origin Buns and the waitstaff all have fantastic knowledge of how to modify the different options to make them safe for celiacs.

(For those of us who can eat wheat, the poutine is also to die for. ;3)

A fantastic location for both a quiet family dinner and a nice date!

Best Burgers. Other burger places come close, such as Bin 4, but Pink Bike gets the crown. For a small restaurant, it more than makes up for it in atmosphere. Such a relaxed and comfortable setting.
Their burgers are best in town, but their soups seal the deal. Their daily special is never a disappointment. Best burger I ever had there was a special: mac and cheese burger. Talk about comfort food done right! I would also recommend the Metchosin Mutton.
A burger lover would be insane to pass this one up. Hope to see you there! :)

I dream about the black bean burger. It's amazing. The jalapeño sauce is the perfect pairing and it's such a deliciously spiced burger. A touch on the hot side but I enjoy that about it :)

Best ingredients, best staff, best burgers in Victoria. The place is a little small, but you'll forget all about it once your burger arrives.

Great Place for Lunch. Lamb burger, onion rings and cane cola....bring an appetite and napkins.

Veggie burger = yum. We liked the black bean burger a lot, huge (a little too messy), tasty sauces fries good but truffle oil fries not so good, too much pepper. a little pricey (they charge you to sub. a 1/2 pound of fries for an ounce of salad.)

Worst burger I ever had. If I were to compare Pink bicycle to McDonalds... McDonalds hands down...
I ordered lamb burger and the patty was so burnt I thought it was a joke by the cook... The restaurant is obviously waaaay overrated and I have no idea why people think it's one of the best burger joint... Those people who think this is the best burger place in town must have smoked some joint... There was too much mayo in my burger and it was nicely covering all the burnt patty... If you like eating carcinogen, this is the place to go!
Mike
That's a tasty burger. And I recommend the onion rings w/ grainy mustard mayo to dip.
Mark Roozendaal
Great again! Definitely our favourite of the trendy burger joints in downtown Victoria.

Too Much Bun. Loved the Lamb burger, patty was not dry and the cheese was not over melted.. my only complaint is the Bun.. My bun was bigger than the patty.. and very chewy. I usually like a smaller bun with my burger. Maybe you could offer a smaller bun for people looking to cut down on carbs or for people who like a smaller bun to meat ratio.. as for the fries.. nothing special.. typical fries

I had heard various reports on pink bicycle and was in Victoria today and decided to drop in. I asked the server if they cooked to order-I wanted it more on the medium side (pink) and she told me they cooked to temperature, that they couldn't do it the way I wanted it. That it's illegal. Ok. So I understand that and that's fine but that doesn't mean they have to cook all the juice and goodness out if it. But that's what I received. They do put enough sauce in to hide the fact they have overlooked it but it was too late. Too bad I had high hopes.
Chris Fragassi
Excellent organic burgers. Probably the best in town.
Sean
I got the classic burger with bacon and a fried egg. Everything between the bun was glorious. The bun itself was too thick. Fries were tasty. Add a drink and my bill was $22. A little pricey. I'd go back to try the mutton and bison.

Love this joint!. I recently moved away from Victoria and the Pink Bike is sadly missed! I used to go there for a pink bike burger, with truffle fries. The mac & cheese sticks are so amazing too, but I find that the burger and fries is so filling I never have enough room for the mac & cheese sticks. I love all the dips they have and the wide array of burgers is perfect for any food lover!
Cris-n-Canada
One of the best burgers.... Being from Texas and having traveled my fair share, I can say without a doubt that I have eaten my fair share of burgers. In saying that I honestly believe Pink Bicycle serves one of the best burgers in North America. I tried the Triple B (beef, bacon, blue cheese) with a house salad. It was as close to perfect as a burger can be. Juicy (not greasy), crispy bacon fused with blue cheese topped the perfectly cooked burger, thick slice of tomato (that actually tasted like a tomato), tasty sauce all contained in a fresh bun. The salad was fresh and lightly dressed.
Side note: When I go for a burger I go for a burger. Not the art on the walls, the perfect seating or location. I have had an awesome burger at Keller's Drive In Dallas TX while sitting on the tailgate of my truck. I like the simplicity of The Pink Bicycle, I like the staff, I love the food.
International Foodie
Burger with smoked cheddar. And barbecue sauce is excellent but there is too much bun for the filling, making the dish too bready, but that doesn't stop me from craving them. The vegetarian burger feedback wasn't good. Please try your vegetarian items, before putting them on the menu as both times my companion wasn't happy. Loved my burger, though....

