A bit pricey but it's a non greasy option that so many other breakfast places don't offer. Good tasting
Short and Sweet. When it comes to giving good reviews, I tend to keep them short and sweet. The Upper Beach Cafe continues to delight. I've been there a few times over the past year and have never been disappointed. My favourite dish is the eggs florentine, but I have also enjoyed the "create your own" omlette with a good range of fresh ingredients. The patio is a nice touch, but a little sparse.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
Quality Food, Good Environment, Not too Expensive. My girlfriend and I went on a date there and its a great cute little place for a date. We went for dinner and got lasagna and pizza; both were very good quality. Not huge portions, but enough. The ambiance was good for a date, but not really elaborate. Each entre was about $14 for us for dinner. I imagine this would be a great place for lunch or breakfast as well.
The best sandwiches and pizza in the city. I've taken 5 people there with the notion that is the best grilled cheese ever. They all walked away saying I was correct. The jerk chicken pizza is other worldly. From coffee to entrees to dessert this place is worth the trip.
Great Brunch!. Wow! Things have improved! I ate at the Upper Beach Cafe (UBC) about 4 months ago and was not impressed with the food quality, preparation of food, menu and ordering process (original review is below). After a recommendation from a friend a ate at UBC again. The menu is stronger, ordering was simple, food quality and presentation was excellent. I strongly recommend UBC for brunch! Keep up the great job!!!
Original Review-
The upper beaches is a lovely family resturaunt run by very pleasant people. We live in the area and are very happy to see places like this open. Unfortunately the food is not the best. The food taste like is prepared by someone with little to no kitchen/chef experience, the ingredience do not taste fresh, there is little 'suprise and delight' to the menu and the ordering process is a bit of a hassle. We want this restuarant to do well, there are few options on Gerrard. Upper beaches cafe's menu should have 5 great signature dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Great neighbourhood caf. We've had breakfast and lunch here and it's always been good. It's a quiet neighbourhood café with a simple but tasty menu. Service is friendly. Good place to meet and talk with a friend.
In an attempt to explore my new Leslieville neighbourhood, I met a friend at the Beach Hill Restaurant at 1917 Gerrard Street East, which is actually in the Upper Beach neighbourhood; however, the cafe is within a seven minute’s drive of my home. Beach Hill Restaurant, 1917 Gerrard St. E. We arrived at 10 a.m. on a Wednesday morning on this mostly residential section of
