Review Floathouse Patio & Grill - Ucluelet

We were looking for seafood since we were by ocean. When we drove by once I thought just pub , fish and chips only? We were tired of looking around so we went in. So glad we did . So nice patio by water( you can not tell from parking side . Seafood was great Had seafood pasta and seafood chowder. Wow it was great. Don’t sit inside, sit on patio . Warm with heater and great view .

Very busy joint on a Saturday, the patio had some nice heater to warm up under. The food was spot and delicious, the service was great and even accommodating for a large group of 6. The chowder is a must have if visiting, and the mussels were so fresh. Had a hiccup with the debit machine so had to wait 10 min to pay so the system could restart but all in all I would definitely be planning on returning one day.

Recently came to this restaurant for supper. Greeted by friendly staff members. Food was fresh, big portions and great! Facilities were clean amd welcoming. Highly recommended!

We were in town for a few days and the Floathouse was recommended to us. We stopped in and had dinner. The staff was very friendly and service was good. The chowder was very good. The meals came out quickly and were hot from the kitchen. All of the meals were very flavourful. We sat out in the open area of the Floathouse, the weather was warmer so we were comfortable. However, if it is cooler and windy you will need to make sure you are dressed appropriately. If we come back will definitely stop here again.

Great atmosphere, great food and the woman who served us was great, I really enjoyed this place. You’re nuts if you don’t go here while I’m Ucluelet.

Just so friendly and nice place to eat, Early summer outside with the patio heating is great, have to come back again to try the rest of the menu!

The server and the hostess where the highlight of our night. Very charming. The food was sub-par. We recognize that this town is severely understaffed and challenged in the hospitality industry. Our drinks were refreshing and tasty but our Rockfish needed some help. It was over cooked. The "Dickles" were good and the Sauteed Onion Brie was yummy.

This is a must try restaurant in Ucluelet. The service and food are great. Garlic prawns are amazing, candied salmon and frutti-di-mare pasta are delicious👌🏻

Great atmosphere we had the pleasure of meeting the sous chef and the owner/chef. There flavours did not disappoint. “The Chowder”was one of the best I have had on the island so far great balance of flavours with texture right down to the bread for dunking it comes with. My own opinion this dish I would serve fresh herb focaccia to dip ! 9/10 <br/><br/>“The Prawns” we had to order 2 as these tasted as they jumped out of the ocean themselves and right into the frying pan then onto our plates into clarified butter WOW perfect pop upon entering my mouth and chomping down on these amazing crustaceans ! My own opinion this dish I would fry this in chilli lime butter and add goats cheese on top at the end And garnish with green onion or chives yum <br/><br/>“The Ribs” 100% NO KNIFE REQUIRED these are your basic ribs cooked low and super slow they fall off the bone with a tangy bbq sauce to finish the ribs off. My own opinion this dish I would perhaps have a few different bbq sauces to choose from maybe like Apple Butter chipotle bbq sauce or and a Maple Honey Garlic bbq sauce 9/10<br/><br/>The waitress was great polite and I would go to the other restaurant she works at just because of great job she did. At the end we bought the chef and the waitress a nice cold beer for closing time well deserved team keep it up and see you next year !

Went with my parents for a belated birthday trip and meal. It was amazing!!<br/>Had the Black Rock Burger and it was the best burger I have had in years. I forgot what it was like to have an Alberta Beef Burger. Just fantastic! And the dessert was insane! ❤️<br/>Incredible staff and breathtaking views!

The seared prawns with white wine and garlic butter were phenomenal! Saw a bunch of locals eating the ribs so ordered them and they also did not disappoint. The blackened snapper burger was delicious and the service was efficient and very friendly. It was a bit chilly outside but the deck and restaurant inside were full. Our server brought us blankets and we were warm enough while we enjoyed our meal. We loved this place and will definitely be back!

Was OK. Had the crab patty burger, or sandwich, actually that's kinda how unmemorable it was honestly, it didn't really taste like much. Cost quite a bit tho.