Love, love, love the pink bike. I go for the original cheeseburger every time which is soooo good but I've also had the bleu cheese burger and it as good as well. I recommend getting your burger cut in half, it can be quite challenging to keep it all together! Fries with wasabi mayo is really good if you like a bit of spice. Yes it is slightly on the pricey side but so fresh and so worth it. I've never had a problem with front end staff.

Mutton Burger.. The mutton burger is amazing. It's all I ever order there, but after finishing a number of my girlfriend's burgers I can say that everything else is good too.

A Vic Classic. I absolutely love The Pink Bicycle. The burgers are by far the best in Victoria, and I continually go back for the blue cheese lamb burger, it is to die for. I have to commend them because it seems they have recently changed up their front staff to much happier and friendly people. It is much appreciated! Because as much as I love the burgers, having great service added in makes this place a must-stop.
Janice
Best burger in Victoria. Love this place. Excellent service. Nice environment. And most important of all, GREAT burgers!!! The best buns ever (chewy, from Bond Bond's bakery). And they know how to make a moist and very flavorful meat patty. And so many topping options and burger varieties to choose from. YUM!

I dig on swine.. I've had a few crap dishes here but overall it is one of my favorite business in Victoria. The service is always great and the atmosphere is lovely. The swine burger is a great dish, I always share one when I go with a friend. I'm slowly making my way through the rest of the burgers. The specials I've tried have all sounded good conceptually (chicken and waffles) but have never been as great as I've hoped. My dog could die, my wife could leave me and my boss stab me in the back and steal my car... I would still be happy if I had that swine burger.

Mediocre to average at best.. Have given this restaurant numerous attempts to get it right, but it's failure time after time. Ticket times are far too long. There's no way that 2 burgers take almost an hour to cook and plate, regardless of how busy it is. There's no food quality consistency, sometimes it's ok and other times it's horrid, but I've never been wowed by any of the food here. Inconsistent front end staff is another issue. Whoever is in charge of training and supervising really needs to get it together. The majority of times we've been here we've been treated like the wait staff are doing us a favor by taking our order and dealing with us.
Chelsers1173
Great burgers!. The Pink Bike hands down has the best burgers in town! Classic and delicious, and lots to choose from. Service is always great, especially considering how busy it gets. Yes, they may be a little bit more expensive than other places, but you're paying for local, organic meats and cheeses. Definitely worth the extra couple bucks to me! Always fresh and yummy!

Not going back. We went there for dinner on a Monday night. We waited about twenty minutes for a table. Once seated I felt cramped. I ordered the BBQ Bison burger with onion rings. While the burger itself wasn't bad, the onion rings were terrible. The service took forever and I found the ambiance to be rather boring, including the music. I heard the same song about four times in our hour and half there. Our bill for the two of us(burger with onion rings, a $2.00 option) was $42.00 after tip. Not worth it. Will not go back.

I tasted cheese. And that was about it.I saw a patty in there but couldn't find the flavour.Somebody please put a real flame to some real good beef

Everything was fresh, tasty and well made. I heard a lot about this place so I was eager to try it. The negative side is the price. Lamb burger and poutine was $23 for one and that was takeout! I would probably go to Jackalope instead next time.
Fran
Not worth the trip. Way overblown. Nothing worthy of the trip: food, ambiance, service, price/quality. Highly over-rated.

Great burger - crazy price. Had lunch today at PB, standard PB cheese burger with fries, burger top notch, no complaints, service excellent for a busy saturday. But, here is the point - adding bacon to two burgers ($2 each), and two side of gravy ($2 each) added $8 to the bill. Come on now. Gravy was good but just two tiny cups (like 1/4 cup or less)??? WTF? Bill went from $24 (2 X $12 burger) to $32 for bacon and gravy? Too much baby. Add one (1) beer and one (1) iced tea and lunch for two, pre-tip, is now $40 bucks. Sorry PB, as good as the burger is, but the price is now over the moon. Two can dine for 9.99 at A&W on the Teenburger, which is okay (okay okay)

