Great place in Toronto... Fresh sushi!!
Insanely good, pricey for a family of four though.
Finally tried it. After living in the area for several years, finally got around to trying Sushi Marche, Phoned ahead for lunch and went and picked it up, the quality was fantastic, everything tasted fresh and was made to order. Will most certainly return again. Prices are a bit higher then your average sushi place, but the quality is reflected.
Disappointed. This place used to be one of the best sushi places around. Not anymore. The quality is still high, although not as high as before. Perhaps the owner has shifted his focus to his new location but all the special touches that made this place great are now gone. The spark of originality is gone. About a year and a half ago friends brought over a platter of Omakase (Chef's Choice) and it was spectacular. I ordered the same recently and it was nothing special at all. :-(
This place is amazingly fresh, and good. Portions are just right. Prompt service when placing an order, and a call back to say it was done. I am impressed. It is on pare with many other higher end Japanese places.
Great sushi. Always so fresh! It's my favourite sushi place.
Their Sake Kamikaze Gunkan Sashimi (so the salmon, tempura flakes, cucumber, fish roe, and spicy sauce) are served in an endive. It's so fresh and crunchy.
two other favourites are:
Ebi Ten + Asparagus
(shrimp tempura, asparagus, spicy sauce) and
Spicy Tuna
(They keep the tuna in chucks, not a mushy paste that many places do. So you really get to enjoy the fish.)
I never say this - best sushi south of the 401!. I've tried serveral sushi restaurants downtown Toronto and none of them are particularly good and all are forgettable. But this place is ace!
I'm not a sushi snob, but I know what good sushi is and I'm harsh when judging. I didn't want to admit it at first, but after eating from here a couple of times, they give you no reason not to love it! The fish is fresh, there is traditional sushi and "new-age" sushi.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm....sushi!
Sushi Marche has a unassuming, even bland, interior. It's not a place to sit and eat. But their sushi is top-notch and well presented in take-away containers. Really good sushi overcomes the ambience, and the prices are reasonable given the quality.
Good quality but pretty expensive
Excellent quality. Sushi was great quality and very fresh. Highly recommended.
Very fine Sushi that you would expect from any high end restaurant at a much lower price since they specialize in take-out, deliveries and catering. They didn't always have dine-in tables. Chef/Owner John Lee is a Master Sushi Chef, one of the best in Canada so if you have a trained eye, you'll be able to comprehend & appreciate his craftsmanship on another level.
