The food is great. Ambiance is good too. Just the service is weird depending on who serves you on the day.. the chilli chicken is fantastic. And they have a pretty great chicken and sweet corn soup
We ordered Chicken in Black Bean Sauce and Beef w/ Chinese Broccoli and found it to be pretty good. We threw in two rice orders on the side but one would have been plenty. Our takeout meal was $30 and we had enough for a second meal. Could be a new go-to!
This was a decent restaurant considering its location. I mainly came here because it was close to where I live. The food was average, and the price was ok (again, considering location). There's probably better Chinese food that I could've found for the same price, but likely not as close to my place. Service was good and quick.
Good lunch specials. I've been to Ho Jan four or five times with coworkers. There's a lunch special menu for $7.50 with a pretty broad selection, and each dish comes with soup. If you're looking for a Chinese food lunch in this area, I'd recommend it.
Ho Jan - good food, large quantities. Every time I eat at Ho Jan, I always feel 'satisfied'. Their menu is extensive! My favourites are the Spicy Deep Fried Bean Curd - so crisp on the outside and tender on the inside with mounds of dried chili peppers and garlic galour. My taste buds beg for more.... The lunch special is generous and includes soup for only $5.95 - you just can't beat it for value and quality. I love the Singapore Fried Rice Noodles - so much of everything in this one dish: noodles, shrimp, scallops, squid, chicken, beef, oriental mushrooms, veggies - it's a smorgasbord on a plate. Shanghai noodles are supurb. Dry Fried Rice Noodles (the big wide noodles) w/beef & bean sprouts is another constant favourite. The servers are friendly and attentative too.
One of the few decent chinese food options in the area. There's very few good chinese restaurants close by and this place is decent. That's all I can say about it. Most items are just decent and prices are average. Prices at lunch are pretty good.
The chicken with cashews is very delicious though.