Why bother coming back ?. I worked in a kitchen and I get that sometimes people mess up. You forget an order, tickets get mixed around, etc. I also know great customer service is all about admiting when something went wrong and tyring to fix it because, in my experience, people are generally pretty understanding ! So when our order didn't arrive for 45 minutes and we pointed out that people who ordered after us were receiving their food and we had not, I didn't expect the reply to be "Well, when everyone orders at once, some food takes longer". After 50 minutes it all became pretty clear when my burger arrived black with the cheese so burned that it was actually forming a crispy barrier around the meat. It tasted like it had been sitting on the grill for about 30 minutes ! My partner's burger was very fresh and apparently tasted delicious :) Well, at this point I guess I expected an apology or maybe a discount. I didn't get any. I got some awesome blank stares instead. I'm delighted that there are so many other great burger joints in Victoria where the staff are a little more in tune !

Finally a gourmet burger place in Victoria!. Been twice now. First time was take out. Probably won't do that again, burger and fries don't travel well. The sealed bags steam the food and make everything soggy. Still tasted good. Second time was kick ass. Got bacon and cheese and sauteed onions on burger. When your licking your wrists from a burger, you know you've got a good one! Do yourself a favour and get the truffle fries. Simply divine! Not enough side sauce tho, two tablespoons of lime mayo? Its just mayo, don't skimp! Service was good. Only complaints is location and building/decor. Way to small, about 30 seats and horrible old ugly building and ugly, dirty beat up tables and chairs. Burgers like that deserve way better! Damn, just typing this has got me wanting to go again!

I can't tell.... A friend of mine was taking me out to dinner and I chose The Pink Bike. Now, I'm a burger lover, and I was really excited because I've been hearing some really great stuff from friends about how awesome this place it.

The atmosphere was awesome, with nice music and lighting. We were seated by the bar with a minimal wait. I have to say that the burger was good. I got the lamb and the sauce really made it special. I will also say that they were the worst fries I have ever eaten. I got about one o two down and couldn't stumach them anymore.

Though it was a nice place, with a decent burger, I have to say that it was not worth over 20$. I will be back if someone is taking me, but I think that is my one time try.

Great stuff. I had given up hope finding a good burger in this town. Then the Pink Bicycle was introduced to my life...oh man, so good. I will be back, probably tomorrow (and the next day)...

Always had great food here. So far the best Burgers I have had in the City. Lots of exciting Burgers to choose from and the Truffle fries are damn good! Great service as well.

Amazing, Truly the best.. I went to the PB on a Wednesday night for dinner with my boyfriend and we had an amazing time, as usual. We went there around 5:30 which in my experience is a perfect time to go because it is just before the dinner rush and we generally don't have to wait to be seated.

I had the halibut burger, with salsa AND bacon and got really crazy and also had the upgraded pear and spinach salad, my boyfriend had the blue flame burger with the maple smoked bacon and onion rings. The thing I love about this place is the endless burger combinations and add-ons, there is always room to get crazy and creative with any sauce and any burger. When I want an amazing and crazy burger this is the place I to for sure. The servers always have great suggestions to make a burger better, although they are making a buck or two with the add on suggestions I really appreciate their creativity. My halibut was well seasoned and the combination of all the flavors was a total taste-bud sensation. My boyfriend always has the onion rings because they are soooo good, huge crispy beer battered and seasoned rings (yes I did steal a few mmmm!!!)

I love how all of the menu choices are sourced locally, its obvious they have put a lot of thought into their product. I also love the atmosphere, I like how small the place is, it is intimate, the music is fun and the service is great.

This place is a 10 out of 10 across the board, I have never had a burger anywhere else that even closely compares. GO TO THE PINK BICYCLE, YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!

Save your money and time. Overpriced garbage with terrible over priced side dishes.

Go to the Beagle on Cook Street and have THE best burger (get the BISON BURGER) and sweet potato fries with chipotle mayo.
You will not regret it.
Peter_and_jen
Tasty but pricey on the extras!. Great burgers but being charged $3 to put orange juice into a small sippy cup? Also, $7 for a small piece of ice sream cake??? My wife and I enjoyed the burgers (fries were mediocre) but with tax and tip at $77 (with the two of us splitting a large bottle of beer), we'll go elsewhere from now on.