Supper was amazing! Doesn't hurt to know the owner 😉 regardless, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was fun. We sat on the outside covered deck on a chilly, rainy evening but we were still comfy and warm. Appies were delish - the cheese sticks had a fantastic homemade batter and gooey cheddar filling. Prawns were tastey. For mains - I had the Asian noodle salad with prawns - amazing. Hubby had the fettichini with snapper and he loved it. The tomato sause seasoning was fantastic. Son #1 had the veggie burger and says it was the best best he's ever had. Son #2 had the beef burger - which he's always a fan of 😂. Overall the experience was Fantastic!

I was frankly expecting more from this place.  This is an amzing Hotel with a great view and atmosphere, I had a spectacular time, but the food here was both unimaginative and poorly executed.  I felt that the kalamari and clams were overcooked and overall the place felt like a medicore pub with a good view.  Sad really, there is such potential here.

My family and I had an amazing experience at the floathouse this weekend. Our server suggested the ribs, the chowder, and the fish and chips which all turned out to be so incredibly tasty we had to share all entrees amongst the table. I personally ordered the goat cheese salad and refused to give any away, not out of greed but because i couldnt spare the goodness of the homemade goat cheese. The place and location are so novel, I've eaten at restaurants on the water before but nowhere else compares to the super nautical/west coasty theme of the float house. Super laid back vibes, awesome tunage, and great service to top it off. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, I'll definitely be making more than one appearance at this location. Highly recommended if you're looking for great food at a super laid back location for a good price!!

So nice we ate here twice!. Came here both nights for dinner on our two day trip to Ukie. First night I had the chicken burger with blue cheese, char grilled jalapenos and hot sauce. It was mouthwateringly delicious. Tender chicken and amazingly flavorful sauce. I had it with the cesar salad and the homemade dressing was chock full of garlic and really tasty. The fried capers added an unexpected and delicious crunch and I usually hate capers! Second night had the homemade burger with Havarti. Again, very tasty and you could tell that it was made with love. The first night my boyfriend had the cajun snapper burger and devoured it. The second night after hearing me go on about the chicken burger, he tried that and really enjoyed it as well. Both nights the service was super friendly and the way the servers all joked and worked together and chatted with us made us feel like a part of the family :) I will say the beer is pretty pricey though so watch out for that! Food is a great price for what you get. When we come back to Ukie this will be our first stop.

House burger is unusual blend of meat and is delicious. Seafood chowder also delicious and makes you feel all warm and happy inside. The crabcake appetizer seems a little expensive for just two, but they are really good and taste of great crabmeat, and it's a beach-y town, so whatever... Have another beer and enjoy the friendly service and atmosphere.

Good service. They even made a new table for us. The ribs were delish and I could not put them in my cake hole fast enough. My partner got the pulled pork with root beer BBQ sauze which was also tasty like crab fishing in Barbados. They need a bigger beer menu. Even gave us blankets: bowse!

BAD SERVICE!!!!!. June 24 - around 4:30pm..... great burger, great chowder.... BAD SERVICE. Our sever never check on us, we had to track her down for the tab, then had to wander the establishment to pay via debit...strange since she only had one other table.... we found Blondie texting on her phone and chatting to the other staff..... she should have a job serving. While we were there she was able to scare off two other tables....one due to her inability to tell the customer if a 20oz pint was similar to half litre..... maybe she should google that on her precious cell phone.

Amazing food, view and atmosphere! A must try.

Grey Whales, Water Love & Wondrous Food !. Ukee Charters and the FloatHouse Patio and Grill in Ucluelet have all of the right stuff when it comes to making amazing! Today, thanks to our captain, guide and story-teller extraordinaire Rachel Muehlenberg, we experienced a morning filled with the wonders of Gaia's oceans. Orcas and Grey Whales greeted us with their mighty spouts; Birds, sea lions, seals, eagles, deers and dancing salmon were just some of the splendid sights that graced our zodiak. The finale was complete with fresh fish and chips reminiscent of childhood shoreline memories! Especially poignant, was the respect and grace felt when hearing the stories and Native traditions of love for the oceans and animals on this great emerald planet. And not to be forgotten, was the gentle kindness given to my dog by the patrons at the FloatHouse. Together as one, we can heal our oceans, our animals and one another! Thank you.
