Review Currents Restaurant - Ucluelet

Enjoyed a visit to this restaurant while in Ucluelet. The view is phenomenal, and our server was very attentive and friendly. Ordered wings, chowder and the beef dip - gluten free. It was nice to have gluten free options here. The clam chowder was different and had a more acidic/lemony taste (I prefer more creamy). It was quite hearty and a generous portion. The wings were meaty and very crispy which is perfect for me! Would return here for sure and explore more of the menu.

Dinner at Fetch: $21 scallops $38 salmon on mushroom risotto $48 halibut and shrimp on risotto $0 pecan pie and vegan chocolate cake Dessert was free because the risotto was undercooked, so that was a nice gesture. Flavor was pretty good, atmosphere and location is nice, service is good but dishes are expensive for what they are.

So for New Years we decided on Fetch Restaurant. What a way to ring in the New Year!! Dang that little Tuna nipple to start, just sent my mouth on a roller coaster of sheer delight! The atmosphere was sublime! The staff was so comfortable, friendly, professional and once again Smiles! So many smiles, thy what truest wins me over. The Chef even came out and discussed the menu with us. Everyone and everything was perfect!! I would strongly recommend these experience to anyone in the future. Was told that the restaurant is going with a new “Local Menu”. I’ll have to come back and SEA what creations will be plated!

Delicious! We ordered the polenta and the chicken dish. Both were amazing. The vegan chocolate cake was pretty heaven. Highly recommend this restaurant when you are staying in the area.

Ordered the Ramen, Shrimp Toast and Soup of the day. Atmosphere is good, service was not great at all. Took so long before our server approached us if we wanted any drinks, took forever for her to come back to take our order... It was dead in the restaurant, it made us wonder what's taking so long. When the server finally came, she has zero clue about the menu. Had to read the menu to see what items on the menu we were talking about... Like seriously, I had to point it out on the menu. The only thing that had flavor was the shrimp toast, which was like a crab cake but made with shrimps. Totally not we were expecting. The ramen was bland. Had to put a lot of salt, and even poured the Shrimp Toast dipping sauce in my Ramen. That's how bland it was. Egg was overcooked for Ramen. There were 3pieces of tiny little pork slices and there were CUCUMBER SLICES?! It's a Ramen, not a salad... This is by far the worst ramen I have ever had. The soup (which the server explained as a blue marlin soup) turned out to be some kind of sweet potato soup. No Marlin... So when we asked, she explained something that still didn't make sense at all. Food here was so expensive and so disappointing.

Had dinner and breakfasts here and the food was amazing, especially the Tuna Appetizer! Food 5 star, service 3 star. Servers themselves are polite and clean appearance, but very slow to bring waters, drinks and check ups.

Black Rock Resort Restaurant was a great evening out for our anniversary. The service and food was fantastic.

Underwhelming given the fancy resort it's attached to. We came with a larger group (15-20ppl) and they added a 21% tip, which was calculated after-tax. They told us 18% tip would be attached, and the receipts claimed "gratuity not included" Receipt added for accuracy - 10% booze tax, THEN 21% tip added. Live music was awesome. Expected 5 stars, can only give 3 due to uninformed staff working with outdated tills. Large groups are tricky, meal orders were considerably mixed up, but both reasonably expected from a 2-3-star lounge. Management should fix this to achieve the 4 -star target that it's billed as.
